[GUIDE] Fix No Network Signal Error in Mi Note/Pro - Xiaomi Mi Note Pro

Hello Mi Note/Pro Users,
Today I'm here to solve the problem of No network signal error in your Mi Note/Pro by giving you a simple tutorial that you can do it yourself easily. Note: This tutorial can be used for both Mi Note/Pro.The steps are same, but make sure you use the correct file for your device.
For this tutorial we need some things, so let's get the things ready before starting the tutorial
We need Mi Flash Tool. So Download MIUI Rom Flashing Tool and install it in your computer.
Download the Modem file for your device: For Mi Note: Click here. For Mi Note Pro: Click here. The zip that you downloaded needs to be extracted to get the modem file. The modem file that you get after extracting the zip file would be named like this NON-HLOS.bin
Now let's get started.
Turn off your phone and enter your phone into fastboot mode. (For entering into fastboot mode, Press volume - and Power button together until you see the fastboot image on your phone.

}
After entering the phone into fastboot mode, Connect your phone to the computer.
Since you have installed MIUI Flashing tool, go the Android folder of the MIUI ROM Flashing tool, ie C:\Program Files (x86)\Xiaomi\MiPhone\Google\Android. MIUI ROM Flashing tool will be installed to the above location by default.
Copy and Paste the modem file (NON-HLOS.bin) to the folder mentioned in the above step. Some times your pc will ask to provide administrator permission to paste the modem file to the above mentioned folder like this:
Press continue and the file will be copied and pasted to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Xiaomi\MiPhone\Google\Android.
Hold down the left Shift key on your keyboard and right click inside this folder and then select Open command window here.
This will launch the command prompt screen like this.
Type the command fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin and press the Enter key to flash the modem like the one in the screenshot below. The screenshot below is actually of the Redmi 2 phone, so for Mi Note/Pro it will be slightly different. The modem will be flashed successfully and type in fastboot reboot to reboot your phone.
Your network should be back after that. Enjoy.

Special thanks to @Technoking2020 & @teejay456
The modem files for this tutorial of MI Note/Pro are extracted from the fastboot developer rom of the respective devices.

Just an FYI I tried this when trying to revert from 5.1 back to 5.0 and it didn't work. I had to do a fastboot flash of the entire rom file to get it working again

I have this problem when restoring TWRP backup. Still its enough to get out of trouble.

Good afternoon! Friends, I need help urgently! After flashing the modem, Mi Note writes that there is no SIM card,
Friends who can make backup partitions workmodem1, modemst2, fsg, I will be very grateful to you.
And then I'm sitting now with a player in 64GB. The instruction is very simple, especially for those who installed it either through the "ADB" folder.
Instruction:
1). Switch off the phone. We are going to restore TWRP. We connect the cable to the computer.
2). We go in the folder adb. Press SHIFT and right-click anywhere in the folder. Click Open Command Window.
3). Write the following commands:
Adb shell
Su
Dd if = / dev / block / mmcblk0p12 of = / sdcard / modemst1
Dd if = / dev / block / mmcblk0p13 of = / sdcard / modemst2
Dd if = / dev / block / mmcblk0p16 of = / sdcard / fsg
All backups are ready.
Modemst1, modemst2, fsg files will appear in the phone's memory
If someone is worried about IMEI, then it is not copied in this backup, if not.
Friends, I hope for your help!

When i boot into Bootloader I can see that:
"Device is UNLOCED Status code: 3"
I read that in order to resolve that, I should be in bootloader mode(which I can do)
and Flash system, boot, recovery.
But i just DO NOT know how...!
I even dont know which files to download?
I dont know on which android version i was.
Please help me...
Thank you!
I just did this last night. Easy fix. Follow these steps. Put all the factory image files in the platform-tools folder and run these steps in a command prompt. Let me know if you need more details. I went from never rooting a phone to loading 6.0.1 in about two hours. Which I would stay away from for now due to the battery bug. Stick with 6.0.0.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/how-to-nexus-6-one-beginners-guide-t2948481/page62
The CF autoroot does not work for Marshmallow. Something needs to be done on this forum or lots of people are going to temporarily brick their phones.
Thanks!
Can you please look at the attached screenshor and tell me if needed files?
I extract factory image 6.0.0 (MRA58X)...
Now:
1) Which files i should copy to platform-tools folder?
2) Can I flash at the same time also SuperSU & TWRP
After i copy the file/files to platform-tools folder , is that what i should do?
1) Boot into bootloader mode.
2) Open command prompt from platform-tools .
3) Type in the command prompt window these 6 commands (1 by 1):
- fastboot erase system
- fastboot flash system system.img
- fastboot format cache
- fastboot flash cache cache.img
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- fastboot reboot.

