I have tried different car chargers, only this one make my nexus showing rapid charging on screen.
I got it from amazon, here is the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Type-C-Charger-Tronsmart-Charge-Technology-USB/dp/B0146FK3G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445418633&sr=8-1&keywords=type+c+car+charger

Droid-life has an article showing that this charger gets close to providing the same amps as the stock wall charger. I'm definitely buying one today.

Could you check with an app like Ampere and compare numbers to the included wall charger? I'm guessing it's 2.4A and not the full 3A. Still faster than 2A at least but not the full potential.

will do that later, but droid-life already make an test, check here:
http://www.droid-life.com/2015/10/19/nexus-6p-nexus-5x-quick-charge/
Update 3: Last one for me, then it’s on to the engineers to try and give you even more clarity here. This morning, I started my phone at 40%, gave each charge up to 2% charge, grabbed a screenshot, then wound them back to 40% to do the next charger. Here are the results.
Idle phone: 118mA
Official LG USB Type-C charger: 2642mA
Aukey QC 2.0 PowerBank: 1241mA
Original Turbo Charger: 1314mA
Hikeren 5V/3A Thunder Charger: 1988mA
Samsung Fast Charger: 1961mA
Tronsmart QC 2.0 Car charger: 2511mA
I can't see 3A current in the original charger, but seems the tronsmart charger can give almost the same current as the original ones.

Interesting. The Tronsmart for them gave only 1.8A but could be because it was done at a higher battery percentage.
And I'm willing to bet that at very low battery (5-15%) the stock charger does 3A.

I just got my phone and I'm merely topping off the battery, but Ampere first gives an error in inability to gauge battery charge then asked to switch modes... then it only shows around 1A for the OEM charger. So not sure we are gonna get good reading from that app. I guess it's possible that the amps tapper off when the battery gets close to full, but there seems to be better testing involved here.

I believe I saw a video or read an article that explains that all fast charging tech basically works the same. The more empty the battery the greater the charge. As it gets full it'll be less. So topping off and only getting 1A could be right.

Full disclosure, @Tronsmart provided me a unit in exchange for an unbiased review. I've been using this charger for a few days on my Nexus 6 and have to say I'm very happy with it. I have a few Quick Charge 2.0 devices but also have a Nexus 5X and 6P on the way, so I wanted something that could handle any device. The Quick Charge port delivers, rapidly charging my Nexus 6 without any issue. The included 1m cable is very thick, as is the fixed Type C cable. My Nexus 5X showed up today, and officially it will not charge as quickly as the included 5V/3A charger the phones come with as this tops out at 5V/2.4A. That said, the fixed Type C cable registered as "rapidly charging" so while it may not be quite as fast as the 15W wall charger it's delivering enough power for the phone to indicate rapid charge. I'm very happy with this car charger since it offers both the old and new options until Type C becomes more ubiquitous.

Have you got the 6p? my bro's order still pending. If you get the 6P, please also test if it will rapid charging it, and show us some photos.
It's helpful to hear your review.

Glad it helped, no 6p yet. I'm still pending too

For that price, you may as well try it. I will say though, the cable you use could make the difference and then there may be a handshake issue for it to get a full 3a charge. I think it is still very much unknown which type of car charger can provide the full 3a until they get tested. My guess is that you will need a true USB-C type that is also rated for at least 3a.

First review on Amazon is:
Cheap
Blew up (sparked, smoked), without even having anything plugged into it. Used it once.
There are a couple other reviews that say it doesn't charge at 3A.
I'd steer clear, but that's just me.

Anyone read this?
http://www.techtimes.com/articles/9...-chip-and-a-soldered-usb-type-c-connector.htm
"The Nexus 5X currently does not have a Quick Charge feature. However, this teardown attests it is equipped with the ability to support the feature in the future, since it houses the Qualcomm SMB1358, Quick Charge 2.0 IC. Given the fact the 5X's USB-Type C connector is supported by Qualcomm, a possibility exists that this feature could soon be activated for the device."
Is that true? How to activate the quick charge 2.0 on Nexus 5x? can't wait for this, developer!!!!!

