[MOD] {ROOT} Enable Dual Window for all apps. - LG V10 Android Development

This makes any app eligible for use in Dual Window.
In build prop find "persist.splitwindow.support_all=false" and change to "true"
I enjoyed this on my G4 now even more so on my V10 [emoji2]

Thanks :good:why in the world would they default that to false?

Because not all apps work in dual window. I'm getting fc's with some of the ones they allow. Hangouts especially.

Also some apps aren't meant to work in dual window. Get the flex mod dual window app and you can choose what to enable.

Got to make sure you set permissions back to proper. Think it's rw r r off top of my head. Just check it before you edit and then set back to same and reboot

do i actually have to chat or video chat with someone? because is still dont get the fc's. not saying it wont. i just think im not doing the proper step to recreate the fc. I will state that i use hangout 95% of the time for sms and mms and 5% for chat or video chat.

Maybe it's with the second app you are trying to use. Some may work with hangouts, some may not?

Just a heads up, but this actually soft-bricked my phone. I'm guessing I did something wrong or edited the wrong thing, but definitely scared me ****less because their is so little development on this phone as of right now that I thought I had a paperweight.

Mist have been something you did editing the build prop. There are recovery images, stock firmware, twrp, etc. It's very safe right now, as far as soft bricking. Just don't flash a ROM from another device.

For some reason editing it manually will somehow mess things up and cause a soft-brick (maybe permissions?) but using the build prop editor was 100% easy and idiot proof. Thanks! worked great this time and no brick.

Yes, if you didn't change permissions, that's probably your culprit.

Tried this with buildprop editor, rebooted into a bootloop. Recovery has the option to enable USB debugging. Using this, is it possible to undo the change in (for example) terminal emulator, rewriting the original line? That way I wouldn't have to factory reset. I already tried wiping the cache (wasn't expecting it to work, but it seemed harmless).

Thanks good to know. Can you please point me in the right direction on how one might accomplish that...?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Use a file explorer with root access like root explorer or es file manager and look in /system/app for
HtcLockScreen.apk
Then rename it to
HtcLockScreen.apk.bak
And reboot
If you want to change back just remove the .bak from HtcLockscreen.apk.bak and reboot
A known Issue you have with doing this is that calls and text are not visible until you unlock the screen.

What ROM are you on? Also, did you double check that it was renamed? I did the same and ES File Explorer wouldn't do it. Had to use Root Explorer and mount as Read/Write.
Are you on the stock unmodified kernel? If so that's why htc has system write protection in the kernel any changes made to system get reset upon reboot.

I dont see how this is an "easy" way, when all you have to do is go in Developer Options and click one box...
Obviously, with Xposed installed, neither way works, and I would not recommend messing with the build prop if you are on 4.4 and have no custom recovery..

First, the option is not in developer, not in the d958 at least, second, i use xposed, the last build supports art, and about the build prop, of course is dangerous, but since there is kdz and tot methods, you can always return to stock
And the last, you are not forced to do anything proposed here in xda, we post procedure we did to see if somebody wants to try it, this is xda

Speaking for myself (and I guess many many others), TrueCaller is an anti privacy solution, once you accept to join it immediately uploads your entire phone/address book to their servers to be able to share with other users (that's how it work, you girlfriends/wife/boss secret number will be on their servers, and when that number calls someone using truecaller they will see the name you have in your address book).
I just HATE this....
I added both of you name . Thank you

Hey. Thanks to all the posts here and to whoever posted that zip which flashes the Google dialer.
I made a flashable zip which deletes the truecaller apk, CM dialer and in call UI (DialerNext and INCallUINext) and replaces it with the dialer/call UI from the most recent CM 12.1 Nightly. Main advantage is that it has more forward/reverse lookup features and I think maybe also call recording depending on your location (doesn't seem to work in the USA but I managed to record a call in the UK).
I'm sharing it here for whoever is interested but flash at your own risk. Please note, it only worked for me on a clean flash so you will probably need to factory reset to get it to work. If you try a dirty flash you may end up without a dialer.

I suggest this zip - https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/cos-12-1-annoyances-fixes.350766/.
The above zip actually creates secondary contacts app. Apart from that, it's all same.

Ya I went back to temasek cm12.1 for bacon because there were a few bugs I just couldn't live with so I'm not on COS12.1 anymore. But thanks for the new zip if I go back I'll try it out!
