PB1 February security update posted.

Really appreciated you keep updating this,

^,^
Looks like there is a secret stash for i9505g I will install on my m919 using only system and cache will report back here soon) peace
And keep updating us brother peace!!

There are people out there who maintain roms for other devices by using these ODIN images. They work just fine, but, I do not support them in any way other than posting the images here. I'd prefer to keep this thread specific to the 9505g, however. Otherwise it could confuse people and I don't want anyone on a non-9505g device trying to flash these ODIN images thinking it might work cause it ill brick them. I get what you're going to do, but, others may overlook it.

The original PC1 image was bad. I just now replaced it with a new image, so if you downloaded it before this post was made, redownload it.

This does not include the bootloader?

No, I don't include the bootloader in the image. It's never really been needed for most people.

Great work as always Sam will fix updated version for s4
Sent from my SM-G9350 using Tapatalk

Hi Samuri! Since the may update has appear in my mobile, have you available the correspondent update image?
Cheers

Nope. I've yet to see the update. Once I can get ahold of it, I'll make the image.

PE1 is up now.

I have a problem on all gpe roms, my mobile data never turns off!
After i switch off lte connection it comes back in just a second

No idea.

PF1 is up now, great! Thanks for another release @SamuriHL, my I9505 can still keep going.

You're very welcome. Enjoy!

[BOOTLOADERS]CUSTOM Gingerbread Bootloaders for Vibrant - UPDATED [22/06/11]

NOW WITH CUSTOM BOOTSPLASHES! MORE TO COME SOON...
All you guys, PM me any images you want as boot splashes, and I'll see what I can do...
SAFE TO FLASH, IF PROCEDURE FOLLOWED PROPERLY AND NOT INTERRUPTED
SOLVE YOUR RECOVERY AND RAINBOW PROBLEMS ON GINGERBREAD ROMS
WORKS ACROSS FROYO AND GINGERBREAD ROMS BASED ON SAMSUNG GALAXY S I9000 OR SGS-T959.
ALSO WORKING PERFECTLY WITH CYANOGENMOD AND MIUIWhen we got Gingerbread ROMs, we also faced the issue of not being able to see the Recovery on the GB Kernels and having to see our screens go funny which were safely called Rainbows! Well, no more !! Flash these Gingerbread Bootloaders and there you go, no issues on Gingerbread except GPS!!
If You can ODIN to JFD, and can see the Download Mode, You can do this.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY USER ERROR. I HAVE THESE FILES WORKING 100% ONLY ON A SGS-T959 VIBRANT. FLASHING BOOTLOADERS IS RISKY IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. HOWEVER, BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND COMMON SENSE MAKES IT SURE YOU WON'T GO WRONG WHILE DOING IT.[/CENTER]
This is a small attempt to create bootloader only flashables similar to EZ Boot on the Galaxy S forums, however for our T959 Vibrant... These bootloaders will only have the Vibrant Boot logo and not the I9000 logo, hence maintaining the original look of your phones...
Both the tar packages contain sbl.bin, boot.bin and param.lfs files and have md5 checksums to maintain file integrity when flashing with ODIN. They're working 100% for me... I flashed them atleast 5 times alternatively between them on 3 different ROMs before uploading. So yes, I know the packages are correct.
Gingerbread Bootloaders - No Rainbow - Fully visible Recovery on all ROMs]
Benefits - No more rainbows on Gingerbread 2.3 ROMs like Simply Honey GB, LiDroid, Asgard, etc.
Convenient Key Maps for entering Recovery and Download Modes. (I personally like these mappings over the Standard Vibrant Mapping as you can enter download mode directly without needing to turn off phone or remove battery etc...)
For Recovery - Lower Volume Key + Power Button
For Download - Upper Volume Key + Power Button
Froyo Bootloader - Revert to Vibrant
Benefits - Original bootloaders to revert to stock for Vibrant based ROMs. Also, for MIUI and CM7...
Key Maps
For Recovery - Both Volume Keys + Power Button
For Download - Both Volume Keys and Connect USB Cable
How to DO
ODIN Guide
Please follow this step by step, else I won't be responsible for any DAMAGE.
1. Enter Download mode on your phone.
2. Open ODIN on your computer.
3. Plug in USB and check if ODIN recognizes the phone.
4. Remove all ticks from ODIN, except PDA.
5. Select PDA and browse to the bootloader TAR package file you wish to flash.
6. Click on Flash.
7. If ODIN says PASS, long press power for 10 seconds and it'll reboot, else, repeat 2-6 again...
Avoid exiting download mode if you think the flashing wasn't correct. If however, the peogress window did not start flashing any file, you might just manage to safely reboot and re-enter download mode.
Please note, you do not need to use the PIT file since it will be used automatically from the native partition on the phone.
ODIN shall automatically verify the integrity of the tar package using the included md5 hash. However, for personal prudence, I'd suggest you do that before hand.