When I used the AmazonBasics Charger (2 USB ports, claiming up to 2A each) with an A to C cable my 5X says 'Charging Rapidly'. (Apologies for no links - new user account)
I haven't tried it with Ampere yet - I wasn't expecting it to say that at all, I was just looking to keep things topped off during my commute this morning.

Mailman just delivered the Tronsmart. Seems well built. It's odd that they chose to hardwire the cable to the charger rather than putting a female USB C port on the charger and then including a USB C double ended cable.

The All-in-One Nexus 7 Charger Issues thread

Update 8/9/12:
janedoesmith did a bunch of testing with different charger and cable combinations. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29983624#post29983624
Sounds like the most common problem is just cables with micro USB connectors that are too short.
----
There are a handful of threads that are a mish mash of good and bad/non-information. The N7 charger situation is a mess and finding a charger that works well is
almost impossible. It seems the cable you use is important, too.
"Confirmed working" chargers are chargers that work at > 500mA
Confirmed working 3rd party charger/cable combos (Updated 7/30/12):
- OEM Asus charger / $25 / ~1.8A / 3' cable
- HP Touchpad charger / ~$15 / ~1.6A / 6' cable
- Blackberry 1.8A Playbook charger / 1.8A rated / $15 / 6' cable
- Asus Transformer charger model AD827M / $? / 2A / length?
- Nokia AC-10U / 1.2A / $? / 6ft integrated cable
- Blackberry 700mA charger / 700mA rated / $5 / 6' cable
-------------------------------------------------------------
airphoto has noticed the actual micro usb connector is a little longer on the OEM cable than a typical cable. This is the only confirmed physical difference we know about at the moment.

Here is my experience:
- Chargers seem to work in 3 different ways: 1) they'll charge at full capacity, 2) they'll charge but slower than they are rated, or 3) they won't charge at all (and the N7 will NOT show a charging icon) (Update: Chargers that don't show a charging icon will actually trickle charge, roughly 5% an hour)
- Shorting the data pins on a charger that doesn't charge at all (#3 above) results in NO CHANGE
- The USB cable you use is important, in what way I'm not sure. Using a cheapo cable I have with the OEM 2A charger results in my N7 charging slow, probably 350ma.
And here are the chargers I've tried with results:
- OEM charger with OEM cable: Charges from 0-100% in about 3 hours
- OEM charger with cheap cable: Charges from 0-100% in 18 hours or worse if the screen is off, drains FASTER than it charges with screen on
- Blackberry 700ma charger (integrated cable): Charges from 0-100% in about 8 hours, which is in line with what you would expect with it's output
- Cellet 1000ma charger with any cable: will not charge at all
- Cellet 1000ma charger with data pins shorted: will not charge at all
- Motorola dual charger (Razr Maxx): Same slow charge as above, about 18 hours to charge fully
In addition, I've used a handful of different brands and types of generic cables. Something is different about the OEM charger but no one (AFAIK) has been able to identify it yet. There is clearly more at play here than the rated charge rate, so if that is your only comment, please keep it out of this thread.

the blackberry 1.8a (folding blades) rapid charger works great. And I understand it's friendly with quite a range of devices. surprisingly the little Nokia 1.2a fast charer works very well. maybe a tiny bit less fast than OEM but acceptable. and can be had for around $5 bucks.
I just ordered one of the cheap USB-to-USB Galaxy Tab 10.1 adapters to test with the Nexus 7 on 2A-rated chargers which don't seem to charge at 'fast' speed.
Cheers,

It works fine. It's based on a standard for high amperage charging.
I made my own using a thread in the Galaxy Tab forum.
Asus Transformer charger for my TF101 uses Model AD827M charger that puts out [email protected] or [email protected] and works great. Fast and small.....

