Difference in P8 lite models ?? - P8lite General

Hi,
I've receveid a ALE-L02 model from Asia.
I'me living in France
And I see that you are always speaking about L21 or other model
What are the difference beetween thèses models ?
I have no NFC parameter on mine, and this is a big probleme cause I choose this phone for the NFC
I don't think Huawei made different hardware, then perhaps with a other ROM I could have the NFC ?
What about the différences, do you think I could put a L21 ROM in my model ??
Thanks

I believe they have the same hardware just using different bands. Based on the threads I read, they're able to use L21 ROMs on an L02. Just make sure your carrier supports the bands L21 is using. Don't forget to back up though.

OK, thanks for the post
I'm a newbie, and I will try to start flashing a L21 ROM

P8 lite without NFC, where could I find a modem ROM

Hi,
My P8 was a L02 model, without NFC.
I've rooted to a L21 B188, but I still do not have NFC in the wireless & network parameters
I think I have to change the modem ROM, but where could I find this ?
Thanks for the help !!
Have you try to factory reset your device's and wipe cache in the stock recovery (and on TWRP if you have it, if it's the case make a wipe dalvik too).
It's can help you before have to reflash all.
Hello, the most secure and easy is to reflash a entire firmware.
Also you can find the modem files in your current firmware with the huwaei firmware extractor.
I'm sure you have to unroot your device's before for properly flashing your device's
Yes, I reflashed it with the original recovery ROM : ALE-L21C432B188 cause I was with a ALE-L02 before, with no NFC.
I thougth that flashing the recovery original ALE-L21 ROM could change this, but no. Then I Thought the modem ROM was not flashed ?
Really I don't know how to have NFC (no NFC in the "more", Wireless&networks parameters) on this phone. I don't think that the hardware could be different ?
@gduriez Hi, I'm also on L02 and I have some questions but this will be off topic in this thread. Can I pm you?
Yes of course
But I'm a newbie
Hi! I also have L02. When you flashed the L21 firmware did you encounter any problems? I'm really tempted to flash but I can't lose my phone for more than a day because of my job. Also is the LTE bands the same? Thanks!
No any visible change for me, it is the same than before : LTE band OK in France, not changed
And still no NFC, really I don't know how can it be possible
ALE L02 does not support NFC,,, I have this device

Yes I know
But I don't think Huawei made diffrerents hardware for a same model (P8lite)
That's why I have put a L21 ROM in my L02 P8lite.
Now, my phone say it's a L21, but I still do not have NFC
Or perhaps I could find offical specifications that is saying L02 model do not have NFC ? but I didn' find.
Conversely, there are many offical spec that's say P8lite have NFC ....
It's possible that P8L02 do not have the NFC antenna, but I really don't think.
I think that L02, is for some countries, with NFC not activated.
perhaps, if someone could see inside the phone, with a great expertise ?
NFC Chip
The Huawei P8 Lite (ALE - L02) does not contain a NFC card/sticker hence the L21 ROM would not implement any change. I have a L02 and L21 and recently stripped both of them to replace swollen battery (L02) and change antennae(L21)

I do not think it is possible to go onto an android build from another variant. Thing is, most builds are device specific, so a build from one variant will not work on another. You have the ALE-L02 variant, and you want to go onto a ALE-L21 Variant build... IMO, you might just end up with a brick.
But than again, I can be proven wrong...
You can't go to l21,there are some differences wich are not supported for your version

[Q] Flash EVA-L19 Full Stock Rom on EVA-DL00 possible?

Hi!
I would like to know about supported firmwares for the chinese dual sim 32 gb model. If cust will be configured to C432 using SRK Tool will it be possible to flash a full stock rom for the international dual sim 32 gb model (EVA-L19)?
The chinese and international models are not identical as i.e. the supported frequencies are different according to FrequencyCheck.com. In the country of use the missing frequencies of the EVA-DL00 are not used, so from this point of view it shouldn't be a limitation. Will there be problems flashing the L19 rom though or is it possible at all?
Thanks,
ag
I just debranded my phone from 64rom/4ram AL10 to L09C432. For now, I know that dual sim works and that my SIM card is detected and works. (Canadian SIM) The phone detects the good storage and ram capacity. It is most likely that it will support the frequencies of the DL00 that it had in your case with the ROM that you will flash because you're not changing the kernel. (BTW SRK Tool debrands to L09 by default, not that it matters... If you really want L19, You will have to manually find an L19 custom.bin and oeminfo)
In fact I had the L19 in mind as this is the most similar hardware to DL00 as international version. Mostly I was worried about the dual sim support, but as you say it works also debranding to L09 this shouldn't be a problem.
I'm confused by the choice of the rom though related to the roms from here. Thought the rom needs to be the one most similar to the hardware (for the china models: L29 rom for AL10 Dual SIM 4GB,64GB / L19 rom for DL00 Dual SIM 3GB,32GB / L09 rom for Al00 Single SIM 3GB,32GB+NFC - and whatever else for TL00 and CL00) and would also need to match the branded version. Is is not like this? Does only the branding need to fit the rom that can be flashed and the rest (specific functions) will be done by the kernel?

