Can't enter recovery- GT-I9295 strange behaviour - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
i'm in trouble installing a custom ROM on a S4 Active (GT-I9295, Baseband IXXUDOB4, 5.0.1).
Flashed CF--Autoroot with Odin, no problem.
Then i flashed TWRP, Odin showed its green "PASS!"-message but i can't boot into recovery.
I'm well aware of the timing issue when doing the first reboot into a custom recovery, and i assure you this isn't the problem.
I tried countless times, after a while i installed ROM manager to try if i could flash the ROM file that way.
It installed another custom recovery -CWM- on top, and also showed up the TWRP recovery:

Still, booting into any recovery does not work, neither from ROM managers menu or via any button-press combination.
When pressing vol up+home+power, the phone shows the blue "revovery loading"-line AND the red line *****ing about the root, but continues to boot as if it had been switched on normally.
I even looked for the ominous "install-sh" script in system/etc to understand why nothing gets me into recovery-
what the heck can this be?!
Did the same thing to S6 and S5 without any hassle, i'm stuck with this for several days now and i am running out of ideas.
Anyone...?

Not a very technical answer, but have you tried pulling the battery out for 30 seconds and trying again?

Yes we did, unfortunately, this also didn`t help.
Tried loads of things actually, still impossible to access that damn recovery

[Q] Stock restore fails, but I won't give up! (Help please)

So I'm trying to get my VZN Galaxy Tab back on its feet. After trying to get Gingerbread in it so I can use Netflix - and failing - I'm going through a lot of motions.
Okay. First I rooted it with Super One Click. I should have been happy with that, but noooo. Then I tried flashing GB on it (I wish I can remember which ROM I started with...it's a mess. I think the pit file was gt-p1000_mr? Does that sound right?).
When that didn't work, I went to the much-cross-posted procedure for returning it to stock using Heimdall and SCH-i800_VZW_stock. Tried it five times. Each time, it booted into the Galaxy Tab/Samsung logos, then a fast glimpse of scrambled letters for a second followed by twinkly music, then black nothingness. It would then bootloop. I attempted to boot into recovery to wipe data/cache, but I couldn't get there. Vol-Up/Pwr just brought up the logo and scrambled video again.
Since I was still able to get into download mode, I tried flashing another ROM...this one the "P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ" method. With this, I was able to also flash CWM so I have SOME recovery mode. Sadly, booting brings up the GT/SAMSUNG logos and I get the spacey animation, but after that, again - blackness. This time, however, the Menu/Home/Back/Search buttons light up, so something's happening in there.
Also, booting into CWM, I cannot get my sdcard to be recognized. I tried different cards, so there's something goofy with the slot itself, I'm guessing.
So nothing is really working, but since I can get into CWM and also download modes, I'm holding out hope that this is not completely bricked.
I just need to find the right method of getting it back to a functioning tablet. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all eyes. Thanks so much.
UPDATE: I tried reflashing stock using the tried and true method. But this time, I went in and flashed CWM replacing the stock recovery which never worked for me. I got the Galaxy Tab/Samsung logo, and at long last, the animated VZW logo. Then it would bootloop there. I booted into CWM recovery and wiped the data/system and the cache from the first page. It still booted and bootlooped the same. This time, I booted into recovery, went to the mounts and storage section and formatted the system, data and cache. Opening logo only. CWM again, and got a whole bunch of "cache missing" messages. But I think I'm getting closer. Back to work.
UPDATE II: So the farthest I can get is the animated VZW logo using the combo of the stock flash through Heimdall, then flashing CWM with Odin. Still no sdcard access. Anything I should try here? Thanks.

Did anyone figure out how to restore Verizon tab?

[Q] Phone black screen at boot, no buttons work for booting.

Hello there, nice people of these forums
Yesterday my phone randomly wouldn't boot anymore. I was on an ICS ROM I had just flashed the day before, so it wasn't that much of an issue though. I just thought I'd reflash a stock ROM via Odin and that all would be well again.
Here's what happened:
- I flashed with the PDA, Phone and CSC boxes checked (and yes, I've got the right files in the right places).
- I flashed with a .pit file I've used countless times before
- I flashed with the repartition box checked (also tried it a few times without, actually).
So after this, my phone reboots, and goes straight into ClockworkMod Recovery. When I try to install a zip from the SD card (another ROM) OR choose the "reboot system now", option, it doesn't matter which I choose, it just goes off (or boots into a black screen, I can't tell).
When I then try to manually reboot the phone by holding the power button, it doesn't do anything (I've reinserted the battery lots of times). Also, my 3-button-combo for the recovery menu isn't working. The only thing that's working is my download mode.
Would you please help me with this problem? Thanks!
EDIT: While I have no idea how I did it, I seem to have fixed my phone. It now boots again and everything works flawlessly. Thanks for your time anyway

[Q] Can't boot to recovery or download mode, Bootloader seems to be locked as well.

