Galaxy S7 Edge Screen Protector Reference Thread - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

I wanted to create a thread to post the all of the S7 Edge screen protectors that I was able to find on amazon. Most of these are poorly reviewed, but I want to work to maintain this thread so that when we do come across a verified good protector, it’ll be on the top of the post. The other threads have all of the products spread throughout the thread, but I wanted to have an easy, one stop thread for us all to use for reference. If you find information about a screen protector, please leave a reply to the thread, and I’ll add it to the post as we go along here.

Confirmed "Curved" Glass Screen Protector Thread ***Updated 7/20/15***

Preface
Hey guys, just wanted to start this thread so we can begin a list of ONLY companies that produce glass screen protectors that are confirmed to be truly curved and edge-to-edge like the device itself.
Curving glass is a very difficult and costly thing to manufacture so this will definitely be in very limited supply and higher priced than even some of the most expensive regular glass screen protectors. Companies that make these certainly deserve the credit for the manufacturing process as even Samsung themselves claimed to have difficulties on the same and rumors of low yields.
For anyone that doubts the possibility of this design, iLoome is currently experimenting with curved glass for the Note Edge and even figured out the correct curve radius for it already. See link to photo and video below.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=726602350787859
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=737571406357620
With that said, do note that not all glass screen protectors will be of the same level of quality so YMMV, but at this at least gives us a good starting point for folks that find coverage like this to be unacceptable for going caseless.
Please share your submissions and I will place confirmed ones on the OP for people that are looking to find options without having to sift through tons of unconfirmed products.
Let's begin!

How to tell which Generation glass you have
Generation 1
Fully clear model only
Standard silicone adhesive like all non-curved glass screen protectors
May see bubbling due to air gaps like standard glass screen protectors
Very few people were able to get their hands on these (mostly from China direct or some resellers on Chinese sale sites
This version was considered unacceptable for mass production and most factories gave up on it
Generation 2
The current model as of today's date
Comes with a semi-transparent clear model with visible glue or colored glittery borders to cover it up
A new adhesive called Corning Imported Glue is used
Does not show bubbling under the screen no matter how poorly applied it is
This version is currently available for sale in many places (as shown per OP)
May have poor/weak adhesive issues that result in loss of touch-sensitivity in those affected areas (rating 5/10)
Generation 3
This is the newest model as of today's date, barely available outside China
Comes with borders using the same material coloring that the original devices are (example. the black variant is blue or black depending on the lighting)
A fully clear model is supposedly also arriving (unconfirmed)
Corning Imported Glue is used as adhesive (same as Generation 2)
Does not show bubbling under the screen no matter how poorly applied it is
Touch-sensitivity only very slightly improved over the previous generation but still imperfect (rating 7/10)

I am currently following up with the company on the process they use to manufacture these as I am very curious to see how they can afford it.
TemperedArmor have confirmed they have no plans for the Galaxy S6 Edge unfortunately due to their expectation of low demand and high cost.

Not sure how much I trust Amzer.. If you look around for reviews on their tempered glass solutions (iPhone 6, etc.) they are not exactly what I would call stellar..
$40. Daaaaaaaayum.
So I ordered the Amzer, will report back once I get it

Please do. I was just about to order it, but then I thought....if all the major players aren't even offering it, how is it that a company I've never heard of before beat them to it?
They claim:
Premium Tempered Glass with silicone coating, prevents the glass from splintering into sharp edges.
Edge2Edge, an Amzer® exclusive, prevents chipped or fractured sides.
Don't get me wrong, I'm ALL FOR IT! I really hope this is true! That registered trade mark is pretty promising......we'll have to see...
It sounds like Amzer is using some kind of hybrid glass type material that is very close to glass, but not quite 100% glass although they claim it's tempered glass. Hmmm...I'm really curious now... TM store had this screen protector that was not quite glass, but darn near it for the Note 4 and I'm thinking maybe this is of a similar material? Hence, Edge2Edge cover....
Looking forward to hearing back! Thanks for doing that....
https://youtu.be/anLiRabgecc tech21 made a poly carb like screen protector for the S4. I tried it before the tempered glass screen protectors. If this turns out to be similar to it, I'm ok with that at the end of the day I just want my screen protected edge to edge.