OEM Charger and Cable - About 1-2 hours. Its was only 3 on my first charge
I personally is having problem with OEM charger and cable not charging my N7 at all (shows 'No charge'). May be a faulty battery or something but I'll deal with google later.
Anyways, as related to your "clearly more at play", have you ever heard of the Apple charger mystery? At first people were wondering why some chargers work and some don't. Apparently, Apple chargers actually send voltage down the data line, which you would think no device would draw power on. What happens is that when the data line is at certain voltage, the i devices will read that as connect to power adapter, connect to computer, etc. Therefore, aftermarket chargers that only supply power on the usb power lines are not recognized as valid chargers.
So, with that in mind, maybe N7 is looking for the same thing in the data line coming from the charger. Maybe. And if you use a usb cable that's purely for charging, i.e. no data line at all, then it won't recognize it. Just a guess.
can't post url, but google "ladyada minty boost charge" and you'll see a result on "the mystery of apple device charging"

How long did it take to charge the N7 with this?
I'm having issues with my OEM charger/cable.
I used the tablet until it shut itself off. Plugged it in overnight. 9 hours later and the thing had charged 10 percent! (Tablet was off and showing charging icon, but it only moved up one tic in 9 hours)
I decided to try my Galaxy Nexus charger. About 5 hours later, I had a fully charged Nexus 7.
I'm hoping it's an issue with the OEM charger/cable, because otherwise my Nexus 7 is flawless and I don't want to do a full exchange. Hoping Google will let me swap chargers out
When I'm at my desk I use the usb cable from my Logitech k800 wireless keyboard...charges on the slow side but it does charge...also havent had any issues using it to transfer data.
Is there an app that will show the rate at which the battery is charging?
I'd like to try a few charger/cable combination I have lying around.

I'm also having issues with the stock charger not charging the battery.
I'm exchanging the device tomorrow.
Just called Google up, and after a bit of back and forth, apparently I cannot get an exchange on JUST the charger. I have to RMA the entire thing, which I was hoping to avoid because the tablet itself is perfect. Oh well. My replacement order is in. I just hope there are no issues with the replacement tablet.
FYI the AT&T retail car charger (slimline, dual 2A for "phones and tablets") charges my sgs3, original gtab, etc fast but doesn't charge the n7 at all.
I haven't tested with the factory N7 cable yet, I'll do that this afternoon but I don't expect it to make a difference.
The charger issue to me seems to be the cables, the micro usb for the N7 is longer than a normal micro usb.

LG G4, stock battery, quick charging 2.0 and AUKEY charger, is it a safe match?

Hi, I've recently bought a LG G4 and this certified 2.0 charger:

}
...it's still boxed and I've also found a thread here in XDA sayin it doesn't work on G4. For some reasons. I still haven't tested it. Yet the reviews of LG G4 owners on Amazon of this particular charger are all very positive.
ANYWAY
Prior to the LG G4 release I read a few articles that talked about a certain 3300mA battery that was Quick Charge 2.0 compatible.
This puzzles me.
THE QUESTION:
Do I need such 3300mA battery or a QuickCharge 2.0 special battery to *safely* quick charge my LG G4, or is the stock 3000mA battery ok?
(OPTIONAL QUESTIONS)
1) Is it going to damage my phone/battery in some way? Will the battery life get shorter? Will it overheat causing the phone/battery any damage?
2) How is it possible that a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 certified charger does not work with the G4?
3) Could you suggest me a trusted, working charger, possibly under 15 euros?
Thanks for your time!
I think when you get people to say it doesn't work, doesn't mean it won't charge. It means that you won't get the additional benefit of quickcharge 2.0. AFAIK, the phone will still charge at higher amp (5V 1.8A), but will not charge at the QC 2.0 (9V 2A) standard.

Thanks for your answer. I still don't know what to think because LG-G4 owners' reviews on Amazon are all positive and satisfied with the increased charging speed.
What about the main question?
I use the same exact charger on my G4. It's great.
1. No damage, and your battery life won't be any shorter than regular charging. The QC is set to slow down after 60%, if I'm not mistaken.
2. Don't know who told you that it wouldn't work with the G4..
3. Who says you have to pay a lot for quality? It's a charger..

1. I heard 75% myself but either way it slows down.
2. The G4 seems to be finicky to what QC2.0 charger it wants to work with. There are reports of it not working with the aukey and reports of it working with the aukey.
3. Cheap crappy chargers can actually cause harm. If it's QC2.0 certified there's no problem.

