[REVIEW] EasyAcc "Monster" 20,000 mAh Power Bank - Moto G 2015 Accessories

I was approached by the manufacturer about doing a review of this product. Being that I always am wanting to try new things, I agreed !
First thing's first - here's a link to the product on the EasyAcc site, and then the link to it on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/EasyAcc-20000mAh-Dual-Input-External-Portable/dp/B01422TC14
And one more link - has some great info on what these USB charges or "Power Bank" products are.
http://www.easyacc.com/media-center/what-is-power-bank/
Here's my no nonsense layman's review!
I've always wanted to get my hands on a decent USB charger to carry around in my roller-briefcase. In my job role I have to travel the entire length of the county to cover all technical needs to 4 different school district sites. With all that travel, I don't always get to plug in for long at a site, and in the car I am pretty limited to 2 USB ports, so, this one helps out A LOT!
First of all - 20,000 mAh of charge to be shared to your devices. My Moto G 2015 has a 2470 mAh battery. Coming from being FULLY DRAINED, that's 8+ *FULL* charges of your Moto G if that's the only thing you're using it to charge. But the nice thing is, this device has FOUR USB ports, so you can charge your phone, tablet, ipad and e-cigarette all at the same time if it came down to it! There are 4 LED indicators on it showing how much charge it has left - 4 lit up means 100%, 3 means 75%, 2 means 50% and 1 means 25% . Also, it will adapt to the device's max charging speed.
The power bank is also small enough that it could fit in the cargo pocket of your pants. Plug in your phone to it, turn on your bluetooth headset and talk until you're blue in the face - you won't be running out of battery anytime soon!
I live in Florida so hurricanes are a yearly annoyance. With the high probability of one knocking out power if it hits, you can still charge or power your technology from this power bank for several days without worrying about running out of juice. Speaking of power outages - this power bank has a great accessory built into it - a flashlight (a damned bright one at that!)
To be 100% honest, I haven't been able to kill this thing - I have yet to drain it down below 25% after having done a LOT of charges for my phone and Galaxy Tab 4.
I look forward to being able to incorporate this device into my daily life - it's made a real difference so far - now only if it were waterproof so I could take it out on my kayak when I fish!

Looks like bargain for a 20000mAh Power Bank. I went with the JUNOJUMPER (which has only 25% of the mAh as the EasyAcc) a few years back. Still working just fine. And yes, it really can start the engine of a small car..

[Q] Wind up/Dynamo charger

Does anyone know a wind up/dynamo charger that works for HD2?
I found quite a few such chargers on ebay, but without any output voltage/current specifications.
Thanks!
Do you have any link ?
What about charging time, turning the dynamo....all night long for a two minutes call ;-)
Outpout should be 5 V / 1000 mAh
Input is muscles !

The 1st one has 5.5V and 600mAh, while the others don't have specs.
wish ebay got some tiny urls...meh i think they would do for emergency...nothing else. manage to get 1 or 2% after 5 mins of hand work
Not for the HD2 but i bought one for my diamond. I found it actually discharged the battery! Winding the handle the diamond displayed that it was charging and i could feel the rotational load increase as the phone started drawing current. However after 5 mins of winding my phone was 1-2% less than before 'charging'!

The same result! I was miffed. I thought that maybe the charging circuitry takes some of the power to operate and that the charger wasn't even providing enough for this, therefore it was drawing the rest of the battery and in turn depleting rather than charging the battery. I'm not sure why this was just my guess (and i'm an electrician )
well guess that answers op's thread
i remember when i was in school for a construction project my class mate was making a wind electricity fan from wood with a dynamo stuck on the tri wing when we tested how much power it produced when spinning it as hard as we could it was producing - power couldn't even light a bulb to show its working haha
guess the same **** here...just probably not going fast enough to power it properly or u want to be superman

Well, I thought about getting a solar charger, but I want something that will charge my cell anytime and not only during daytime or sunshine.
Although, if I don't find a wind up charger, I might end up getting a solar.
So, which one do you suggest? Have you tried it?
there are some solar chargers that can keep the charge in its battery, so even u don't have sun, u can charge it later.
i tend to buy this:

I found this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Solar-USB-AC-Po...454747?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5d10559b
which is quite cheaper ($6.14) and has the proper specs (5.5V, 1000mAh) for HD2.
I bought a spare battery & USB charger (Ebay; never had any regrets), as I do with all my earlier smartphones. USB cab be from car, computer, photovoltaic panel or mains unit.

