AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

I guess it'll be next awesome ROM!
Great and thanks in advance!!!

Getting a bootloop with the kltespr version. I've tried multiple different gapps packages as well (Open Gapps, Slim Gapps, etc.).
Did a full wipe (cache/dalvik, system, data, format data) as well beforehand and no go. Let it sit for a good 20 minutes too.

I have a T-Mobile galaxy s5 (klte) do these types of custom roms only work when phones are activated? Because ever since my phone is no longer in service custom roms never seem to work. :/
That or I just don't know how to flash custom roms anymore. ? haha

tried it on klte with open gapps and witk slim.. after wiping system, data, cache and dalvik the rom boots well without gapps. after flashing gapps gets boot-loop upon finishing "optimizing apps". tried several times never passes that stage

On kltespr it will boot up fine without gapps but I could not find a gapps that wouldn't give me tons of FC's ... Without gapps though the ROM runs fast and smooth.

Awesome. I'll give the pico build of open gapps a try. I wonder what it is with other gapps packages that makes this boot loop? Weird! Thanks for testing it out!

About Us: Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

I've been trying to download that but it stops the download. I've tried it on two different browsers by the way.
Sent from my DROID Mini using Tapatalk
Edit: I was able to get it downloaded. But, the lock screen shows a delay when you hit the power button.
Edit2: I am seeing a lot of lag in most of the ROM it's self. I don't think it has to do with anything I installed because it was doing it after a fresh install.

Wipe Everything INCLUDING internal storage. You most likely have $hit left over from another ROM. Make sure you have PC available to put ROM back on the device from TWRP to flash.

No, you need all the data remnants removed. That's why we CLEAN flash going from ROM to ROM. I use the file manager in TWRP to delete every single folder on the internal SD card except the one where my zip files for the ROM and GAPPS reside. This way there are no issues...
Sent from my Dirty Droid Maxx
this rom is great. I ran it the last two days. wiped data in twrp, but not internal storage. I had zero issues with it. everything is smooth and great, especially battery life compared to stock and latest cm12.1. thank you so much @BDAZZG1 This is the best Droid Maxx rom.
edit: I don't know if it makes a difference, but I am running the modded for Obake TWRP ver 2.8.4.0 nor the recommended version. again OP, thank you and the rest of the Dirty Unicorns team for standing out and making a device that has had little love be completely amazing.

About
MoKee OpenSource is based on the CM. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.
A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Like most contributors of open source projects (Omni, CyanogenMod, Slim AOSPA etc), we are doing all these in our free time as our passion…
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development (maintain new devices, contribute code etc). Newcomers are always welcomed!
Read here for developer application: http://www.mfunz.com/en/developer-application, you can host your unofficial MoKee builds on our server!

choose zip from SD and install
you can use a gapps any of its taste since it is for android 6.0.x
or you can go MokeeCenter after starting rom, there you can download the small gapps integrated into the system and have a lighter and clean rom.
To install upgrade:
Method 1:
just download the complete package via OTA
enter the recovery
only to wipe cache and dalvik (optional, I do not)
install the complete package downloaded via OTA
Method 2:
Download the complete package over the air and go to install update
let install automatically for you
Method 3:

for that you need to donate 30 CNY for the team to release the feature on the device directly
But you can do this update without donation

I flashed du6 and then the fix and rebooted and everything was fine just no gapps so downloaded a gapps from du6 option menu under misc i think but it kept saying playservices stopped even after clearing all google apps data and cache so flashed the gapps u linked above and had same issue and then tried system wipe, flash du6, gapps and fix and same issue.

Hey thanks for the help and am going to try orionos here in just a min really appreciate it alot! Out of curiousity, do u know whats involved in making a rom that enables loop device capability so that linux can be installed on top of the android os? I occasionally still run negalite rom and have the app loop device checker and it says its loop device capable but havent really found any other roms that are. The app says a loop device is a psuedo device that makes a file accessible as a block device. -its unknown language to me but thought maybe u would know,
Awesome ROM, but no clear all button in recent app menu.
Please make it for T-210 too

i clicking cca 10 min ...
clicking maybe 100 times , no start
Flashed 2016-11-05(i9195) with open gapps-arm-nano 20161106
Setup wizard crashed but pressed close 6 or 7 times and it went to the initial setup screen. Pico TTS aslo crashed once in the setup.
As has been reported in CM14.1, the file manager doesn't work as it should; fails to see the ext sd card after root permissions, but es file explorer works well. Also battery icon wont change in status bar(CM issue as well)
Calls(incoming & outgoing) works
sms/mms works
camera/video recording & playback works
wifi works
bluetooth works
I'll test further in the next couple days

You could try a gapps-config to leave out setup wizard, it might let you past the app crash

Flash with no gapps, boot into it then flash gapps. I tried that on an LTE and works
I tested this on both DS and LTE, should work just as well as CM 14.1 if not better. Will speak with Team Kang about the setup wizard, they switched over to the AOSP version instead of the CM one and I see this is causing some issues.

It's works once we flash gapps and rom separately. First flash rom boot then gapps....I am using without any issues with aroma gapps on DS.
Any update?
Not for now. arco is working on some new issues that popped up with the camera and I would like yo wait a little to see what is going to happen.
New builds are up for all devices. Issues with the AOSP setup wizard are fixed, so those flashing it clean along with gapps will have a different, nicer experience, not the same old CM wizard
wizard setup stopped for me, using new build and open gapps micro 20161029...any idea?

I tried LTE version with opengapps mini, worked flawlessly. If you keep having issues, flash rom first, boot into it then flash gapps separately.

When I restart my phone i am loosing both Sims cards (sim not working). To get both Sims i need to restart phone almost 5-6 times. Could you please help me to resolve this issue?

Fantastic rom. So fast and has tons of features.
The bad: Android Auto doesn't work. That seems to be a theme with all Pie customs roms

Glad u liked it thanks for screenies
Just flashed the ROM. It's fast, fluid, and feature packed. Only issue I've found so far is if you have pin lock, fingerprint lock etc set and reboot it gets stuck on 'phone is starting' and you (I) have to disable it to get past it.

is your device decrypted? i.e. did u format /data or do a fastboot -w before flashing this or basically did u ever do this?

No my device is encrypted. This happened on a prior ROM about a week ago. Was happening to quite a few of us. The issue was having any screen lock security set other than swipe up.
For instance when it gets stuck in PHONE IS STARTING it'll be stuck there indefinitely unless I fingerprint swipe down>open settings from QS> security>disable screen lock and it will pass the phone is starting

Exactly so basically most if the ROMs out there in the XDA community as of now require the /data to be decrypted. Basically the best thing is to get rid of it.
For that backup everything in the internal storage
Then do a fastboot - w
And then u can flash anything.

I just flashed another ROM data encrypted. No issues. I've only had this happen on one other rom as I mentioned. The dev fixed it and posted update the next morning.

I know how to take a logcat. I actually already flashed a different ROM. But I REALLY want Resurrection Remix to work. So maybe tomorrow I'll reflash and reproduce to and post a logcat.

Hello guys. I very nice ROM but the charging led doesn't work and is enabled. Anyone can confirm this?
I keep getting Error 70 for not enough storage to install GApps even I have more than enough. My active slot is b. And why is that GApps 9.0 says not compatible when I tried to flash

That makes sense cuz the rom will not boot with encrypted /data. So if he did get it to boot that means there's something wrong besides the encrypted /data thing
