No sim card error - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to install a new rom after mine was starting to have errors (blisspop 5.1) i tried to install omnirom that was 6.0 when it booted up i had no signal and it said my sim card wasnt inserted when it is. I also flashed chainfires non sys change supersu (said it was needed in omnirom thread i think) and now i cannot figure out how to get it to show that i have a sim card again. I tried factory reset, installing original stock android with nexus toolkit, installing radios... I don't know. In my phone settings it shows unknown baseband im not sure what that means... If anyone could help that would be great. Thank you

I'm assuming you went straight from Blisspop to Omnirom? If that is the case, you didn't upgrade the device's baseband before flashing Omnirom. While the quick and easy path would be to simply flash an Android 6.0.1 baseband using Fastboot commands, it's unknown if any problems will crop up in doing so. Therefore, I recommend flashing the latest stock ROM from Google first. Doing so will ensure that your device is a clean slate, with no residual problems left from other ROMs. From there, you can run through the process of unlocking the bootloader so you can install TWRP and Omnirom.

Okay thank you for the advice. I did not update any baseband so that may be the issue. i will use the toolkit to install 6.0 OTA and then see if i have sim then. Ill get back to you with what happens. Thanks you

I had a similar issue on my first device, had to rma it. Kept saying no sim emergency calls only. Mine was stock 100% just with bootloader unlocked. I use sprint, in settings my esn was all zeros and the imei was still there. Good luck and remember to relock and fresh flash before sending it so they don't claim software did it.
Good luck

I manually flashed the radio.img from 5.0 after flashing stock 5.0 to my phone and now i dont have the no sim no service anymore. Phone is currently "activating cellular service". Hopefully I fixed it.

I have the same error on Android 6.0.1 with my N& which I bought in January. Last night I flashed stock Android over fastboot but it didn't work. Tried my friend's SIM which works fine in his N6 but it wouldn't work in mine. Any ideas? Should I just get a replacement?

I had to. Check your settings and see if the imei and other stuff in there is intact. When mine did it, it had a imei and the esn field was empty. I was on Sprint with it at the time. I'm just curious if it is the same issue

So, what else did you already try ? Flash different version of modem ? Reflash stock ROM via custom recovery ?

yes flashed modem again with cwm rom, booted into recovery tried to flash modem I9305T_DVBLL3.zip.
should I try a different modem ? my phone model is I9305 not I9305T, maybe this is why its not working ??
I have the same situation when went back to 4.3 rom from 4.4 rockyard. Nothing helped. So I restored backup of 4.4... and everything works. I'm currently using this Rom without problems (old rockyard ported from Note).

[Q] VZW xt1060 Lost 4G... returned to stock still can't keep

Hi reverted to stock after trying the 5.1 ROM. Then went cm11 to cm12.1..
Could not keep a 4G signal (VZW LTE), flased OEM carrier nothing, would lose LTE and switch from Verizon to 000000, I finally gave up wiped everything and returned to stock 4.4.4, now I can't keep 4G/LTE there either.
Anyone know what I need to do to correct?
Thanks
I managed to get LTE by going back to 4.4.2.. But going to 4.4.4 stock loses it (via ota) or to CM11 (reported me as T-CDMA64).
I don't have a clue on what to do. Crazy.
On cm11 it does not surprise me it show T-Mobile. You downgraded your firmware from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2? Did you downgrade your boot loader and gpt.bin?

Apparently not as my bootloader still says 30.B7 (4.4.4), I just did return to stock option on motoXtoolkit and used 4.4.2, I read now below that I should not have gone back that far, but flasing to 4.4.4 doesn't appear to give me 4G back.

APN settings are thre for VZW, I tried to make a change but it seems as it wont save.
What ever you do don't take ota from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4! You could brick since you already have 4.4.4 bootloader. You now have miss matched partitions.

It's crazy I'm back on Stock 4.4.4 and I still can't maintain a LTE connections with toggling airplane mode or rebooting.
Have you tried reflashing the radios? Or try these commands? Sounds like a radio issue or config.
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
Or
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
I always flash things manually via fastboot and mfastboot for the system.img. I never use toolkits. This thread will help learn how to do things manually with method 2.

I just tried both of those, seem to have no effect. I boot, get LTE for 5-10 as well as "Verizon Wireless", and then it just drops to 3G.
Any idea on correcting the missmatched partitions mentioned above? I can try to flash again to 4.4.4 manually as you suggested., as well.
Appreciate all the help.

Ready for the weirdest ending to all of this?
I can get perfect 4G on the 5.1 Leak, but xt1060 users could not make voice calls, when I knew and I had previously edited the build.prop to allow it but I could not MMS.
So I went back to 5.1Leak, edited the build.prop and have 4G showing as T-CDMA64 and can make voice calls. MMS was still an issue.. or so I thoght, it didn't work wiht the default messaging app, but when I enabled SMS on Hangouts, it let me create group message and send and recieve no problem. So Odd. I tried to switch back to the regular messenging app, but I could only recieve them not send.
So I can live with using hangougs for now for texting (hangouts has an edit APN button, butnothing came up when I clicked it), until the actual 5.1 comes out for XT1060 (I usually use google messenger.).
Thanks for all the help. It's now Beer thirty on my clock.
Sorry to dig this up after a while, but I'm having very similar issues with my XT1060.
I was having speakerphone issues on the latest CM12.1 so I flashed the 5.1 modem, etc. Immediately started having the 4G LTE dropping issues described here. I've tried re-flashing the modem, rolling all the way back to CM11 (4.4.4), flashing stock 5.1, and changing band settings in the phone testing menu.
Any pointers or advice would be great. Thanks!

