Nexus 6 Outside USA CDMA Network Issues - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having issues setting up my nexus 6 properly on a cdma carrier outside the US.
When android 5.1.1 is running on it, I can only do calls and text, However when i install android 6.0.1 it only have LTE data and no voice or text.
What could be causing this issue? If so, How can it be resolved?
Thank you.

Try this and see what signals your getting. LTEDiscovery in the playstore
Gotta put more pertinent info to do any help for you though

lte is only a data connection. your provider must have Volte. volte is Voice Over LTE. thats the only way to get voice on lte.

Ok, so there is no way to get it running otherwise until they setup volte on their system?

right.
but considering they have lte going, most likely they would have volte as well. some US providers, like verizon, have lte and volte, but you have to enable it in the providers settings. id call your provider to find out.

Great, they had mentioned an upgrade in about 2 months, but they didn't elaborate what it would be, only said until then it would work.
Thank you.

Read part about moto x. Is this right??? If so, are we getting ripped off?
Band 12 won't be an issue for 99% of the country for years.

Thanks - what is the support for HD voice or VoLTE?
It's not clear which model Motorola will ship as the 'Pure Edition', but either way they are locking it down and limiting it to lte 2/4/17, which is not the full spectrum of at&t, t-mobile bands and it lacks international bands. There are two possible radio configurations http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/help/pure-edition-fcc-id-t2884649

HD Voice = On T-Mo branded devices, it says HD when in a call. If you call someone else on T-Mo with a modern device, you should have a noticeably clearer conversation. HD voice is phenomenal. Voices are richer, etc.
VoLTE = Only will know if in an area with that coverage. If you get on a voice call and still have LTE, you are on VoLTE. Can Google your location to see if it is there. You could also check phone settings, see if there is an option for it.

Would the fact I use Google Voice effect his?
I have a call for work later today I'll pay attention to if it keeps LTE or not. Where in settings would It be? I see nothing.
Just called my house, it goes to just 4G(HSPA+).

Google Voice is interesting question. It is only further complicated by the new hangouts dialer which definitely woudlnt be HD. On my S5, I go to phone -> settings -> call -> VoLTE

Well, T-mo owns the Band 12 frequencies in the majority of the county I live in. It isn't active yet, but if I am buying a 2-year device, it had better support Band 12.
Seems like the XT1092 is the Sprint version that had all the Sprint & T-mobile LTE bands in preparation for a T-mobile/Sprint merger. Whether and where it shows up in the wild is anybody's guess.
Minneapolis
Does anyone know if T-Mo is currently using band 12 in MN?

Doesn't that say they own spectrum? It gives no indication of whether or not it is in use, unless I missed it.

The nexus 6 is capable. Its your carrier that implements VoLTE. Its rolling out in certain areas, but will take some time for everyone to get it.

for verizon it might be an issue, since there would be no data and phone calls. but on att(and tmobile) that wouldnt make any issues as when you receive phone calls, you signal gets changed to hspa/hspa+(no voice calls over lte) asnd you still get data flowing while on a phone call.

Which international version is best for tmobile?

I was thinking about getting an international phone but there are a few versions N930F/FD/S/L/K . Which would be most compatible. As I understand it, the downside is missing some of the bands for data. 3g is the problem I think. Can anyone confirm this or input any additional issues.

N930F/FD will definitely work on T-Mobile...
I think WiFi Calling and VoLTE won't work and you might miss a band or two but it will work just fine.

will you be able to keep the speed at 4g?
Isn't WiFi Calling a built-in feature of Android 6, now? I use it on my Nexus 6P and it has no T Mobile software at all.

I believe 4g is ok. The some bands for 3g have reduced speeds.
N930F has all Tmo bands. WIfi calling and VOLTE will not work with stock rom, but will if/when custom roms come out.
Did anyone go this route? I see couple for sell on ebay.

I dont' really care for wifi calling as I can forward my calls to Google Hangout/Voice.
can you clarify the need for VOLTE?
How to activate google hangout/voice I never used that feature since I have a note 3 and voice and data simultaneously is always been available thanks

Very odd as both worked in the S7 FD version I had for a bit. The requirement isn't bands but that the TMO sim has to be in sim1 not sim2. If it's in sim1 then both work. Also, VoLTE is hidden and always on if supported.

Verizon APN settings to get 4G LTE

Hi All,
I have Verizon as my carrier, I desperately want to get 4G LTE working on my device, how can I work my APN settings to achieve this or do I simply need to call Verizon to tell them I have a OnePlus 3T now?
Please advise,
thanks all! in advance!

I have achieved 3G thus far, I've heard folks can get full 4G LTE, Maybe it's as simple as calling Verizon Tech support and they can assist me somehow. Was hoping I'd get some real help here on good 'ol reliable XDA first and foremost.
This phone isnt compatible with Verizon's 4G LTE. it does not possess the necessary band to achieve this.
You can set the phone to LTE only and get 4g data but no calls or text. Or you can go the regular way and have 3g data calls and text. Sadly not both

Thanks! Any chance you can walk me through HOW to get 4G LTE? Whenever I play with the APN settings for 4G LTE,it would never take, it would always default to the regular 3G data settings period, ugh!

this seems to work to keep my oneplus 5 on verizon (red pocket) LTE network.. you could theortically get a verizon data plan for one sim then teh voice plan for the other sim slot and you should be golden

Use on Verizon?

I have wanted to get the ROG since the 2 came out. I'm on Verizon and don't plan on changing anytime soon.
Can the 3 work on the Verizon network? If it does, will it be limited in any way (service area, speed, bands, and so forth)? What has to be done to make it work?
Thank You for your help!

according to this:

it should work only on 4G network only on Verizon network, no 5G or 3G which might be an issue for you .

Data only on 4g.
Has anyone been able to to try it?
I was hoping someone could say there experience with using it on Verizon's network?
It seems this reviewer tried it on Verizon: pcmag com /product-guides/137219/asus-rog-phone-3
We asked in the comments and I emailed him personally but he did not respond.
I think it working on 4g is a good bet. You would just have to root to be able to enable VoLTE and Wifi calling. Like they did for the ROG phone 2.

Could you also please give your reason, knowledge, or sources for the statement? Thank you in advance.
