Did anyone tried replacing Moto X 2014's battery with the one from Moto X 2015? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My X2 has a bad battery (device shuts down with ~20% juice left, gets worse at every charge).
I know it's original battery model is EY30 but I would like to know if X3's battery (model FL40) is compatible with X2. It has way more juice (2300mah vs 3600mah) and it would be sweet if it worked on my X2.
From the pictures I can say that they use the same connector but I can't tell if they have the same size/spessure.

Not looking into dimensions - 99% size incompatible, 3600mAh requires more space.

How long will the internal battery itself last before it needs replaced?

I see a lot of threads about how is the battery life, but I want to know how long the life of the battery would be expected to be? This is my first phone that's had a non user replaceable battery and it made me wonder how long this battery will last me and continue to hold a solid charge?
I know there are variables, and my variable is I only charge it once a day at night on a Qi charger (I know i've read the heat can effect the battery), but surely its the same or less heat than the turbo charger produces I'd think.
What are some realistic life spans on these batteries based on perhaps a moto x history maybe since its similar? It doesnt seem the battery is readily available to purchase on ebay or amazon since the device is still new. When the time comes I'll replace it myself, just wondered of any comments you all may have from experience on similar devices?
Thanks!
I wonder.

A Quantitative Answer to Turbo Charging

Hey guys,
Maybe my internet skills are bad but I have maybe a stupid question. As far as turbo charging goes, what kind of experience have you guys had as far as percentage battery charged after ~15 minutes? I ask because my friend recently bought a Moto X (2nd gen) and I saw that with his battery at ~5-10% that in 15 minutes his phone got up to about 45% (and really hot!)
In my own experience with the Turbo, starting to charge the phone around 10% for 15 minutes gets me into the low to mid 20 percent range. I don't know if that's bad or if the phone's larger battery just means it needs less percentage wise for "8 hours" of use. The phone definitely gets warm but not nearly as bad as the Moto X (2nd gen) that I charged.
Just wondering what the rest of the community has been experiencing in terms of their turbo charging experiences. Of course I've been using the charger that came in the box when I bought the phone new since day 1. For reference I also charged my friend's Moto X using the same charger so I don't think it's a defective charger either.
Charging times rely on battery capacity. Same charger will turbo charge a phone twice with 2300mah than a phone with 3900mah.
as a rule a battery can charge itself relatively quickly the first 80 percent. It's the last 20% that takes a bit of time. So you have to include charging points. Doesn't the charger simply put a higher wattage (voltage in this instance?) in if the device says it is capable of handling it?

I can go from about 15 to 80% in one hour on the turbo charger. It takes another hour or less to get from 80-100%

Xt1095, where the heck do I get a new battery?

Normally I just buy anker batteries for my phone through Amazon but I can't find any for the Moto x 2014 series. I actually can't find any at all that have ratings; I won't buy a battery without a good rating or from a brand I don't trust.
My battery life is just fine at the time being but I do enjoy my Moto X so I'll probably be keeping it for a few years and will want to replace the battery down the road.

Moto G6 Battery Life Question, Did I Get A Bad Unit?

I had a great experience with a Moto G5 Plus so when I needed a new phone I bought a Moto G6 (Amazon Edition) with 4GB Ram and 64GB storage. I've had the G6 2 days and I'm starting to wonder if I got a unit with a bad battery. I unplugged my phone this morning and without even turning on the screen I was at 95% 20 min later. While Playing Clash Royale the battery will drain 1% every 30-45 seconds and it's not a demanding game so it doesn't seem right, I expected more from a brand new phone. Does anyone else have any experience with this phone and is the battery that bad?
I am in the process of returning this phone to Amazon and don't know if I should get another G6 hoping I just got a bad unit or get something else. I like everything about the phone so far except the miserable battery life.
Search youtube videos on G6 gaming and you'll get a better idea. The reviews seem mixed, gsmarena tests show subpar battery life , others seem to show that that its about average. Maybe you've installed some apps that drain the battery very quickly.

It's the Amazon Edition but according to the battery usage the Amazon apps don't use any battery but anytime the screen is on I'm using a little more than 1% battery per minute and that seems crazy. At that rate I'd get about 90 min of use. I had the G5 plus and even after 2 years of heavy use it wasn't even close to that
Do a full discharge/charge cycle (use it until battery drops to 5% then charge full) once or twice and see how it performs because battery stats can be inaccurate. I think Motorola also recommends leaving it on the charger for an hour or two after fully charging to improve the battery calibration. But if you've done that and phone still goes flat in 90mins-2hours even after you've done a factory reset without installing any apps, then return or exchange it. There seems to be alot of complaints about the G6 battery life so you're not the only one.

