The quality is really good with good bass and it's also pretty loud.
I'm impressed.

Hi there, i have the Zuk Z1 since yesterday, I came from a Nexus 4 and I can tell the audio chip/DAC of the Z1 is really good for a phone ! Compared to my N⁴, there's a HUUUUGE difference in stereo image, dynamics and the amping is very good (nearly 2× more volume on the Z1). I wasn't waiting for so much
For information, I own a 450€ audio interface (SPL Crimson) for my music production and listening which has very good preamps and converters + an AKG Y55 headphones (and monitoring speakers for music production) so I guess you can trust me when I say that the Z1 has a really good audio chip/DAC for a phone ^^
Cheers

What kind of music do you produce?
Im a producer as well. Drum n bass, crossbred, hardcore and sometimes dubstep.

@MUG3NHC Nice to meet some others music producers ^^ I would like to hear what you're doing
Personnaly, I often blend Rock elements (Guitars & Bass) with Electronic music. As now I've tried Drum'n'Bass (which I do really like), standard EDM/Dance music, Dubstep, Glitch, Dark Ambient, Progressive Rock, Metal, Funk, etc... ^^ my latest production (work still in progress) is more EDM related (I wanted to try something different, with a more mainstream approach, still it combines dance with glitch and dubstep but also one very discrete rock guitar and bass ^^)
Link here : http://picosong.com/SD8N/

Dirac power sound included according to Dirac (but not mentioned by zuk in specification plus dedicated noise cancelling earphones via usb type c will appear as aftermarket item).
The Chinese launch was accompanied by a music box gift so there seems to be some focus on the audio quality. I can't find any specific details of the DAC though (in the same way that xiaomi and letv advertise HiFi audio and dedicated processor).

To be honest, your tune is a little bit too dancy for me.
Matter of taste tho.
I've got a lot of tunes on my pc, but a lot of them aren't mixed, so i only have 3 on my soundcloud atm:

@MUG3NHC i do really like your music called Night Rain, great ambience
I told you this last song I shared was more dancy/mainstream than what I usually do ^^ Here's an old production of mine which is a more ambient track (on my YouTube channel) : http://youtu.be/gUd10n92jL8

Blue Angel Vs Ipod

I was just curious about the sound quality of the Blue Angel. Many say that the Blue Angel's sound quality is very poor, when compared with Ipod. Please give your opinions and give suggetions to improve the sound quality of Blue Angel.
I am happy to listen mp3 on ba
BA can sound awesome. It is all in the headphones ou use. The vanilla headphones which come with it are average to good, but not great.
if you want GOOD sound, you have 3 options:
1) go to ebay and find an adapter to use headphones with standard plugs in the BA, as the BA has this special phone plug which is smaller. I have one of these adapters, it also comes with a button to initiate and terminate phone calls.
2) go to ebay and get yourself a blueclip, which is a bluetooth 'headset' without phones. you can plug whichever headphone (with a standard jack) you want in this one.
3) get a good stereo bluetooth headset.
1) and 2) are cheaper than 3), but require a wired headphone. The good on them is that you can choose a GOOD headphone (the ones which cost more than $10) to couple with the adapter. Depending on the headphone you choose, you might spend as much as in 3), but you will get the best possible sound going this way.
or do what i did and open up the inline controls/mic on the vanilla one, desolder the crap buds and solder on the buds from a decent set (i used some panasonic ones) amazing sound quality, beats any ipod/mp3 ive tried.
BA sounds great its a question of the sampling of the mp3
The sound of the BA is actually fairly decent (even without headphones). But I will agree with Midget and BrazilianJoe. The better your headset, the better the sound quality.
Thank You for Responses
Its very great idea to improve the Blue Angel's sound quality rather than going for Ipod. I'm on it thank you every one for your suggetions.
well, if you use the DSP ported from an ipaq, you can actually increase the bass and treble levels, which provides amazing sound even on the default pair of earphones
I have included it..just unzip it and use file explorer to put it somewhere(somewhere in the start menu)
I unzipped ur dsp and man the sound is awesome!! thanks Kamal.any more tweeks like this for enhancing the display?
thanks a million.
mukund
I think both the sound quality of them are poor. To improve the sound quality, you can buy a good headphone, such as Shure E2C or B&O A8,and download FLAC instead of MP3s.FLAC has a high quality, you can play it with PocketPlayer.
I prefer some MP3 players which have high sound quality or Hi-MD player to iPod.Like iAudio,iRiver and Kenwood, these brands' MP3 players have better sound quality.
BTW,you have to buy an adapter if you want to buy a good headphone.
i use pocket music(work like win amp).
but still use the dsp..
thanks

