[ROM][TW 5.1.1] Sow Nice Rom v1.2 OJC Deodexed Tweaked/Modded Stock ish 12/18 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

Sleshepic Presents
Sow Nice Rom
Based off of Sammobile OI1 and OJ7 Release for
For TMO SM-G920T
This Rom is Built off of the Official Release tar of OI1 and OJ7 from Sammobile. I just recently got the S6 and wanted to make my own rom for it to Run as I have always done, but with a few changes to the norm this time. I use to debloat more, but have left more functionality in this Rom that I found useful(fingerprint, SVoice), so it is only partially debloated(see pic in 2nd post for what will be in app drawer, a GOOD bit was still removed). I have made it close to stock for those that like that feel, stable, fast and functional, but added what I see as some necessary mods for Android. Updates will come as I can get to it. Enjoy!
FEATURES-Rooted
-Deodexed
-Busybox / init.d
-Knox Removed
-Remapped Menu and Home Button
-Recents is now MENU, and Long Press Home is RECENTS. This is the way it used to be and I like it this way. No searching for a settings icon, hit the bottom left "Recents" capacative, and if there's a settings menu in the app you're in, it'll pop up simple changes to make life easier - SECOND POST FOR REVERT ZIP TO CHANGE BACK TO STOCK
(I personally set Apex so that long press of Menu/Recents is Search too, works great)
-Native Hotspot enabled (thx crawrj and TDunham!)
-Extended Reboot Menu
-Private Mode Working
-Working Wifi Calling and Hangouts
-SFinder and Qconnect removed from pulldown
-Updated apps
-Center Clock
-Partially Debloated - (Bloat Package Upcoming)
-Unikernel Included - Thanks g.lewarne !
-Apex Launcher included
-Performance and Battery life tweaks
-csc edits
-My Original Custom Notifications and Tones (if you have an old school Nintendo etc theme song you think would be a good cut/remix, I'm up for suggestions...Not Castlevania!)
-and More...
THANKS TO:
-Sammobile - for Stock release Tar
-JustArchi and SuperR - for their kitchens
-Garwynn - for lots of stuff over time. thank him!
-Rwilco12 and AndroidFileHost
-Kmokhtar79 for Reboot Menu and his work on Mods!
-G.lewarne for UniKernel!
-TDunham - If you're running a Samsung phone with mods, you probably should thank TD
-ChainFire - for SuperSU! and lot's of stuff
-KachowPow - for bootanimation
-Stangdriver44 and The Sickness, for letting me bounce a few dumb questions off them as I got used to the TMO side of the S6
INSTRUCTIONS
-Download Rom Zip on Computer and then transfer to internal sdcard on phone
-Reboot to Recovery. A Custom Recovery is Required for this flash, like TWRP and you must be on a 5.1.1 bootloader. Modems and bootloaders can be found in General, if you want to be able to downgrade stick with OH6(if not already on a compat BL, there are more than listed here) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3213001 thx serio22
-Make a backup of current setup. Always have a working backup before proceeding with any ROM flashing.
-Perform a Full Wipe. Wipe Data, format /system, wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvik cache
-Flash Rom from location on sdcard.
-Reboot. helps to let sit for a moment after booting, then after phone is setup let sit for bit too to sync etc

Cool, another rom to choose from.. great to see a new dev for our phones
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk

Nice to have you here bro........Now maybe you can get the natives off of my back...............

Good work bro! Welcome to the party! Glad to see another themer join me here!
You going to busy out some themes for us?
Do you use the overlay apk's or are you old skool like me?
You should run my OZOP zip on your rom! It's a universal zip tool, with some extras.
The OZOP is really meant to be an "all-in-one" tool or "One Zip One Place"
Install your rom then flash my zip to debloat, change the kernel, launcher, camera, add some key apps or ViPER4Android audio! Change the boot/shutdown Animations, theme TWRP or even change the boot splash screen. In the "Themes and apps" International forum you can find OZOP_ROMless, it has all those features I just mentioned.
If you find my post out of line or inappropriate, let me know and I'll delete it.
Just thought you and your user could benefit from the tools available in the zip.
Been working together with @The Sickness for a while now, sharing as much universal stuff as we can. He a great dev and a good guy to be friends with. He's got your back!
Anyways welcome and im here with you as well!
Also, sorry didn't get back sooner about the hangouts things! Sounds like you got it worked out though. Good work and have a great day!