Frequent questions / Additional Information
Reserved by OP:
DISCLAIMER: IT IS UNSAFE IF YOU ARE A NOOB! TAKE OFFENCE AND DON'T FLASH IT, RATHER THAN FLASH AND BRICK YOUR PHONE
Definition of a Noob
A person who does something to his phone not knowing what he did or what would happen next.
Definition of a DumbHead
All qualities of a Noob + I did not read the OP or FAQs.
FAQs:
1. Is it unsafe?
Flashing a bootloader incorrectly technically bricks your phone. So its like having a single shot at what you're doing, you either keep doing it right and shuffle between the bootloaders, or you do it wrong just once, and you might have a dead phone.
2. What ROMs can I use with the GB Bootloader?
You can use any ROM - 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 without needing to alter affect your bootloaders as they are backward compatible. However, DO NOT FLASH OR ODIN the following packages
- ODIN Packages containing only an Sbl.bin
- ODIN Packages containing only a boot.bin
If the package contains both, it would technically upgrade/downgrade your bootloader, hence being safe if they are the correct files.
3. Should I flash this before/after flashing a new ROM
You can flash this at anytime, before or after, both are safe.
4. Will it affect performance?
Bootloaders are not known to alter performance. However, on Gingerbread ROMs ported from I9000, they have helped solve the presence of the Rainbow screens, and also allow you to view recovery directly from the phone.
5. Will my 3 button combi work?
If you have the Gingerbread Bootloaders, no. Use the combinations mentioned in the OP to enter both recovery and download mode.
6. Which .pit should I use?
The phone itself has its native .pit partition to take care of any such issues. So not using a .pit file will not affect/harm you. I suggest you not to use one. However, if you do use one, use this - s1_odin_20100512.pit
It is the same we use for ODIN to JFD or Eugene's Froyo that does not brick.
7. What to do when an Official Vibrant update for Gingerbread arrives?
Safest option - Return to Stock Vibrant Froyo bootloaders as in the OP. They will return you to factory bootloaders and any Gingerbread upgrades containing either an sbl.bin or boot.bin or both shall flash just fine. You may choose not to do this, if you're aware of what you're doing.
8. Can I ODIN to stock JFD like I always did?
The JFD Odin packages that I have seen don't contain sbl.bin or boot.bin ! Hence, till that's the case, its safe to ODIN to stock. Please check your ODIN tar packages using 7zip or WinRAR or any other Archive utility for absence/presence of the mentioned files. If they do appear, they should be present together. Else, if they don't appear, you are safe to ODIN to stock.
9. Whatever I flash, I end up in Recovery! What should I do?
Flash stock Vibrant bootloaders, then ODIN to stock JFD. You should be good to go here onwards... I only had this issue when I tried changing bootloaders over MIUI/CM7. Couldn't replicate on Samsung ROMs...
Interesting.
I will wait for someone to flash this.
Great Job Scorp!! Check your pm.

Nopes buddy, don't try that as of now... However I'm planning to upload one for the CwM App soon... Wait for a couple of days... I want to make sure its 100% safe before I release it publically. Till then, you can ask her to just borrow your PC or any other PC to flash it... Just need ODIN and the drivers...
Guess I'll try it out as soon as I flash Simple Honey (downloading it right now).
EDIT: Sweet, worked great, and no more rainbow! Also love the easy way to get into recovery and download. Thanks.

Yes you may. You'll need to install SuperSU from the app store before or after flashing this, but, the su binary is up to date (1.99r3) and ready to go.
Also you could just flash twrp with ODIN before rooting. Either way, this will fix you up.

