The Sp Audio Loadness - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys
I want to get the SP , but I heard from some reviews that it have a very low audio volume when using headphones , is that true? and if it is true how low is it, I'm taking the subway everyday to work and I'm afraid that I won't hear my music , I don't care about the loudspeakers I'm setting my phones to vibration anyway. thanks

Its loud on headset but a noun for the ear.
Maybe the end of the test jis helpful.

yes I saw the gsmarena test but it says on the description the sound when pluging a headphone is pretty low

hmmm , I guess I'll look for something else , too lame that sony is one of the leading companies in Audio products but they can't make a phone with proper audio quality .
I like the sp so much it looks good perform good but something little as sound volume can mess it up.

No complaints here. I use headphones while running and I use etymotics while on the motorcycle (in a helmet). I'm no audiophile and it sounds just great to me. Clean and crisp.

Thanks for replying , but what do u think about the loudness , is it enough or its low?

The standard headset that comes with the SP just sucks, plug in your average headphones and there is nothing to complain about..

Thanks a lot guys

the sound is awesome, like others have said the standard earphones suck terribly. i use my sp with a surround system in my room and it sounds just as good as my mac or iPod which have magnificent audio. the built in speaker is LOUD much louder than an iPhone or s4 and theres minimal distortion at max volume

WHY NO EQUALIZER on any Android phone??

1 or 2 program zic with an equalizer but no program to boost the bass or do like all MP3 player!
Strange no ?
As a person who enjoys quality music, I'd tell you to use your headphones to color the sound rather than the player. It's better to have more bass-responsive headphones than to boost bass and make it sound like crap, if bass is what you're looking for.
Just a note though, most people don't even know what the heck bass is, and seem to think mid-bass is good.
Sorry for the rant. I guess I appreciate quality more than most people.
Soaa-, I agree with you - half anyway. I have pretty damn good earphones - and it's always good to have an EQ, even if someone doesn't have good ear/headphones - or if they are using the Hero's speaker/s, it is still nice to have an equalizer - to change your music into noise - or to make it seem less tinny. Or whatever.
Bottom line: We need an EQ app; at the same priority as an app that can play your music backwards and at different speeds...

[Q] Incredible S Audio Quality ?

I was aiming for the Sensation but the price is out of range for me so I figured I'd have to settle for the solution right below it (Nope, not the Desire HD)
Incredible S - A phone with all my needs, a perfect screen size, great camera, great-looking (I'm probably the only one who thinks so lol) .. Even if the bootloader's currently locked i'm not the type who won't use a device unless root, we got WidgetLocker, Go Launcher and other stuff not to mention the original Sense UI is awesome
But one thing i'm concerned about -- the sound quality, I read that GSMArena review and they said it was bad .. I'll basically use the phone I buy as my music player so that matters to me a lot, and earphones sound is more important than speaker sound for me
What's your experiences with the sound quality ? If it's great, i'll head out and buy this phone since it's perfect besides that, if it isn't i'll buy the Desire S which means i'll have to settle for an average camera .. I need positive clarification before I get the S.
I use PowerAmp as my musicplayer, and with the build in equalizer and SRS Enhancement and a good pair of earplugs, i think the sound is just fine.

Thanks, what do you think of the speaker sound, then ?
a good pair of earphones will get u going in no time, as for the loudspeaker, they're quite soft and there'll be static noise n distortion if turned to the max. it's htc, it's normal x
IMO ...use custom earphones and a good sound manager like poweramp...the sound is quite good for a phone.
But yeah the speakers are just average! dont expect too much from them.
but overall u wont regret buying this phone
Ok, thanks guys ! I have my eyes set on it now.
I had an iphone before my IS, and the sound on the IS is a lot better than iphone using Poweramp
The quality of the phone/sound is nice, will try with my stereo nokia bt hedest at home, and chk beck to tell.
Also htc makes awfull earphones, its literally hurt my ears, so one need to change that!

[Q] Low ear speaker volume?