Thank you so much!
fastboot flash twrp recovery, reboot to recovery and flash roms from there
I really need your help...
Followed this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/guide-flash-factory-images-nexus-6shamu-t2954008
Clicked on the flash-all
But it tell me:
'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command...."
How come?
Please - need your help.
Thank you!
TWRP downloaded and copied to:
C:\\adt-bundle-windows-x86\sdk\platform-tools
Renamed it to: twrp.img
put twrp .img in same folder as fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery NAMEOFIMAGE.img
that's all
Is it ok?
After waiting long to see any process in the cmd windows or in the device (nothing), This is what i get:
Maybe something is wrong with the driver?
How can i knwo (when i connected the n6 in the first time everything looked right with the driver)
you have unlocked your bootloader? you have booted to bootloader when trying fastboot?
In the bootloader i can see:
Device is UNLOCKED, Status Code: 3
I booted into by holding VOL down+power.
You are going to have to fight through it like I did till I can get back to my laptop and help. Everyone that knows what they are doing do not understand you don't know what dgbrjkgbj efvkjdfougndfj nnufiv vsibhan andighbdfiv are. The lingo is the killer in learning all this stuff. There is no plain easy to understand guide to all this which is why I have stayed away from it for so long. Every technical area has users who break it down to the most basic level. This is the exception.
@Clay
I really having difficulties understanding your main gaol with your replay.
I am sure that there is a solution to this problem.
I just need someone to explain me what is wrong here...
never seen that error about size. can't help you with that.
Trying to get someone that can help you understand that you need it broken down in more simple terms. Where to get the image from. What to do with it, when to do which step.
---------- Post added at 03:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:24 PM ----------
Download the factory image from here.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en
Extract the .tgz file then the .zip file and put all the files in the platform-tools folder. You might need winrar to extract the .tgz file.
Then run the sequence below from a cmd prompt pointed to the platform-tools folder.
1) Boot into bootloader mode.
2) Open command prompt from platform-tools .
3) Type in the command prompt window these 6 commands (1 by 1):
- fastboot erase system
- fastboot flash system system.img
- fastboot format cache
- fastboot flash cache cache.img
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- fastboot reboot.
Hi,
Cant see any tgz file there...unless you meant to a ZIP file(image-shamu-mra58x) ??
Here are the files: (it's a screenshot)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3587442&stc=1&d=1450972618
The .tgz file is the original file you download from this site. The factory image.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en
Extract the .tgz file, then the .zip file that extracts from the .tgz file, place all those files in the platform-tools folder then run the sequence above.
place all those files in the platform-tools folder
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Do i need to take only the files that created from the extracted zip file?
Do i need to take only the files that created from the extracted zip file?
I don't know what twrp is yet, so you'll have to get help from someone else on that one.
---------- Post added at 04:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ----------
I put everything in the platform-tools folder. As long as you have the files mentioned in the fastboot steps you should be good.
@Clay
As we can't post images by this kind of commants, pleas see bellow the attached image.
I extracted it correctly?

Does your phone has warranty? If yes, the store that you buy your phone is where to go repair.
Remember don't install any magisk module like: Pixelarity, Oxy-ify, Pixify. Flash stock rom and lock the bootloader first if unlocked.

Yes but I do not live in US and does not worth because of high taxes. I tried what is in the thread and I could not find the IMEI on the Qcn file when editing , that is why I need Qcn file from my same phone to restore it
Moderator's Announcement: I had to slightly clean this thread. Please be aware that XDA does not allow any discussions or providing of tools regarding the change or the edit of IMEI's, only about restoring of original IMEI/EFS!

.backup file

Hello,
So my phone was stuck in bootloop and thus, I created a backup in my SD card. The files are shown as 13 files of 2GB size each with an extension ".backup" Anyone has any idea on how to combine these files and access the data inside on PC. The data is very important. Thank you!

I've had numerous Moto devices and have never seen any backup options in stock recovery., so I haven't any idea what format these are using.
readback stock recovery from SP Flash Tool and flash TWRP. also readback metadata partition (crypto footer). do not unlock bootloader because encryption is bonded to bootloader state. if you are lucky TWRP will work on locked bootloader. TWRP will decrypt your data so you can backup everything

How to do this? USB debugging and OEM are not ON in my phone. I saw some tutorial on YouTube, but it requires USB debugging.
Can't I use those userdata_*****.backup files?
usb-debugging is another option to access your data (can be enabled in boot.img)
SP Flash Tool is for preloader mode, no usb-debugging required
https://android.stackexchange.com/q/203283
wait, you did factory reset already? in that case crypto footer is reset too. backup is encrypted and therefore useless unless crypto-footer is restored.
you said you restored backup, are you sure? does the phone boot into lock screen like before and is pattern still the same?