Thanks for the info, but the price is quite high...
Another useless gadget
Well, slightly offtopic, but the thread was the closest I could find to post the following.
Recently i bought a wind-charger while on vacation in Paris (a charger that uses wind power while you bike for example to charge itself and then you can charge different devices with it).
And here is my negative review for it:
Well, i was very excited to buy this gadget (costed me 30 EUR). I bike a lot and this was also meant to be used for outdoor hiking activities.
But..
First of all the lack of any type of power meter renders the device unreliable to the point of uselessness. You take the charger outdoors (with a 1200 mAh battery inside) and you have no idea how much of the battery is filled(unless you pre-charge it from mains). But then, if i needed just an external battery, there are definitely better and smaller choices.
Second: You cannot pre-charge the charger from mains and charge the phone simultaneously, nor you can charge your device "on the go"-directly from wind..
Third: You cannot turn on the quite weak led lights in front of the device and charge it simultaneously (so, for example if you bike in the evenings when it is late, you have to chose, either you use it's light for safety, or you charge the device. Ridiculous)
Forth: in the description on Uniross site it is said "Can also be charged through a computer or through wall plug". Well, it can be only charged using supplied wall plug, no wire for computer charging..
Fifth: When fully charged from mains it will charge my discharged HD2 only to 60%, which means that it is less then 60% effective in transferring the charge. Also make sure your device will agree on some 500 mA of charging current (most of them will probably)
Sixth: It does need quite strong wind to charge, it starts to charge when your speed (in no wind condition) gets around 15 km/h. People say it needs some 15 km of ride to be fully charged. How they managed to estimate that the charger is fully charged - i have no idea.
Seventh: The charging indicator (which tells you that the speed is enough for charging), is placed right in front of the charger, so to check whether it charges you have to dangerously lean forward or ask the approaching bikers if they see a green LED light- truly stupid design flaw.
Eighth (the most annoying and stupid): YOU HAVE TO CHARGE IT FROM MAINS FOR SOME 20% BEFORE YOU CAN START CHARGING IT FROM WIND!! Can you imagine how dumb this condition is.. first - there is no way to know how long should i charge it from mains to get the necessary minimum 20%. Then, when i am outdoor and lets say charging the phone - if i use all the juice - the charger will become useless, as there won't be a possibility for another startup charging. Then I have to charge till it is decreased to 20% and use the wind to charge it back. HA! there is now way to know that it is on 20%,10% or 30%... how dumb the design and functioning can be... This is truly a raw device they let out on market. Shame for Uniross.
(i will stop here because it is too late...)
I wish i would have read a review like this before i went and got this piece of ... something... Hope it helps someone else.

Defy+ external battery/power bank/portable charger

this has been real hell finding information about whether this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Powerocks-p...y_Chargers&hash=item3cc55ca8b0#ht_4645wt_1163 is compatible with my Motorola defy+ (note custom roms, Switching from time to time, Currently on WIUI ICS) and other information such as how long does it last and etc.
has anybody used this?
is it worth the money and how does it translate to battery % on my defy+.
any other feedback?
and maybe other recommendations (with that price region)
and is there a thing like this that uses AA batteries, if so, how many will it take to charge my Defy+
thanks ahead
EDIT:
what's the proper name for that thingy? because this thing has wayyyy too many names,
power bank, external battery, portable charger, portable battery, extra battery. and many many many more!!! this is why it's complete hell finding information.
what's the real and most proper name for it?
Just a single word 'AVOID'
i don't usually like to be disrespectful, but.
you sir, have convinced me with your long list of arguments and good points of reason to support your advice.
could you please explain, why?
Ok. Here it goes.
I have used these chargers long back, I think around a year back. It barely charges 15% of your mobile battery (I was using a Samsung Galaxy Apollo at that time which had a 1500mah battery) with a single AA cell which I think is totally not worth.
I hope this is enough for you to get a fair idea
so, you're saying that the Portable chargers that use AA batteries are bad, or are you saying all these portable chargers are bad and charge too little?
if you're saying that all the portable chargers are bad and charge too little, then i would have to say that it depends on how much mAh the charger can hold.
say i get the 2600 mAh charger to charge my Defy+ (think around 1700 mAh) when it's completely out, i think that i will charge fully at least once (say around 1000 mAh at MOST! is lost because of the charging procedure)
i'm only talking about the AA battery based chargers. I don't have any idea about other powerpacks as I've never used it.
1 AA battery for 225 mAh!?!?!?!? that's awesome!!! would be great for camping trips, you get like 12 AA batteries (or more, depends on how long you plan to be away from charging your phone normally) and you can even play in the evening or even watch porn if you got Data signal!
i'm still probably going for the normal one, and maybe i'll get an extra charger that uses AA batteries in-case i go camping somewhere.
can people please give feedback on whether it's good enough? why are there only 2 posters?
I think that it works just seen a duracell one in a store near me wich holds 4 AA batts, i think on buying it and fillit with some 4 NiMh AA acumulators rated at 2700 mAh each, just think about it thats 10800 mAh in a portable charge, that will charge my Defy battery at least 5 times even with an extra burning that the charge does.