On March 26th I ordered this: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U0U48CG/ref=shptrk_scth BOMEA brand for $9 I figured for the price even if it was BS it would be worth it to investigate.
In the product description is says it won't be released until April 17th but yesterday I got a notice from Amazon that it had shipped. So I should see something this week. I pre-ordered the AT&T Gold/Platinum so I won't be getting my phone to try it on for another 3+ weeks though but I can post some pics of it once it arrives if anyone is interested.

It arrived this afternoon. It is not a wrap around. It only covers the front panel and even then not very well. I am going to try and return it. Another issue is because the item is listed as "Not Released" because they have set a date of April 17th as the release no one can leave feedback/review for this product which indicates to me that the seller knows they are intentionally misleading buyers and are hoping to sell as many as possible. Avoid this seller.

So I happen to have found a very interesting impact resistant alternative to glass screen protectors for full coverage on curved screens (this one designed for Galaxy S6 Edge).
Let me know what you guys think if I should include it in the OP or not since it's not actually glass but at the same time it does have full coverage and promise the same hardness level from scratches as it as well as impact resistance.

Sidenote: I have preordered this one and the one from the OP as well so I will certainly let you guys know what they're like.

Very good find there! I would add it to the OP...it claims to be 9H so if that holds to be true then it'd be on par with the tempered glass protectors.
I'm going to order this one too...I like how it looks and the cut outs are tolerable. Plus it's only 0.2mm thick!
I just wish the top was a true H (covering the camera as it doesn't effect it at all) and the bottom a wrap around the HOME button....
Nevertheless, I think there will be a lot of edge to edge glass-like protectors like this one in the coming weeks.....
Thanks again....:highfive:

There's something odd looking about that cellbee protector. Its very angular, almost like an old moto atrix (edit: meant photon).

Yea the picture is a very strange adaptation of the edge, but I bought it anyway off amazon. I'm willing to gamble $10 if it turns out to be comparable to glass. They don't say the material but I am hoping its a hard polycarbonate that would give a similar feel to a glass one while also being much easier to make for the curved screen. I'm gonna wait for reviews on the Amzer one before I pull the trigger since $40 is much steeper of a price.
Looking forward to your findings, if its good quality I'll pick one up as well.

Is there ANY tempered glass screen protector that's great with Note 5??

Ok, I've looked through forums, threads here and there, Amazon, manufacturer sites, web searches... and my takeaway is that glass protectors for the Note 5 are a problem... in particular the protectors don't fully cover the screen (just the flatter part) and there are halo effects. The non-curvature issue can also cause dust to accumulate, apparently, by getting into the edges.
Is there, in fact, ANY really great tempered glass screen protector that does the job?? One that fully fits the curves along of the Note 5's screen, has non-sharp edges, and isn't a headache to install or otherwise deal with? I see the same type complaints whether the glass protector is inexpensive or at the high-price end.
I have a new Note 5 arriving next week, and I'd love to know which are the top choices. Or, because of the curved screen, front side, is this just a holy grail search never to be reached?
My guess is that once manufacturer's continue to get feedback they will fix the issue, but it will take time and feedback from consumers. The device is fairly new so I would say in about another month or so the issues Should, or so I would hope, be ironed out. If you cannot wait, I would suggest getting a case with a built in screen protector. Give Artech21 a jingle, they have a case with a built in screen protector, and I believe they are still looking for testers for their cases. I am going to be receiving mine whenever they ship. At the moment it seems like September 30th, at least according to Amazon, but I hope to get one sooner than later.
Either way, a decent case and being careful will go far to help deal with your screen until, either manufacturers fix the issues, or you can get a case with a built in screen protector.
I bought the tempered glass screen protector at the T-Mobile store. Forget the brand, but came in a big green box, with a roller and bed like thing to put the phone in, and apply it dummy proof easy. It is on clear and zero bubbles, and can barely even see the protector whatsoever.
Skinomi.com is where I purchased mine. Absolutely perfect for my Tab S so I made the purchase for the Note. Also perfect in every way! I paid around 7 bucks through ebay

