[XT1040] Unrooted Moto G won't upgrade to Lollipop - Moto G 2014 LTE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there. I'm new and I have a problem upgrading to 5.0 from kitkat. I barely know anything about cellphones and my friend was helping me out before this happened.
So the background story was this:
My cellphone (Moto G LTE XT1040) was not showing the push notifications so after digging, I looked for some solutions that required a rooted cellphone, so I did it.
I unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom recovery (TWRP), then I installed SuperSU to make the cellphone root and tinkered around with the solutions to the push notifications issue, and left the cellphone untouched after.
Just this week, I recieved the upgrade to android 5.1 and before installing it I unrooted the cellphone, uninstalled SuperSu, flashed it with stock recovery and then a factory reset it. That should clean everything, but it turns out that after 2 failed tries, It doesnt install the upgrade. The cellphone shuts down and it shows that it tries to install the upgrade but the bar fills up until around 15% and a quick error message displays and it restarts normally.
Should I just install the stock rom (the 500 mb file) so all functions and settings go back to true default?
Thanks beforehand and sorry for the bad english

WiFi Won't turn on after Rooting

Hello, I recently bought a Moto X (XT1097) on Android 6.0 version and as soon as it arrived at my house, I unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom kernel, rooted the device and then I installed the Xposed Framework, following the steps of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/ota-android-marshmallow-6-0-final-t3248315
Everything went well, but in the end of the next day of usage I noticed that my battery drained really fast ending up at 0%. When I charged and turned on my device , I simply couldn't turn on my WiFi.
Curiously it also happened with my old phone, a Nexus 5. And to solve the problem with both of them I flashed a Stock version of the Android ROM.
I really want to know what I had done wrong. Currently I am using my Moto X with just the bootloader unlocked, nothing more but I really miss using root. Do you guys have any idea what to do? I don't want to root my phone and that problem happen again... It's a pain in the ass to start all over from a data wipe lol

supersu pro latest update killed my radio, now bricked.

Today I received a notification from supersu pro that I needed an update. After it installed it requested a restart. After restart, there was no connection to cell service nor could I turn the radio on in network settings nor were there any settings registered. I was however able to connect using WiFi from my home computer. I was running stock rom with twrp-recovery and OS h81120o for t-mobile. I tried restoring backups by twrp with no radio/network function. I installed
twrp-3.0.2-0-h811.img
android_device_lge_h811-android-5.1.zip
G4-H811-MM-20i-Stock-Debloated-Rooted.zip
G4-H811-MM-20o-Stock-Debloated-Rooted.zip
G4-H811-MM-20o-Stock-Rooted in this order with nothing different working in network connection and radio off. I finally installed LG-H81120i-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip and it said installed successful yet when restarted the phone bricked. No power on, nothing. I received than same notice for my rooted Samsung galaxy tab 4 8.1 and declined it and am still running fine there. Any thoughts?
Hey,
I was in the exact same boat and almost gave up!
Got my LG back from repair and I rooted it then made a back up, everything was working fine. Flashed a new ROM and updated SuperSU, was not able to get a signal or mobile connection after that. IMEI Number was now NULL. I tried factory reset but still nothing can get the network signal back. Even restoring back to my back up did not work.
I read that if you flashed the LG-H81120i-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip you will brick so I avoided that. I finally found the solution and maybe this will work for you.
Download LG UP and your kdz file (H81120o_00_0613.kdz was mine) on your pc.
Set phone into Download mode by pressing volume up and connect to PC.
Open LG UP and load the KDZ path file and run. Phone should reboot and come back. My signal came back after this.
I hope this method works for you.
Best of luck!

Need assistance - SM-G900A stuck at Samsung logo after stock rom flash

Hey all,
Looking for some assistance here. I apologize in advance for not having specifics on everything, but it's been a couple years since I've needed to do anything with this phone (SM-G900A). I picked it up used a couple years ago and shortly after, I did a NOX unlock and rooted the phone for two reasons - using Titanium Backup and to unlock the WiFi hot spot. I recently noticed that something had happened and my root access wasn't working correctly- guessing from one of the OTA updates that was attempting to occur on my phone. I say attempt, because I don't believe they ever successfully installed since they always seemed to error out. I'm currently on StraightTalk, not an AT&T customer. Something weird was up with it though, because I could never uninstall the Xposed Framework or app, yet Pokémon Go was recognizing it was rooted and blocking my access. I should also mention that I had towelroot running on the phone and it's showing the custom unlocked padlock on startup.
Fast forward to last night- I wanted to return it back to the stock ROM so I did my research, found a couple different tutorials that included the correct ROMs and applied one - G900AUCU1ANCE_G900AATT1ANCE_ATT.zip. After flashing, the phone will not boot and freezes halfway through the swirls around the Samsung logo, then goes blank. The blue notification light also stays lit on the phone.
Thinking it was most likely bootloader related, I found another ROM that included separate AP, BL, CSC files. I attempted to flash the bootloader, which failed and I got the following error on the phone - SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1
At any rate, it seems like my boot loader somehow got corrupted or isn't compatible with this ROM, but I was hoping some of you experts out there could provide some answers. At this point my phone is dead, so I'm hoping I can get it restored very soon.
Thanks in advance guys!
The issue identified in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/g900a-stuck-samsung-logo-black-screen-d-t3050369) seems very similar to mine as well as what's described on this website- http://www.galaxys5update.com/fix-black-screen-with-pulsating-blue-led-on-galaxy-s5-g900a/
I'm seeing the pulsing blue light as well. How do I find the 4.4.4 OA1 Kernel identified in the first link?

