[ROM][WIP] AdvancedStock for HTC 626s (MetroPCS/Cricket) - Desire 626 Android Development

Wiki with more information about this ROM: http://www.urgero.org/AdvancedStock626
CRICKET USERS:
This ROM works for Cricket Variant phones now.
APN's for Cricket are not enabled in this ROM yet, so follow these instructions to setup the APN's for data & MMS.
Play Store might crash some times, or on first boot, clear the play stores and google service cache in settings
This ROM does not, and will not have Crickets carrier apks.
Take caution using this ROM, I do not have cricket, I have MetroPCS so I cannot test this ROM on Cricket devices.
This ROM for ALL cricket users will require the boot.img linked in the downloads below to get WiFi working properly until further notice.
Instructions for install are the same for MetroPCS AND Cricket users.
Enjoy!
****Version 5 now has some CM12 applications, please enjoy them, I also made slight changes to the libs folder, su.d folder, and added new libs to prep for the CM12 Hybrid rom

My Kernel backed up from TWRP: https://www.mediafire.com/?z1697u7dtpfwow1(ONLY DOWNLOAD IF YOU HAVE WIFI ISSUES AND MADE A PROPER BACKUP BEFORE HAND!!!!!!!)
Also: you will need 7-zip to unpack this file: http://www.7-zip.org/
For those who have been asking for this: MetroPCS Device Unlock App (Took it off a display model for ya guys )(NOTE: Might need to be installed as a system app! Read the bottom of this post for more info!) (NOTE2: It might need some libs files to install properly, I am working on getting those too.)
****WARNINGS****
If you upgraded your phone past 1.06.1550.7 this firmware will BREAK WiFi!!!!
You always run the risk of bricking a device when using non-oem firmware.
Although I have tested this extensively (And currently using it as my Daily Driver) expect bugs since some important HTC have been removed.
Your kernel version MUST be at 3.10.49-perf-g1363ba7 (Only kernel that has been reported to work properly on this device with THIS firmware so far.)
The RUU in case something goes wrong: http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_A32E_UL_L51_DESIRE_SENSE70_MetroPCS_US_1.23.1550.3.exe
THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP, YOU MUST RESTORE IT FROM TWRP RECOVERY!!!!
How to Restore The New System Image:
If upgrading from a previous version, please be sure to Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache before rebooting to make sure new system apps, and tweaks are properly used.
Download the system image from the link above
Extract the zip file to your external SD Card: (Example: Phone:\Ext_sd\TWRP\backups\)
Reboot into download mode (Vol Down + Pwr)
Select "Reboot into bootloader"
Select "Reboot into Recovery"
Make sure System Read only is not enabled in Mount settings.
Select "Restore" -> Select the Folder you just put on your external SD Card
Wait for a few minutes.
After that is done, go back to the recovery home
Then select "Wipe"
Select "Data", "Cache", and "Dalvick Cache", and "Internal Storage" ONLY (
IF UPDATING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION YOU MUST CLEAR CACHE/DALVIK CACHE!!!!)
Slide to wipe.
Then reboot.
Follow android setup as normal
Profit.
Some notes about this Custom Stock ROM:
I could not remove everything because the device itself is using HTC's Framework so some apps had to stay
HTC Launcher is removed, giving up 100MB+ of space.
Some HTC Apps have been removed
New Launcher put in (CM Launcher)(NOT TREBUCHET FROM CM12)
Lots of google apps removed
HTC Keyboard stayed because it was the only keyboard I found that will be active natively out of the box on this ROM (Dont know why)
AdBlocker added
Rooted with SuperSU from Chainfire
about 3.6GB of free space BEFORE system does app updates, and about 2.7GB free AFTER the updates. so still pretty good amount of space left on the phone after.
Super smooth bootup time (About 30 sec or less for me.)
THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP, YOU MUST RESTORE IT FROM TWRP RECOVERY!!!!
Solving misc issues with the ROM:
You can attempt to flash the boot.img I have linked above to resolve the wifi BUT MAKE A FRICKING BACKUP FIRST BEFORE YOU DO THAT!!!!
APN Fix (MMS/LTE/TETHER): https://www.mediafire.com/?5b9q589337n8gaq This file needs to be restored with APN Backup&Restore. To do this you need to convert APN Backup & Restore into a system app then restore the XML file you downloaded.
Installing the Device Unlock app: Copy the apk to /system/priv-app/DeviceUnlock. If that folder does not exist, feel free to make it and put the APK there.
Enjoy my work? Please donate to me please. Every dollar helps out a bunch. Thank you!

