Hey mate I downloaded the weekly 44 so is that the one that will work and sdcard work instead of the sim card 2
KW02 is my latest work. Base on B220
Ok well the kw02 faild but kw44 worked and v1.1 didnt work I am confused to why it said just the update binary failed
If update binary failed you can try two things. First one is copy the rom again to your phone and the second one just reboot into recovery again after failed flashing and try again.

Cant find aa twrp with cust
Look at Android-hilfe.de.
But this one had a reboot Bug. If you reboot into recovery from PC or App you get a TWRP Bootloop.
Only reboot into recovery with Vol and Power Button.

im considering putting this rom on my phone, there are a few questions i have tho.
is this rom more stocklike? the biggest reason for putting on a custom rom is getting rid of Emui, does this accomplish that?
and are you going to develop for marshmallow?

If you have Google chrome dev it translates it for you
Emui is still there because that have lot of features that i dont wanna miss.
Im still working on a CM Rom and Full Debloated Stock Rom but at the moment i dont have much time for
my hobby.
ah thats a real shame. id like it if we got a cyanogen mod for this phone. i dont care all that much for emui since i dislike bloatware in general.

Hey fellas, I just bought a LG 4x HD from Amazon for $417 only...and I know about the locked bootloader and such but that didn't stop me from getting this awesome phone. Anyways, just like what the title states as soon as I get the phone should I update it to the latest firmware right away or should I root it first then download Root keeper and then update to the latest firmware?
Any input will be greatly appreciated and really looking forward to begin working on this awesome device! Some people may know of the kind of work and support i've provided with other devices such as the G2X, T989 Galaxy S2, HTC Amaze, T999 Galaxy S3, and the Asus TF300t.
Doesn't matter here. You can do either first, root persists for ota and can be done on any version.

I see so if I rooted first then updated it would still retain root access? Even without worrying about using RootKeeper?

For me it did. I had rootkeeper installed and did a backup, but I dind't have to restore it. And many others reported that it stayed rooted even without rootkeeper. Of course this only applies to the FOTA upgrade, not for flashing a .kdz file.

Even flashing from a .kdz file (most part of the times, not always) the ROOT remains.
The ROOT is eliminated when web upgraded, by the LG Upgrade Tool.
This is the most comun result, not saying that don't existe exceptions...

Yesterday I flashed Liquid Smooth (KitKat and latest build), after rebooting I needed to log in to Google Account of course, but it didn't work, then I just canceled it and would do it later but then saw that my WiFi and my Network icons are orange, that means no internet connection. It doesn't change, so now I have no internet. So today I wanted to flash Carbon ROM (build 11) so I tought it may be better if I flash stock firmware, so I properly flashed latest firmware (Argentina) booted up and my wifi just worked fine?! So now I was going to flash Carbon ROM (last build) I started flashing and just did full wipe (as always), rebooted and again I could't log in to Google Account because I again had no internet connection, No WiFi and no network (signal from both are good, also nothing is wrong with this WiFi). After that I also tried CM11 but also the same.. I tried airplane mode on/off, change date and rebooting but nothing worked!
I have never experienced this, don't know what to do anymore, I really can't live with stock or another TouchWiz ROM
Really hope that someone knows how to fix.

I am on LiquidSmooth now. And I do not have problem. Try to reset WIFI router maybe, maybe you do not get IP from DHCP.
And try to changing settings in Advanced WI-FI options, region code, frequency band... And see if you get an IP address from router.

Nothing worked man
WiFi router reset did nothing, either with playing with region code and frequency band, and I get IP adress from router.
Nothing works, I've flashed several basebands, LQL LQ4 and the Argentina one but no results.
I really don't understand this, it just came out of nowhere..

Hm, I am not sure what it could be... Try CM10.1 too, to see if it works on it for example.

Will give it a try, also flashed Tesla's script but also no results.
Try to flash another Stock Rom with Odin ... not the one from Argentinia ... where are you from?

Have tried several man, LQL LQ4 but no results. I'm from The Netherlands.
Soooo now, I've flashed CM 10.1 and everything works just fine, no problem just like I usually have on KitKat ROMs.
Pretty weird.