Thanks for the welcome guys
Will be fun to see what we come up with next.
As far as themes, i havent done much in a while and will have a little learning curve with all these .qmg files, but I'll pick it up quick enough

For sure bro!
It's there's always a curve when adjusting to something new. The switch to material from holo is still killing me! I can't stand the "Stock" material.light and getting the system fully inverted involves a lot of trail and error.
As for "qmg's", the attached apk will convert qmg's to pig's right on your phone. Works great. Then I'm sure you got it from there. Then they have the qmg bootanimation! Got that figured out as well, the "OZOP_ROMless" zip or even my "enable custom zip bootanimation" from themes and apps has the files for system/bin are in the "enable" folder. Feel free to grab them for use if you choose.
Zips boots are more common with a lot more options to choose from as well as being much easier to modify or create new ones.
Good luck with your project.

Also feel free to grab what you need from any of my roms....

I am so excited to try this ROM! Thanks for all of your hard work!

NP, I'm sure you will like it, I havent had a single issue since official V1.0 flash. Fast, rock solid, and sleeps like a baby (i lose only like 3% maybe overnight)

Great rom
Loving the rom. Whenever I swipe down on a notification from lock screen it just goes to the blank background and sits for a second. Any known way to correct this? Thanks!

Where did you get the boot animation? I like it! This ROM is very responsive after the first boot. Nice work.

Did you remove the Samsung account? I am trying to use the theme manager but it keeps saying that the Samsung account ins missing and I can't find it. Thanks!

Might sound dumb but is the weather widget missing from this rom?

Yes, i removed them as i have never used either, they are in bloat package. I've been crazy busy but will try to get them up asap. It wont be aroma but you will be able to delete what you dont want and flash in recovery

Bloat Package is uploading now.
I wouldn't flash the whole thing unless you really want it all though!
For Weather widget you'll need, from /system/app
AccuweatherPhone2015 and WeatherDaemon2015
EDIT: here's a zip that should work for you, flash in recovery after wiping cache and dalvik
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347847705
For Samsung app you'll need, from /system/priv-app
Samsungservice2_xxxhdpi_zero
EDIT: here's a zip that should work for you, flash in recovery after wiping cache and dalvik

@edgarf28 made an excellent break down of the bloat in his Add-On Aroma package.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61001703
One can DL that and simply open with 7Zip or similar and go to /add ons and see what each apk needs(for reference), alot of the time there are more than one. They are all things I never will use so I do not have the time to split up in an Aroma package, but all are included in Bloat zip and can be modified within the zip and then flashed in Recovery. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache only prior to flashing Bloat Zip.
EDIT:
Here ya go

Do you know which files are for the Samsung Email Client?
Look like the file is different than the one from Note 3
Thanks

Its gonna be faster to do what i mention directly above your post than wait til im back at my comp to look. Just download his add on package and look in add ons, the folders will tell you what is needed for what. I wont be able to tell people what is used for what because for 3 years I've always torn this crap out
I dont want this turning into a what is what bloat thread, I mention exactly how to find out what is what directly above, take about 5 minutes to download then every answer about bloat is answered.

Just get the add on package onto your phone then just use a file Explorer (i use rom toolbox pro) to open up zip and see what folder has what in add ons, for reference, then modify the OI1 bloat zip accordingly and flash

[REQ] Blue Minimalism v1.3 Theme

[REQ] I was wondering if anyone would be able to port over Blue Minimalism v1.3 for the fascinate it is currently working the Epic over a deodexed rom. I have tried to install this theme file on my fascinate the way it is and I just get never ending boot loops....
Since I'm a noob on this forum I can't place links yet to show you what I'm talking about so if you just go to the search field and type " Epic [THEME] Blue Minimalism v1.3
there is the following files that would be great get ported over
Blue Minimalism v1.3.zip [theme]
Blue Minimalism v1.3.1 lockscreen mod.zip
Blue Mini Dialer v1.0
I would be willing to be a tester for anyone willing to work this port for us fascinate users
Thanks!
I could see about doing this for you but not having one I would need a tester. Let me see about a de-odexed rom to use as a base and it should be no problem. If anyone that has a Fascinate wants to do it thats cool too because they can actually test it themselves which speeds the process up.