isn't there a case of voltage involved? (idk, i'm a complete noob in this)
and i need something smaller, something as small as the charger i posted.
i'm just curios to know if it works or not and any other feedback about it.

NiMHs are 1,2V which means, 2700mAh hold 2700mAh * 1,2V= 3,24 Wh which is the same as 11,664 kJ
The Defy battery holds 1500mah at 3,7V --> 5,5 Wh = 19,98 kJ
Taking efficiency in count you might be able to load your Defy with two fully charged NiMHs once, but i`d rather expect that two are not enough.
As for the that eBay-offer: The voltage is given as 5,1V. With 2600mAh that would mean 13,2 Wh. But i rather believe they are stating the capacity at 3,7V for marketing reasons. That would mean 9,62 Wh. That would allow you to recharge about one and a half time.
bump?
So someones after advice on portable power when away from the mains?
Ive been using a New trent imp1000 to keep things going, its a li-ion rechargable powerpack with a capacity of 11000mah and it keeps my Defy going for 4 days.
I also have a total of three batterys for my defy, and a universal li-ion external charger, called a cam caddy, although its designed to charge camera batterys from a 5 volt supply it also quite happily charges up the battery for my defy as well.
So for extreme use i can have a battery in use in my phon, plus a spare with me, and back at base ( or just overnight) a battery on charge in the cam caddy.
If im in an area with access to mains i will take the imp1000 and its charger to top up where and when i can.
I also have a universal USB charger with swapable plugs that fit all major power outlets worldwide.
And to top it all off a USB AA battery charger that will ( slowly) charge up 4 AA batterys form a solar panel, or from a USB input ( faster) , or output 5V through the USB out put port.
This little set up has kept me going for 14 days with no access to mains power ( except for a few bits here and there - 20 minutes at a bus station/railway station and so on) , keeping my phone going (defy) a high powered AA cree LED torch, a camera ( via spare battery+cam caaddy) and an mp3 player. the trick is careful battery management - on the defy turn off everything when not in use, except the ability to receive calls and number your batterys for ID, and the same for cameras etc etc.

i think 11000 mAh is a little too much for me, it may be good for camping trips and etc, but i don't think i'm gonna buy something that (probably) big and (probably) expensive. most of the use of the external charger will be when i'm out with friends for a long time, or say after school i spontaneously decide to go out with friends before getting home (unfortunately a 1 hour drive from friends city to mine) so i need an a portable charger so i won't get bored on the way back, my battery lasts a school day, if i go somewhere that is not home after school, it won't last.
about the extra batteries, are those original from motorola? if not, are they as good as the original? are they worth getting?
The batterys are official motorla ones, as i b ought a cheap un official one and that had issues ( wouldnt show the charge level on the defy )
The battery pack is a "new trent imp1000" which costs £30 from amazon.
I also have a dock for the defy in which my phone usualy sits, at the back of this dock is a slot for an extra battery, left overnight this will charge both my Defy ( with battery inside) and the extra battery in the slot, this is plugged into a dektop pc where some of the USB sockets are still powered up ( giving out 5v) even when the desktpop p.c is off
supdealer offers nice portable power bank
as portable external battery/power bank/portable charger, An ebay seller called supdealer sells a nice one. You can have a look.
It may help you.
I have that new Trent battery, its perfect almost same size as defy.

Guys,
If you really want true power on the go, buy a YOOBAO power pack, the 11200 mAh one.
It is really a beast and is really charging a defy several times before going empty.

