[ABANDONED] AndroPlusKernel v43 - Xperia Z5 Android Development

***ABANDONED***

Great for this news. Your Z3 kernel is very good.
Just waiting for Z5 LB root or UB root + DRM Function restoration.

i am very willing to try stuff like twrp and kernels, but right now i'm too scared to lose drm.
what are the odds of restoring the functionality later on? or would it not be possible without a backup of your own specific device?

Will keep an eye on this thread, to see what positive benefits your kernel brings

Noob question if you lose drm can you get it back by unrooting and flashing a factory rom? Excuse my ignorance

Nope. It's gone forever!

Great work, everything is working fine. Xposed installed, camera works with no force-closing.
Edit: @AndroPlus Do you are you using kcal? any preferred settings?

My Z5's screen is perfect for me compared to my old Z3's bluish screen, so I'm not using kcal for now.

Same here, watched the steps to fix the camera issue. Everything works.

@AndroPlus Do I need to re-flash xposed every time I flash a newer version of the kernel? and do the camera fix again?

@AndroPlus - No need to do the deodexing on the camera apk anymore! Camera 2.0.apk plays wonderfully with Xposed!

ok question. i might just take the leap and unlock the phone and install a custom recovery and kernel and flash my own decrapped rom.... blabla bla losing drm.
i don't care about x-reality so that's one off the list. the other one is (of course) camera (low light) quality..
in what situation will you notice difference in quality? only low light shots? only in auto mode or also in manual mode?
am i missing some other important stuff that i'll lose with drm?
thanks in advance

I think it only affects performance, but you may save some (not big) battery thanks to faster I/O.

Hi, nice and lean working Kernel, works perfect ^^
I have a question:
Are the 4 Core's from little.CPU normally always online or do they use a hotplug-solution ? if yes is it seperatly managed from the big.CPU or together ?
Edit: i got a issue with my Z5 (E6653), when connected to my pc, the Z5 always reconnect after some time, any solution or probaly workaround ?

I think LITTLE cores are controlled by qcom's hotplug.
I'll look into the USB connection bug.

Thanks

Hello, i would like to start by saying thank you for all your hard work appreciated i have used your kernels from v1 to v5 with out a problem but after updating to version 6 this morning my phone boots come on completely shows my home screen then the notification light blinks red a few times and it boot loops like that over and over. going to try flashing version 5 back for now see if that fixes my issue.
EDIT: befor i tried the steps above i tried flashing the update zip again in the recovery and all is well again

[ROM][DISCONTINUED][UNOFFICIAL][SGP321] CM11 - KitKat 4.4 [15112013]

DISCONTINUED: I discontinue this in favor of my OMNI-Build. CM is too broken at the moment for me (Graphic glitches as well as regular freezes). Also the FXP builds seem start to roll in. OMNI works fine for me and I will put out a new build tomorrow.
Threw a working CyanogenMod 11 build together. As the bundled CWM does not work, I replaced it with TWRP.
TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
EDIT: BE WARE, it seems that the GPU driver screws up and the tablet starts to hang under certain circumstances. I am working on it.
EDIT2: Seems it has nothing to do with the GPU drivers. ReInstalled and wiped and it worked fine the last few hours. Maybe its the GApps. Investigation still ongoing.
Working:
- HSDPA+ (I have no LTE capable card, so I cannot test LTE, but HSDPA+ works)
- Bluetooth
- WiFi
- GPS
- Camera
- Video
- Sound
- Hardware Acceleration
- Rotation
Not working:
- CWM (flashes broken) - replaced it with TWRP
- SELinux is set to permissive for now (otherwise data and cache do not mount)
- Nothing else found .. yet

Most tablet z users own the wifi version. I hope someone makes a Rom for the masses soon.
i got status 7 error while flashing rom using cwm 6.0.3.2
I have one with locked bootloader, just rooted, with not Cwm or twrp.
Will I be able to install this ROM if I installed twrp recovery? Or do I also need to unlock bootloader before flashing?
If yes what are the fastest way to do this.
What stock now

