ODIN image is posted. Enjoy!

Flashed and booted without a hitch! Thanks

Not a problem. Enjoy!

Update:
I extracted the file from the 4.2.2 stock system dump and replaced it.
it has a different sha1sum than what was on the device but still i get the same error when sideload the 4.4.3 zip
got error "status 7" when sideload : "/system/bin/debuggerd" has unexpected contents."
can anyone extract the stock debuggerd file so i can replace at (/system/bin) ?

Why are you making your life more difficult than you need? Just flash this odin package and be done with it.

Hi there. I have I S4 9505g. I'm not rooted and fully stock. Can I use Odin with this system image to get root. I have experience with rooting and flashing just new to this device. I'm assuming that I have to go through and root first then put twrp on. Thanks

Yes you may. You'll need to install SuperSU from the app store before or after flashing this, but, the su binary is up to date (1.99r3) and ready to go.
Also you could just flash twrp with ODIN before rooting. Either way, this will fix you up.

Thanks man. Yea, this one took a couple hours longer to post than I'd have liked because of changes they made to the scripts. I had to re-architect my build odin script to reconcile the changes. But the modems, recovery, and full images are all posted. Not too shabby considering it was literally one day after the Nexus devices got their factory images.

My phone is rooted, and I installed Xposed framework. How do I install 4.4.3 without losing everything?
With Odin you lose everything right?

You won't lose your data. But it will overwrite your system partition, yes. You don't have a lot of options if you wanna get to 4.4.3 with the current environment you have on your phone. ODIN is pretty much it.

It is better to do a wipe data, to do a clean install? I'm afraid that Xposed and its modules can cause problems.

Don't know. I don't use xposed at all. Personally if it were me I'd flash it, see if it boots...if not, factory reset it and start over. But I'd at least try to boot it up without wiping data first. I go out of my way in all my utils to make it so users don't have to wipe data so you never know....it could work.

I've updated all my ODIN TAR threads to make it COMPLETELY clear what EVERY step is as it seems it was too difficult to follow.

Thanks. With MJ gone, you are the last Samurai for all i9505g users. We all depend on you now.:good:
Anyway to disable the System Update notification nag? I was using 4.4.2 Automanager, unchecked SystemUpdate but still no luck...

Should be able to freeze the updater apk whatever the file is. I don't know it off the top of my head but look through them and you should find it.