I am on my second G6 now. The first phone was the 64/4gb Amazon "Special Edition" and I returned it and tried the 64/4gb standard version without the Amazon bloatware, hoping that it may have been the preinstalled apps killing the battery. This phone does a bit better but still no where near what I would expect from a new phone. I get about 10 hours between charges now but that's with minimal usage and it even drains 10-15% while I'm sleeping with no screen on time. If it's like this now I'm worried how bad it will be in a year, I will be lucky to get 2 hours from it and that's not acceptable for a $300+ phone. I have had nothing but good experiences with Motorola but they dropped the ball on this one. I'm going to see if I can return it and just get the 64/4gb Moto G5 Plus. It's on sale for $200 and IMO a better phone then the G6 and at $200 it might just be the best price/performance phone out there.

Question Battery Capacity Question

Hello all,
I got my self a Find X3 Pro a few months ago and I noticed that Accu Battery Pro and Aida 64 Battery, never reach the min capacity of 4400mah or typical capacity of 4500mah
Is this thing a issue ? Or my battery is degraded from brand new ? Or is this a software incorrect reporting issue ?
Thanks in advance !
Make sure to let it charge for about 7 minutes after it reaches 100%. The phone is not actually fully charged when it reads 100.
See here, after the first charging graph
Oppo Find X3 Pro review
The Oppo Find X3 Pro employs a similar display to the one we enjoyed on the Find X2 Pro. It's a 6.7" LPTO AMOLED screen of 3,216 x 1,440 px resolution or...
www.gsmarena.com
Then check again the meters. If they still read 4200, then you may have a degraded battery.
Also, consider that even if the phone is "new", it may have been produced a long time ago (like a year ago or more), thus suffering from some battery degradation already.
I always make sure I let it charge for about 10 more minutes at 100%. Still between 4000mah - 4200mah it displays.
Recently I replaced the battery for an old Mi 5s Plus and after a few charges (3-4) it will show the correct mah of 3800 (~3792mah)
So, did someone actually have these apps display the correct rating of the battery ?
I will give it a try tomorrow, but my phone is 1.5 years old at this point, so I don't expect to see anywhere near 4500 for sure.
I checked mine, but only 2 cycles it showed 89% The phone is 8 months old.
Thank you for your feedback...
My phone is barely 2-3 months old, should I try for warranty ?

Try to charge slowly to 100% using a 3A cable or less and leave it in charge until Aida64 show complete charged, then check charge counter how much mah show. Normally the counter will be a little less respect to declared capacity, like for hard disk the real capacity is not the full declared capacity. My X3 pro is used and charging to 100% show less of 4000 mah but battery life isn't bad.
18 months old phone, about 84% health (only one measurement though)

I'm sorry to tell you but you are mistaken, my ex Red Magic 3 phone indicated my rated capacity for battery and my recently replaced battery for Mi 5s Plus also indicated 3792 mah out of 3800mah, so I presume the issue comes for a incorrectly stored phone when I purchased it or old batch.
I always charge slow or at 1.8A because I'm never in a hurry, I even charged it at 500mah overnight and it went to just 4115 mah out of min 4400mah

No it depend from device to device and also from update cause it change also with kernel version. When I have OnePlus 7 pro always charged slowly bu never reached the full capacity of charger counter, this changed when I tried Oxygen OS 12 India beta, the battery show 4500 in charge counter exactly like the battery capacity. So it can depend from many factors and isn't simply to understand how really battery life is.
Thank you for all of your support and answers !
Yesterday I installed Battery Guru 2.0 and seems a more decent app than AccuBattery, will keep monitoring
AccuBattery and Battery Guru 2.0 tell me that I only have 1598mAh.
Aida64 tell me 3504mAh.
I don't understand...
I only know that my battery life is poor. I arrive with 20% or less at 8:00pm.
It is also true that I have many IOT applications always active, as well for the smartwatch, wifi, BT and GPS always on and also Always On Display all the day.
Cheers.

DO not forget to check the dual cells in the settings of the apps (accu battery and battery guru)
But even so.... 1600 mah x2 => ~3200mah
Very very unusual for this phone and battery