It doesn't need to match the original hardware. When you debrand, the new rom just has to match the debrand model id, everything else is done by the kernel.

Hi monoxian,
I use AL10, too. Now I'm going to debrand it for Europe Rom. Does it need to be rooted? I'm on Nougat, so is it possible to debrand?
Besides, does it have dual sim management in L09 ROM?
Thanks
I debranded mine to L09 with SRK ..

Hello !
I was in the same case and I installed B151 rom for VNS-L31 devices from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/stock-firmware-links-t3468245 without any problem !
@immichel01,
Thanks for your support.
Did you check after flashing the new firmware the version of the firmware ?
Was it really VNS-L31C432B151 or was it changed to VNS-L31C900B151 (international version) ? and works both SIM slots ?
Thanks in advance.

Hello !
It was changed to VNS-L31C900B151.
I have only one SIM so I can't tell you if dual SIM works. But all parameters concerning dual SIM are present in this ROM.
I can make some screenshots if you want
Hi Immichel01,
Thanks, not necessary. I think it will work
Why did you change the firmware ?
I want to do this to get faster updates on firmware, but with the international firmware (900) I think I have do do it manually, and will not get an notice if a new firmware is available ?
Ist this true ?
Cheers

Hello !
I changed my firmware in order to have the latest ROM with all the fixes and security updates described in the changelog.
I think I will have to do future updates manually because my phone is rooted. I don't know if C900 firmwares will automatically be updated and if you will get notifications about updates... I know it's possible to change C900 to C432 by flashing a new oeminfo but i didn't do it because I don't know if it's very necessary.
Hi Immichel01,
Ok, Thanks for your answer.
I will try it.
Cheers

Hello dear developers...Recently I bought a used Huawei p9 lite vns-l21c150b106 single sim...It is cosmote branded and I want to debrand it cause I found out by searching that there are several updates such as b150...When I try to update my phone it says that has the latest updates...I wanted to ask if there is a way to debrand it and return to official Europe stock rom without void my warranty...I found a way in the internet through local update via sd card but I don't find the stock rom Europe(I live in Greece)for my single sim vns-l21...I found only vns-l21c432b160 which is for dual sim...I think that vns-l21c150b160 must be for my single device,i suppose that the difference is c150 and c432...any solution please???

Some info what this is? I'm not Snapdragon, but I wouldn't flash anything I don't even know what it is. One sentence would be enough

AOSP 6.0.1 for Honor 4C/P8lite
CHM-CL00? It's China Telecom Version Honor 4C. But most people over there have HiSilicon version phone.
Sent from my HUAWEI CHM-TL00H using XDA Labs
Do you think this would work for a USA P8 lite?
It is ALE-L04 version, with Snapdragon 615....

They have the same CPU's (snap 615), It may work, but not all wifi, bluetooth, charging led,etc chips are the same and the drivers will not work on P8 Lite
And the screen is 5,5 inches, and the buttons are not on-screen, on HW we have 5 inches and on-screen buttons
Remember:
Honor= cheaper part of Huawei- lower cost parts
Huwei="luxury" part of Huawei- more expenisve parts (but if they were more"luxury all huawei devices would have snap to make developing of rom's easier)
You can try, but many drivers will not work and TWRP may give you an error when trying to flash beacause the rom is not made for your device.
EDIT: if you are not living in china the RIL will not work. This rom is made for China Telecom

Thank you for the information.
In this case I will not try it, I thought that this Honor model was the same as P8 Lite but in China.
Regards.
screenshots?
Oh, and for more info
"what rom is this screenshot pls etc etc"
"AOSP 6.0.1 for Honor 4C/P8lite"
That is NOT Aosp 6.0.1. That is Mokee Rom.
And this rom just "says " it is for P8 Lite, when it isn't
chm_cl00 is the model of a honor-- "Huawei Honor 4C CHM-CL00 - Specs - Phone More"
