[GUIDE] Root, Unlock Bootloader & TWRP Recovery install on LG H502TV (Brazil) / Magna - LG Magna Guides, News, & Discussion

[GUIDE] Root, Unlock Bootloader & TWRP Recovery install on LG H502TV (Brazil) / Magna
After long months searching the web for a guide to unlock bootloader and install TWRP on LG H502TV (Brazil) / LG Magna without success, I got it working.
First you need to install Kingroot, I know, it's evil but we need root first. We'll uninstall it later.
On your mobile, open a web browser and go to http://www.kingroot.net/
Install it and run. It will reboot and fail a couple of times, I had success on my 4th run.
Go to Google Play Store and download Terminal Emulator - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
Copy or download directly on your internal memory root the 3 files in atachment: uboot.img, recovery.img and BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503.zip
Open terminal emulator and type:
Code:
su
dd if=/storage/sdcard/uboot.img of=/dev/uboot count=1024
dd if=/storage/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/recovery count=32768
Now you can remove the devil, I mean, Kingroot. Open it, go to About and the last option is Remove kingroot.
It'll reboot, go to Settings, About your Phone and enable USB Debugging, connect it to your PC and type:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
In TWRP install BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503.zip reboot and be happy.
Now with Unlocked bootloader and a Custom Recovery we can MAYBE get custom roms on our phone. Anyone said Marshmallow?

Just one question!
The last command, before plug phone on pc with usb debug, its be make on terminal (phone) or open cmd and make this command?

Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/storage/sdcard0/uboot.img of=/dev/uboot count=1024
dd if=/storage/sdcard0/recovery.img of=/dev/recovery count=32768
Use these commands.
Flashable MarshMallow 6.0 to Lg magna TV but you end up with only one sim. Flash via TWRP after system wipe and factory reset!
I am trying to add dual sim support but lets see. I guess all you need to change settings in build.prop using build.pro editor from play store
https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=...3F770E76CFB14DC1!308&parId=root&action=locate
Update flash Indian firmware on h502TV and it works perfectly. No problem. Make sure you use bootloader from update bootloader in TOT method and restart from Mini OS by using power key and then tap on restart (normal)
Done!

I tried step-by-step but I can't get to TWRP screen, It boots me normally or brings up the hard reset option, I even choose hard reset one but it just doesn't work. I tried all the steps over 12 times, can I get some help please?
My phone is an H522F

How to simply root FRF85B

Hi all,
Please how to simply root Nexus One?
This tutorial is to hard "
[Tutorial] Root FRF85B/FRF83/FRF72 (T-Mo/AT&T) Without Unlocking (100% Confirmed) "
No superboot.zip available for FRF85B?
Simply root = unlock bootloader. The second tutorial.
superboot.zip has nothing to do with the way of rooting. Rooting needs to bypass device protection to flash a non-certified update. So you either use exploits, or use the built-in protection override (fastboot oem unlock).
Depends on the status of your bootloader really.
If you want to keep it locked then that tutorial is your only hope.
I have unlocked bootloader but no superuser.apk and no Root privilege
About second Tutorial, we need linux....
If you have unlocked bootloader, what's the problem flashing pre-rooted FRF85B?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714184
I have already flashing my Nexus with Unrooted version because i had signature problem with pre-rooted version.
Now to re-install pre-rooted FRF85 version i need Custom Recovery but I need root to install custom recovery...
No way to have superboot.bat to simply rooted my FRF85?
To install custom recovery you only need to flash it via fastboot, since your bootloader is unlocked.
You can also use ROOT_FRF83 file from the "difficult" thread, if I'm not mistaken.

Thank's for your reply.
I will install custom Recovery to flash with pre-rooted version.
I need wipe before flashing with pre-rooted version?
No wipe needed.
About Custom recovery :
Pre-Requirements :
- unlocked bootloader : How to unlock the bootloader.
- root access : Modaco's superboot.
I have install recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img without rooting my nexus and now I have exclamation mark with a little Android...
Ok, did some search for you. Next time try - search button, "FRF85 root".
Reflash the stock recovery back.
Then use this:
http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=67177#post67177
Under "ROOT".
i have re-flash with stock recovery 2 times but still exclamation mark with a little Android.
Ok i push "Vol+" and "power", stock recoveruy appear
apply sdcard:update.zip (update-nexusone-FRF85-root-sig.zip from HTC EPIA)
--> E:signature verification failed..
Installation aborded
What about ROOT_FRF83.ZIP - did you try?
ROOT_FRF83.zip is for locked bootloader... mine is unlocked.
As i see i need linux and to make this command to root my stock FRF85B..
16) Download the following to the root of your SDcard
- recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img: http://rapidshare.com/files/39326736...s-v1.7.0.1.img
- Note: UnMount your SDcard after copying these files, but keep your phone plugged in
17) In your terminal type "adb shell" and hit Enter
18) In your terminal type "su" and hit Enter
- Tip: At this point, it will hang until you choose "Allow" on your phone with the SuperUser app pop-up
- Tip: $ should now be replaced with #
19) In your terminal, type "mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system" and hit Enter
20) In your terminal, type "cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image" and hit Enter
21) In your terminal, type "chmod 775 /system/bin/flash_image" and hit Enter
22) In your terminal, type "flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img" and hit Enter
23) In your terminal, type "rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh" and hit Enter
24) In your terminal, type "rm /system/recovery-from-boot.p" and hit Enter