Nice, I'm at work so if nobody has taken the project up by the time I get home I'll check that out. I'm guessing the mods I made should be the same but I will still need a tester to be sure.

Hey Raiderep,
Your theme is so sweet, That would be so killer if you would rework the frameworkd and system files etc what ever needs to be done for this theme to work on the fascinate.
As I stated in my request I'm more then willing to work with you and be the tester of it. I'm some what a noob with this stuff and everything. However I'm comfortable with root, CWR I have mulitple backups stored to go back to as well. I have tried this theme that way you worked it for the Epic and ended up in never ending boot loops. Just pulled battery went into CWR and restored a back-up. Not really sure the extent of testing that maybe your looking for but I sure I can do it.
I'm currently running a de-binged google experience deodexed rom that is called Super Clean Rom the dev behind this is jt1134 and it is smooth and fast no fc's anymore and is fully deodexed. Not sure how to PM since I'm a noob on this forum I'm not allowed to do much, and even tried to PM and it wouldn't let me. Anyway I'm ready to work this when ever you are.
Thanks,

This is the latest release right? Just want to be sure. If its flashable as is then I might only have to change the update script. Does this flash in clockwork?

I will need a tester for sure as I only have an epic. As long as you have a clockwork back-up, which it sounds like you do, then you should be fine. There is always risk doing this kind of thing so the usual applies, I'm not responsible yada yada...the worst you might have to do is flash with odin if you guys have that ability.
I got the DI01_Deodex_CW from frostman89 to use as a base so I am hoping this will work over any deo-odexed system on the same os release. I'll get some done tonight and need a tester. Stay tuned

Sounds good, Yes I understand all the yada yada.... Bla Bla disclaimers So I will be up for a few more hours. Let me know what I need to do first... I will start with Flashing back to Frostman89 deodexed rom. At that point not sure how you want to send me the flashfiles to start testing since I'm a noob not sure if you can PM me or what?? Let me know, and I will get going on this as soon as your ready Thanks again for your help getting this over to us fascinate users.
>> I have got to get my User name changed on this forum... lol
Well I have the dialer and settings done but its weird not testing myself. Let me do the two frameworks and have you test that before doing the battery mod. I can just post a media fire link here and remove it later. Give me another half hour or so.

Ok Sounds good just got done loading frostman89 deodexed rom. It has all the stock fascinate apps in it along with the bing and vz nav stuff which I'm sure you can see since you likley are working off that rom... Can I remove out the bing stuff and load up the google experience apps real quick or wait on it?

Thats shouldn't be a problem. I am having second thoughts on this whole thing but I'll give you what I got so far. I really don't feel comfortable theming a phone I don't have for testing on. There are differences I wasn't expecting in some of the image types and without something to test with I don't even want to mess with them. Sorry if I jumped the gun on this but I'm sure someone else with a fascinate will carry on. brb with a link
Ok I have very little confidence this will even work as I don't know how the update scripts work on fascinate and had to guess. I doubt it will even flash but I suppose its worth a try since I put in some time and recovery most likely will reject it
Hope your back-up is handy if it does flash and makes your phone look funny...good luck

If you want to PM me with the link of what you have so far that would be cool if not that's cool too!
Thanks again for you willingness to jump in and at least take a stab at it.

This is just a re-posting in case others want to try this out. It needs to be flashed over a de-odexed system or rom and preferably Frostman89's deodexed rom as that is the only one its been tested on by DroidX007. Might do more tonight but no promises and anything new will be subject to testing by any willing folks with a fascinate, I know DroidX007 will if he's around
http://www.mediafire.com/file/pcm2pf291vowo4x/Fascinate Blue Mini Beta.zip
As usual the risk is yours and I am not responsible for ill effects to your phone YMMV
edit: I think DroidX007 flashed it in clockwork recovery but I'm not familiar with how you guys are doing it with the fascinate. Hopefully he will chime in and tell us just to be certain.

