[Q]Framework-res.apk - Galaxy S5 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone. I have this problem: When I change system apps (SystemUI, SecSettungs, LegacyInCallUI and others) on my G800H 5.1.1 Lollipop framework, system works properly. But when I change framework-res, system starts up and goes to reboot. Any ideas?
P.S. Sorry for my English

Can anyone help me please?

Hello, I have a question and I think it can remove it here. When a ROM is installed, whichever it is absolutely supersedes all? That is, it replaces all that can be seen from the TWRP?

ROM installed in September 2015 (when it's realised). Rooted, TWPR 2.8

Hello, I am not referring to when (date) to install the ROM. I meant when installing a ROM, replaced everything that can be seen in the recovery?
I will not give a solution. I'm with a doubt and I think you can help

OK, problem solved. I deodexed my firmware, and now it runs normal with edited framework-res

Just what it says, flash this from custom recovery, and it will deodex your phone, and the font files are included for any theme designers.

If you already have a rom, it's probably deodexed...it enables themes to be used on the phone.

[Q] overclocking and interface editing exhibit T599n?[supernoob]

Hello, I am brand new to rooting. This is the first phone I have rooted. I am trying to improve its performance and and possibly change the boot animation and stuff. I used rom toolbox but it wouldn't change my boot. And all overclocking apps cqn only underclock it. Does anyone know if it cqn be overclocked? And how to change the boot animation? I already improved space using gl to sd, but I haven't found any forums on overclocking qnd and boot animation. Please help this noob. And thank you
You can use Boot Box (look it up on Google Play) to change your boot animation. To overclock your CPU, you're going to need a supported kernel, which isn't available at the moment. Overclocking won't be possible on your device unless someone releases a kernel which supports it.
By the way, you have posted this thread in the wrong forum section.

The device is already rooted, right? Are you still using the stock Samsung ROM?

Yes, the device is rooted, I have supersu enabled. And my device is currently stock rom. However I can't seem to change much. I tried to change the notification background using rom toolbox and that also didn't work. It seems as though my Device uses qmg files

If you are rooted, then install xposed framework & modules. It's the best way to customize. Use the search bar to find them.

Most of the mods are for 4.2 and 4.3. I have 4.1.2. It's still jellybean., but will it work on these mods? I don't to end up with a bricked phone.

Of course not. If it says 4.2, it's for 4.2 (always read the OP carefully) & so on. If you know what you're doing, you won't brick your phone, for sure

I heard about a modded MiRecovery that accepts unofficial ROMs to flash. Any experiences about that one?
going to try it now.
So it works fine but have rename everything to "update.zip" and place on root of storage. It's not got options to wipe cache without doing complete wipe although can be done from new cooking of rom options.
Anyone can help me?
I decompiled existing TWRP for Leo, using Android Kitchen, to change the theme to Material, then I repacked it and I flashed the customized TWRP with Flashify. Anything goes okay, it started into the Materialized TWRP but when I tap on "Theme" the Mi Note Pro reboot to System.
Is there anyone who can create or help me to create a TWRP with Materialized theme already applied?
I have another question: I know it's possible to apply a theme by creating "TWRP/theme" folder that contains the theme, but what if I delete that folder? Is there anyway to apply the theme directly into Recovery partition?
Thank you, I wish you can help me.

I've never tried that as I don't use Flashify but I guess so. Anything that works for some other image should also work with this image.

It works fine for me, except the following two issues mentioned in the original post:
Aqq123 said:
Sometimes the screen might be difficult to unlock because the swipes need to be very precise for them to register. I recommend to disable the screen timeout in the TWRP settings once in the recovery mode.
Wiping all partitions by formatting them appears to be introducing some problem, probably due to fstab discrepancies. Consider changing the relevant setting to use rm -rf for wiping if you plan to use this function.

Note that my bootloader has never been locked, so I have no idea how this would work with the recent changes by Xiaomi. If anyone uses it with the new, originally locked bootloader that was unlocked after an application to Xiaomi, please confirm that it works.

I would not advise doing that. As the file is from 5.1.1 there is no telling what changes to the system that has been done.

You are correct. I should have been more specific. Post #95 includes file download from CM13 (Android 6.0). Working fine for me on MMB29V.

Even then that is for that build. It may cause other issues on different builds.

I agree. It could. But isn't that what we all do here about that? Modifications that are not necessarily 100% bullet proof? And looking for feedback from others who are using it..?

It seems to me that you already know the answer. You are familiar with the terms TWRP and root.
Beside the question you need to give a motive.