ROOT_FRF83 is for ANY bootloader. It doesn't care about bootloader.
Download it to your SD card, rename to update.zip and apply. It might not work - in this case, you have nothing to do but to follow the other guide, or wait until someone makes FRF85B superboot for stock ROM and recovery.
The part you've quoted is way past the actual root. Read the thread again, the root ends much earlier.
You need to do steps 1-15, and you need no Linux.
I checked again in Paul's thread, STOCK to CM.
There is NO requirement for root to flash custom recovery through fastboot. Otherwise fastboot wouldn't help any in rooting - think yourself, you need root to flash recovery, and you need recovery to flash root?
Here's a quote from there:
- If you get a Triangle with a ! in the middle alongside an Android for 5+ minutes, you MAY have to remove battery and re-flash recovery (I had to do this once.) (Make absolutely sure that nothing is happening on your phone, as removing the battery when it's doing something can cause a brick.)
So you can try this one and flash AmonRa's recovery again. If it doesn't work, and it turns out that you need Modaco's superboot (which doesn't exist for your version) - then you're back to the second guide.
I have always triangle with a ! after removing batterie, AmonRa's recovery won't appear...
I will wait superboot from paul.

Step by Step how to get root from FRF85B stock (with unlocked bootloader) :
- Download AmonRa Custom Recovery and put it where google SDK, Tool folder, is installed.
- Download update-nexusone-FRF85-root-sig.zip and rename it update.zip and put it on the root of your SDCARD
1) Switch off the nexus
2) Hold the Trackball and Power button
3) fastboot devices (to make sure that fastboot "sees" your phone)
4) fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img
5) Don't reboot nexus! just chose "bootloader" from menu, after nexus reboot automaticly, chose recovery
6) AmonRa recovery appear!
7) Apply update.zip
You have root access!

[Guide] How to recover Soft-Brick from OTA & custom recovery

I know this one has been answered a few times in pieces, and somewhat understandable manner. However, I wanted to decrypt this for everyone to be able to understand how to do it and to overcome this particular issue.
Issue: You have a custom recovery installed and your LG G2 prompts you to install the new OTA (i.e. KitKat update). You then accidentally/unknowing of consequences accept the update. Your phone restarts and keeps going to the custom recovery which you had installed, instead of booting to the update. You endlessly try to boot to your phone, but it just keeps going back to your custom recovery.
Things to do ahead:
1. Have LG G2 drivers installed on computer you will be using. You can get those from the LG website easily by searching LG G2.
2. Obtain ADB and fastboot files from HERE
3. Obtain working TWRP vs 2.7.0 from HERE if you don't have the TWRP recovery installed (i.e. if you're using CWM or Philz recovery).
Recovery Procedure:
1. If you have TWRP recovery installed, proceed from step 9
2. If you have CWM or Philz recovery installed, follow these next steps.
3. When inside CWM/Philz recovery, click on option to install zip.
4. Have your phone connected to a computer which has the LG G2 drivers installed, found on LG's site. Make sure to install drivers without phone connected to computer first. After installing, restart computer, and then plug phone to computer USB port.
5. Now that you have the phone plugged to comp, and that the comp has recognized your phone, open up CMD and navigate to the folder where you have your ADB file located and workable TWRP recovery zip file.
6. Once there, click on install using sideload on your phone's custom recovery which should be located inside the install zip option.
7. Then type in CMD on computer this: ADB sideload TWRP-file-name.zip
Note. Replace TWRP-file-name.zip with whatever the TWRP zip file on your computer is named to the letter.
8. Your phone will install TWRP recovery at this point. Once it finishes, restart your phone by rebooting recovery (should be an option somewhere there in the main level of the recovery)
9. TWRP should boot now. Once inside TWRP, click on Advance
10. Then click on Terminal Command
11. Next click on Select
Note: Do not navigate to any other folder. Just click on Select. You'll know what I mean once your in Terminal Command.
11. Type this command in the space provided in your phone (NOT in CMD) which should be now in Terminal Command mode exactly to the last letter. I'm not kidding; don't miss a character or replace a number. You risk nuking your phone. Double check your typing.
Type this: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
Note: You should note that there is a space between dd and if=/dev, and another space between /zero and of=/dev
12. Once the command finishes running, about 30 seconds or less, restart phone. And voila. Your phone should boot back to your pre-selecting update with OTA mode.
In my case, I wiped everything and tried restoring one of my nandroids. That did not help me boot my phone. However, when I did the above mentioned steps, my phone booted to my backed up state which I installed prior.
Hopefully you don't end up being a victim of this. But if you are, now you can confidently bring yourself back :good:
Good luck and share your progress. Thanks!
Cheers,