I got [phone was off] 30% after 20 minutes
55% after 40 minutes
75% after 1 hour
then took 40 minutes for the remaining 25%, 10 minutes the last 5 percent alone.
Is QC2.0 working? I haven't ever measured normal charge percentages. It was a little bit hot in the first hour, then it cooled down.
I used the USB cable shipped with the AUKEY charger since the instructions say "please use the included cable for your non-iOS device" or something like that.
Should I keep using it or using the original G4 cable will make a difference?
Could you please suggest me a good (possibly cheap) QC2.0 certified charger from another brand that has a more... constant behaviour with the G4?
Thanks for your time
several days ago, i buy aukey multiport QC 2.0. From my experience, QC 2.0 does not give any advantage to G4, compare to original charger. It's need 102 minute from 5% to 100%. Stock charger need 105 minute from 5% to 100%. claim that's QC 2.0 will charge 60% for 30 minute, not proven using aukey. When i test using usb voltage and current tester, aukey using 9V. So i'm curious, is really G4 is qualcomm QC 2.0 compatible ? Yes, it's can use 9V for charging, but not get advantage charging 60% for 30 minute, and not much different from stock charging that only using 5V.
Something make me curious to, why other charger with more than 2A output, needed about 3hour (or more), compare to G4 stock charging (1.8A). Is this stok charging made spesial for fast charging too ? and G4 cannot get advantage from other charger, although it's have more than 2A output ?
My genuine Samsung fast adaptive charger charges my G4 about 20%+ faster. May be an Aukey problem.
I don't think aukey is the problem. It can charge at 9v, than regular 5v. But it not make it more faster than stock charger.
But for Samsung charger, yes, it can charged faster than stock charger, according to my mailing list friend. I'm not try using it yet, just order another QC 2.0 charger. LVSun 4 port charger, can be use for desktop or car charger.

and it does not appear to charge any faster than regular car charger i had before. Ampere+ reports 1375mA or so
I heard that LG G Flex2, G4, is compatible with the Quick Charge 2.0 tech. If the phone is compatible, it is safe to charge it with a quick charger. And my friend use the Aukey 10000mAh Portable fast charger to charge his iphone. He says the charger works well and I wanna try it.
I just bought a Tronsmart Quick Charge charger and it charged from 15% to 100% in about 1:15 hours while a Samsung 2.1A charger (the one that came with my S4) charges it in 4 hours from 10% to 100%
If it slow down it's useless, I need to charged my phone before I leave home, like I have 80% because I used it during morning, but before leave home I need 100%...
So I just charged my phone with the original charger for the first time and it is actually giving me Quick Charge 2.0 speeds. From 27% to 67% in 40 minutes which translates to 1% every minute.
AUKEY Fast Charger ... Works great
I have the Aukey Pa-T1 5 Port Qualcomm 2.0 Certified Charger. It does charge faster than stock LG Charger. Generally, it seems to charge 1% or more per minute but slows down after about 80% charged. I have been using the LG Stock 3000ma batteries with the charger. Aukey guarantees that the charger will not harm the battery or phone. There is a special circuit inside the charger to regulate proper charging. The only way this charger won't work correctly is if you have a knockoff battery or cheap cable.
I have aukey 3 port usb quick charge and it is much faster than original LG one. Almost 3 times faster!

I used same cable. As I know LG charger does not have quick charge, maybe that is the reason.

