I have just got a new galaxy s6 active and I was hoping someone could tell me the the 6.0 update was coming out ?:good:
AT&T is updating the regular S6 later this month, so I'd say another 1-2 months before the Active gets it

Sprint released Marshmallow for both S5 and S5 active at the same time, so there is a hope that AT&T will do so :angel::angel::angel:
P/s: S6 of AT&T is even lagging behind S5 of Sprint, AT&T sucks.

Its already rooted. It comes with unlocked boot loader.

Sprint quickly announced that it would be carrying the Samsung Galaxy S4 some time later this year but thus far, we haven’t seen the carrier release any information in regards to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 release.
We do know that the carrier will offer it with a pure unlimited data, unlike the other carriers, but for how much and when both remain complete mysteries. Sprint typically has competitive pricing so if AT&T’s Galaxy S4 does indeed arrive for $249.99 it could be that Sprint decides to follow suit.
However, since we don’t know which of the 16GB, 32GB, 64GB models it will be offering, it’s impossible to say at this point. The Sprint Galaxy S4 remains one of the most mysterious devices at this point.

Thats funny looking at the gs3 launch sprint was first to ship pre orders.
I'm sure samsung does not want repeat all the delays they had for gs3 and will have plenty to go around this time hopefully on or near 5/1.
All we know for sure is Sprint has simply not announced a pre order/release date yet.
Maybe sprint is waiting for exynos

There is a pre-lollipop root available. However, there is not one for anyone who has taken the lollipop OTA or got the S5 with it already installed. I am not sure if anyone is even working on it since this phone is almost 2 years old now.
I sold mine and got a unlocked tmobile s5 rooted it on 5.1.1 with no problem. I can use my at&t sim in it and with a few APN adjustments. My son still has the at&t s5 and it automatically took the 5.1.1 update. We still want to root it as soon as possible. Im sure sooner or later it will be a way to unlock the bootloader and root. Maybe at&t will soon unlock because I heard Verizon did

yeah I'm in the same boat my S4 that was rooted decided to not see the SIM anymore and I had warranty on it so when I called to get the replacement they didn't have any S4's left so they sent me a S5 ***BUT** the S5 came with 5.1.1 on it and now I'm f00ked......no more tethering with my grandfathered unlimited data plan I dun use it that way much MAYBE 5-6 times a year when we go camping and have no interweb access and I can't see paying $60/mo to use it tethered that infrequent.
If they wouldn't b1tch I'd throw my sim card in my laptop Wi-Mo card and use that for internet.

I have an Samsung S5 on ATT with 5.0 and I can tether with grandfather unlimited by using pdanet+. I think it was about $8.
Root yet?
Give up on root. Devs have moved on from the this phone. ( at least the AT&T version)

how do you tether on an At&T unlimited data plan and KEEP your UNLIMITED data plan?????
I talked to an at&t rep today and theres some news you need to know. Both the S6 and S6 edge will receive the 6.0.1 marshmallow update on April 4th, 2016. This is true because he checked his information and said that date according to at&t. I hope you are at least a gain from being grumpy about the slow update! Peace out and have fun!

Sweet, days after I get a new phone and switch carriers because by the time anyone from AT&T gets an update it's months old.

Samsung already released the 6.0 update awhile back. It's AT&T who is not releasing anything.
Yeah... I'll just check until it allows me to download an update, it was the 14, then 15, now you speculate the 4th.

Finally Sprint has released Pie! I layed down for a nap today (needed one especially after the Holidays), get up and notice my phone stating there is an OS update. I am now running Pie but what's funny is my wife and I switched to Verizon today, we're waiting for our new phones to be shipped to us before we quit Sprint.
I loved my V40 but it was both LG and Sprint that made us switch. The update service is total garbage. I would get monthly security updates once every 2-3 months and not getting Pie on a flagship phone only until like a year later is garbage. My wife and I literally have no service on Sprint in our new area and rely on wifi for everything on our phones. Now I wait a few days to get my new Galaxy S10+. No more LG and no more Sprint.
Welp it's time to say goodbye to the LG V40 forums and hello to S10+. Got my new S10+ today and switched to Verizon.
I'm enjoying the new Android 10 OS ?