Thanks man. Yea, this one took a couple hours longer to post than I'd have liked because of changes they made to the scripts. I had to re-architect my build odin script to reconcile the changes. But the modems, recovery, and full images are all posted. Not too shabby considering it was literally one day after the Nexus devices got their factory images.
My phone is rooted, and I installed Xposed framework. How do I install 4.4.3 without losing everything?
With Odin you lose everything right?
You won't lose your data. But it will overwrite your system partition, yes. You don't have a lot of options if you wanna get to 4.4.3 with the current environment you have on your phone. ODIN is pretty much it.

It is better to do a wipe data, to do a clean install? I'm afraid that Xposed and its modules can cause problems.
Don't know. I don't use xposed at all. Personally if it were me I'd flash it, see if it boots...if not, factory reset it and start over. But I'd at least try to boot it up without wiping data first. I go out of my way in all my utils to make it so users don't have to wipe data so you never know....it could work.
I've updated all my ODIN TAR threads to make it COMPLETELY clear what EVERY step is as it seems it was too difficult to follow.
Thanks. With MJ gone, you are the last Samurai for all i9505g users. We all depend on you now.:good:
Anyway to disable the System Update notification nag? I was using 4.4.2 Automanager, unchecked SystemUpdate but still no luck...
Should be able to freeze the updater apk whatever the file is. I don't know it off the top of my head but look through them and you should find it.

I must be blind because I'm not seeing it I am on 4.4.3 but modified.
Yes you are missing it. The little link that says full rooted. Don't know what to tell you.

Would you mind posting link please?
Nvm. It is not under the full rooted header but instead the downloads header
Worked like a charm even with CWM and Xposed
Samuri, I am so, so grateful that you keep us updated on the I9505G! Thank you!
Just in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation as me, I had used Samuri's previous Full Rooted Restore for 4.4.3 with ODIN (here), then installed CWM Recovery (via Heimdall) and installed the Xposed framework. Obviously I could not use the OTA update directly! But using ODIN to get this 4.4.4 image worked just fine.
My steps, in case anyone wants it spelled out:
Uninstalled Xposed framework from within the installer just to be safe. Settings are not removed. This step is likely unnecessary, but can't hurt
Used ODIN to flash the full 4.4.4 rooted image, verified working and rooted
Re-installed CWM via Heimdall. (When rebooting, CWM asks if you want to fix root. Yes)
Re-installed Xposed and rebooted -- previous Xposed settings reactivated with no problems
There were some nandroid backups made along the way as well of course, just to be safe.
The only place I had an issue, this time and the previous time, was finding the right Samsung USB drivers. The ones on the Samsung website are ridiculously out of date and a lot of the links I found were broken or suspicious. Maybe a good driver link is something that can be added to these posts, for people who are starting fresh?
Anyway, thanks again!
I had a link to ODIN and the samsung driver but the site I linked to was serving up malware so I pulled them. I'm hosting my own ODIN link now and I don't have the latest Samsung drivers. I wonder if sammobile has them. I bet it does.
If I uninstall root, will the phone still get the next OTA?
I'm pretty sure, but wanted to be 100% sure. Couldn't find a stock image that I could flash via Odin that wasn't pre-rooted.
Nor will you find a stock ODIN image that isn't rooted because Samsung doesn't release them for us. I have to manually create them. Root and the OTA have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I routinely flash OTA's on mine while rooted. Half the time I don't even lose root by doing so. Whether you choose to leave it or remove it won't have any impact on receiving the next OTA.

Yeah, I noticed the dedicated ODIN link. Thanks for that! Last time around I had a bugger of a time finding 3.09 without malware.

So I found out while I was on vacation. sigh. The site I was linking to had a malware infected version apparently. I've been using this version without issue for quite some time. It came from this site with all the versions included.
Custom kernel via odin?
Your image worked perfectly; thank you.
Have you ever run across a way to get a custom kernel as a flashable Odin image?
Looking for the alucard kernel..
Thank you sir for any information that you might have.
I imagine you could make a flashable odin image from it. There are some ODIN image tutorials/guides out there that you could follow. I have no experience with that personally.

Do you have a non-rooted version for the US I9505G. I need to return to stock as I have attempted to use "unroot", but Good for Enterprise is still saying my phone is rooted.