Nice find man, im gonna give this a try as soon as it downloads been running cm 10.2 since i got my xtz so been looking forward to this!
Edit: so i flashed over my cm10.2 with cm11 and 4.4 gapps at first and then tried a clean flash of the boot img and installing from recovery. so far its not very stable at the moment for me on my pollux_windy, there is no sound but i keep hearing a clicking sound from the tablet, dalvik / art seems to be working but i was having the laggy issues opening the app drawer and unlocking the screen, it looks really nice so far and im enjoying the google launcher experience but i keep getting random hangs and then reboots at the moment. Just done a clean flash and giving art another try.
Edit 2: No such luck still kinda laggy and no sound but with the click noise repeating every few seconds, just flashed back to cm10.2 coz i need sound :s keep up the good work though guys, really looking forward to this rom!
sorry op not trying hijack thread..
here is 11.23 build i made for pollux_windy..but it is a boot image and system image..have to fastboot it.

ABANDONED!!! [ROM][HYDROGEN/HELIUM][FIXED]CM13 Unoficial 2016-06-14 UNIVERSAL-FIXED

The base rom turned out to be full of small bugs and just not worth it any future work on it. Sorry...
After two days of digging around finally managed to fix the only CM13 release that doesn't have the nasty and so far impossible to fix 3G bug some of us experience with all other CM based releases to date.
I think this ROM by itself deserves a new thread despite the many we have already... Don't you agree?
Fixed Video Playback, Video Recording, Network Location, Speaker Low Volume Level... Those were the major known issues with this version...
Will get us by till 3G bug is fixed(I hope) in later ROMs.
Credits and thank you to:
@ffboy2009[/MENTION] for his 2nd CM13 release this ROM is based on;
@ajsmsg78[/MENTION] for the helium video recording fix;
This is all-in-one Mi Max UNIVERSAL CM13 ROM for both hydrogen and helium devices. It will check an install the proper version for your device.
BUT MAKE SURE YOU ARE RUNNING THE CORRECT TWRP FOR YOUR DEVICE CODE!!! HELIUM WITH OLD TWRP FOR HYDROGEN WILL BRICK!!!
If you are coming from any CM13 rom you can dirty flash. From anything else including RR clean flash is recommended! Backup device before install etc but you know what to do if reading this...
As usual install gapps etc...
Report bugs and I will try fixing them but I am very time/resources limited during the week.
Download: cm-13.0-20160614-UNOFFICIAL-hydrogen+helium-fixed_nijel8.zip
PS. Will appreciate if you guys don't link the ROM download directly anywhere else... Refer to this thread instead... Let's keep it all in one place for better feedback. Thank you!
Just did a clean install. Video recording doesnt work. Tried adding the fix line in build.prop but didn't help.

In general, how does the battery life compare on cyanogenmod ROMs compared to miui?
What about reception/signal compared to miui?
Also, I assume we don't need a locked bootloader for this

This ROM should tie people over until xiaomi releases the kernel for our devices and some developers come into the picture. Amazing how much was accomplished by nijel8 and asjmsg78, both who aren't developers but had enough curiosity about our devices to tinker with it to make it a better device for all. Show some appreciation by making a donation to these guys or we all be stuck with the crappy miui ROM with no android auto and delayed notifications!

Thats nothing to worry about.................... my friend
I personally use lcd density = 320 , so it is set to 320 in build.prop
just change it back to 480 which is default size and your phone will be back to its normal stock PPI

I don't know what is wrong, and here's my steps:
1. flash stock firmware via flashtool, wipe all.
2. flash kernel via fastboot ( fastboot flash boot 376_NO_SU.img ).
3. flash SuperSU via twrp, wipe cache/dalvik, and reboot.
4. flash deodexed patch via twrp, wipe cache/dalvik, and reboot.