I repeated this three times, and no luck... any suggestions?
I did it a tad differently. I am running Windows 7.
First I downloaded these universal drivers so my phone was recognized under Device Manager, went to my adb directory with command prompt and typed the following:
adb shell
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
I just preferred using the keyboard, but your directions will work, too.
secure booting error
got the OTA update ...after that boots to Logo with a "secure booting error" message then a black screen, can't go to download mode, phone is recognized as QHSUSB in device manager, factory recovery doesn't work.
what can be done in this case??

[Emergency Guide] How to Blank or regenerate Watch (WA 5.01) after clearing \system

[Emergency Guide] How to Blank or regenerate Watch (WA 5.01) after clearing \system
Prerequisit :
Be sure to have latest adb (1.0.32) and fastboot version. Download it from here
Link to know how to enter into fastboot
Under Fastboot
Download boot from here
Code:
- fastboot flash boot bootll.img
Download TWRP recovery from here
Code:
- fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Go to Recovery and format all twice with TWRP recovery
Flashing back stock recovery :
Download stock recovery from here
Code:
- fastboot flash recovery recoverll.img
Back to stock recovery, format twice
Regenereting system step :
Download rooted AW 5.01 system directory from here
Code:
- fastboot flash system system.img
Go back to stock recovery, Choose apply update from ADB (adb sideload)
Download AW 5.01 update from here
Code:
- adb sideload 149e0c34d0ab10d3e356d6301915dcc04552d9db.signed-lenok-LWX48P-from-KNX01R.149e0c34.zip
Reboot system now. Choose langage, etc.
Nota : At this time, if you don't need root and Chainfire SU (witch is useless at this time) you can go just for flashing TWRP by :
Code:
- adb reboot bootloader
- fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
And that's it.
Or following steps : Rooting back Watch and custom TWRP Recovery support
Download stock rooted AW 5.01 system directory from here
Code:
- adb reboot bootloader
- fastboot flash system system.img
Reboot Watch, autorize adb debug on the watch
Download Chainfire SU 2.40 from here or BETA-SuperSU-v2.42.zip
Note : You can remove Superuser.apk from the zip file into \common recovery which it is not compatible with AW 5.01
Pushing SU to the watch
Code:
- adb push supersu.zip /sdcard/su.zip
Back to Fastmod and flashing TWRP advanced recovery
Code:
- adb reboot bootloader
- fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Restart watch and go to TWRP recovery, install/flash su.zip from sdcard, reboot
Et Voilà !
Nice write up, I'm not sure doing the adb sideload does anything though. The system image is already patched, it was a backup from my device just rooted. Currently I have busybox working on the device and and working on init.d support so any changes we want to make will survive after reboot.
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
It'ill be nice :good:
HELP
I've done everything to try to get back to AW 5.01 but when I get to the adb sidelload part it says "error: device not found".
It's seem that windows 8 is not detecting my watch. Anyone have any insight on this would be great thanks!

Never Mind Got it to Work!
How did you get it to work?
I managed it, too. Turns out I had to reinstall drivers while in sideload mode. You can do it in device manager, select from computer, from list and find ADB composite device.
Hey guys, I accidentaly installed supersu apk on my watch and now I can see it in the menu all the time. How can I remove it from /system/app/SuperSu? Do I have to root first in order to gain rw rights on /system, remove whole SuperSu folder than do a factory reset for example and it won't show up anymore?