[HELP] Dying Moto X (XT1058), trying to save it, any help appreciated

Hello,
So my Moto X (1st gen, 2013, XT1058) used to work fine on KitKat but after it auto-updated to Lollipop it started messing up more and more every day. The phone is fully stock and locked. Here's a brief list of problems:
random freezes and crashes of apps and the OS itself
random screen freezes (doesn't respond to touches) or completely blank screen apart from the notification bar, often times nothing help but a reboot
random reboots, "optimizing apps" every so often on boot, especially when on charger
flaky and unreliable WiFi, not connecting when it should or disconnecting at random including when screen goes off (despite having "always on" selected)
GPS would sometimes have difficulty acquiring lock and would lose lock randomly (worked just fine before)
I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. It's the AT&T variant which means the bootloader is not unlockable. It is also updated to the latest OTA (build LPAS23.12-21.7-1) which means no rooting method works, or at least I haven't been able to find any. So I can't get even a temproot. I tried everything I could find, nothing worked and I'm running out of options. I love this phone and I'd like to get it back to working order. I'm wholeheartedly hoping someone here will have some good advice or some resource I haven't tried.
Here's what I tried so far:
multiple factory resets, both from system settings and through recovery
didn't help, works for a while but all the issues reappear soon after
rooting with KingRoot
failed, rooting method not available
rooting using this method
failed (not surprising, it does mention it doesn't work on OTA)
unlocking BL via Moto's official unlock service
device not supported
installing moforoot
failed, mofoverify just quits silently and the phone shows a message about some missing fastboot var
unlocking BL using Sunshine
says the device should be supported but then fails acquiring temproot, the phone just reboots
reflashing stock KitKat from here (file: ATT_XT1058_4.4.4-KXA21.12-L1.26_CFC_1FF.xml.zip) via fastboot
failed, OS/BL downgrade not allowed
reflashing stock Lollipop from here (file: ATT_XT1058_5.1.0_LPAS23.12-21.7-1_cid1_CFC.xml.zip) via fastboot
partial success, managed to flash a few parts, however it fails on all relevant partitions (gpt, boot, system), reports "downgrade not allowed" just like with KitKat which is surprising, this version/build should be exactly the same as what's currently on the phone
wiping userdata and cache via fastboot
didn't help
I might have tried some other things/methods too, this is just what I could remember right now.
Again, I'd very much appreciate if someone could help me revive this phone. I enjoyed using it while it was working well and I'd like to get it back to that state. Any help is very much appreciated.
Cheers!
I'm having exactly the same issues on my wife's moto x. The only thing I've been able to do for a temporary fix is to enter stock recovery and clear cache. Is there really no root/custom rom method for this device?

LG G4 Loses Network After Root and ROM Installation

I recently rooted my H811 G4 (T-mobile) and then installed the latest Imperium ROM on it. Everything worked fine for three days. The only thing that kept popping up was an alert from Lookout, saying that the Imperium Settings app had riskware and wanted me to delete it. I just ignored the warning as I figured that it was being fussy over an app from a custom ROM. I also kept getting notifications to upgrade my version of Android but I ignored those too as I learned that with a rooted phone, it either won't work, or will unroot the phone. After 3 days, I suddenly lost connectivity to the T-Mobile network. Could still make calls and text over wifi, but nothing when the wifi was off. After going into the settings, it would say that the network was disconnected. I took the phone to T-mobile and they tested the sim card in another phone, to which it worked just fine. So that told me that something was obviously wrong with my handset. I restored the phone back to factory default and was able to make calls again. Imperium was still installed on it. So I went back into recovery and wiped the phone clean. After selecting to restart the phone in TWRP, I got stuck on the bootloader screen. So I downloaded LG Bridge and got it working again. I was going to wait till I got a notification to upgrade Android before rooting it again, but after 2 days, I never got it. Has anyone else had this happen? I thought Imperium was cool but I'm not thinking of just going with another custom ROM.