FLAC is a bit extreme; the amplifier in the phone blows goats and is very poor quality. Anything above mp3 160kbps is a waste on this phone IMHO. Most people cannot tell the difference between 160kbps on a blind sound test using decompressed tracks on CD. I can, but only on a decent system which the Blue Angel aint! ;-)
(iPod's sound is pretty poor as well however)
Thanks
Thank you kdskamal this works great!
By Far
The BA is by far a better choice vs the iPod.
Like the others have said, quality will depend on how the file was encoded and the hardware used to listen to the output.
Its my:
Cell Phone
Internet Phone
Internet Browser
MP3 Player
Email CLient
GPS reciever
Tasks, appointment, calendar, contacts, notes
PDF Viewer
Picture Viewer
Excel, Word, Powerpoint
AIM, Sype, MSM
with WiFi, BT, and IR
All with voice recognition.
So far beyond what the ipod is: Phone, MP3 player, and PDA in one.
BA vs Ipod? why not make BA as your ipod
I agree from above statement that BA functions covers all the ipod function and in addition to that why not make your BA looks more like ipdod when playing your favorite mp3. I have attached a skin for the window media player to make it looks like ipod. just unzip it to the windows media player skin folder then change the skin at the skin choosr option.
I am not quite good in testing sound quality but I am using ordinary earphone on my BA. The origina earphones of my BA was already broken and the sound quality is drasticaly ugly. So I cut the wires, throw the ear piece and mic and just used its 2.5 mm male jack and attach it to a 3.5 mm female jack so I can use high quality ear phone made by Sony or any other good manufacturers.
I have tried buying those ready made adopter 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm jack for PDA's, it does'nt work for the BA. Because BA's configuration is similar with nokia phone. So if your planning to buy a ready made adopter so you can use your existing head sets try to get those nokia compatible.
apple should stick to software

Macintels benchmark OS_X faster than true macs!
Apple is way over-priced everyone knows that, so much money for such entry level hardware. I think we all know Apple cuts corners just like M$.. who the heck would buy a $300 ipod just to listen to music or, when you can buy a great PPC/smartphone for less, that does everything besides go down on you!
If apple made a true ppc though i'd try it too bad they'd charge like $500 for something that resembles a bar of soap with a screen.
Steven ballmer said it best... "I, love, this...company!" haha
developers, developers, developers, developers!
let's not forget that ipod probably has Digital Right Management system in place, while TCMP on BA will piss on DRM and its owners.

The correct term is "Digital Restrictions Management". It has nothing to do with your rights other than taking them away. Please encorage people to use the correct term instead of the double-think marketing lingo.

WHY NO EQUALIZER on any Android phone??

1 or 2 program zic with an equalizer but no program to boost the bass or do like all MP3 player!
Strange no ?
As a person who enjoys quality music, I'd tell you to use your headphones to color the sound rather than the player. It's better to have more bass-responsive headphones than to boost bass and make it sound like crap, if bass is what you're looking for.
Just a note though, most people don't even know what the heck bass is, and seem to think mid-bass is good.
Sorry for the rant. I guess I appreciate quality more than most people.
Soaa-, I agree with you - half anyway. I have pretty damn good earphones - and it's always good to have an EQ, even if someone doesn't have good ear/headphones - or if they are using the Hero's speaker/s, it is still nice to have an equalizer - to change your music into noise - or to make it seem less tinny. Or whatever.
Bottom line: We need an EQ app; at the same priority as an app that can play your music backwards and at different speeds...

[Q] Incredible S Audio Quality ?

I was aiming for the Sensation but the price is out of range for me so I figured I'd have to settle for the solution right below it (Nope, not the Desire HD)
Incredible S - A phone with all my needs, a perfect screen size, great camera, great-looking (I'm probably the only one who thinks so lol) .. Even if the bootloader's currently locked i'm not the type who won't use a device unless root, we got WidgetLocker, Go Launcher and other stuff not to mention the original Sense UI is awesome
But one thing i'm concerned about -- the sound quality, I read that GSMArena review and they said it was bad .. I'll basically use the phone I buy as my music player so that matters to me a lot, and earphones sound is more important than speaker sound for me
What's your experiences with the sound quality ? If it's great, i'll head out and buy this phone since it's perfect besides that, if it isn't i'll buy the Desire S which means i'll have to settle for an average camera .. I need positive clarification before I get the S.
I use PowerAmp as my musicplayer, and with the build in equalizer and SRS Enhancement and a good pair of earplugs, i think the sound is just fine.

Thanks, what do you think of the speaker sound, then ?
a good pair of earphones will get u going in no time, as for the loudspeaker, they're quite soft and there'll be static noise n distortion if turned to the max. it's htc, it's normal x
IMO ...use custom earphones and a good sound manager like poweramp...the sound is quite good for a phone.
But yeah the speakers are just average! dont expect too much from them.
but overall u wont regret buying this phone
Ok, thanks guys ! I have my eyes set on it now.
I had an iphone before my IS, and the sound on the IS is a lot better than iphone using Poweramp
The quality of the phone/sound is nice, will try with my stereo nokia bt hedest at home, and chk beck to tell.
Also htc makes awfull earphones, its literally hurt my ears, so one need to change that!