Yes... clockwork recovery is what I've been doing with this theme as its a flashable file like many others that we have been using as in frostman89 remix nextheme and others.
First off Many thanks to the hard working dynamo Raiderep that was kind enough to work his epic theme for us fascinate users.
** Now on to my finding testing this partial Blue Minimalism
- Clockwork flashable file ( flash zip file only over the following Deodexed ROms that I have tested)
*** Did Nandroid back-up of each of these deodex Rom's listed below with this theme flashed over the top and then after reboot went back into recovery for each back-up and restored them to make sure they would still boot up and work ( Test successfull!!)
- Frostman's DI01 deodexed Rom ( tested and works!)
- Jt1134's Super Clean DI01 + AOSP apps (tested and works, no FC's)
Jt's Rom is clean of Bing and enhanced with Google along with adw launcher as second choice to the Sam touchwiz launcher ( tested and works, no FC's)
** I have added back in the puzzle lock.zip replacing the stock andorid 2.1 lock screen that Jt added in to his Rom by default. Shown in screen shot
If for some reason you have boot loops or fc's trying going back into CWR and wiping data and cache and reboot... I didn't run into this, but just be aware that you may need to.
Also As with everything we are not responsible for any thing that may happen to your phone installing this theme... Just a basic disclaimer as you all would expect
Please provide feedback as you try this theme and remember its a partial theme in more of beta form for now, and this will help as Raiderep will hopefully continuing to work thru the next phases of this killer looking theme!!
I have attached another couple screen shots using Jt's ROM with Adw launcher shown.
Cheers!

Cheers!

Nice, glad it worked. Nothing liked theming in the dark, thanx for testing this DroidX007.
Here's the link for the battery mod update for further testing by others if they want: http://www.mediafire.com/file/6yei3sc2ypzuc74/Fascinate Blue Mini Beta - Battery mod test.zip
I think I'll start an official thread for this if a few more can confirm its working just to be safe...
No Prob... I can only imagine what it must be like to theme in the dark.. lol
I agree an official thread is a good idea especially it may even drive that many more users to look at since this thread has been named [REQ]... I think you would even get a quicker response for more user as well by starting an official thread. Anyway just a thought
Cheers

I really do not know, that us just how it was in the galaxy s i9000 forums, if you want you can try it without that and reply back if it works or not.
Okay, perhaps a stupid question from someone who hasn't used a gingerbread ROM yet. What the heck are the "rainbows" that we're talking about?
Rainbows is when the screen totally ****s up looks like tv noise and some colors inbetween
has anyone tried this yet?

well i flashed it without using the odin and it booted but everything is loop force closing so i cant do anything
edit: just realized that u forgot to wipe the caches
edit 2:couldnt reboot in to recovery so i just odin'd and am now in the process of flashing. will post in a few minutes the results
EDIT 3: following the OP is the best way to flash this rom. it booted perfectly with the rainbows in about 2 minutes. Swype needs to be changed to a version that works for the vibrant. Haptic Doesn't work on Home button either. the volume doesnt seem to be as loud as it should either
EDIT 4: everything seems to be working so far. im going to see how this rom fares with the EDT OC kernels used for Asgard instead of the Lidroid kernel in the morning

EDT can speak for themselves, but I think their intention is to not be posted for download on XDA. To my understanding they don't care what one individual does with their work to be used strictly on someone's own personal phone mixed with other roms or anything else you want to do on your phone.
But they're clear that they don't want their stuff distributed via others on XDA.
Not trying to troll, just trying to make sure people aren't scared to use in general the good work EDT puts out, although a post already mentions that the kernel they tried from EDT had some compatability issues with this rom.
Re: rainbows. I don't recommend being intimidated to flash a rom because it has rainbows. This is what it means, when it boots up instead of some animations you'll get a static screen that doesn't show any of what should currently be showing on the screen. You don't really need to see the screen while booting anyways so that isn't a big deal.
What you do need to understand is that you wont be able to see recovery mode because you'll just see a rainbow until you hard reboot the phone so that it starts up normal. There are two ways to address the lack of recovery - just don't worry about it and use ODIN when you want to leave this rom, or if you need recovery then use a work around. To work around it either flash a different kernel to access recovery or use something like screencast to see your phone's screen on your computer. You'll have to do some reading before you understand how to do these work arounds but at least they're there.