[Q] Updated ROM Philz JB 4.1.2 XXLT6 via Odin but won't go past samsung gt-n7000

Hope you guys can help me.
Was updating my ICS (Criskelorom) to JB 4.1.2 XXLT6 ROM of Philz (PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5) via Odin 3.07. Initially had some issues but, managed to get to where Odin resulted in a PASS. On REBOOT I only get up to the Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 screen with a yellow ! triangle at the bottom. I was able to get to both Recovery and Download modes but would never get passed to homescreen and just stay on black screen.
Did it several times and got worried I'd brick my phone so I ran the ICS zip I had stored on my SD via Recovery mode and was able to get my phone running. Still want to pursue my JB upgrade though but, not sure if I was doing it right. Any help would be much appreciated guys.
Here is what I did...
MADE SURE OF THE FF.:
1) Install USB driver for Samsung Galaxy Note to transfer files between the phone and the computer using download of KIES from Samsung site
2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone to connect the Android device with the computer
3) created a back-up of my contacts only
4) charged to above 80% battery charge
5) The phone should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier - I had unlocked it during my ICS upgrade from the GB original OS
THEN FOLLOWED THE STEPS:
Step-1: Download PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 for Samsung Galaxy Note to the computer
Step-2: Download Odin 3.07 which will help to install the root package on the phone. Extract the Odin zip to get Odin3 v3.07.exe file with some other files
Step-3: Place the Galaxy Note into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot appears on the phone's screen. Now press the Volume Up button to continue to enter into Download Mode
Step-4: Run Odin3 v3.07.exe as an Administrator
Step-5: Connect the Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait for some time until Odin detects the phone. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn yellow with the COM port number. Also, the successful connection will be indicated by a message saying Added in Odin.
Note: If the Added message does not come then try another US port, try the one located at the back side of the computer. If Odin still fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver
Step-6: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 file
Step-7: Now configure the Odin settings. Ensure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. As for the Re-Partition, uncheck the option
Step-8: Once everything is set, click the Start button in Odin. The installation should begin now and would take about few minutes to complete
Step-9: When the installation process is completed the phone will restart automatically. And soon a PASS message with green background will appear in the Odin indicating successful installation. After the home screen appears on the phone, unplug the USB cable from the device to disconnect it from the computer
Was able to reach Step-9 but my phone would not get to home screen.
Please help me with any advise anyone can give me?
thanks.
By the way, saw another option for Steps 5-6:
Step-5: Connect your Note N7000 with your PC using a data cable. Once the device is successfully connected, you will see a notification in Odin in the bottom left saying Added!! - if for some reason, you do not see the said notification, try another USB port. Also, check for ID:COM port being depicted by a number in yellow to make sure that you have successfully added your device.
Select the following files in Odin at their respective tabs from extracted XXLT6 firmware folder:
Step-6:
Click the PDA button to select the .tar file extracted earlier.
Click the Phone button, and select file with *modem* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Next, click the CSC button, and select file with *csc* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Click the PIT button to select the .pit file. (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Ensure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options selected in Odin window. Also ensure to select Re-Partition checkbox only if you are using a .pit file.
Except since I only had the TAR file I ignored the rest so I assumed I was doing it right up to that point. Also, the YELLOW highlight in Odin 3.07, wasn't yellow but kind of light blue.
That was it. All I did. Still, not succesful.
Please help.
Thanks.
Phew! That's a lot to read.. The file you are trying to flash is just a kernel not a whole rom. That's why your phone after the flash has a JB kernel and ICS rom. That's why the phone does not boot. To upgrade to JB, download a stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin the same way just in PDA of Odin.

Sorry about the read. =)
Was thinking I'd rather be complete than have anyone helping need to ask more clarifications to help me. =D
Oh that's why. Thanks for the reply. I will do that.
So I need to get the WHOLE ROM from the site you mentioned. A ROM that is complete, Kernel and all. Actually I thought I did get a complete ROM. Did not realize it was just a Kernel. What would be the best way to determine if a ROM is complete? What is usually the size of the file itself? The one I downloaded was like 8MB so I thought that was pretty big. Kinda looked for awhile for that XXLT6 original JB ROM so didn't stop to think if it was just a Kernel. My bad.
By the way, are the ROMs on Sammobile rooted? Or do I need to root them?
thanks again!

They are just stock roms, to root again use the philz kernel but for jb this time. Also use the .zip this time instead of tar file, you can flash the zip file from stock recovery itself. You can raed more in philz kernel thread

Got it, thank you Sirs you've all been a very big help. I ran into some issues with TW right after completing the install of 4.1.2. Every darn thing was stopping even acore and TW. Was about to chicken out and go back to my safety ICS ROM when I got to read some stuff about needing to Clear/Reset on Recovery mode after any firmware flashing as well as Clearing the Cache so I did. And voila, it worked. I think I'll rest my worrying brain for now on the root. =P
I'll root it next week. I'll just have fun with it for now. Been up playing around with this for over 24hours now. Having too much fun but already drained.
Thank you again for you help!
same situation here...!!!
hello XDA ppl...
I had ICS 4.0.4 and attempted to use PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0.tar.md5.
That took me to the same situation I think... kernel for JB and ICS ROM...
I power on my phone and it gets to a GT-N7000 Note + Yellow Triangle screen and NO MORE!
I can get to PhilZ Recovery Mode or ODIN Download Mode.
That´s all...
I will attempt right now what you told the creator of this thread and update if it helped.
any help is welcome...
FIXED!!!
AWESOME!!!
My bot is back again!!!
Thanks a lot guys...
This thread worked as a charm. :victory:
1. Odin 3.0.X
2. Factory Firmware
3. Flash it as PDA.
4. No yellow triangle.
5. Removed battery and waited 5 seconds.
6. recovery mode.
7. clear data/factory reset.
Done!