This is the screen protector your talking about http://www.pure-gear.com/shop-by-de...oll-on-kit-biodegradable-samsung-devices.html, Also cheaper direct through manufacturer by about $15. At any rate it looks like a good screen protector and very easy to apply. I may give it a shot once I get my device sorted out.
The Zagg glass from Verizon is a perfect fit, but if you have to be insanely accurate. If you are, the results are amazing. I read on another thread that version Best Buy carries does not fit well so I went straight to Verizon. Yes it's pricey but worth it. I'm used to staying under $15 for a glass one for my last few purchases. I purchased 2 backups (different manufacturers) for $3 total from Amazon with coupon codes, but it's good to know I won't need them. Let me know if you need pictures.
edit: For the most part, halos are causes by wrong cuts or if you are off by a hair in either direction. If applied correctly with the right brand, it should cover 100% of the flat area before the curve.
Thanks!
Pictures would be great!
Also... thanks everyone for the input so far! For the above-mentioned glass protectors, do they cover the curved part of the screen in a form-fitting way?
In the meanwhile, I've ordered from Amazon a couple of glass screen protectors as an inexpensive first step solution awaiting products that subsequently come out that may take advantage of user stories/input. The two are: (1) IVSO with lifetime warranty and (2) YooTech with lifetime warranty.
I also ordered three Note 5 cases from Amazon to try: (1) Spigen Air Cushion Slim Armor Case, Champagne Gold, model SGP11687; (2) Spigen Neo Hybrid Carbon Case, Gunmetal, model SGP11689; and (3) Urban Armor Gear Case, Black.
Unless I have totally overlooked it, you won't find a protector that covers the curve in a glass form. It wouldn't be physically possible since the glass protectors do not have any bend/give at the ends to cover the edges of the screen.
Looks to be possible
I wonder what might be the engineering reason for not producing a curved tempered glass screen protector. Cost perhaps? For example the screen itself is curved, why can't the protector be formed (molded in a sense) to mate to that? Search on "curved tempered glass" and you'll see that it is possible to create curved tempered glass.
Also, look up: "Cinder .2 mm Gorilla Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 6/6+" on YouTube (I'm new to XDA, can't post links yet!). This protector IS curved on the edges to follow the form of the phone. I'd love to see this for Note 5!
The Cinder is from Cupert. Check out Cupert (period) com.

i'm using this on my Note5, and so far, it's has the least amount of "halo" effect. probably .5 mm or less and barely noticeable unless you're looking for it; i can live with that for now. (see picture below) i used a T-Mo discount to purchase and have installed in the store. was told as long as i have my receipt they'll replace it if there's significant "halo".

Zero haloing. It might look that way because of the angle I shot it (6 plus camera .. sadface)
Supersheild works fine.
Mixed reviews + hope for the future
For all of the above-mentioned glass screen protectors, when I look at their Amazon ratings, I see overall a mixed set of reviews, primarily around halo issues and the screen not fitting enough of the Note 5's glass, and with some users having complaints about installation. My conclusions so far: that this represents what's currently on the market. However, presumably there's hope for a better product, e.g., a Gorilla Glass thin, sleek glass protector that curves to edges and fully form fits the entire screen, as is the case with the Cinder product made for the iPhone (in which instance the holy grail seems to have been found). We now know that this appears to be possible for a large curved device (see the Cinder references/web site I mentioned above).
My hunch is that a fully form-fitting glass protector would also provide better shock protection for the screen versus one that doesn't fully mate to the screen, curves and all.

Can you confirm if it's actually glass? I was going to buy it (not from tmobile, $40 is robbery) but the "flexible" part is what threw me off. How can a tempered glass SP be flexible? The mfg website states that it's made of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET).