Is the new update N910TUVS2EQE2 rootable?

I woke up and my phone had a message saying it was ready to update to N910TUVS2EQE2. Has anybody updated and rooted this fw yet?
I also recieved the update, I won't update for that reason. But the notification is annoying.
It's been forever since I had rooted my phone, finally updated, then had this update and installed it while it was still unrooted. But now I want to root the phone, so no one has tried it yet? Only thing I've noticed with this version is it seemed to have tried to keep a connection via wifi instead of bluetooth to my watch, which lead both of them to have some serious battery drain.
Now that I've set it back to bluetooth, let's see how well it does. The watch (Gear S2 Classic 3G) had to be charged twice in one day, it was terrible.
Unless T-Mobile has suddenly reversed a long-standing policy and locked the bootloader on a previously unlocked device (something I have not ever heard of for any device), you can still flash TWRP recovery from Odin and then flash SuperSU from recovery, which does not modify the system partition. This should just be a minor security update for Marshmallow and not an update to Nougat, which would have much bigger compatibility consequences but which should still be rootable by the above method.
I can confirm it's rootable. I just installed it this weekend, upgrading from 4.4.4 finally. I've got SmoresV1 ROM installed over it, Xposed up and running, all good so far.
Would be great if we could get a nougat release.

Yes, pretty much: I ODIN flashed QE2, did a factory restore from stock recovery (to clear out KK bits), ODINed CQ Auto Root, ODINed TWRP, and then flashed Smores ROM from TWRP. I was exclusively on FireKat ROMs since I got the phone 2.5 years ago, and Smores is by the same developer. Very lightly modded stock version of ROM.

The Gear watch battery drain problem likely isn't related to the phone update.
We've had the same problem with the Gear S3. After weeks of running fine, my S3 would do the same thing. We've been having to hard reset the watch to fix the problem.

Accidentally deleted my Huawei G Play Mini's OS...

Hello everyone, so today I tried installing lineageos on my g play mini, and while I was factory reseting using twrp, it actually deleted my OS, even though I'm fairly sure I didn't check internal memory... Anyway, my phone got completely wiped out, but I can access twrp recovery, and fastboot mode. Is there a way to get back to the stock ROM? I've been trying for hours, but I can't find a solution. There are no custom mods for this phone, even the twrp version I'm using is for the honor 4c. Any help would be appreciated

I also tried extracting the Recovery, Boot and Cust files from the UPDATE.app file, and flashing them, but it doesn't do anything.
When I try to install it via zip file from the original recovery menu, it fails instantly with the message "cust link file fail. please check if vendor/country is valid. Software install failed!"
:crying: I've been trying to solve this for the past three days straight.

I still had the one that came originally with it. Which is Android Kit Kat (4.4) if I'm not mistaken. I never changed it while my phone was alive. I tried flashing the 4.4 rom available in Huawei's official site, as well as a lollipop one, and a 6.0 one. None worked, unfortunately.

I've been trying to find it but how can I know that, now that I have no OS installed? Is there a way?
I'm so pissed, I used those details 5 days ago to unlock bootloader, but I didn't save them anywhere

How did you fixed it??
I'm not 100% sure, but here's what I did:
Downloaded an oeminfo zipped file, and flashed it through twrp. It was supposed to be for my model, but after flashing it successfully, I noticed my phone showed the "honor" logo, instead of the usual huawei one.
So after that, I downloaded the Kit Kat rom for Honor 4c, and extracted the following files from the UPDATE.app: boot, cache, cust, system, recovery.
Flashed them independently, and then I tried to turn on the phone, and it was working again, running Android Kit Kat. After that I've been able to update it to 6.0, EMUI4.0, through dload, local update method
this **** was scary but I pulled it off somehow. I have no knowledge whatsoever, this was pure trial and error for 5 days straight.
I should be able to install LineageOS now, don't you think?

If you had Android version higher than Android 5 and TWRP, you can download stock firmware with firmwarefinder (if it still exist, search in forums for it) and flash it in TWRP like any rom.

Fix for baseband/imei on tmo ocx27

hey guys I was able to get the modem pulled from a moto z2 that has the ocx27.1 update.. if you run this flash all it will reinstall ocx27 with the latest modem allowing you to once again use your phone.
Please note that this will wipe your phone
Also note that your baseband will stay empty untill your phone fully boots up into android

thanks, thank you very much

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed to get my baseband re-installed.
Is SPRINT available? my phone is oreo,OTA loses IMEI after March security update...
Back on update path
Any T-mobile guys figure out how to get updates to install after flashing this, I tried flashing another firmware after this and lost baseband again.
Edit: I ended up flashing the XT1789-04_NASH_TMO_C_8.0.0_OCX27.109-36_subsidy-TMO_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml with the OreoFlashAllUtilities then I edited a FlashAll.bat and used it to flash NASH_TMO_C_OCX27.109-51_subsidy-TMO_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml. rebooted and it started updating to the latest update and made it through 100%.

How did you edited FlashAll.bat?
Is this any different than using the frankin update that combit both sprint and tmobile firmware?
Mine atm show
Android 8.0
Current version: ocxs27.1.3
Security patch level may 1 2018
Kindly send me the flashing procedure for this rom
Not working on me. Still no sim, no wifi, no IMEI.
I'm on tmo variant. Also, don't we need modem.img? Why the flashall.bat don't include it? I checked. Anyway, I edited and include it: still not working.
P.s.should I use a particular flashall ?

@elijahaf97, is it possible to re-upload the file?
Following the G drive link, it tells me it was moved to the trash bin.
Thanks.
