DROID Turbo: Netflix Crashes After Video Tries To Load - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Themes and Apps

Netflix crashes after video tries to load- DROID Turbo
I'm currently running compuerfreek's 1.1A rom on my bootloader unlocked Droid Turbo. Before that, I was keeping pretty up to date with computerfreek's roms while I was rooted with mofo. This issue started before that, when I was running stock Android. My Netflix app loads just fine, I can navigate anywhere I want, change settings, and do on. However, when I try to play any video, I get the red spinning circle and the word loading, the the ubiquitous unhelpful Android error, "Unfortunately Netflix has stopped working." I made the mistake of telling Netflix my phone was rooted, so now they won't help me. I've tried clearing cache and data, uninstalling and reinstalling, reformatting the device, installing many different Netflix apks, using different networks, both wifi and 4g, and using Netflix through Chrome and Firefox browsers. Please help!!

I should also mention that it work fine using chromecast with my phone. It's only trying to watch videos on the phone itself that gives me issues.

[Q] Youtube not working after a while

Hello,
I recently purchased a silver HTC One 32GB (european version with LTE). I S-OFF-ed it and installed the rooted version of "[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 4.4 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + Firmware".
The problem is that youtube stops working after a while (both in youtube application and in chrome). Basically no video plays anymore. Every other functionality works fine except playing videos. Chrome tries to play the video but it says "This video cannot be played". If I try again in Chrome, it simply closes (I guess it crashes). Youtube application just shows the loading animation (on the black background) and just sits there indefinitely. Mx Player works fine with videos stored on the phone (I guess it uses it's own codecs).
Rebooting the phone makes youtube to work again (sometimes) but after a while it stops working again.
I would've posted on "[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 4.4 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + Firmware" thread, but I have less than 10 posts.
Any idea what the problem is or how could I overcome it? I also tried factory reset, clearing cache/data, etc. Nothing works, it does the same thing. I also searched and couldn't find anyone with a similar problem like me.
I don't know if the original firmware was working well because I didn't use it more than 1 hour (I must say I like the stock android experience).
Thanks

Chromecast doesn't recognize some apps now?

On my phone, HTC One M8 Verizon (not rooted or rommed or anything) -
I used to be able to cast HBO Go, Google Play Movies, etc. There is no longer the casting options in these apps. I can still cast from Netflix or YouTube, nothing else. Everything us up to date, tried disabling/enabling each app, clearing caches, no luck.
Anyone else had this issue?
Since you didn't list them... have you tried rebooting your router, then rebooting Chromecast?

Xperia Z c6603 choppy streaming playback

Hello! This is my first post. I have searched the forums and google for hours for a solution, so here I am. I have a Sony Xperia Z c6606 running a c6603 Android 5.1.1 Build # 10.7.A.0.222 stock ROM. Its bootloader is not unlockable, it is rooted, and has XZ Locked Dual Recovery installed. Most streaming videos I play from the internet plays smoothly for several minutes, but if I skip ahead, it freezes. After sitting for a few moments, it plays for a few seconds, stops, plays for a few more seconds, then stops again, and keeps repeating that cycle. This happens regardless of whatever browser I use. I have tried Chrome, Dolphin, CM Browser, Firefox, Opera and others. Even though I have video players installed such as Dice Player, MX Player, the phone mostly uses the built in player, without giving me the option to use others. Video plays fine from the YouTube, Netflix and Hulu apps, however. I have tried clearing and formatting the phone's cache. I have tried clearing Dalvik. I have gone to Developer Options and disabled HW overlays, I have tried forcing GPU rendering, and I have even tried the Use Awesomeplayer (deprecated) option, to no success. I have also done a factory reset, and re-installed my ROM. I know it's not a network issue, because it happens on every wifi connection I try, or on T-Mobile LTE with a strong signal. Does anyone know what could be causing this behavior and/or how I can fix it? I am at my wits end in dealing wih this. Thanks for your time!!

Stopped casting from YouTube app

Hi everyone,
I can't find any information on this elsewhere and wondered if anyoned else has experienced this or is having this issue.
I have a factory unlocked non-rooted Sprint LG V40 phone. And it was working perfectly fine, but suddenly I noticed that it cannot cast from the YouTube app onto my Sony XBR-65A1E. It keeps giving me the message "There was a problem connecting to XBR-65A1E." The phone casts photos perfectly fine to the TV. And can cast YouTube to the Roku just fine as well.
I tried clearing the cache and data and re-updating the YouTube app. I tried resetting the YouTube app on the TV. Hard resetting the phone. Turning on and off the TV. And nothing seems to work. I thought maybe it was a developer option I put on, but disabling it makes no difference. I deleted some factory sprint apps that I'd never use, but I dont think any that could affect that app. I'm kinda running out of options except factory resetting the phone and TV. And I'd rather not do that, as I'm not even sure if that would work.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

I ended up logging into the YouTube app on my TV. Then I went into the YouTube app settings, as I had about given up, and went into Watch ON TV, Thinking I would cast via a pass code. Out of frustration, I kept pressing "Link" text near the TV name a half dozen times or so. And suddenly YouTube app on the TV forced an update pending. I went into the play store app and updated YouTube now. Chromecast also updated. Still didn't work. So I turned off the TV a few mins. Turned it back on, and suddenly we are back. My phone now casts to the tv no problem! Must have been a bad update. Hopefully this helps out some other poor unfortunate soul.

Certain websites not working (resolved)

Rooted, running stock OS. For some reason, certain websites like NFL. Com won't load. Regardless of wifi/lte. I tried both chrome and Firefox with the same issue. Apps and evehtbjgb else works fine on the internet so I'm not sure what's going on.
I had not cleared the host after using energized. All sites work.