I hope this may work with the T-Mobile 626s to right?.. Same chitt..

In theory it should, but to my understanding the TMO variant and the MetroPCS variant run different kernels, but if you have a working backup then trying can't hurt!
If you can give me the hardware specs and a copy of your system partition then I can see if they would be compatible.

Awesome, if you need any help or even a tester, I'd be glad to help out

if you need a tester let me know.

I think I will need a couple testers, I am planning on releasing a beta system.img (For fastboot: fastboot flash system system.img)
Should be easy, this system.img will just overwrite your current system image. You will need to have an unlocked bootloader for fastboot flash to work properly and you will need to know any tweaks that have been made will be overwritten. I will work on getting a flashable zip ASAP.

Would be happy to test and provide results

my bootloader is unlocked and it would be s-off but when i purchased the key from sunshine the program wasn't working with the metropcs firmware even tho it said it was compatible. just let me know when u get the flash-able files.

Can't wait to try or test I'm game

I am almost done compiling a list of files that can be removed, then I will be removing the files from a base system.img file. After that I will be *hopefully* resizing the default partition table on the phone to give us the maximum amount of space possible for this device.

I do not know enough coding to to get CM12 running on this phone, but I do known enough to make a custom stock ROM with some tweaks for battery, performance, and the like.

I am a little behind schedule because of work so the ROM release will be mid next week.
I can certainly attempt, but if someone with experience could not do it, chances are I will not be able to do it.
Plus Xposed is still very buggy for Lollipop ROMS (Ours is 5.1)

Fwiw, xposed ran totally fine on my old s2 on all of the lollipop roms (5.0 and 5.1) that I installed. Don't let potential bugs discourage you. Thanks for all of your efforts. Best of luck!

Okay, played for a few minutes and these are my results so far;
AOKP settings crash easily, for example by trying to change processor speeds // Only on first boot
Annoying "Preparing USB Storage" notification, SD card works though // Only on first boot
ROM is snappy and speedy
The install procedure was confusing; I'd like to see it just as a normal flashable ZIP, this is useless rice
Wake on trackpad doesn't work (is the script included, as in the Zeu CM10?) // The script is included in /system/bin/trackballwake, and it works
ROM feels slightly bloated (don't include all these third party apps in the future!) // Removed a lot of bloat by TBP and ROM accually had some space left. It's very crowded stock.
Also, is it allowed to include gapps in this manner?

You have to do same trick as per original CM10, i.e set "keep Wifi on during sleep" to "always". Also after create/sign in your google account, give it a reboot.
Aroma installer, if proper configured allows you to customize your rom while flashing. You can also, after flashing rom, go back to aroma and check system info (model, name, device, storage, cpu, LCD density and other details)
Trackballwake is same as Zeu CM10
The difference on this rom is it creates /data folder during flashing and install whatever non-system apps you want in this folder, leaving more space in system folder. So you can customize the rom as you like by adding/removing apps in the zip file, "data folder", before flashing. I found it useful as every time i flash a rom i have to spend time installing market, gps fix, antutu, terminal emulator and all other stuff i need.
Also apps in the zip file "data/app" folder being user apps you can uninstall them easy after flash.
Most if not all of the supplementary apps got them from other roms posted on this site. They are free anyway and i don't sell them.
Will it work on hboot 1.00 s-on

I can't even connect to my WiFi network, but I can't do that in CM10 either, so I guess it's some router problem or something.

...Do people really want this? I don't get the point of an 'installer'. We have the glorious ZIP flash - the way God meant us to install ROMs.
Configuring ROM during flash? No. I think many people agree that we want a clean AOKP. You could make two zips; one clean AOKP, and one with your bloat/"useful apps" so that those who can't be arsed to download 7 apps (or restore them from earlier) can do so by flashing a zip.

More space? I found myself with a studdering, slow system after a few reboots. Looking in TBP, I noticed that I had 45kB free in /system.
Removed some system apps and I had 3 MB left. Isn't that less than CM10?

Uh yes, but if you read and responded to what I was typing, i said "gapps". Notice the "g", meaning "google" in this case. This is a set of proprietary google-apps, which are to be provided seperatley for all non-AOSP builds due to licensing.