Safest way to get to JB with wipe (that is formatting) is to get philz kernel for ICS and then reboot to recovery do factory reset and wipe /system /data /internal storage /cache and then reboot to download mode and flash JB from odin. Else if you dont want to loose data, just boot into download mode and flash JB using odin.

Yeah!! May be you want to start by not wiping on a stock ICS kernel.

Thanks. If I wasn't headed out to dinner I'd have it done sooner. Man ART really takes a long time after an update to rebuild the binaries. LOL! But ART is definitely the way to go. Especially in light of the revelation that it's default in Android 5.0.
As promised, full image is up. Enjoy!
Looks like I got the OTA update today. Will it not work since I am rooted from your last full restore for 4.4.3?
It'll work fine if you've not modified anything. I sideloaded it while rooted.

Worked like a charm even with CWM and Xposed
Samuri, I am so, so grateful that you keep us updated on the I9505G! Thank you!
Just in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation as me, I had used Samuri's previous Full Rooted Restore for 4.4.3 with ODIN (here), then installed CWM Recovery (via Heimdall) and installed the Xposed framework. Obviously I could not use the OTA update directly! But using ODIN to get this 4.4.4 image worked just fine.
My steps, in case anyone wants it spelled out:
Uninstalled Xposed framework from within the installer just to be safe. Settings are not removed. This step is likely unnecessary, but can't hurt
Used ODIN to flash the full 4.4.4 rooted image, verified working and rooted
Re-installed CWM via Heimdall. (When rebooting, CWM asks if you want to fix root. Yes)
Re-installed Xposed and rebooted -- previous Xposed settings reactivated with no problems
There were some nandroid backups made along the way as well of course, just to be safe.
The only place I had an issue, this time and the previous time, was finding the right Samsung USB drivers. The ones on the Samsung website are ridiculously out of date and a lot of the links I found were broken or suspicious. Maybe a good driver link is something that can be added to these posts, for people who are starting fresh?
Anyway, thanks again!
I had a link to ODIN and the samsung driver but the site I linked to was serving up malware so I pulled them. I'm hosting my own ODIN link now and I don't have the latest Samsung drivers. I wonder if sammobile has them. I bet it does.
If I uninstall root, will the phone still get the next OTA?
I'm pretty sure, but wanted to be 100% sure. Couldn't find a stock image that I could flash via Odin that wasn't pre-rooted.
Nor will you find a stock ODIN image that isn't rooted because Samsung doesn't release them for us. I have to manually create them. Root and the OTA have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I routinely flash OTA's on mine while rooted. Half the time I don't even lose root by doing so. Whether you choose to leave it or remove it won't have any impact on receiving the next OTA.

So I found out while I was on vacation. sigh. The site I was linking to had a malware infected version apparently. I've been using this version without issue for quite some time. It came from this site with all the versions included.
Custom kernel via odin?
Your image worked perfectly; thank you.
Have you ever run across a way to get a custom kernel as a flashable Odin image?
Looking for the alucard kernel..
Thank you sir for any information that you might have.
I imagine you could make a flashable odin image from it. There are some ODIN image tutorials/guides out there that you could follow. I have no experience with that personally.

Do you have a non-rooted version for the US I9505G. I need to return to stock as I have attempted to use "unroot", but Good for Enterprise is still saying my phone is rooted.