Thanks for the tip, but to be honest I never make a backup because it takes some space and I need that for music and in the end I just flash firmware with Odin when there are problems.
Soo now guys, IT IS WORKING And I'm happy as hell
Pretty weird, I flashed CM 10.1 and after that I flashed Carbon and now everything is working like it should be.
So today I wanted to flash CM11 by NovaFusion, flashed ROM + gapps then rebooted but again no connection (orange icons).
So then I went to recovery and flashed ROM, booted up, booted back in recovery and then flashed Gapps and then it worked.
It seems that I can't flash ROM and Gapps after each other anymore, in the past this always went great.
EDIT: Now I've got some weird ****, icons keep staying orange but I have connection, I can do everything.. This is really really weird..

Did you try to format your system once? I mean to make your phone fully clean? Try to format /system as default, do a fully reset ... Reset to the factory settings, flash Stock again, reset once more to the factory settings, format your SD card and then flash your favourite rom again ... Hope it will work ... but be careful at formating ... you can brick your device easily ...

So I read asus Unlock tool only works with Android 4.2 or later.
I have an android version 4.4 and asus Unlock is not working.
The only reasonable way out is a downgrade to 4.2 and use the asus Unlock.
But how to do it.:crying:

so I tried to go back to 4.2.2 and 4.3. this method.
uploads kind but crashes error and I do restart and returns to 4.4

Ok v1 is the right one. Does the SD update method not work? You folowed step by step the guide in transformer forum? For me this worked

I did like the description a few times and different versions of wasps and effect the same error.
But I checked it should work tools unlock v.1.0 with Android 4.4 and will not work, however, remains in contact with the asus VIP service and try again sd updates
Do you think that the error downgrade the fault of the sd card (samsung evo 16GB)?
You wrote that you do downgrade easily tf701- which company you use your sd card?
I think that is possible because my old ASUS P320 was selective on the sd card.

im in the same predicament.. cant unlock boot loader from 4.4.2 .. ik cant unlock and no luck down grading.

I reported a problem with unlocking my device to asus carriage, then wipe data recovery, and utility asus unlock the site asus. Without a Google account use asus unlock tool. If he did not go, you are downloading from the last rom asus v 4.4.2 11.4.1.30 and update from sd card. Sorry for my English, good luck
Hi, ive been stuck with the same problem for six months now, ASUs service refuse to help. Has anyone made a capture of the remote handshake from a successful unlock sequence? Id like to work out whether the unlockconfirmation is a simple handshake or a download of replacement bootloader firmware etc. Surely this can be reverse engineered?
Can anyone try or has tried this method to root the P8 Lite (possibly Marshmallow)?

I wasn't going to do it, that's why I opened this thread to ask if someone already had tried it. I surely know that this, Kingroot and others, are highly risky as it can lead to bootloops, hard or soft bricks.
And I was hoping to skip the bootloader unlocking =D .
By the way, can you link me that sokkobans method? Did you you tried that by yourself?
You can install Sokkoban's deodexed custom ROM or install SuperSU by TWRP but as first version 2.62 and the anyone you want.
Yeah, stay away from kingroot if you can.

I will stay away from Kingroot. But I will probably even stay away from root because I don't like unlocking the bootloader.

Sokkoban's method might be fine, but i have a problem installing TWRP on my phone so it's out. I outlined it in another post and i am still waiting for advice ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/help/help-rooting-p8-lite-ale-l21-dual-sim-t3391567 ).

I have just tried the method you linked at the top (with a PC) it does not work. What is more it installs three one click apps which I don't need (cleaners etc.) The other problem is that the whole application / program is mostly in Chinese ideograms which are alien-speak to me, so I don't want to risk more so I immediately uninstalled the PC program and the apps. Anyway it does not work for me.

Kindly help me upgrade my Mate S to current EMUI version. first of all I would like you to know that I live in the Philippines and bought the unit in Dubai last December 2015, it has the build number CRR-UL00C433B114 EMUI version 3.1. I tried contacting Huawei Customer Support if they can help me with my problem but didn't receive any response from them. I also have read one of the threads here that I cant just simply use other country's update to my unit as it has different region and such (correct me if I understand it wrong). I would greatly appreciate it if you can spoonfed me the step by step procedures on how I can update my Unit.

Just download the B355 Update.app and place in the dload folder on your sdcard. Then open the EMUI Update App, press on menu on the bottom and then "update from local file". B355 should be listed there.
If the Update fails at under 10% with the message "incompatible version", try updating to B146 first.