Yes, all iPhone compatible USB-Chargers are compatible to our Defy and other new mobiles.
Why? EN_62684: Common External Power Supply (EPS)
Why would I use Li-ion instead of AA Cells (NiCd,NiMH or NiZn)?
Higher Energy Density!
Another benefit of Li-ion is the discharging charakteristika (sorry for german captions).

RAVPower External Battery Bank- Great Price!

First off, I do not have any affiliation with any vendors - whatsoever!
Here's an awesome deal on a highly-rated, 10,000mah battery bank for $29.99/free shipping!
Read about it here
Then go here for info on how to get the deal.
If you want more reviews, go here for reviews on the previous model (essentially the same thing).
I've known about this for a couple of days now, but I just grabbed one, and wanted to share with my fellow forumites.
Hope this helps someone else looking for a battery bank!
I have actually been looking for something like this.. but the price I see is $59.99. Is there a special code I have to use to get the discount and free shipping?
EDIT: oops I didn't read all the way
Yes - you have to go look at the SlickDeals link in my OP.
My smaller power battery bank has been a life-saver so many times in the past six months of ownership. I look forward to getting this one.

However, the RavPower website states that the pb07 is indeed 10000mAh:

Yeah - the Amazon write-up is inaccurate in a number of places - it seems that info from prior models is carried forward. This model uses four Samsung cells that provide 2600mah each.
I'd go with the mfg'ers website and what actual customers say about the battery pack's capacity.
Not that this will make a difference for anyone else but I emailed the seller and they told me this product is not UL certified. Big bummer for me because I'm in the Navy and they require every device that we plug in aboard a ship to be UL certified. This would have been super handy for a deployment as electrical outlets are scarce on the boat. My search continues..

If you are on the fence, there are some new additions to the product reviews at Amazon here.
The deal lasts through the end of the year. I did notice that they sell out fast when the discount window starts at 8PM est.
Off to get it charged up...

will you provide us with some pics of it next to the nexus 7 by chance (size comparison)?
wavrunrx,
Dude, I would love to, but unlike everyone on this forum right now, I don't yet own an N7. It's at the top of my xMas list and by most accounts I've "been good". So here's hope'in.
The height/width is about the size of a pack of cigs, and it's about 3/4" thick. Rounded edges, hefty, a beautiful piano-black finish, really nice design and comes with a charger, two usb/mini usb cables, and a black velvet storage bag.
If it were white and had an Apple logo on it, it would be $175, easy.
Still don't have an N7 (c'mon Santa! c'mon Santa!, I've been "nice" the whole f**ck'in year!!)...
... but I can report back that this battery pack is awesome. It takes a while to charge-up, but that's expected given it's capacity. I repeatedly put my Galaxy Nexus on it yesterday and it charges super fast and doesn't even break a sweat. Plus I could be charging another phone (or tablet) on the other charging port. Given what I've seen yesterday, this could be my sole energy source for my GNex for the better part of a week without ever being tethered to a wall.
Bookmark: Thanks for Sharing. May look into getting one before the deal expires.

Very nice price indeed, thanks for the quick info. Just curious, how long does it take your unit to charge up?
I got one of these during this deal and I love it. The powerbank was nicely packaged and came with some extra tips for other cellphone models. Even came with an ac plug too which impressed me the most. I love getting products with added accessories that I didn't think would come with. As for the unit, it's compact and stylish and nicely designed. Very portable and lighter and smaller than I anticipated for a 10,000mah charging unit. It's literally small enough to hold in my pocket, but not both my phone and this together. If you carry a pack with you, this would be perfect.
I don't dare to crack open my unit but I read on an Amazon review that the four batteries used is Samsung 18650 power cells which can charge up to 500 or more times. There is also a lit up gauge that lights up to how much power is left in the powerbank. I used this on a short trip last weekend and maybe used this twice and it worked wonderfully. I can see myself using this during future camping trips, outdoor outings and even during emergencies. I love it and I can't stress this enough on having something like this since my phone tends to run out of battery fast during trips since I use my phone a lot during these times. Highly recommend everyone have something like this around.
i just got my unit in the mail today.
comes in a very nice box, well designed, comes with 2 micro usb cables, wall plug, and a felt pull-string bag. the unit itself is quite impressive. has a nice weight to it, and just feels solid. im still charging mine up, but sofar, (and especially for $30) i am *very* impressed.