[GUIDE] odin guide

Who can benefit from this?
Anyone who softbricked with access to download mode
Anyone who wants to use the OTA function after root
Anyone who needs to send the phone in for repair
Anyone who wants to be on the most recent firmware and cannot use the OTA
Anyone who wants to downgrade *Unknown at this time downgrade at your own risk
Anyone who wants to return to stock from aosp or aokp
Linux and Mac users must follow the Odin method using the correct PIT file (will upload soon) and substitue Odin with Jodin3 found HERE and spam AdamOutler thanks button for making Jodin3 (AP in odin is PDA in jodin)

Introduction (will be deleted some time in the next couple days)
Hello everybody, I will be getting this phone next month and look forward to expanding this thread to cover more than just firmware and odin. I have made a few guides and have been told how easy it is to understand and follow compared to others. With that in mind I figured I would just nip this in the butt right now before someone beats me to the punch.
Other than odin I will also for sure be making a back to pure untouched stock for twrp which will flash the following stock images: system, kernel, modem, recovery and if we never see a locked bootloader rpm. This will have to wait until I have the phone because I refuse to make work public unless I have tested it on myself first.
Other than this first part of the op, it should stay more or less the same for the next month. post #2 will have a sandbox for the future of the op then it will turn into a spot to post answers to commonly asked questions.

Would you have a link for the stock SM-G925T tar file for TMobiles S6 Edge 128GB By chance. A Donation on my part would be more than welcome to do for you. PS....I have no clue why I cannot open any link on sammobile web. So a mirror of any sort would be highly appreciated.

Ill look into it when I get some free time. Back when I had a s3 I was getting the tar balls without the phone plugged in and without the sammobile site, need to rediscover how I did that.

I have yet to throw one together because I like to test that stuff on myself first (not getting the phone until the first). But I have a member willing to test it so if you want in on that youre more than welcome. I should have it done tonight if time allows.
Which stock firmware is this? The original one is 3.5 GB.

You recommend JOdin for Linux users. But isn't that just a front end for Heimdall, and Heimdall has not been working on Linux for a while?

I thought it got updated, I'll look into it.
Thank you for this. I rooted my phone before I installed the OTA because the TMobile rep told me the latest OTA was bricking phones. Obviously, this was not true and I couldn't update the phone. All is well now.
Would going through the process untrip the KNOX flag from rooting and such?

No! Once it's tripped, it's done. No resetting it.
I tried using JOdin last night but it couldn't ever get my PIT file and never restarted my phone. It would just say that it failed. Can I use someone else's PIT file for the same model or does it need to be specific to my phone? SM-G920T is my model, if so.
I tried odin on a friend's windows computer and it never recognized my phone when I plugged it in in download mode. so i'm not sure what is going on. :/

And keep updating us brother peace!!
There are people out there who maintain roms for other devices by using these ODIN images. They work just fine, but, I do not support them in any way other than posting the images here. I'd prefer to keep this thread specific to the 9505g, however. Otherwise it could confuse people and I don't want anyone on a non-9505g device trying to flash these ODIN images thinking it might work cause it ill brick them. I get what you're going to do, but, others may overlook it.
The original PC1 image was bad. I just now replaced it with a new image, so if you downloaded it before this post was made, redownload it.
This does not include the bootloader?
No, I don't include the bootloader in the image. It's never really been needed for most people.
Great work as always Sam will fix updated version for s4