I got the same one and yes it is dummy proof but the sides don't lay flat. It also gets greasy really easy. I've used this one http://www.amazon.com/Protector-Tem...pebp=1441665200689&perid=1CDB4C1PX00MRMTNJ7SD on other devices and it seems to work a lot better.

Tab S2 Screen Protection: The struggle is, real?

I know this has been a debate for years and years. Do I go with this, but I heard that and what if....
blah blah blah.
I have a film protector on my note 10.1 2014 and one on my note 8, they've been on there for so long I have no idea which ones I purchased. I recently picked one up for my tab S2 and it's juuuuunk! fingerprints galore. Getting on with this, I bought for the first time tempered glass for my phone and loved it. I don't believe tempered will take away from the amoled screen of the S2 but if I were to pick up a stylus (currently reading great reviews about the The Friendly Swede precision disc) will it take away accuracy? I believe the fingerprint issue is drastically decreased as well.
I'm all ears to experiences and opinions.
Sorry, don't have an answer but do you mind sharing which tempered one you got? I've never gotten a tempered glass one before but everyone who has gotten one seems to say they will never go back to PET film. There are hardly any screen protectors out there at all it seems...maybe it's still too early. I'm getting my tablet today and want to get a screen protector on this soon.
I'm using a glass screen protector for my S2 8.0, and as said, once you use one, there is no returning back to a PET film, glass protector for the S2 is rather limited at the moment, as the market is still small, I have searched through thousands of shops in china for a glass protector for the S2 8.0, and found many, but what is on offer is not what I want, all the protectors sold are flat edged, and 2.5D curved edged are very hard to find, although I did managed to find one shop and purchased 3 pieces.
Glass protectors from china are cheap and as most people will say, they are totally crap, I paid approximate USD 3.15 each for them, they do provide the basic protection from scratches and most protection against damaging the main screen, and that's what matter. For better quality one's, consider going to Gmarket a Korean base site owned by Ebay has some Korean made one's, but rather expensive and they do ship oversea.
At the OP's I'm sorry as I can't quote you on about the stylus, as I don't use them, but I sure it's better than the PET films and it does not affect my touch screen.
I've narrowed my choices down to two. The first one is from Skinomi. I originally purchased one for the the tab 8.4 and when I decided to go with the S2 I simply returned it and they were awesome via amazon. I am kicking myself that I never actually opened it to inspect the glass. I've read that some do have a curved edge and some don't. Here's the link to that one:

the other in the running is here, which it has a lot more reviews but I wonder how many are those fake reviews that are going around amazon. (the merchant provides a free product in exchange for reviews):

Apparently none of them mention about the curve screen, I'm not sure which version you have, I have the 8.0 version.
I have the 8" as well.

I purchased the Skinomi and was pleased with how quickly I installed it. I have no bubbles or particles and it is pretty much flush with the bezel. The button is now slightly recessed below it, but that will happen with all of the glass protectors. I *think* it's rounded because the edges around the button are so smooth. Clarity is excellent and the device is no less responsive. At this point I recommend it.

Thank you for the feedback! When I went to order on Amazon they were back ordered.

UPDATE: I ended up going through Skinomi's website and ordered, shipped and delivered only took one more day than amazon prime would have. Installed and would have to say it looks and feels flawless. Highly recommend.
I ordered this one which apparently has 2.5D, arrived today but haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Will update if it's any good

Skinomi seems really perfect, but... 20 € for 2 screen protection (Tab and Note) and... tatatatata... 80 € for UPS Ground Shipping (only choice for me). I give up!
I'm waiting for quite the same on eBay with free shipping. Deutsche qualität
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0123UHBBU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 This is the one I bought. I am really happy with the installation kit and product itself. I managed to kill my tablet (not the screen protector's fault-fell on the corner), so I bought another tablet and another Omoton screen protector. I'd definitely recommend them.
Screen protectors are superfluous and mar the whole experience. Sony recognized that - while the Z series had screen protectors by default, they fortunately removed them in the Z2 series.
It's simple: When you want to transport the device, put a cover/case on it (the Samsung one is fine).
Otherwise use it naked as intended by nature.

hardened glass covers don't reduce screen sensitivity or otherwise mar the "original" experience. Plastic ones do, but not the glass ones.