The Sp Audio Loadness

Hello Guys
I want to get the SP , but I heard from some reviews that it have a very low audio volume when using headphones , is that true? and if it is true how low is it, I'm taking the subway everyday to work and I'm afraid that I won't hear my music , I don't care about the loudspeakers I'm setting my phones to vibration anyway. thanks
Its loud on headset but a noun for the ear.
Maybe the end of the test jis helpful.

But u can change

yes I saw the gsmarena test but it says on the description the sound when pluging a headphone is pretty low
hmmm , I guess I'll look for something else , too lame that sony is one of the leading companies in Audio products but they can't make a phone with proper audio quality .
I like the sp so much it looks good perform good but something little as sound volume can mess it up.
No complaints here. I use headphones while running and I use etymotics while on the motorcycle (in a helmet). I'm no audiophile and it sounds just great to me. Clean and crisp.

Thanks for replying , but what do u think about the loudness , is it enough or its low?
The standard headset that comes with the SP just sucks, plug in your average headphones and there is nothing to complain about..
Thanks a lot guys
the sound is awesome, like others have said the standard earphones suck terribly. i use my sp with a surround system in my room and it sounds just as good as my mac or iPod which have magnificent audio. the built in speaker is LOUD much louder than an iPhone or s4 and theres minimal distortion at max volume

Speaker & Audio-Quality

How is the speaker audio-quality compared to something like HTC One devices?
Is the DAC & AMP somewhere near the quality of the HTC 10, LG V20 or Axon 7?
Regards Forsaked
I can only compare to the iPhone 6S.
The speaker of the P10 is a bit louder, but on the loudest setting it sounds a bit distorted or overdriven. When I set 2 steps down it sounds like the iPhone 6S in direct comparison. The loudest setting is good for ringtones and they sound really well, if you don't have songs like metal or trance as ringtone.
With headphones (Beyerdynamics DT-770) and some FLAC files I couldn't hear any differences.
Pocketnow made an audio review for the P10.
https://youtu.be/jBzEmOhfcSU
The loudness of headphone output is 1/3 of iphone 7, 40% quieter than Galaxy S7. Not very loud. Both Phonearena and GSMarena confirm this.
I can confirm that the sound in P10 is very nice in Bowers and Wilkins P5 jack.
If you run flacs and Hi-Res Audio its very nice. Blutooth in AAC is also nice.
The Sound in P10 is designed by Hardan Kardon and the DAC is made of Yamaha Commercial Audio
It is well enough loud, if you use the Huawei music app you must run DTS.
Its pros is rock, blues, vokal, acoustic, jazz, funk etc... The sound is egaging, dynamic, detailed and lively better than iphone 4S, and other mobiles ive tried. The phones strongest audio card is something called SEPARATION, between instruments, that is simply outstanding. You hear details of what drum it is, clear vokal, and all the instruments is well placed in a room.
Classical sounds nice, but is not its strongest card, it could have more clarity and focused details..
If your are a Beats head, that damage your ears with hiphop, Skrillex and tekno at high volume, maybe your not satisfyed.
I cranked House of Pain Jump around in Poweramp, and that sounded nice.
HTC 10 should on the papers have better audio sound tho.
But I want to know if the Huawei P10 is ready with drivers to connect a Dac via USB for example Dragonfly.
I ask this because alot of other people wants to know the same.
Works with ESS chipset in the B&O modular for the LG G5.
I prefer to disable DTS. Nice sound but the volume is a little lover than Htc
I just want to give my opinion on this:
I have both the Axon 7 and the P10 Plus and I must say that output is better in the P10 Plus, and I don't understand why.
I don't know what kind of sorcery does DTS mode, but it pumps the sound in a really nice way.
When you disable DTS, Axon 7 sounds better in HiFi res.
Probably is because there is no way to use the AKM DAC on the Axon 7 with a proper equalization, so even when the sound is good, it can't be used along the Dolby Atmos feature. Dolby Atmos only kicks in when using the speakers, or if you want to use it with headphones, it will automatically change to Snapdragon DAC. So far there is no way to use Atmos and the AKM dac together.
I'm using Sony XBA-H1 which I find pretty decent earbuds to test this.
:good:
Its Confirmed by Huawei that P10 use the latest Hi6403 soundchip (typical with Kirin960) that supports Hi-Rez
Its rumoured that Harman Kardon, and Yamaha Commercial Audio group has worked on the sound in P10
It's just to bad that the amplifier is to weak. It makes the volume lower than the competitors.

I don't know, but this P10 Plus sounds better than my Axon 7, and is supposed that Axon 7 is the best audio phone.
Activating DTS make everything more punchier and richier.
The Audio quality is great. But the low volume might be because of some EU regulations.

Problem is that we don't have a way to equalize the output using the high quality dog, because as long as we turn on Dolby Atmos, it changes to Qualcomm one.
Is a pity we don't have a stock or default equalizer besides Dolby Atmos, because is useless if we want the best quality out of the headphone jack.

Using stock music player with my Trinity Master IEM (2BA drivers, 1 dynamic) and it has the best sound output so far among my existing devices (xiaomi mi3, nexus 5, oppo f1s). The sound is crisp and full. With DTS, everything sounds louder but more artificial.