[GUIDE][G870A] Downgrade S5 Active MM6.0->LP5.0

DISCLAIMERI am not responsible for any damage done to your device. The following guide is to be used at your discretion, you are taking the risk of rendering your phone unusable. It is also advised to Factory Reset while following this guide, so backup, backup, backup! Only attempt if you are confident in doing so!
Marshmallow to LollipopA recent development has allowed us to root the G900A/G870A on 5.1.1., which you can find here. There is a guide for G900A users to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.0, but I wanted to provide a guide for Active users to do the same. Once you have downgraded to 5.0, you can root using this new method, or update to 5.1.1 and root. I was regretting my upgrade to MM, it wasn't worth the cost of root and custom roms, so this was exactly what I needed to love this phone again. Now, on to the guide.
Step 1
Download the necessary files using the following links:
G870A OF3 ODIN TARBALL
ODIN 3.11
Step 2
I will make the assumption you have the Samsung USB Drivers installed and can see your phone in File Explorer. Extract both of the downloaded files wherever you'd like, you'll have an Odin folder, and four files from the tarball: BL, AP, CP, and CSC files. Put them in their own folder, just to avoid any mistakes with flashing. Run Odin as Admin and you'll see 4 slots, which you'll fill with the 4 tar.md5 files you just extracted. You'll load the tar files into their appropriate slots, IE AP_* into the AP slot, and you will encounter delays as Odin reads and verifies the files.
Step 3
As a precaution, it's recommended to have your phone charged to at least 75%. Now to restart the phone into Download Mode, you do so by powering off the phone, then power on the phone holding the Volume Down + Home keys. Once in download mode, hook the phone up to your USB cable attached to your PC. (Most failed ODIN flashes are due to USB cables, you may need to try a few)
Step 4
Go back to Odin and you should see your phone show up in COM box. Once you've verified that the phone is showing up, verify that you have all of the tar files loaded into the appropriate slots, and push Start. You'll see the progress as each file is flashed, look for any error messages. Once everything is flashed, your phone should reboot and you'll see a green pass. At this point, I recommend doing a battery pull or hold down Volume Down + Home + Power keys until the phone reboots. Once it shuts off, immediately hold down Volume Up + Home to boot into recovery. Now just do a quick factory reset, wipe the cache, and reboot. You should now be back to OF3, you can verify this in recovery, or by going to About Device under Settings, under baseband it should read G870AUCU2BOF3.
Step 5
At this point, you can use the previously mentioned guide to obtain root. If interested, once you have root you can head over to the Unofficial List of Roms and use FlashFire to flash a shiny new rom.
I'd just like to thank @AptLogic for his contributions, as well as @719c6 for finding the OF3 tarballs.
Thanks a lot! Just wanted to report I downgraded successfully and will try to work on rooting next. Thanks!
Hello,
same here, downgraded via ODIN to 5.0.... I'd really like to update, though but couldnt find the data file yet -
coluld anyone help me with a link to a suitable update file from OF3 to OI5?
Thanks
plx
EDIT: oops, sorry, wasnt OI5 but OJ3 - found and updated...

The lowest you can downgrade to is OF3, which you can do by following the guide. The OF3 firmware uses the same bootloader as MM, so we were able to downgrade, NE4 uses an older bootloader, and we are not able to downgrade bootloaders.
Sorry.

It was linked in the OP, but it's in this thread. Apparently, they're having an issue getting it to root now, so if you get it to root, report feedback on the thread and make sure to keep it. I was lucky enough to downgrade, root, and flash my favorite rom, Xtrestolite. Finally have my phone running nice and smooth again, I won't be jeopardizing my root on this phone anymore.
Good luck!

Are you using Supersume?
That app (it is paid) automatically uninstalls kingroot and replaces it with supersu, and as far as I know, you have to use it for everything to work properly.

Yea, refer to the linked root thread in OP, there was some modification to kingroot that broke the exploit. I haven't been there in a few days, not sure if they found a workaround yet.
It's unfortunate, but another method or workaround could pop up anytime.

I need more then that to go on. Off the top of my head, I'd recommend a different USB cable and also a verification that the PIT files were downloaded properly, as in, they aren't somehow corrupted.

Just want to check, but for obtaining root I would follow Steps 1-6 in the OP linked guide and then do I follow through with Step 7 (flash 900a PreRooted OF3 ROM -- as described in the link) or do I jump straight to a new custom ROM?
If it helps, I'm trying to flash this ROM (XtreStoLite) to my 870a, which should work based on this post

Im already on OF3, but when I try to install the "combination" file from the guide you mention, ODIN doesnt install anything, tried different PC , usb ports, and usb cables aswell. is this the only way to get root? I mean it would be easier if we had a TWRP working for our device.
That's not for the active. It's for the 900A