[GUIDE] odin guide

Who can benefit from this?
Anyone who softbricked with access to download mode
Anyone who wants to use the OTA function after root
Anyone who needs to send the phone in for repair
Anyone who wants to be on the most recent firmware and cannot use the OTA
Anyone who wants to downgrade *Unknown at this time downgrade at your own risk
Anyone who wants to return to stock from aosp or aokp
Linux and Mac users must follow the Odin method using the correct PIT file (will upload soon) and substitue Odin with Jodin3 found HERE and spam AdamOutler thanks button for making Jodin3 (AP in odin is PDA in jodin)
How to enter Download Mode
Make sure your device is completely off
Hold Volume Down + Home
While holding both of them simultaneously press the Power button until you see the disclaimer on the screen
Then let go of all the buttons and press Volume Up
=====================================================================================
Download and extract Odin (v3.10.6)
Download extract and install [Unified Driver Installer] (looking for the proper driver, please tell me if you have the latest unified)
Download firmware from the centralized location HERE
Enter Download Mode
If you have Kies installed make sure it is closed (check the task bar) then plug in your phone and wait for drivers to install
Open Odin As administrator
You should see your phone under ID:COM (you should also see it has been added in message)
Make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time is checked [ ]
Check AP [ ]
Click on [AP] And select the .tar file you just extracted (Only use AP Never use the others)
Wait for it to verify the MD5 then click [Start]
From here on out its all automated Odin will Flash the firmware then restart (dont forget first boot takes time)
If you get stuck in a boot loop go into recovery and do a factory reset (probably should regardless)

Copy SM-G920Txxx-Untouched_Stock_Restore.zip to Phone
Reboot into twrp
For firmware update do not wipe! skip to step 8. If you want untouched stock continue with step 4.
Click [Wipe]
Click [Advanced Wipe] (For full wipe stock restore only)
Select dalvik cache, system, Data and cache
Click the home Icon in the bottom left
Click [Install]
Select SM-G920Txxx-Untouched_Stock_Restore.zip
If you want root and/or twrp add UPDATE-SuperSU-vxxxxx.zip to the queue by touching [Add More Zips]

Introduction (will be deleted some time in the next couple days)
Hello everybody, I will be getting this phone next month and look forward to expanding this thread to cover more than just firmware and odin. I have made a few guides and have been told how easy it is to understand and follow compared to others. With that in mind I figured I would just nip this in the butt right now before someone beats me to the punch.
Other than odin I will also for sure be making a back to pure untouched stock for twrp which will flash the following stock images: system, kernel, modem, recovery and if we never see a locked bootloader rpm. This will have to wait until I have the phone because I refuse to make work public unless I have tested it on myself first.
Other than this first part of the op, it should stay more or less the same for the next month. post #2 will have a sandbox for the future of the op then it will turn into a spot to post answers to commonly asked questions.

Would you have a link for the stock SM-G925T tar file for TMobiles S6 Edge 128GB By chance. A Donation on my part would be more than welcome to do for you. PS....I have no clue why I cannot open any link on sammobile web. So a mirror of any sort would be highly appreciated.

Ill look into it when I get some free time. Back when I had a s3 I was getting the tar balls without the phone plugged in and without the sammobile site, need to rediscover how I did that.

I have yet to throw one together because I like to test that stuff on myself first (not getting the phone until the first). But I have a member willing to test it so if you want in on that youre more than welcome. I should have it done tonight if time allows.
Which stock firmware is this? The original one is 3.5 GB.

You recommend JOdin for Linux users. But isn't that just a front end for Heimdall, and Heimdall has not been working on Linux for a while?

I thought it got updated, I'll look into it.
Thank you for this. I rooted my phone before I installed the OTA because the TMobile rep told me the latest OTA was bricking phones. Obviously, this was not true and I couldn't update the phone. All is well now.
Would going through the process untrip the KNOX flag from rooting and such?

No! Once it's tripped, it's done. No resetting it.
I tried using JOdin last night but it couldn't ever get my PIT file and never restarted my phone. It would just say that it failed. Can I use someone else's PIT file for the same model or does it need to be specific to my phone? SM-G920T is my model, if so.
I tried odin on a friend's windows computer and it never recognized my phone when I plugged it in in download mode. so i'm not sure what is going on. :/

Ok, xda is pissing me off today. It didn't save the update last night with the link, and then it just erased the whole thread a minute ago. ARGH. Sorry guys.
Thank you for another odin recovery image, SamuriHL. Now I can port it to my i9505.
No problem. Enjoy!