I have a Samsung SIII mini, Latin version (i8190L) and use it with the Virginity Rom, since the version 8, updating everytime a new one comes out.
Never had a problem whatsoever. I flashed the recently out Virginity V12 with aroma installer just to update. I backed up everything so I could make all of the wipes and then flashed it as new. The thing is that I chose the Honami Xperia Keyboard and I didn't like it because it was working somewhat buggy. So I tried (after just a couple of days) to reboot to recovery, to reflash the rom, just using the traditional S4 keyboard. To my surprise. I couldn't.
I can't boot to recovery, I can't boot to download and the bootloader seems to be locked as well. When finishing the installation and rebooting the device just after v12 was installed, the recovery gave me as a final option if I wanted to disable recovery boot, to which I chose no.
I tried rebooting using the button combination, but everytime I do, it just boots normally, as if I only had held down the power button. I tried also to use the built in reboot menu, which has an option to reboot to recovery or download, and either of them had success.
I don't know what to do, I don't want to be without recovery or download mode, in case i need them. Is this some kind of brick? the device is working perfectly, all of the apps work, and the ROM works fine, so I can fully use my device.
Also, I read on a previous post of a person who couldn't get into recovery but could get into download, he was told to delete the system file "install-recovery.sh" and then flash romracer's recovery via fastboot. I did delete the file, but fastboot did not work for me, it just kept saying "waiting for device" however my phone was connected and USB debbugging active.
Can you please help me?
Also, sorry if my english is bad, not a native speaker, and sorry if I'm too "noobbish" i'm relatively new to this stuff.

galaxy note 4 (sm-n910t) caught in boot loop and won't enter to recovery.pls help

my galaxy note 4 (sm-n910t) caught in bootloop . i dont know what caused it. the phone simply restarts upto first bootscreen, ie upto 'samsung galaxy note 4' and then vibrates and then restarts.this process continues upto battery is down or i pull out battery.the phone is not entering to recovery mode but enters to download mode.
i have tried installing stock rom from sammobiles but it won't help.i have also installed custom recovery twrp but that also won't help to enter to recovery mode,
i am trapped pls help..
You didn't mention how you tried to install the stock ROM . Did you use Odin?
I just fixed mine with the same issue. I was able to boot into recovery and download mode but mostly download mode without bootloop when I had the usb cable plugged in. I used ADB when I could to boot into download mode, but the buttons worked too. Trying to restart the phone only lopped after the Google screen.
I followed several guides here to flash stock with Odin and wipe cache etc but none solved my boot loop issue. almost gave up but there is a video on You Tube that said the battery warping in the cause of the boot loop. The battery, after/during quick charge, may heat up and change shape causing the issue. Today I installed my new battery purchased on amazon and no more issues.
Now I am on stock and have to find a good rom.
If you do decide to flash back to stock there are a lot of good guides. You may find yourself stuck on the T-mobile screen for 15 minutes when booting for the first time but that is ok. If you still boot loop after installing stock and wiping cache I would try the battery.

hi OP,
did you find any solution to your problem?
Hello all. I'm also pasting this in the T-mobile thread in case it can be of benefit to someone. This is advice to use as a very last resort if you are experiencing the recovery bootloop issue AND you don't have the emmc failure bug. I had the recovery reboot, sudden shutdown with no warning, etc. issue for the past two weeks. I tried everything on Google and Youtube to fix my problem with no success. I flashed multiple stock ROMS and recovery tars (stock and TWRP) via ODIN, but nothing worked. Oddly enough, I never received the emmc error that I have read about. Also, in the few times that my phone booted normally, I even loaded the Wakelock Power Manager app, set it to partial wakelock and my phone STILL continued to bootloop. As a last resort, I bought a new battery, but the reboot problems continued in Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, 6.0 Marshmallow, 7.1 Nougat and 8.1 Oreo ROMS. Well, here is what finally helped me to get my phone back operational. I had a backup ROM from a previous install and a TWRP flashable version of the same ROM on my SD card (in case the phone did not stay on for the full restore). I put the phone into a ziplock bag into a freezer for about 20 min. (thankfully this time TWRP stayed on long enough for me to do the following):
1) copy all the files I wanted to save from internal storage to a computer.
2) performed a full wipe (Dalvic, Cache, System, etc. Like when flashing a ROM, but this time also internal storage. Note: Please do not wipe both internal and SD card, as you may have a difficult time trying to load the ROM file back on the sd card (assuming you don't have a card reader).
3) After wiping, I was able to restore my stock ROM backup (or you can just flash the stock ROM).
I can't be 100% sure, but I think my wiping internal and then flashing the stock ROM finally did the trick. Since this morning, the phone has been pretty much back to as it was before. In either case, I'm sharing this with the hope that it helps someone else.

"Bricked" Note 8, can't boot into TWRP

So I tried to mod my phone (with this, if you're interested https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...creen-t3759567) but I did something stupid. I thought TWRP was working properly but I'd installed Oreo and didn't wipe data. Well I installed the zip anyway. At the end, an error showed up (could not mount /data or something similar) and my phone will now not boot.
If I try to boot the phone, it just vibrates and stays black. Volume Down + Power + Bixby gets the phone out of this state and the charging screen shows again. I can't boot into TWRP at all. I can boot into download mode but Odin keeps failing when I try to reflash the XEF Oreo firmware (screenshot is in the attachment, it says passed but doesn't attempt to flash the files). I managed to flash TWRP which worked but since I can't boot into it it didn't help. Anthing else I can flash with Odin, or can anybody tell me what's going on / if it's unrecoverable? (I've tried a couple of different versions, they all exhibit the same behaviour)

There is a newer version of odin, are you using that? You will need that to flash Oreo. Can get it in the link below. Odin v3.13.1
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3677072
Doh! Had it already, was the only one I didn't try. It's flashing now. Many thanks