I bought the Omoton screen protector. The installation kit was the best but it is a fingerprint magnet.
Waiting for a Pen and will see if that does the trick.
I've personally never had one that wasn't a fingerprint magnet. I've got a million microfiber clothes, so they're all over the house and work.I just while it down every day.
So what own are you getting?

Official cases line a failure?

I think there are real big problems related to the lack of good accessories for S7 edge.
Facts:
- The best OEM protective cover (at least in my opinion) – the Leather Cover is nowhere to be found, only in pictures; there are several weeks of estimated delay for this product all over the world!
- The slim Clear Cover (transparent back cover) is mediocre designed, you should test them carefully before buying! Margins are awfully finished (very rough), the case comes already with scrathes on the transparent inner part (just like the case of S6 edge) and the lateral support (added also for lateral protection, a new redesign vs the one for S6 Edge/ Edge+) is very shaky, making the use of this case an absolute awful experience! At this price and with such high expectations, this is outrageos
- For the non-OEM cases: many have really big problems of proper compatibility and there must be 2 alternative reasons for this:
 Samsung has made a “last minute” redesign (eg: on top, a possible switch between the extra microphone hole vs the sim tray position)
 Samsung has rushed things too much and the non-OEM suppliers for accessories have failed this rythm... Even SPIGEN has big problems, there are many clear rumors that they have recalled all their accessories for the S7 Edge delivered to the market (you can start by checking amazon USA – there is no Spigen product for S7 edge!). The biggest problem: the clasic Neo Hybrid case, where the lateral polycarbonate frame was way too loose... Also the Rugged Armor, way too loose.... you should check reviews and facts including here on the forum!
- I must add that it-s a huge dissapointment regarding the non-existence of the Glossy Cover that was available for S6 Edge+, what a pity! And that design was clearly much much better and what a beautiful slim-line!
What do you think? What have you experienced?
I agree with your points on the Samsung cases. I think they could have been better. I have the Clear View and whilst it's an adequate case, it feels very loose. The front flap doesn't magnetically lock in place which I thought it really should. It's UI feature hasn't been implemented well.
I disagree with the Spigen comments. I have two Spigen cases and have had no issues with misalignment or them being too loose. In fact quite the opposite. I have two Spigen cases and one more on order. The two that I have in hand are:
Slim Armor Air
Neo Hybrid Crystal - Gunmetal
Both are seriously tight fits. The latter being tighter then the former. Whether the issues you mention are limited to a particular market, I don't know. But certainly Amazon UK still have all S7E products from Spigen.
I've also got the Spigen Thin Fit on order from Amazon.

The OP isn't wrong about Spigen's cases having fitment issues; take a look at my case OP if you want to see pictures of what he's referring to. On the other hand I disagree with why they're out of stock everywhere. This is speculation: Spigen likely had to revise one thing or another hence why they had a sale to clear inventory. Spigen's done this before, so it would not be surprising to see it happen again. I've seen then revise cases randomly, and then not tell anyone that they changed the case design. Spigen had never recalled a case, but I think it's certainly plausible they're revising the line up. I know my screen protectors from them had issues, and the new ones won't ship until the end of the month (maybe the cases will too). Only time can tell at this point, so there's no reason to really speculate further.
Ordered 2 spigen ultra hybrid's on amazon - 1 was loose on the sides not gripping phone and the other is slowly becoming loose.
Ordered 2 spigen neo hybrid cases on ebay. Silver has the loose PC frame the gold seems OK for now.
I will be contacting Spigen to see about replacements or if there are known fitment issues and if they are working on fixing them. I've had mostly spigen cases in the past with 0 issues. Hopefully this gets fixed.