I have decided to wait a while for a more stable JB rom (thanks to Zeubea).
Will post the port for the last nightly built together with a small surprise: MIUI 2.10.26 (quite stable) and 2.11.23 (a lot of diff still required)

Symlinked Gapps for CM9 And CM10 (w/ Google Now ICS instructions) (09MAY2013)

Hello everybody. After spending hours trying to figure out what I could delete from the system to make room for Gapps on CM10, I even tried to resize partitions, I came to the conclusion that the Gapps will have to be stored elsewhere. So, I came up with a solution, by installing the apps to /data/Gapps and then symlinking the files to /system. So since there are so many people trying to get Goggle Now on CM9, I figured I would make modified Gapps zips for both CM9 and CM10.
These are complete Gapp packages, they actually free up space on the /system partition, and are completely functional. Most of the files are installed to data/Gapps, this way the devs will not have to worry about trimming the ROMs, except to fit on the partition.
I'm sure this will help a bunch of other devices that have smaller system partitions also.
Note: Facelock requires you to log in to an account, to even show up in lockscreen options.
I don't think Google should have any issues with this as I haven't changed any files that where in the zip just moved them around and modified the updater-script.
Installation for fresh install:
1. Boot to your favorite custom recovery
2. Factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Flash CM9/CM10
4. Flash these Gapps
5. Reboot
Installation for previous install:
If you are already setup , you will need to wipe the cache and reinstall the ROM to format system to remove any Gapps already installed. As long as you don't wipe data/factory reset you should be right back where you started.
1. Boot to your favorite custom recovery
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Flash CM9/CM10
4. Flash these Gapps

GNow offline for ICS still requires about 60mb. So it will depend on the ROM. But, it works with our Triumph ICS ROMs. And they should be almost identical, as far as I've seen. I use GNow offline with my PA ICS ROM, with no issues. I haven't spent much time on any of the X6 ROMs, as we can't use the newer kernel and still use our phone service.
Let me know how it goes.

Already we have a enough internal memory 1gb. What we need is system partition which is 245 mb needs expansion may be additional 100 mb from internal memory. that is where the pain area.

Thanks, our partitions can not be repartitioned/resized, I tried everything except deleting the extended partition(4) that holds 5 - 17. That is why I made these.
This is the breakdown of the partitions on our phone:
BSydz said:
So, this is what I have found so far about the partitions on the Triumph, I can't guarantee that this is all correct, but if anybody has any input feel free to chime in.
WARNING, THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BELOW IS SPECULATIVE AND COMES WITH NO WARRANTY. IF YOU MESS WITH THIS STUFF, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR PHONE.
Partitions:
1 (FAT) Mobile Partition containing image folder, which is very well documented around the forums.
2 (crypt/QNX4.x) Primary Boot Loader (PBL) I believe that this is what the SOC uses to boot.
3 (crypt) Secondary Boot Loader I believe this is where the hardware layout is contained, as it changes button configuration and was key to getting back to normal after I flashed the wrong nb0. It is linked to the mobile partition, as the phone will not boot properly without the correct amss.mbn
4 (extended) Just an extended partition containing partitions 5 - 17.
5 (Boot) This is where the boot img is extracted.
6 (OnTrack DM) I think this manages and verifies integrity of partitions 13-17.
7 (ext3) This is where the system/rom is located. This is what you see in root explorer as "system", containing the build.prop and other stuff.
8 (ext3) This is the "data" folder .
9 (ext) This partition holds CDA info, with OEM apks, ringtones, and wallpapers, it seems to be mounted inside partition 10 (hidden) when the phone is on you can find the information merged into "hidden/data" using root explorer.
10 (ext3) This is the hidden partition containing boot images and CDA info. This can be found in "hidden" using root explorer.
11 (ext3) This is the cache partition.
12 (ext3) This is the Caivs, can't find too much info on this.
13-17 (unknown) I believe this is where the phone specific data is stored, including but not limited to MEID, ESN, and PRL.

Since there is no way to resize any partitions, that is why I made these. Data is the only partition that we can really use that won't require us to heavily modify the phone and be user friendly. Because not everybody who installs custom ROMs is gonna be able to do those types of modifications. This is the simplest way to fix the issue and won't impact anybody who wants to change ROMs.