Use baksmali and smali to decompile it and then do what he says.
I use ubuntu for that
I get the android.policy.jar and open it, then i drag classes.dex to the desktop
I go to terminal, cd /home/coldflid/Desktop (cuz it's there were i have classes.dex and baksmali and smali)
then enter ( i use baksmali/smali 1.2.5, but if you use another version, change the name for the one you use)
java -jar baksmali-1.2.5.jar classes.dex -o androidpolicy
Then a folder called androidpolicy will be created with classes.dex decompiled
Modify any files you need to mod and then in the same terminal
java -jar smali-1.2.5.jar androidpolicy
an out.dex will be created, rename it to classes.dex and drag it onto android.policy.jar, overwrite the old classes.dex
Good luck

haha okay. imma remove any mention of them from the post
I've been running the rom for about 16 hours and have experienced no hiccups. It's really fast and stable. Vlingo works great as well as the sgs2 lockscreen.
there are only 3 bugs in the entire rom. GPS of course, no haptic on home, and the CWM Tweaks app doesn't work. there's no percentage battery mod either.
p.s. for those that care the Quadrant score on 3 consecutive runs were 971, 1016, & 1027.
How the hell did I miss this?
Looks great Ali, gonna try it out when I have the time.

@Ali1276; Im going to fix the haptic feedback. Give me a little bit and I will post it up the jar file for ya'll.
Can anyone post the No bootloaders Odin JVH, I was trying to delete the Bullet kernel off that because I did not know I had that on there, and then it messed up big time.
Thanks

THIS IS BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE VOODOO LAGFIX ENABLED, THIS IS A BUG ON GB, IF YOU ARE ON RFS (NO VOODOO LAGFIX) THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE YOUR APPS WILL DISAPPEAR, ENABLE LAGFIX (EXT4) AND TRUST ME, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN.

Can i flash over Voodoo Lagfix?
Yes, the kernel includes Voodoo lagfix
Can I use the Arabic patch from Simply Honey?
Yes, it is compatible.
Do I have to be on GB to flash this?
Yes, that was already mentioned.
Are GB bootloaders fully functional on froyo? What do they do?
Yes, the GB bootloaders are fully functional on froyo. They remove the rainbows on GB.
Does this have Wi-Fi calling?
No. we would need a Vibrant-specific leak for that to work.

Can you just create a mirror thru mediafire man all this mirrors suck.
Can I just go ahead and flash from the link that was up..and just flash a modem..or should I wait hopefully I can just flash a vibrant modem of my own
So do we need to flash a modem? Would any vibrant modem work?
Sorry everyone, yes if you already flashed it you can just flash a vibrant modem on top of it.

Hey Ali, few questions....
as the first step...
do i ODIN both the "md5 file" with the "JVH_NO_BOOTLOADERS_PDA.tar" at the same time?
is the tar file a GB rom?
if so... after installing the new rom,
do i need to root install CWM and then follow your next step? (factory reset, flash, wipe.....etc)
please advice...Thanks!!!
this is amazing

The JVH_NO_BOOTLOADERS is a GB rom so that you can get on GB, the md5 is the bootloaders so that you will not experience rainbows, you have to be on GB to flash that is why I put that rom, but you do not need the bootloaders. Basically, you can download both files the Rom and the modem and put them on your sd card. Then odin the JVH thing without checking auto-reboot. When it finishes, pull the battery and use three button method to go into recovery. (If you flashed the Bootloaders beforehand you will have a different way to get into recovery. That way is volume down+power and download mode is volume up + power. Go into recovery, and follow the steps but flash the KB5 modem right after you flash the rom, then wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and fix permissions. Reboot and enjoy.
Everyone, new version uploaded, now all you have to do is flash the rom, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, fix permissions, reboot, do nothing for 15 minutes, and then reboot again, and then you finally you can enjoy...