Car charger for Galaxy Note 5

Hi guys, as we all know, the galaxy note 5 support fast charge aka qualcomm quick charge 2.0 technology, once you use the qc2.0 charger, you won't get back to the regular charger. It can charge your phone from 0%-60% in 30mins. Samsung give us the qc2.0 wall charger, however, if you are looking for some car charger which also support qc2.0, here is my recommend.
http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-quick-charge-2.0-4-ports-rapid-car-charger
I find a review for note 5 and this car charger, check it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWwcobpbskk
Please note, only one port (blue port) support quick charge 2.0 for our note 5, the other 3 port can support up to 2.4A, which is enough for all of our electronics, including iPad.
The tronsmart chargers are certified by qualcomm, see the list here:
https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/quick-charge-device-list
and they are also qualcomm featured qc2.0 accessory brand, see the screenshot here:

and besides this model, tronsmart also have other car charger from 1 port to 4 port. I want to mention the following two:
dual port car charger , which both port support quick charge 2.0, total 36W.
http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-cc2f-quick-charge-2.0-and-voltlq-technology-two-in-one-car-charger
if you have two device which support qc2.0, then this is the accessories you are looking for.
three port car charger, which 2 port support up to 2.4A current, and 1 port qc2.0.

In case you don't need 4 port in your car charger, you can consider this one.

Thanks for this. I always looked for 2.1 or 2.4 amp chargers. I didn't know about the other certification.

Yes, the other three port are all supporting 2.4A, the total watt for this charger is 54w , the most powerful car charger i have ever seen, and yes, the certification is important, because we don't want to risk our car with low quality car chargers.

yes, but this don't support quick charge 2.0, and as far as i know, samsung offer an QI wireless pad with fast charge support (15W) for the note 5, however,it is not for car, and there is no OEM brand making that.

What cable do you use with it. None of the "Samsung" cables on Amazon seem to be "genuine" and mostly get bad reviews.
Here is the latest car charger I received. As with the others I have reviewed this car charger supports QC 2.0 in both ports. I used it on a 3 hour trip. The charger kept my phone topped off even while using the GPS Navigation and listening to pandora. Check it out! Its 16 dollars.

I have a quick charger from Techmatte. It works really well for me, quick charging, and for only $10, you can't beat it.

I have the Choetech 2.0 car charger. It works good. I didn't even know they had faster car chargers until recently. I have 3 wireless chargers so my phone is usually always charged. Choetech C to C 3A/5V wall charger

I received this from Choetech a few weeks ago at a discount for an honest review. We have both a 5X and 6P in the house, so having an extra charger for work was a must but there weren't really any options other than the Google Store. I like this one better because the cable is not fixed, so I can use any cable I want with it. Paired with the Choetech 1m C to C cable this thing performs just as fast as the stock 5X and 6P chargers, topping out at around 2700-2800mAh on Ampere when my battery is around 10-15%. Build quality is excellent and I like that it has the plug on the end of the charger like the stock Huawei charger, not the side like the LG charger. THe cable itself (sold separately) is well built also; some of the other third party ones I've tried are too thick but this one is just the right balance of thick without being overkill. Another big bonus with the cable is that they come in 0.5m/1m/2m/3m lengths so there is something for everyone. I've purchased Choetech products before for my Nexus 5 and 6 and have been very happy. Overall this is a solid combo and I will likely be ordering another one or two so we have some extras around the house/work!

Glad to know it works well for you. I've had bad experience with the longevity of the two Choetech products I bought in the past, neither work anymore so I probably wouldn't buy from them again.
Too bad they dont make a EU version of the wall plug
Bought the following:
USB C to USB C
USB A to USB C
USB C charger
I have tested the USB A to USB C with CheckR/Nexus 6P and it passed. I rarely transfer any data using USB these days, so I am only look for charging. These are great accessories for these prices.
I also have this charger and cable from Choetech. My only (minor) gripe is that this combo takes an hour longer than the factory charger to fully charge my dead phone. I only plan on using this as a spare, so no big deal. The build quality appears to be very good, so we'll see how it holds up over time.
I also have the Choetech type A to C cable, which also works very well. I was initially concerned about Benson Leung's review of this cable and how it did not meet Type C spec. After reaching out to Choetech customer support, they quickly responded and sent me a revised cable this is within spec. I tested the cable with CheckR, and it did pass the test. Choetech's customer service has been great.
Using ampere, I find that the Google stock C->C and choetech c->c cable both charge near the same rate
I like the quality of the CHOETECH cables, this is the first time I've received them. They seem like they're very strong as they are very thick. I get a max 2.4A using the a->C cable