I have had this posted in another forum for a while, the original tread is below. We (Triumph users) did not have camera working in ICS, and still don't on JB, So when I first released these, the optional script that installs facelock was not correct. Now that I have fixed the front camera, I got feedback that facelock was not working. While trying to fix it, I spent a few hours, never even getting the option in lockscreen settings, and finally added an acount one time so I could get some apps from google to figure out what was happening. Then I went in to the settings and it was there. So the hours I wasted was because I hadn't added an account. So face lock will not even show up in lockscreen settings until an account has been added to the phone. I think it has to do with having to have a second unlock option if facelock can't work, like low light situations.

It may work, one of the issues I had was the script was putting the optional files in system (the wrong place) and then the symlinks would overwrite the files. So this leads me to believe it may work, but I can't promise anything. If it doesn't work I can add some stuff to delete specific files in the updater-script, or you can remove the files from the ROM zip before flashing. You will want to at least wipe cache before you try these. I hate to say it, but you may have to be the tester.
Now that you guys are aware of these Gapps, you should ask your dev to remove Gapps from the ROM if possible. That would probably be the best route to go.

Sorry, as I explained above, this is not an option. Big SD cards are cheap now, and how would a couple hundred MB help anyway? If it is for swap, then it would be better to wear out your SD rather than your internal HD. Plus a good SD would be faster.
If anybody has any other questions feel free to ask.;

Thanks. If I had another dev phone I would just build one for you guys. It is a pain switching over cause we never got an nb0, I have to manually swap out the partitions to get it back. That's where I got the info about the partitions. My PA JB is built on CM10, so it would be just like any other CM port except the headphones and most everything else should work. It is older since PA went to aosp instead of CM based. Are any of your CM10 ROMs built from source or just ports? It would be nice to see some of the edits made for our phone. The only thing that's not working on ours is 3G, video/camera preview, and HDMI. But you guys use sim cards so I don't think you would have 3G issues and your kernel should fix the previews.
I'll build a PA JB ROM if you are willing to test it. I have the device files and the kernels except ck's kernel. Let me know, cause I hate releasing something I can't test first.

No need to apologize for language barriers. Do you think, you could put together a zip of the files in /lib and /bin that are for fb0? I just need the files that you put in to get it working, not all of them. It will make it easier to setup a device files for building from source. I have built the ROM and it boots, but no display, with copybit errors. I think I can get past those errors but once it fully boots, I'm sure things will have to be fixed.
Also, yes our phones are almost identical. Our amss.mbn is not compatible with the new kernel so we can't use our phone after the update. Just like you can't install the newer ROMs unless you flash the sharp nb0. I have it installed on my dev phone right now so i can get this working. I can install the nb0 and everything works perfectly except phone and 3g. It sucks, cause we are stuck.

How much, I realized you're talking about the incompatibility of your phone with our 35 kernel, 32 kernel but your compatible with our device, in MTDEV M9 worked even mobile network, except 3g that prevents replace the kernel to fix the library and enjoy the new firmware

Thank you, I am building it right now, just working through the errors from the ICS device files. CK, I got your kernel source, so we will see how it goes. I'll start new thread when it is done building.

any update on status...?

[ROM] Stock ROM version 4.10.708.1 CL344680 (901S) [4.4.2]