Question: Is it possible to install something like this on a non-rooted phone? I really don't want to unlock my bootloader for now in order to root and install recovery! Thanks for your mod!
NO
It's not possible to install any mod on lock bootloader on our Xperia devices
Because in any mod there are some files which we need to add or replace to the system.
For adding any files to the system you need to (root/custom recovery install)
To install any mod /tweak from external source you need unlock bootloader

Truth, but, I realized that the option above mic sensitivity(check screenshot attached) is missing on 7.1, which, in my opinion, means that sony has disabled some other futures, along with volume level on headphone.
In other words, I'm not sure whether increasing the volume output on 7.1 will give me the sound quality I have on 7.0.
Sony had removed the option for LDAC on my old Z3 compact as well, when I moved from 4.4 to 5.0.1 and didn't revert it back on 6.0.1.
Strange thing that I have no idea why it happens.

Anyway, I was referring to the rumours that camera quality is not the same on rooted phone with DRM fixed by ta_poc versus full stock. I have actually seen only one guy here on other thread complaining about the quality, while others have written, that quality is the same. The guy who complained said to have two same XC, one rooted with DRM fix and one stock, but failed to provide any proof or evidence, even asked more than twice. I myself use rooted XC 7.1.1 with ta_poc TA partition mount and can see no worse function or quality of camera ..

I myself use rooted XC 7.1.1 with ta_poc TA partition mount and can see no worse function or quality of camera ..

Alright, I appreciate your insisting. I might give a try on experimenting with unlocked bootloaders etc some time later.
has anyone managed to increase the internal speaker volume, esp during calls?

Truth, but, I realized that the option above mic sensitivity(check screenshot attached) is missing on 7.1, which, in my opinion, means that sony has disabled some other futures, along with volume level on headphone.
In other words, I'm not sure whether increasing the volume output on 7.1 will give me the sound quality I have on 7.0.
Sony had removed the option for LDAC on my old Z3 compact as well, when I moved from 4.4 to 5.0.1 and didn't revert it back on 6.0.1.
Strange thing that I have no idea why it happens.

I don't know what Sony disabled, I am on 7.1.1 and all options from your screenshots are there...

Oh my mistake then, they put it on Accessory Settings on 7.1.1 as it seems. Thanks for clarryfying.Still, the sound output on 7.0,which I'm currently on, is way better for me in terms of volume. I'll stick to it until Oreo comes for our devices and give it a try!

[HowTO] Treble for S9

Hello everyone,
After seeing the news that Treble images were properly working on the S9, I decided to give it a go and see for myself how good/bad was it working.
The from my findings, the only thing that is NOT working is the auto-brightness.
Here are the installation steps :
Make sure you got TWRP installed properly, with DM-Verity and Encryption disabled.
Download this : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617958348
Place it in the root of your device, then navigate to TWRP, click install, click install Image, select the transfered system.img, and select system image.
Make sure to full wipe after that, and reboot, and you are good to go.
This is awesome. As soon as I'm able to get my hands on an Exynos variant S9, I'm buying one for Treble support alone.
Auto-brightness doesn't work because the framework doesn't define any brightness levels for each lux level. You can make an overlay to fix that or modify the framework at source.

It's also framework related so very much unlikely to happen.
have you guys also tested if the telephoto lens activates when you zoom in?

Porting the frameworks has recently happened for Huawei and Sony. Unless Samsung are deliberately obfuscating things, it should be possible to do the same for the Exynos versions of the S9 and S9+.
Can someone post screenshots
Im so excited .. this is one of the biggest reasons why I will switch to s9+
Hi sorry for a noob question I am new here, after flashing the image will I get stock android ? Like lineage os ?

Hey thanks a lot for helping,
I have one more question, when I flashed aosp ROM it worked fine but with the brightness glitch, however when I flashed lineage os it just bootlooped so any suggestions ?
Thanks
26th builds of 8.1 are okay for brightness but fingerprint is broken for some and causes touch to stop but reboot, unlock then a few lock/unlock cycles it's good temp fix til next reboot
