Before I begin: THIS WILL NOT WORK ON NON-AOSP BASED ROMS SUCH AS TOUCHWIZ! ANY QUESTIONS THAT IS NOT RELATED TO THE MOTO X PURE/STYLE PLEASE TAKE IT TO YOUR DEVICE'S SUBFORUM OR GOOGLE IT.
Having been used to owning Nexus devices for a while, I missed the Google Dialer that was with it. With the Moto X Pure Edition, I noticed that the Google Dialer was not included, but instead, uses a basic Dialer app.
Luckily enough, after almost a week of testing, I pulled and deodexed a copy of the Google Dialer from the factory image of the Nexus 6 (5.1.1 LMY48M as of this post) and installed it to my Pure.
Incoming and outgoing calls, searching contacts and places, settings, and Google's Caller ID works perfectly.
Finally, to cure my weird OCD of completeness, I've replaced the basic Contacts app with Google's version. I did not see any real differences between the two. But again, my OCD.
To install:
You must have root and custom recovery on your Moto X Pure Edition
- MAKE A NANDROID of the "System" partition (you can skip this IF you know exactly what you're doing and know how to revert.)
- Using a file manager or TWRP (with "System" enabled under the "Mount" menu), in /system/priv-app look for folders named "Dialer" and "Contacts."
- You have three options here:
You can delete the "Dialer" and "Contacts" folders.
You can rename "Dialer.apk" inside of the folder to something like "Dialer.bak." Repeat for the Contacts app.
Or you can leave those folders alone and have two Dialer apps and two Contacts apps show up in your launcher.
- Flash "signed_google_dialer_contacts_installer.zip" in recovery and reboot.
- Enjoy.

What's involved in getting caller blocking? I had SlimSaber on my lg g2 it had call blocking. Most day it's carrier dependant, but it can't be, as I said I've had it on my carrier.

Flashed this on my Oneplus Two, works like a charm. Oneplus Two Dialer did not state on which sim is the call being dialed/received.
Worked like a charm. Just like evobyte stated, using TWRP, just flash the zip, it will mount the system automatically. If you mount system first it will give you an error. Kudoos and thanks!

I just wanted to say thank you so much! While it looks exactly the same as the Dialer provided by Moto, it adds the Advanced menu allowing us to enable Caller ID by Google (Show names for people and businesses not in your contacts.) and Nearby Places (Display search results for nearby places.) and these are 2 amazing features!! I'm lost to why Motorola would've have included this Dialer by default.

Sadly it is proprietary Google software that they don't let anyone use. I had it on my Nexus 6, but once I switched to a custom ROM I lost the Google Dialer. I'm so happy to have it back!
Awesome sauce. Renamed dialer.apk and contacts.apk, flashed the zip file in TWRP and boom new dialer and contacts.

i had the captivate and i miss those things too but i found a program called power control plus. It does the same thing but once you set the toggles your cant delete them unless u uninstall the whole program and reinstall

The true power menu like what comes on the Galaxy phones is MUCH more elegant than that.
I came from a Captivate and I miss it bad. I still pull the notification bar down out of habit to toggle different things.
I will be watching this.
Quick Settings is pretty good too and its free. Maybe not as nice as the one on GS phones.

I use an app called "Extended Controls"... it is very similar, but after trying both I found it to be a bit better (more features overall, but color selection on indicators is limited)
Extended Controls /=/ Notification Power Control
I use Extended Controls as well but it is *not* the same thing as what is being requested in this thread. A mod like this already exists on the EVO and DInc...and it is quite handy (plus it frees up some space on your screen.
Hope this gets worked out for the X b/c I'm sure waiting for it...patiently/impatiently

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe the reason why Cyanogen isn't on the DX is because of the inability to load custom kernels onto the DX.
ohh I didn't know anything about that but it would make sense.. that's kind of a bummer.. it'd be nice to see the lockscreen with the messaging and phone slide tab as well

WhatsApp ONLY DEMO, not redistributing it
Can't make the text white because I can't recompile WhatsApp.apk , but anyway I find it nice.
I can't post it due to the constant WhatsApp updates, which makes a popup appear to make you update the app. If I post the apk, it will be signed differently, so WhatsApp won't be able to update. And I can't be updating this app constantly and posting, and don't know if it would even be legal.
The maximum I can do is posting the modded visual drawables. You just have to drag them from the zip (do not extract) directly to the apk (res/drawable-hdpi folder) using WinRar or whatever.

Not possible. Freaking frustrating I spent more time trying to find the ****ty blue background (looked at png's as well as in xml's and nothing) than theming the app...

Nice ROM. Debloated, but still has some of the Blur and VZW apps I do use. With the Razr M Launcher addition, I might make this my regular ROM.
Question though...this comes with two home screens to choose from. I have the Razr M home screen as my default, but what about that second launcher that still is supposedly present and just covered up by the Launcher being currently used? Is the background launcher consuming extra memory and battery just by being there? I would tend to think it is, to some extent. In that case, should I freeze or uninstall the unused launcher? (This is something I've always wondered about secondary launchers, not just this one.)
Other than that, nice and effective ROM. I look forward to future updates.
You can freeze it with no problem. I leave it as a system/app just in case someone wipes data after they install the rom.

I'm not very good at writing introductions so I'll just skip to the point. I have produced a mod for NitrogenOS 7.1.1 that will theme your Nexus 6 UI to resemble that of the Pixel. This is done in several ways: changing the navigation bar buttons to be filled in, implementing round icons to use with the Pixel launcher, and replacing the teal accent color we all know and love with that sleek new blue. However, do keep in mind that we haven't found a way to port the new home button animation yet.
Compatibility status: Currently compatible with the 24.12.2016 build. This version of the modification is untested on previous and future builds so don't expect it to work.
I'm unaware of any further issues with this mod, so tread carefully. But it should be pretty solid. Without further ado, on to the packages.
NOTE: If you're not using these on a fresh install, clear the app data for the Pixel launcher to apply the round icons.

If you're using TWRP, navigate to the apk and select it. Then select the "chmod" option and type "0644"
Update: looks like I've fixed the home button issue. I packaged the two APKs into a flashable zip if anyone wants to give this a shot. It'll take care of extracting and setting the permissions. Please, remember to back up just in case this fails horribly.

On a related note, I was reading into it and it seems that it's not currently possible to port the animation. Pretty sure it has something to do with the Smartbar/Fling system. I don't really know. Anyway, this is the best we can do for now.

After following the porting guide to a tee, it simply doesn't work. I suspect it's because of the Smartbar/Fling system but nobody has figured out how to correctly port it yet.