Awesome. I just orders mine today. I live in Hawaii. How long did it take to get yours in the mail? Also can you do a review on how it charges the nexus 7? How long does it take? Can it fully charge the nexus? Can you use the nexus at the same time while it's charging? Etc. Etc. Thanks

right off the bat i can answer these:
"How long did it take to get yours in the mail?"
i live about 2 miles from where it shipped from, and if it wasnt for xmas eve/xmas day, i would have gotten my unit 2 days sooner. shipping would have been overnight, if not for xmas.
"Can you use the nexus at the same time while it's charging?"
unfortunately no. :crying:
when you are charging the unit itself, it shuts down the 2 remaining usb charge ports, until you unplug it from the wall.
**edit
now that i re-read what you asked; yes, you can use your phone/tablet while it is charging from the RAVPower.
the RAVPower just cannot be plugged into the wall at the same time.

whew! At first I was about to cancel my purchase because I thought you couldn't use the nexus while charging from the RAV. That would have been unacceptable. As far as not being able to use the RAV when the unit itself is charging I don't really mind. Thanks for the quick replies, I'm eager to get mine. Update us on your experience when you got a chance to test it fully charged if it's not too much of a bother

Vinsic Tulip 6000 mah power bank - Review.

So I’ve had the chance to get my hands on the Vinsic power bank, I must say it looks great.
The device itself is portable and really small, getting the silver color for such a low price was amazing, I’m using it on my Galaxy S6 Edge and it works wonders. I didn’t expect it to be such a good device, it gives it that continuous boost that everybody is looking for today.
I know everybody is probably wondering does it charge fast enough and how heavy and what not it is, I must say it is nearly maybe like a few minutes slower than the standard charger that comes with the phone which means it continues to use the turbo charge feature and works well.
The device itself is very light doesn’t even seem like it’s there, I don’t usually use power banks because I have high amped chargers everywhere including my house and car. So this was a surprise purchase to just see how everything works. Now I usually just use this and don’t plug my phone into my car.
It was a good purchase, I think you guys would enjoy it as well check them out at this link if you want if not then I guess have a good day.

How many charge of my Samsung S4 battery it will last?

[Review] Tronsmart Presto 12000mAh USB Type-C/QC 3.0 Power Bank - Best yet!

Seeing as though power banks are a dime a dozen and there are a billion knock off brands out there, I tend to only trust a few brands that have proved their worth. Here is my review of the newest offering from Tronsmart. I am on the trade in your Samsung every year plan, so this will definitely be useful for any of the upcoming Samsung flagships. It the best of past, present, and future.
Look/Feel
First impressions were very good. The Power Bank was packed well, in the typical Tronsmart purple/white packaging and came with a good quality USB-C to USB A cable for charging the bank itself. The bank itself has a good sturdy feel and seems to be made well and out of quality materials. The matte and glossy black make it look very high end. There are white leds to indicate the remaining power level in the bank. The power button has a nice tactile feel.
Performance
The Volt IQ did a good job of recognizing the my phone and applying an appropriate amount of power. It recognized the various devices I plugged in and adjusted the voltage and amps accordingly (Bluetooth speakers, headphones, droid mini, tablets, etc).
The Power bank charged my S7 Edge with typical QC 2.0 voltage and amps (it supports Quick Charge 3.0, but my phone doesn't).
- The highest I saw was 9V @ 1.62 A.
Overall impressions are excellent, I would buy this product again. It is well made, did not get hot, performs great and looks nice. The 12000mah is plenty to charge my phone 3 times from empty to full, or my kiddos tablets 3 times. It is a reasonable size and weight compared to others I have purchased. I have no desire to carry a brick sized power bang with me.This one is ideal for travel, camping, beach trips, or just heavy phone use days. I do wish it came with a USB-C to Micro usb as micro is still the norm and will need a few years to fade out. I'll be ordering one so I can utilize both ports at once.

The S7 Edge has a 3,600 battery
3600*3.5 = 12,600...
Besides power banks never give you the exact capacity it tells just like the usb drives for example.
Seems to me just as if you're just promoting tronsmart.

Great use of the calculator. It was just an estimate. Besides, I rarely kill my phone to empty, so this would definitely give me 3 nightly charges.
I'll humor you and change the op.
I do reviews on tronsmart products because they fail to let me down. Some I have purchased and some were sent to me for review. I also do reviews on all the other cases and gadgets I purchase.