Yes, the password is still the same. It's like the phone is again in the same condition with the same issue of boot loop.
I saw some tutorial on SP flash tool and what I did was:
1. Downloaded the SP flash tool
2. Downloaded TWRP recovery specific to my phone
3. Opened flash tool, went to download, clicked on scatter loading, selected the file and then clicked on download and connected my switched off device to the PC via USB
But, nothing happened after that.
My phone started charging, but nothing else happened.
I thought drivers weren't installed, so I went Driver Autoinstaller folders (there were 2 of them) and clicked on Driver Install, but it showed me this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
Then I clicked on finish and it showed this
When I went to the second folder, it showed me this
Is it because of this, that my device is not detected by this flash tool, and if yes, what can I do?
Yes it's driver issue. Disable driver signature enforcement and reboot. open device manager, connect phone and immediately select yellow triangle. install inf manually with let me pick option
you should not flash TWRP without a backup of stock recovery. Do a readback first. Also it is important the scatter file is matching your current partition layout. therefore you should analyze the result. if you are able to extract ramdisk with AIK then you have successfully dumped stock recovery (and can proceed with next step flashing twrp)

And how to analyse the result part? I didn't get the "extract ramdisk with osmosis AIK"
Is there any tutorial video that you know of, if yes, kindly send the link please coz I don't understand these terms.
And thanks a ton for this!!!
on readback tab delete all entries. add one entry for EMMC_USER. give meaningful file name recovery.img. enter length and start address in hex (refer to scatter file). start readback and connect phone.
Disable Antivirus program and download AIK. copy recovery.img into AIK directory and execute unpackimg.bat. enable Antivirus when done

So, what length and start address am I supposed to enter in hex?
And you shared the link AIK, in that there are so many options, which one do I have to select?
What can I do now?

pretty much self explaining.
why flash boot.img? are you sure that scatter matches your partition layout (you will erase wrong area if not)!?

tested all links. must be something about your country. you should get something like
Couldn't preview file. You may be offline or with limited connectivity.
click on -> Download
Google Drive can't scan this file for viruses
click on -> Download anyway

Yes, I did that, after that only it shows this.
I am about to cry, it's been 14 months trying to get those files. Every time, I get too close and then bam! back to square one. Can't access those userdata***.backup files, can't access the phone, as soon as it starts, it gets stuck in a reboot loop, can't flash TWRP because not able to download the file. You have no idea how painful this is. Still thanks a lot, you helped me a lot, but I guess it's a lost cause now. Earlier lost the person, now lost the memories. Thanks anyways

Question Hardbrick no recovery or fastboot

Forgot how it got to this point, i think i flashed wrong boot.img or something, but my device just reboots constantly on the redmi sign. Tried following the guides on here but i got lost at some point. I've installed the driver filter and done the mtk bypass thing, but I'm confused on where i should go from here?
first of all, install MTK preloader/brom vcom drivers for your PC be able to detect your phone in BROM mode (attached below)
install MiFlashPro, you will need it to fill the Download-Agent in sp tool so you can write the boot images to recover your phone.
then, use the miui ROM that you used before bricking it, or download it from any website (my favorite is mifirm.net, it downloads faster)
now open sp tool from MiFlashPro.
now you will need to fill out 3 spaces:
download-agent (DA for short), scatter-loading file & authentication file.
DA is to have access to the devices internal storage, scatter-loading shows you the mapping of the partitions it will flash on the mtk & authentication is just MTK protection for newer mtk devices that you need to be able to flash (its also used to successfully flash, but you still need to bypass it somehow, as you require a Mi Account able to do BROM flashing, see below as you follow the thread)
to find the DA, it is always in the MiFlashPro installation location, so ...\MiFlashPro\. Access that folder, open up "\SP_Flash_Tool_V5" folder, and you will find a file named "MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin", use it as the DA.
to find the authentication file, its located in the same path of the DA, so ...\MiFlashPro\SP_Flash_Tool_V5\, and you will find a file named "auth_sv5.auth", use it as the authentication file.
finally, to find the scatter-loading file, it is in the rom folder you extracted, so ...\camellian_xx_xxxx_images_VXX.X.X.X.xxxxx_XXXXXXXX.XXXX.XX_XX.X_xxxxxl\ (the X's represent your MIUI version you downloaded). the scatter-loading file is always located in the folder "images", so \camellian...\images\, and you will find a text file named "MT6833_Android_scatter.txt", use it as the scatter-loading file.
Now, you need to edit the "MT6833_Android_scatter.txt", or else when you use to flash you will get this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Open it (located at your MIUI ROM folder at \images), then use the locate tool to find "combo_partsize_check: true". You will probably find a few lines set as true, just replace every one with false (if it doesnt find it, just put "combo_partsize_check", but you will waste more time finding those that are set to true)
Alright, we finished our sp tool settings. now we have to bypass MTK Auth protection.
(Dont close sp tool yet!)
Ive annexed the tool below (mtkauthbypass.zip), download it and extract it.
It looks like this:
After you are ready, press the "Disable Auth" button, get your hands on the phone and press at the same time the VOL+, VOL- & POWER button, till you see prompts appearing in the blank (i dont have a screenshot to show how it looks like, sorry)
after it bypasses, go to sp tool and click download immediately, then your device should come to life.
if it didnt work, i recommend selecting every mapping excluding your data, or do a full reflash if you wish or as last resort
