Clear Stereo
NOTE - V3 is only for OREO stock rom /stock based rom user,
Nougat user flash V2 only don't flash the V3 on nougat rom.

Question: Is it possible to install something like this on a non-rooted phone? I really don't want to unlock my bootloader for now in order to root and install recovery! Thanks for your mod!

NO
It's not possible to install any mod on lock bootloader on our Xperia devices
Because in any mod there are some files which we need to add or replace to the system.
For adding any files to the system you need to (root/custom recovery install)
To install any mod /tweak from external source you need unlock bootloader

I really wish there was a way to instal cwm on locked bootloaders or root locked ones, like I used to be on my Z3 Compact!

What is the reason you wont unlock the bootloader? There are no downsides with a TA backup first.

Plus many guys' rumors of camera being not as good as the stock, untouched one, even after using the drm fix.
Either way, I am now on 7.0,enjoying the best sound ever at my phone. When 8 comes I'll give it a chance!

Truth, but, I realized that the option above mic sensitivity(check screenshot attached) is missing on 7.1, which, in my opinion, means that sony has disabled some other futures, along with volume level on headphone.
In other words, I'm not sure whether increasing the volume output on 7.1 will give me the sound quality I have on 7.0.
Sony had removed the option for LDAC on my old Z3 compact as well, when I moved from 4.4 to 5.0.1 and didn't revert it back on 6.0.1.
Strange thing that I have no idea why it happens.

Anyway, I was referring to the rumours that camera quality is not the same on rooted phone with DRM fixed by ta_poc versus full stock. I have actually seen only one guy here on other thread complaining about the quality, while others have written, that quality is the same. The guy who complained said to have two same XC, one rooted with DRM fix and one stock, but failed to provide any proof or evidence, even asked more than twice. I myself use rooted XC 7.1.1 with ta_poc TA partition mount and can see no worse function or quality of camera ..

Alright, I appreciate your insisting. I might give a try on experimenting with unlocked bootloaders etc some time later.

has anyone managed to increase the internal speaker volume, esp during calls?

Oh my mistake then, they put it on Accessory Settings on 7.1.1 as it seems. Thanks for clarryfying.Still, the sound output on 7.0,which I'm currently on, is way better for me in terms of volume. I'll stick to it until Oreo comes for our devices and give it a try!

Folks not using a Chinese model Z2 will want to copy the soundtweaks section out of the included build prop otherwise your about/system information will be wrong. I just copied and pasted the #soundtweaks section into my build.prop, threw that in the zip and flashed away.
Mine is a D6503 for example.

Works great here. Almost all of the other sound mods are crashing on my phone (well any that use a separate DSPengine.apk to allow a separate equalizer). Like I posted earlier, be wary of the included build.prop. Just copy the sound tweaks section out and add it to your own unless you want your phone to show up as a Chinese Z2 variant.
here is a modified version with D6503 build.prop if you don't want your phone to show as L50w
the mod is working fine, the best so far in term of sound quality.
only issue when rewind/forward the youtube video slider, you lose sound, not sure if it causing by this mod or from the rom. I will check next time I change the rom and report back.
btw you lose sound for the current track/video only, and not ringtones or notification and if you refresh the youtube video the sound is back.

Thanks for that. I made my own (effectively identical) when you first posted the mod for us, I guess I forgot to share it. Sorry guys.
What Custom EQ settings are you guys using with this mod?
This is still the best soundmod available for 4.4.4/.167 in my opinion too.

Ive been trying to figure that out too. I did notice the volume is extremely loud for me on the top setting already. I think i just used the mixerpath file out of your package though (i had been playing with the other two or three that were posted on here by okolos and the soundmod 3.1 and the revolution one but all three didnt do anything better for me, or constantly FCed whenever id try to use their dsp settings). Sorry.

Yes, it is loud but my brother's note 3 is still louder so I'm trying to match
Unless the note has waterproof external speakers as well that is likely never going to happen.

Hi, i renamed the original snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 as snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3bak and moved snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 from your zip to System/etc/snd_soc_msma using root explorer, after that i reboote my phone and came up a pop up updating application 1 of 1, then installing applications and it stucked in this screen for 8 minutes, i rebooted it pressing the reset button ant then it stucked in boot animation, i have a xperia zl c6506 with 454 rooted, what did i do wrong?
Will this mod work on the latest 5.1.1 10.7.0.222 firmware for the XZ/XZR/XZL?
should i flash volume boost & more loudness if i want more loudness or just flash more loudness

[ABANDONED] AndroPlusKernel v43

***ABANDONED***
Great for this news. Your Z3 kernel is very good.
Just waiting for Z5 LB root or UB root + DRM Function restoration.
i am very willing to try stuff like twrp and kernels, but right now i'm too scared to lose drm.
what are the odds of restoring the functionality later on? or would it not be possible without a backup of your own specific device?
Will keep an eye on this thread, to see what positive benefits your kernel brings
Noob question if you lose drm can you get it back by unrooting and flashing a factory rom? Excuse my ignorance

@AndroPlus - No need to do the deodexing on the camera apk anymore! Camera 2.0.apk plays wonderfully with Xposed!
ok question. i might just take the leap and unlock the phone and install a custom recovery and kernel and flash my own decrapped rom.... blabla bla losing drm.
i don't care about x-reality so that's one off the list. the other one is (of course) camera (low light) quality..
in what situation will you notice difference in quality? only low light shots? only in auto mode or also in manual mode?
am i missing some other important stuff that i'll lose with drm?
thanks in advance

A few questions

Im going to root a Xperia Z soon, but I have a few questions.
1. Are there any Cyanogen 12-based rom with the original Xperia camera? It very important that the camera dosnt get worse. My old Sony Ericsson Arc S got a worse camera after installing Cyanogen roms.
2. I remember Sony said that if you root an Z1 or Z2 some drivers for the camera will dissapear and make it worse. It the same with Xperia Z?
3. Or are there any other camera app that improves the performences? FV5? Color os?Camera Next Mod?
4. Are there any particualar Cyanogen 12 based rom that have better batterytime?
5. Are there any app/mod/kernel that allows adjustment of color, white balance, gamma on the display? I want a more natural look on the pciture.

1. Quick answer No! You can try some ported apps.
2. I have no information about this issue but i would say that there cant be any issues.
3. I found that FV-5 has slightly better performance
4. Monthly snapshot have slightly better battery life
5. Color, white balance etc are pretty satisfying since 5.0

Bravia Engine affects only photos and videos after you take them not before and as for the bootloader it depends on whether what rom you want to flash but its always better to ask at the thread rather than guessing

So it dosnt affect the movie file at all? Just when you watch it on the phone? Because then it is just the display it affects or does it do something to the file after the photo is taken?

no it doesnt affect the file, think it as a filter that activates when you are watching an image or video at your phone
1. OK, the Bravia 2 is the one I also can turn off in the display settings?
2. If I root and unlock the phone is it possible to do a full recovery(unroot and lock bootloader) with a stock Xperia android version and get back the Brava Engine 2?
3. I have search for one click root. But dosnt find any for the latest version, I have
C6603 with 5.1.1(10.7.A.0.222). Are there any guide for easy root and how to insall a new rom the easiest way.
4..Is there any special version out there of Cayonogen that is the most populuar? Or are the 12.1 version that is available on Cyanogens website bugfree?
I installed Cyanogen 12.1 and it works great. The only thing that got worse is the microphone. This is my wifes phone and when I speak to her the sound from her microphone crackles. Are there any mod the makes it sound like on the Xperia stock version?