At last we have the 4.10.708.1 Sense 6.0 update for the HK version.
Unfortunately, this release appears to have some problems with the gallery and blinkfeed apps. For the best results, I recommend installing the previous version (3.06, linked below in this post) and applying the OTA update yourself.
Without further ado, here are the links!
Download link:
http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/dlxpul_stock_4.10.708.1_CL344680_release-keys.zip (MD5)
If you are S-ON, after installing the ROM, you also have to unpack boot.img from the zip and flash it using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Verified to install without a problem on an S-OFF phone using the recovery built by @kairi_zeroblade in this thread.
For each of the available OTA updates, you can also find the actual OTA package, the firmware included within and the stock recovery for that version. If you want to flash the whole firmware package (including recovery, radio, kernel/boot and many other things), just grab the appropriate firmware.zip, rename it to PO68IMG.zip, put it into the root of your external SD card and reboot your phone into the bootloader – the update will be applied automatically.
URL: http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/OTA/
Old versions below.
Here's the 3.06.708.3 KitKat 4.4.2 update.
Before installing, take a moment to read this. This update introduces extended filesystem capability flags and SELinux labels. The installer in this ZIP tries to set them in the same way as the OTA update does, but in TWRP this fails, because the recovery doesn't have support for these kinds of metadata. However, setting the medatada is done as the last step, so even if it fails and the installation aborts, the ROM is still installed properly, just without this extra bit.
I repeat:
Read the installer messages. If it says "Done!" and fails afterwards, the installation is complete. If it fails before printing the message "Done!", then the installation is not OK.
The latest CWM Touch should give the best results, although I haven't tried installing it through CWM.
If you are S-ON, after installing the ROM, you also have to unpack boot.img from the zip and flash it using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Download link:
http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/dlxpul_stock_3.06.708.3_CL315079_release-keys_SELinux.zip (MD5)
@Zarboz also made a ZIP of this version of the stock ROM, I'm told it contains some flavor of Superuser preinstalled:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8I81hbg3bIwOWNlZHBMUy1tanc/edit?usp=sharing
-----------------------
Just before Christmas we have a new stock ROM with Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 available. Same as with previous version, the installer contains all preload apps, in addition, it also contains the HTC Notes app, otherwise it leaves /data as it is, so in case something does not work, remember to wipe data before installing.
Download link:
http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/dlxpul_signed_stock_2.21.708.1_CL288207_release-keys.zip (MD5)
-----------------------
This is an image of the stock ROM after installing the 1.23.708.3 OTA update. The installer also contains all preload applications (Flashlight, Calculator, PDF viewer and others). Other than installing / updating all preload apps, the package doesn't touch /data in any other way. If you need to wipe your data partition, do it before installing this ROM, otherwise you'll wipe your freshly-installed preload applications. (Note that some of them have been updated in the OTA, which means they differ from the APKs I posted separately.) Does not contain the Notes OTA update, it should ask after first boot.
Here's the download link:
http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/dlxpul_signed_stock_1.23.708.3_CL241753_release-keys.zip (MD5)
-----------------------
Made from a dump taken from my 901S just after unlocking the bootloader, pure preinstalled stock ROM, no root, no mods of any kind. Only contains /system and kernel+initrd, doesn't touch /data, /cache or anything else. If you want a clean state, wipe your phone before or after installing.
Download:
http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/dlxpul_signed_stock_1.11.708.1_CL215607_release-keys.zip (MD5 here)
The ROM is also available as a TWRP backup:
http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/stock-901s-twrp-backup.tar (MD5 here)
For those interested, I also made a backup of the original internal storage ("sdcard") before unlocking which is available here (MD5). It should be pretty close to the original state, though I did run a few apps there to get a feeling of the device.
Last but not least, there were certain applications preinstalled in the /data partition which gets erased completely when unlocking. I managed to find out which ones they were and back up their APKs. The APKs are located at http://heh.sk/~johnny64/901S/preload/. To install them, create the directory /data/preload on your device and push the APKs in there using adb or something. The apps should appear after a reboot. Most of them are probably not very interesting (since they are for news from the HK area), I was mostly interested in the calculator, flashlight and PDF viewer, but I backed them all up anyway, so suit yourselves.

Well, the file is a tar archive. You have to extract it into TWRP/BACKUPS/<your phone's serial number>. The backup itself consists of multiple files, I just made a single archive for easier downloading.

I don't really understand your question, but I'll try again and slower this time. (-;
First, extract the archive on your phone, any decent file manager app should be able to do that. You'll notice the archive contains one directory named 2013-08-22--21-11-59. This directory contains a bunch of files.
Next, look up your phone's serial number in settings -> about -> phone identity. Navigate into TWRP/BACKUPS on your SD card and check if there's a directory with the same name as your serial number. If there's no such directory, create it.
Finally, move the 2013-08-22--21-11-59 directory into the one you just created.

Okay, now I don't understand your question. Did you try to restore the backup and it failed with an error? If that's the case, then I'm afraid I won't be able to help you. Anyway, you might want to post the exact error message you're getting in case someone else would be able to help you out.

It is hosted on a Raspberry Pi sitting on a shelf in my campus room. It should have 100 mbit connectivity. I noticed in the HTTP server logs that a lot of people are using downloaders which open more than 20 connections in parallel, some go even as high as 50. Since it is a really weak machine, I limited it to 5 parallel connections. If you're trying to download with such a tool, try to crank it down a little bit.