[7.March.2012][ROM][P75xx] ♫♫ Overcome 10.1 Series v2.3.1 ♫♫

DISCLAIMER: You know the drill, I am not responsible if loading this rom makes your Tab melt, explode, disintegrate, or cause harm to anyone near it. (I am fairly certain none of that will happen though )
Change log in second post.
Welcome to The Overcome Experience - 10.1 Edition . For those of you that don’t know me, let me introduce myself. I am AlterBridge86, the creator of The Overcome Experience. I started developing a ROM on the OG Galaxy Tab (P1000) about 9 months ago and have moved on to having my own brand of ROM’s, Kernels, and Recoverys. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P75xx) is the second device now to get a “Overcome Series” ROM, however it will most definitely not be the last.
My mission is simple. I aim to vastly improve the stock user experience on Samsung devices. I think that Samsung makes fantastic hardware, however fails to bring the same level of software quality to their devices. This is where I step in. I take the base rom, as provided by Samsung, and perform further optimization and modification to it. My mods aim not to completely customize the user interface, but rather add some very useful key functionality while retaining the “stock android” look.

Bootanimation.zip support (cool boot animation included thanks to gammaRascal in the Iconia forums)
Extended Power Menu (Reboot, Recovery, Download)
Install Instructions
If you have some form of CWM on your device already, simply download the ROM, and install zip through CWM. Be sure to wipe data to ensure a clean install. **WIPE DATA IS RECOMMENDED FOR 2.2.0 INSTALL!**
However, if you wish to attempt a non-wipe install (ONLY for users already on Overcome), follow these instructions: Prior to rebooting into recovery for install, go into Manage Apps and clear data on launcher. Immediately reboot into recovery using the power menu - DO NOT go back ot the home screen first. Install zip without data wipe. After install completes, wipe cache. Reboot.
If you do NOT have CWM on your device already or you want to start completely fresh, I STRONGLY urge you to read the excellent guide that we have put together to get Overcome installed

At long last, Android 3.2 has come to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Version 2.0 of the Overcome 10.1 Series ROM marks the first release of the rom based on Android 3.2.
For the P7500, the base was graciously provided to us by brucewein and advocator, as well as the country of Israel. That said, this version unfortunately lacks a lot of locales. In it you will find English, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, and Korean – no more, no less. Hopefully sometime in the near future we get a release from Europe/Asia that will feature many more locales.
For the P7510, we have the now infamous UEKMM build, the “official” US release that was yanked. Despite the reports of it breaking wifi, I have had no issues of the sort and the rom works spectacularly.I suspect that Samsung’s issue is not related to the ROM itself, but the delivery mechanism and/or installation.
On to features in this release – well, the most obvious is Android 3.2 But there are a lot more niceties to be found. I am proud to tell you all that this rom now features the stock Launcher, Browser, Gmail, and Email apps found in Android 3.2.2 (from Xoom). ALL the 3.2.2 apps are phenomenal performers and make the experience on this device the smoothest I have ever seen it.
Along with those apps, I have brought an oft requested feature over from the stock HC experience – it’s animations. The screen animations are now 100% identical to stock Honeycomb and honestly provide a much cleaner, crisper experience. Most all other features have been carried over from previous ROM’s, with the exception of two (that I can think of).
First, for the P7500 folks, there is unfortunately NO extended power menu at this time. The smali code is COMPLETELY different than what it was in 3.1, and even the US version of 3.2 for that matter. I spent many hours trying to make it work with no success. I will of course continue to try to get it working for you all, but to be perfectly honest I think a Euro/Asian release may beat me to it. Secondly, also related to the power menu mod, for the P7510 folks the status bar hide functionality is not yet implemented. I didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time on it, so i’m sure it can be done, I just need to sit down and really dig into it. For the time being however, you WILL have extended power menu (reboot, recovery, download) but will just missing the status bar hide button.
With that said, I’m not going to hold you up any longer and I suggest you all head over to the downloads and enjoy!
EDIT: One more note - it seems the website and its downloads are sucking pretty hard...I apologize for that. Please use the multiupload links in the first post for downloading if you are unable to get through on the website downloads (or they're crawling)

There is, but Samsung being Samsung, can't leave well enough alone and had to put their own spin on it. It's extremely exaggerated in Samsung's version, as opposed to stock HC where it is significantly more subtle.
Wow - sounds fantastic. Thanks for all your hard work. Can't wait to get home and try flashing this one!
One quick question: was there any reason you replaced the stock email/browser/gmail apps but not the calendar/contact apps? My pet hate with the 10.1 is the ugliness that is samsung's touchwiz calendar.