I also have this Cable and charger from Cheotech. To date I do not have any complaints about it and it seems to be working well. Like you stated, it does indeed charge at the same rate of the Google stock charger/cable. For the price, I would recommend it.
I just recently received the choetech c to c cable and the adapter, I think it charges about as fast as the factory charger does. Even if it is a bit slower for anyone, it's still way faster than what we would have without type c, so good enough to me.
The cables do seem to have good build quality, and with my usage of cables, I think they'll probably last pretty well. I've never really had problems with any cables from anywhere before though. But these cables are cheap too, which is nice with how expensive other cables can be. I'm probably gonna use the c to c cable for a car charger I recently bought, and then the adapter is a really nice backup adapter to keep around.

That could be the case. It took 2.5 hours to fully charge my dead 5x, and my phone was not being used during the charging period. That's definitely slower than the stock charger for me.

Like others have indicated above it charges at the same rate as the 5x stock charger for me as well. Quality of both the charger and the cable is good. I keep this charger and cable plugged in on the opposite side of the house from my stock charger and cable. I also plan on taking it along when we travel so I have the convenience of fast charging.
It's nice to have a modestly priced product available that can offer the same charging speed as the stock charger.

[Review] Choetech 10W Wireless charger, and 60W 6 Port charging hub review

Note: I will keep this OP updated if any issues arise, and add in more observations over time.
Choetech 60W 6 Port Quick Charge 2.0 Hub: This charger was given to me for free in exchange for a fair and honest review
Packaging:
When it comes to buying items the first impression is key, and that’s where the packaging comes into play. I don’t generally purchase products again if they seem to be poorly packaging since that indicates the initial level of quality I can expect from a company. This isn’t always the case, but more often than not it makes a difference in my opinion.
Both chargers arrived in a nice discrete brown box that contained a sleeve with all of the relevant information about the products inside. Each charger was packaged well with ample protector so neither one would float around in their box during shipping. The chargers themselves were in plastic sleeves to prevent any damage/scratches which seemed to work well.
Pictures:
Overview
Charging hubs are not always an item that many people would consider, but they provide a great alternative, and avoid clutter. These hubs (I have 2 on my desk right now) are particularly important if you have a situation where outlets are limited, or you want a simple way to charge things on your desk. Personally I don’t like having a bunch of things plugged into a powerstrip, so this is why I prefer using a multiport charging hub. The build quality of the Choetech is quite different from my Tronsmart 80W hub. It features a soft touch finish on ~90% of the charger, and the other 10% is a nice textured plastic. The charger itself is very compact for what it’s offering which is nice. I don’t need a charger with a huge footprint since I already have a lot of things floating around my desk (Surface dock, Surface Pro 4, school work, phones etc..) I also wanted to point out the length of the proprietary power cable. The cable is around 6[ft] which makes it ideal in my case because I can move it around just about anywhere on my desk. I couldn’t do this with the Tronsmart that I also have because the power cable was about half of that length.
What’s inside:
-60W 6 Port charging hub
-Power cable ~6[ft]
-Micro USB cable ~3[ft]
Ports:
The 60W charger features 6 ports in total, 2 of which support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 standard. The other two ports which are referred to as “Smart Ports” will provide 5V/2.4A charging to supported devices. Since this is a 60W charger it can provide the rated power output for all 6 ports simultaneously which makes it great for when you need to charge a bunch of devices at once. I have 3 phones, an Android Wear watch, and 2 external batteries that I can plug into the hub if I really need to charge them at the same time. There is ample room between each port, so any if not all cables should work just fine. I tested around 15 that I have laying around without any issues.