[TUTORIAL] Manually port T-Mobile Alliance ROM 5.0.1 to Verizon Dev Edition (12/8/15)

** Got Verizon Note 4 Dev Edition to work with Alliance T-Mobile ROM!! Data, calling, sms, mms work ! I smell a daily driver! I am not a developer, but this manual port taught me a lot. This was a personal project of trial and error, and research that turned into a stable ROM. Thought I'd share how I did it. I do not take credit for this ROM or kernel**
DISCLAIMER: Your warranty is now void. Please be careful make a nandroid of your current Verizon ROM. I am not responsible if you break your phone or lose data on your device! Read this whole OP!
**This is using the BETA version of Alliance ROM for T-Mobile Note 4. Download the Alliance BETA and read the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-0-1-allianceromn910t-18-themes-huge-t3085560 to get an idea of the features of this ROM. Give lacoursiere18 and hsbadr a thanks and donate to them for making this great ROM and kernel.
Follow these steps one after the other and don't stop**
1. Make sure you are on a OAF Lollipop ROM without xposed installed. I think I used Rick's OAF Lollipop ROM originally. Download the most recent multisystem kernel. I am on BOG modem so I'm pretty sure any Lollipop modem will work with this.
2. On your Verizon Lollipop ROM make copies on your SD card of:
- system/buildprop.xml & cscversion.txt
- system/etc/apns-config.xml
- system/etc/permissions/verizon_net_sip_library.xml & vzwapnlib.xml
- system/lib/libril.so & libsec-ril.so
- system/apps/VzwActivationAgent, vzwapnpermission & **SecSetupWizard2013**
- system/framework/VZWAPNLib.apk
- system/privapp/VZWAPNService & secmms_candy folders
- system/csc folder
4. Reboot into recovery and make a TWRP backup of everything except SD card.
5. While in recovery dirty flash Alliance ROM BETA on top of your lollipop ROM OAF (Wipe everything EXCEPT data, internal storage, and SD). Then flash the most recent multisystem kernel.
6. Once booted up and apps are optimized wait until the screen turns off by itself. Download root browser and delete system/privapp/diagmonagent.apk and system/lib/libdiagmonagent.so because at startup it was sending some kind of diagnostics and thought it was messing with the data drop. Ever since these changes and a reboot data has been stable!
Reboot
7. Using root browser, swap those copied files in the appropriate file location. Change them to the correct permissions (the folders get 0755 and the files 0644, compare with other files and folders that are in place already. Make sure you change the permissions on all folders copied over and their contents. If a permission is incorrect or you leave a file out there can be issues and a restore might be needed.). Let apps optimize. **Longest Step**
Reboot
8. Edit feature.xml in the system/csc folder and add:
<CscFeature_RIL_ForceConnectMMS>true
</CscFeature_RIL_ForceConnectMMS>
Above the two bottom tags:
</FeatureSet>
</SamsungMobileFeature>
This enables auto download mms when data is toggled off !
Reboot
9. Perform a factory reset within the settings. Let phone relax for like 10 mins after it boots. Go through the setup wizard and then reboot.
Reboot into recovery
10. Make an backup in TWRP and you have your own custom ROM
I'm pretty sure this ROM is not compatible with xposed but it is very customizable, smooth, and it comes with a lot of features built in.
**READ ME**
Bugs:
- Silent mode is only available using the toggle. Volume down only goes to vibrate.
**
- Battery section in settings is missing
- No way to remove battery percentage in status bar
(Workaround: Download "Battery Usage Shortcut" from the Playstore to access the battery section and to remove battery percentage)
**
- No way to uninstall 3mint battery mod without messing the systemui up **(see update at the bottom)**
- Now that the mobile network settings are correct the advanced calling option is avaliable but it force closes and messes up your data connection. A reflash of everything will be needed so don't click on it! (I have a feeling a Verizon app is missing)
- My volume titles are not correct (Ringtone, media, notifications, and system.) when I press the volume buttons. (**Workaround download Noyze Volume Panel for free from the developer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-noyze-volume-panel-replacement-t2875501
Give Tombarr a thanks for developing such a slick and customizable app**)
11/18/15:
- Just started using voicemail for the first time in 6 years. Good thing because today I experienced a glitch that it would not let me hang up the phone after listening to voicemails for some reason, but it didn't do that when I was clearing voicemails. (Hangs up automatically after a certain amount of time) Maybe it happens to new voicemails. Also I'm assuming since the verizon voice mail app isn't installed I get a weird unreadable verizon text when I get a new voicemail.
- One hand mode is not in the settings. Not sure why
Any suggestions or thoughts about these current bugs would be helpful.
I cannot guarantee all Alliance settings will work (stay away from performance), but most does work and it's awesome!
This manual port is now stable and buttery smooth! All basic phone functions work. Let me know if you come across any bugs or issues not related to Alliance settings. I will try to help fix it.
Thanks Stedrocklp for taking the time to try and get this working. Jal3223 thanks for sharing that key porting info!!! Wouldn't be possible without your help! Thanks hsbadr for developing Multisystem kernel ! Thanks lacoursiere18 for creating this ROM !
UPDATE:
To update Alliance settings to the most recent version and remove 3mintbattery mod download the newest T-Mobile Alliance ROM v1.1
1. Use ES File Explorer and click on the Alliance ROM you just downloaded to open the archive.
2.
- Extract system/privapp/SystemUI/SYSTEMUI.apk
- In the system/app folder extract AllianceControl folder (towards the top) and all the loose apps without folders at the bottom to a folder on your sd card.
3. Make a system and data backup in TWRP just in case things go wrong. Reboot system
4. Swap all those files and folders in their appropriate file locations and change the folder permissions to 755 and files to 644. Take this step slow and make sure the old files are renamed to .old or overwritten. If a permission is incorrect or you leave a file out there can be issues and a restore might be needed.
5. In system/app folder delete the old loose Alliancecontrol.apk, and delete 3mintbattery.apk
6. Reboot and enjoy!
This is the final release of this ROM so we are all up to date ! :good:

I'm pretty sure it would but you need to figure out the sprint specific apps to make the system happy. And flash your sprint kernel after you dirty flash. The dirty flash skips the setup which makes it possible to boot correctly.
Would you mind sharing the Rick's ROM that you used? I looked at his thread, but the download links are no longer available. Thank you in advance for your help!

Damn thats not good. I do not think I am allowed to share the ROM, as it's not mine. But I do not know how to share it anyways. I would just odin back to 4.4.4. and go through the upgrade process to OAF. Or you can try to de-xpose MoRom after a clean flash. I think there are two things you need to remove one being the xposed installer and the other I don't know the exact name but use root browser, search for xposed in the system folder, delete it, and reboot. No sure if it will messed anything up but I don't think it will. Then dirty flash the alliance beta and continue from there. Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your response. I ODIN'd back to OAF and went through the steps in your tutorial. My phone booted up and I then proceeded to replace the files/folders and set permissions. I thought I was careful, but once I tried to reboot, the phone would not come back up.
Is there a way to make the changes (file permissions and replacing them in the ROM) on a PC?
Is there a way to share your edited files so that we could simply paste them into the ROM?
Just thought I would ask. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Damn thats a bummer. Even if I shared the files you would still need to change the permissions. I think it is possible unzip a verizon ROM and unzip Alliance rom and replace the files and then zip it back up on the computer and then dirty flash that but everytime I zip it back up it never flashes. It seems that when I zip it back up it adds an extra folder that makes it unflashable but haven't taken the time to figure out how to make it work. Try starting over and getting the ROM to boot then make a nandroid of that so you have something to restore. This is what I did when I was trying to get everything working. Next time try not adding the camera files and .jar file and add them after a reboot. Let me know how it goes.
Added the setup as one of the files to copy over so a factory reset can be performed to make sure you're starting with a fresh system. This is the first day I did this and I had to pull the battery twice due to freezes after I factory reset. I didn't let the phone sit and let it settle. I would recommend you let it sit and relax for like 10 mins. I have not had any lock ups since this morning. Lemmi know how it goes!
After the factory reset the ROM is flying. As for the battery I cannot say yet but I know I did not have the best battery life on this ROM before. It did get me through the day so I was happy about that. I calibrated the battery but that is about it. If any devs knows any battery optimizations that can be made to the system without xposed please share!
I heard from a user that Xposed works on this ROM. I personally do not use it though. As for battery life I've noticed better results after I disabled automatic check for updates in the settings. Settings > About device > Software Updates and uncheck auto check for updates. This ROM for some reason does not have the audio issues that I experienced on MoROMs ROM. I am happy about that. Now that we finally have the 5.1.1. update I am going to try and port a ROM that looks good. If anybody wants to give this a stab with me that would be great to test multiple ROMs from different carriers and see which one gives us the best results. Thanks
Got something amazing in the works!