Hey everyone, I've been pretty happy with my Xperia Z until yesterday when I was out and people called me and I couldn't really hear anything they said as the volume was too low in the earphone.
The earphone was / is clean and dry and I have tried different settings and of course max volume etc but it just seems to be too low?
Anyone had any better success with talking or rather listening to people trying to talk to you in traffic or noisy environments?
Surely Sony's flagship phone must let you actually hear what people say when they are calling you?
EDIT: I actually tried the service menu and the tests are pretty loud and very clear compared to calls... so at least the hardware seems to be ABLE to do it's job...

I find the sound quality from the earpiece terrible. It's not only quiet but very muffled and I can't really hear people on the phone even in quiet environments. I'm going to take the phone back because of this!

If you haven't yet, try turning off the Speaker voice enhancement under Call settings. That actually improved the in-call sound quality quite a bit for me.

Hm mine was off but turned it on now to see differences, will have a go tomorrow. Also there is a EQ for calls there as well that I haven't tried yet. I'm hoping that it's just the firmware that needs some extra push as the service menu proves Z can provide some serious quality in the hardware...
please confirm your problem here , so sony support can see this

Yes the problem still remains no matter what settings you do... I wonder if a rooted phone with a sound mod might increase the volume on the call side...?

Headphone volume

Hi guys,
I know this seems strange, but I'm a bit concerned about the loudness of the headphone volume based on reviews. I hear it is really loud, this seems like a bad thing to me?
On my s2, I am running dorimanx kernel so I can lower headphone volume, as it is too loud to listen to music on lowest settings. I also use power amp as it is quieter than other players. I listen to metal, which seems to be more of an issue than other styles of music due to the density of sound. I have tried multiple headphones, so not an issue there.
Has anyone had any experiences with the one that can calm my fears?
Cheers guys

It's really loud, especially with the Beats in-ear headphones. I was surprised that it was such good quality though. Deep bass and hi treble. Excellent earphones.
I would root the device and get an app that can give you -100% to +100% control of your volume. If you install another ROM, you will lose the Beats EQ which is responsible for processing the audio and you will lose quality.
Good luck!

Thanks! I've heard that the quality is great. I haven't come across any apps that allow this? Have been using custom kernels for this. Would you say that on lowest volume it's not too loud? I have noise canceling cans, not inner ears.

The quality is really good with good bass and it's also pretty loud.
I'm impressed.
Hi there, i have the Zuk Z1 since yesterday, I came from a Nexus 4 and I can tell the audio chip/DAC of the Z1 is really good for a phone ! Compared to my N⁴, there's a HUUUUGE difference in stereo image, dynamics and the amping is very good (nearly 2× more volume on the Z1). I wasn't waiting for so much
For information, I own a 450€ audio interface (SPL Crimson) for my music production and listening which has very good preamps and converters + an AKG Y55 headphones (and monitoring speakers for music production) so I guess you can trust me when I say that the Z1 has a really good audio chip/DAC for a phone ^^
Cheers

What kind of music do you produce?
Im a producer as well. Drum n bass, crossbred, hardcore and sometimes dubstep.
@MUG3NHC Nice to meet some others music producers ^^ I would like to hear what you're doing
Personnaly, I often blend Rock elements (Guitars & Bass) with Electronic music. As now I've tried Drum'n'Bass (which I do really like), standard EDM/Dance music, Dubstep, Glitch, Dark Ambient, Progressive Rock, Metal, Funk, etc... ^^ my latest production (work still in progress) is more EDM related (I wanted to try something different, with a more mainstream approach, still it combines dance with glitch and dubstep but also one very discrete rock guitar and bass ^^)

Dirac power sound included according to Dirac (but not mentioned by zuk in specification plus dedicated noise cancelling earphones via usb type c will appear as aftermarket item).
The Chinese launch was accompanied by a music box gift so there seems to be some focus on the audio quality. I can't find any specific details of the DAC though (in the same way that xiaomi and letv advertise HiFi audio and dedicated processor).

To be honest, your tune is a little bit too dancy for me.
Matter of taste tho.
I've got a lot of tunes on my pc, but a lot of them aren't mixed, so i only have 3 on my soundcloud atm:

@MUG3NHC i do really like your music called Night Rain, great ambience
I told you this last song I shared was more dancy/mainstream than what I usually do ^^ Here's an old production of mine which is a more ambient track (on my YouTube channel) : http://youtu.be/gUd10n92jL8