I think Choetech made a good multiport hub in a small package that has a lot to offer. I didn’t experience any issues, and I enjoyed the soft touch finish on the charger. I see no reason to not recommend using this hub if it’s something that you need.
Choetech 3 Coil Fast Wireless Charger
Overview
I’ve owned a plethora of wireless chargers over the years, but I sold most of them with their accompanying phone. With wireless charging the design, and ease of placement is what will make or break a charger for me. The Choetech 10W Fast Wireless charger has some nice features that some of my old ones did not. (For reference I’ve owned qi chargers from TYLT, Aukey, Nokia, Anker, RavPower etc.) Choetech made the charger with a low profile, and elongated shape to help with the placement of your phone. On the underside of the charger there are 4 feet that help keep it from sliding around, unfortunately in my case it still moves around freely on both my night stand and desk. (YMMV on how well it stays in place) On the top there is a ‘wireless charging’ logo that is actually a very minimally raised rubber insert that keeps your phone from sliding off. I tried to move my slippery S7 Edge around on it, and it did move, but nowhere near as easily as it would without the added grip. There is an indicator light on the top toward the micro USB input that will glow a different color based on the charging speed and state (see the below color code table). I haven’t experienced any placement issues other than noticing how the S7 Edge acts when you move it off the pad and back on swiftly. It’s virtually impossible to not place the phone on the pad and not have it charge, so that’s great!
What’s inside:
-Qi 10W Fast charger
-Micro USB cable ~3[ft]
Ports:
The wireless charger only features 1 port, and that’s a micro USB input for the pad. It is oriented “Nexus Style” which means it’s upside down relative to how Samsung and other OEM’s have their port. I don’t mind it being this way, and frankly it doesn’t make a difference it was just an observation.
Charging
Note: You need a QC 2.0 charger to power this wireless charging pad in order to use the 10W fast charging.
I will update this area with a detailed graph of the charging speeds once I collect enough data (1-2 days of usage)
15-100% Charging Test Compared to the stock charger
All Chargers
Just the Wireless Chargers
The Choetech 10W wireless charger does charge your phone faster than the Samsung Fast wireless charger as can be see in the above graph. All of the chargers were tested the same way from (14% battery) with data recorded in intervals over time.
Testing the voltage without a phone
Standard Non-QC 2.0 port test
Overall
I’ve always enjoyed wireless charging more so than any other type (including USB Type-C) due to its convenience. Choetech made a nice simple high quality wireless charger that I plan to use every day (even when my Samsung one arrives) because I like how it’s designed, and the fast charging capabilities.

Hi, does this actually work with the S7 (edge)? On every ad I've seen for it it says "This wireless charger is not compatible with S7 or S7 Edge."
Now I cant imagine why it would be incompatible but its something that they have put up and it would be great if you could clarify this for us.
I'd like to get one to fit into my ram mount to make a hoky wifi car mount but I'd like to know if it works with the S7E first.
Cheers.

yes it works just fine the S7E but you need a18W wall adapter nkt the stock Samsung one to use it since it requires a higher input current.

Ah, cheers.
I've got a QC quick charge 2.0 compatible car charger, do you think that that will run it OK? And if it doesn't will it still work just at a lower speed?

Is there such thing as a Fast Charge/QC 2.0 for wireless charging?

It will not work at all with Samsungs wall adapter included with the phone. You need a QC2.0 18W power supply to use the charger; I have seen it work with lower rates ones but just not Samsungs wall charger

What car charger are you trying to use? I have about 5 QC 2.0 ones that I could test with it if you wanted.

Thank you very much.
It's the "AUKEY 30W 2 Port USB Car Charger"
http://www.aukey.com/product/cc-t1-car-charger-car-charger
And if you want a version with two ports enabled... Aukey has great products.

That charger will work fine, it outputs DC 5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A which means 10W, 18W, 18W so the charger will work fine since it pull use the 9V/2A. I've tested mine with a car charger rated at the same outputs (Tronsmart dual port 36W QC 2.0) without any issues. I know another member on here is using this wireless charger in their car too, if I can find that OP I'll link it to you

I'm using the version I posted above with the Cheotech unit in my car and it works great. I can navigate with screen on and stream audio via Bluetooth, and the phone charge level will increase. Just excellent.

I was thinking about doing the same with mine seeing how I don't have anywhere else to put my other wireless chargers so if I do I'll post pictures.
My "plan" is to hot glue the charger to my X-grip ram mount and leave it plugged in all the time.

I would use an 2 part epoxy instead because hot glue isn't know for being rigid.