I don't recommend dirty flashing from Kyubi. You should try clean flashing MoRom then copying those files from the system. Then dirty flash Alliance, then multisystem kernel:

And just follow the OP instructions.

S7 EdgeMM Ported Roms Fingerprint Fix Tutorial!!!

Hey Guys I have finally fixed the fingerprint bug found in all the official S7 marshmallow,To use the fingerprint you must install C locker free version from the playstore...The rom takes about 10-15 minutes to optimize,do a clean flash...if your phone does not boot even after that, remove the battery and restart your device, when the bootanimation appears press and hold down the volume - button to try putting it into safe mode and you device will boot up just fine....

Edit:-
Hi everyone,So I have uploaded the files on Mega to manually fix the Fingerprint
https://mega.nz/#!rtMT3C7a!hJVcWlgNJjTIlTinOjgHcdjvhOyhTcq9seERa8Wo3z4
The Video Tutorial is on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMWe5T5DSgU
The Files Rar file contains two sub folders,
App and Priv-app
Place the folders in the folder App in System/App of your phone
Place the folders in the folder Priv-app in System/Priv-app
Also Set the Permission Octals for the Folders to 0755
and the octal to Apk or other files inside the Folders to 0644
These are the files I have replaced inside the Rom,If anyone is willing to make a flashable zip for these files, your welcome,But I don't think it will work if you are using your rom right now,It will cause the settings app to crash upon opening it....So A flashable zip and a Clean flash is Neccessay.....as for the lockscreen app,Use the C locker app attached below,It the pro version with license provoke disabled....
Cab you write the steps please? It would be far better, so anyone who see the steps can figure out something wrong in order to fix fingerprint

Please share the procedure, your way is unusual.
30-35min for actually doing it is less than
backing up my rom,
restoring yours and
restoring my data over it...
Besides I use philz touch recovery, not TWRP...
So you understand the silence here...
But I really hope it is working! :fingers-crossed:

No don't restore your data after restoring my backup....And well It requires a dirty flash of the insanity rom over the stock rom and the app optimization takes about 20 to 25 minutes for both the roms because first you must be on pure stock which has been factory reset, than add you're fingerprints and enable C locker or Cmlocker in services and set screen lock to none, after that dirty flash insanity rom over it,after it optimizes and boots up you will end up on your boot screen with a message stating settings, music, clock and google partner setup have stopped working, after that you have to open up root explorer and replace a couple system files with the stock rom files, these include Settingprovider,Secsettings, health service and clock package in the System/Priv-app directory and set the correct permissions and also renaming these files as the orignal ones, after that you have to place the settingsmaps and settingssearchprovidor folder in system/app and set correct permissions for them,After that reboot and let these apps optimize....Voila your done, your settings app will start working and you will be able to add fingerprints but you can not use them on the stock lockscreen because of the bug in the System ui stated in the Post....that is why you have to use cm locker or c locker and you have to download them and enable then while you are on stock because the settings app crashes on certain toggles while it is on insanity rom....Here is the Tutorial,Happy?

well, maybe; I had once dirty flashed insanity over stock,
I could use fingerprint in apps, but could not change the fingerprints in settings (FCs) nor lockscreen, obviously.
So I am not scared of your method,
even I think it will go through the process with my data left intact,
cause I am on (almost) stock now.
I like Insanity a lot, but fingerprint is a real deal-breaker to me.
according to your steps, you could create flashable zip with those stock (original) apps.
you know, permissions, replacement of files etc.. it is easier that way..
thx
@syedmuaaz87
I need the Fix without all this backup , pls shear the fix only

No i don't think it will work because there is a reason we start from the stock rom and add fingerprints on stock rom,If we start clean on insanity and replace the settings app with the stock one and reboot, the settings app does not work at all,I don't know the real problem here, maybe it's the cache of the stock settings app or maybe something else, the devs know better....Hope they fix it permanently....

It also contains the data which neccessary to fix the Fingerprint scanner....Extract it and place the twrp folder in the internal storage of the device and restore,Do no restore your own backup or even data after restoring this backup, the fix might not work if you do so....

I see, but I cannot live without my data, so I will try...
But again, when I replace SecSetting, I will loose a s7 charm and settings, right?