I replaced the Calendar and it worked, but I didn't know which people would prefer as there is a stark difference lol...i figured i'd leave that one alone. The other apps pretty much look the same, but perform better
Contacts on the other hand wasn't having it at all, but admittedly I didn't spend too much time trying to finagel it in. Maybe in a future release if there is enough requests we'll switch to stock Calendar/Contacts

The Browser one is still exaggerated for some reason, i suspect they are being controlled by different sources (again...samsung ugh) but around the settings and stuff it is not as bad as it was

Ok, thanks for the explanation. My preference is definitely toward the stock app , since the week view layout is much more practical (including zooming in/out ability). You can see the difference here:

compared to:
http://static.skattertech.com/files/2011/08/galaxy-tab-touchwiz-calendar.jpg
Same deal with the month view:

compared to:

The stock app is just so much more usable!
thanks for all your hard work: lots of enthusiasm for 3.2 and the Overcome version.
Downloaded and installing as of now...
Just rooted after having this thing for a month, I cant believe i waited that long. Anyway going to give this one a shot and see how it goes.
Well, just flashed 2.0 over the previous version and I'm getting launcher and exchange services fc's. Thought it might be a bad flash so I wiped the dalvik and flashed again to no avail. Fixing permissions in recovery also has no effect. Yes I flashed the version appropriate to my device (7510). Any suggestions besides starting over from stock?

1 rule i learnt from flashing since g-d knows when. A clean wipe is the best way to get a rom working right. if you are having FC clean install is your best option. I would recommend an app called appextractor it works great on restoring apps from your nandroid backups.

Yeah you should do a full wipe. Wipe data, cache, and dalvik.

Like others suggested you will unfortunately need to do a full wipe...I should have mentioned that in the first post..I'll edit it now.
Missed the old non-TW HC . . Glad I decided to come back to it
Very well done Thanks!!

If you do NOT have CWM on your device already or you want to start completely fresh, I STRONGLY urge you to read the excellent guide that we have put together to get Overcome installed
Do you mean wipe data/factory reset or wipe cache partition?

Thanks. I was looking for something to breath some life in to this old tablet. I installed it and so far its going well. I like the voice notifications.
rom works well and is fast. is there a way to turn off voice notifications?
Yes. It's not actually voice notifications... I changed the lock, unlock, and boot sound. I think the lock and unlock ones only work when it is on swipe. If you use a pattern or pin I don't think it does. You can turn off lock sounds in settings or use root browser and navigate to /system/media/audio/ui/ there you will see the lock, unlock, and power on. (Lock_none_effect.ogg, PowerOn.ogg, and Unlock_none_effect.ogg) You can either delete them or rename them. You will also see the original sounds, I renamed them with .bak at the end so if you want the stock sounds back delete the others then rename the files ending in .bak. All you have to do is delete the .bak off of the name.
Also, these files I used are not in any special format, I simply downloaded them from Zedge and used Root Browser to rename them. They are actually mp3 files renamed to ogg. You can change them to whatever you want, just make sure you rename it exactly how the original was named and change permissions of the files to 0644 before you reboot. It is 3 checks down the first column and just the top check of the middle column. Leave the rest unchecked.
Let's try this.
Maybe it will bring new life to my kids tablet.

Great rom, thanks for your work!
Happy to see some development for this tablet again! I will try this out some day
*Edit: Can't you add like a way to switch between a few different themes, like in the systemUI folder, you could have the other themes but with another ending (like Icon1.IconTheme) and then it would rename itself to the file that it's overwriting
Awesome work

No problem. I appreciate the kind words. I was late to the party...only got this thing about 6 months ago...really cheap from a friend. As long as I have it I will keep modding it, though. At least until I can port something else like MIUI ROM or something.

Yes, It is set up to install a raw boot.img and a raw system.img, so no need to wipe data. Just cache and dalvik.

@RealWelder Any plans to introduce your own OTA updates system into settings?
There is absolutely no problem with downloading and flashing an update but just for convenience so to say