I'm not saying the OP or you are wrong, I'm just saying my experience of the cases has been different. Maybe I've just been lucky.
I have a clear spigen and the plastic screen protector is being pushed off. There qare no glqa1ss ones available. And the battery cases not available

I'm definitely bummed that you can't get the Samsung leather case they show off on their websites so prominently. I love leather and always thought the Apple leather cases for iPhones felt good and had a nice minimalist look to them, so I was exciting to see Samsung rip that idea off. But since they weren't available at launch, I already have a case now and will question the worth of me buying another one if and when they come out.
I had the clear view cover and returned it mostly because of the fact it disables always on display. Instead i bought the keyboard case from samsung. So far i am happy with it. I always had problems while typing on the touchscreen and with the keyboard its really cool to type. Response on buttonpress could be better specially at the edges (my 'p' gives really bad resonse) and sometimes it acts crazy and the software keyboard or google voice thing is popping up. Also always on display does not work while keyboard is attached at front, but thats ok. The feeling of the case is really nice. A soft rubbered but not to rubby finish. I like it

Just the leather one? Not the LED leather one? It's weird because in the UK on the 8th when the S7E was released in the Carphone Warehouse I went in to they had just the Leather case by Samsung not the LED one. Now though, I see the LED leather case everywhere online etc. but rarely see the just leather one anywhere now!

Y'know that's weird. Sometimes 'P' on my touchscreen keyboard can give a bad response. Wonder if this is a common software issue...
I'm a big fan of the Clear Cover. No problems whatsoever and love the corners.
I've had my Spigen Ultra Hybrid crystal clear (ordered from Amazon) on my S7 Edge since March 5th (when the case arrived) and it was a perfect fit. Yesterday I took the case off (my first time removing it) to install my Skinomi screen protector. I put my Spigen case back on this morning and the case went on with the same feel as when I first got it.
All of the official cases are a failure, Samsung's and Apple's equally. I was looking forward to the release of the ARA phone but Google backed down. They released the Pixel which is just an improvement of the other competitor designs. There's nothing new and I am really disappointed in the whole industry. And now the poor excuse of an "official case" for their products. There are so many possibilities for making great cases for the phones. It is like the best car brand starts producing official ****ty tires for their cars. No offense they can invest and make great tires but they don't give a f**k.
On the other hand, I admire small companies that struggle to make great products like I-blades, Nexpaq and partially Otterbox that can continue and improve the modularity paradigm. Google realized that modular phone is a dead end. But they could join projects and release at least modular case for the Pixel.

Casemate clear fron Verizon
I have had experience with the clear Casemate case from verizon for a few days now. Its probably the worst case ive ever had. Terrible design, uses adhesive to adhere the front screen piece and easily come off with any pressure against it. Rear case holds just fine but is incredibly thick and changes the device into a boxy phone. Needless to say save your money and get a different case
Cool, thanks! Let us know how you like any of the ones you order.
I was thinking a possible case idea would be a rear TPU case that adheres with adhesive, but then has an extended flexible rubber that overlaps the screen edges. Then you could fold back the rubber when you want to swivel. Just a brainstorm, not sure how it would work in a practical use.
Just pulled the trigger on a case and protector from a Korean website (GMarket)
https://www.reddit.com/r/LGWing/comments/jeb6mn/just_bought_a_voia_case_and_screen_protector_from/
Just received my case from design skin I got the LG Wing Mix Two Pocket Card Case - Black/Yellow so far I like it way better than the case I got from Verizon that one was the worst case I ever got especially the front cover I think came off so easily.
Just got the Spigen case. It's a hard plastic case and it stays on using sticky pads. We'll see how long it lasts but it feels high quality and nice.

That's what I ordered today,it's the only one that's somewhat available ATM. No cases in stock at any of the carriers in my area.
Spigen quality is always top-notch, definitely no worries there & the price on it is reasonable.
If You guys get some good cases. Please leave links

This case came yesterday. I like the way it feels and the protection is good on the back half of the phone. It's not too slippery. I don't know that I could have expected anything more. ?