[Guide] How I Restored to Stock, Got the latest OTA and Rooted ~ Enjoy …

Thought I would add this small guide here as I’ve been trying to find something similar and didn’t.
Before I start-off, All the credits go to the amazing XDA Developers and their respective mods, as things would’ve never been this easy or straight-forward without their dedication and hard work. Namely @bunny0007 , @intersectRaven , @invisiblek and @Tomsgt
Having both the LG G Watches, It was only a matter of time that I too wanted the new OTA Updates, so as to use the sort-of-amazing features it promised. Now being on a Stock-rooted 5.1.1 firmware from @bunny0007 and running a Custom Kernel from @intersectRaven, I was told that it wouldn’t be possible to get the OTA installed even if it popped-up (Well it would install, but not actually show anything) This I tried, But when the watch rebooted; it showed a dead android bot with an exclamation over it’s guts! Which to me meant, things weren’t apparently going in the right direction. After a couple of trials, this* is what eventually worked ...
*A word of caution before you proceed, this worked for me and “might” not work for you. So if your watch gets nuked or bricked (which again, I highly doubt it would), it ain’t my fault but yours and murphy’s alone!
Now that’s out of the way, Let’s make sure we have the bare necessities such as:
A PC that can run ADB and Fastboot Commands using CMD, usually Installed by:
◦ The 15 Seconds ADB Installer - XDA Post
◦ The Android SDK Platform Tools - link
◦ The Necessary Google Drivers - link
The Stock 5.1.1 (LDZ22D) Boot, Recovery and System images:
◦ For G Watch - link
◦ For G Watch R - XDA Post
The most recent TeamWin Recoveries
◦ For G Watch (dory) - link
◦ For G Watch R (lenok) - link
The Wear SuperSU, that can be used on both the watches - link
*Optional: The Custom Kernels
◦ For G Watch by @invisiblek - XDA Post
◦ For G Watch R by @intersectRaven - XDA Post
*Optional: The Advanced Settings App - Google Playstore
*These are strictly optional and are only based-off of my personal preferences. Feel free to install any custom kernel or tweaking apps of your choice.
TIP: If you need to flash a file from a particular folder, You can invoke CMD by holding the Shift Key and Right-click to see the Open command window here option.
1) Restoring to Stock & Relocking the Bootloader (This is only if you have unlocked your bootloader and have rooted previously)
a. Make sure, the watch is charged to a 100%, Can’t stress this enough!
b. Enable Adb Debugging on your watch. Eh, how?
Go to Settings > About.
Tap on the Build Number repeatedly until it says You’re a Developer.
Go back and tap on Developer options and Enable ADB Debugging.
As you place the watch on the cradle that is connected to your PC, you’ll be prompted to Are you sure?, Select Always allow from this computer and click OK.
Once you have downloaded and extracted the appropriate Image zip for your watch into a folder. You should see the following files: Boot.img, Recovery.img and System.img!
c. Now Access CMD will elevated privileges or in other words as admin and enter the following codes:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot -w
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Code:
fastboot reboot
With the final command, the watch will reboot showing the Lg logo minus the lock sign, which means the bootloader has been locked. It should then continue onto boot into Android Wear. Yes, it’s going to take some time to complete, so be patient and let it do it’s thing.
2) Installing the OTA Update
Once the watch boots into android wear, Go through the initial setup and link it with your phone. Then go to Settings > About > System Updates, where you’ll see your new update being downloaded. When done, Accept to install and the watch will reboot to install the update without any issues. Once completed, It will upgrade the existing apps on the watch and boot into Android wear.
Congrats, You have now installed the new update!
3) Unlocking the Bootloader & Flashing TWRP
As with any other android device, You’ll need to unlock the bootloader to install a custom recovery. So enable debugging the same way as mentioned at the beginning of this guide. Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Code:
fastboot reboot
The watch will reboot showing the Lg logo with an unlocked sign, meaning the bootloader has been unlocked. Again, as it boots into android wear, Go through the initial setup and link it with your phone. Enable Adb Debugging, Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-lenok.img
Now on the watch, using the < O > keys, select Recovery Mode and press the O key to enter into TeamWin Recovery. This is required to be done only once, because if you directly reboot after flashing the recovery, there are chances it won’t work. Proceed to reboot by pressing the Reboot button in TWRP.
4) Sideloading SuperSU and Installing it using TWRP
Once the watch has booted back up, Invoke CMD and enter the following commands to push SuperSU zip & to reboot into recovery:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb push Wear-SuperSU-v2.40.zip /sdcard/
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Now on the watch, You should be in TWRP. Select Install and scroll down to find the zip and swipe to flash. It will show as successful and proceed to reboot.
Congrats, You are now rooted and how do you check you are? Once the watch has rebooted into android wear. Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
5) Install the Custom Kernel (Optional)
This is more of an individual choice on which custom kernel you want to use, As it depends on how you use the watch. Myself being a light user, I use the single core vr of the custom kernel from the dev @intersectRaven to make it more battery friendly. Invoke CMD and enter the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot boot single.boot.img
That is, If you want to boot the image temporarily, but this will reset to stock after a restart or
Code:
fastboot flash boot single.boot.img
Code:
fastboot reboot
6) Install Advanced Settings (Optional)
This free tiny little app has been a lifesaver and gets updated often with new features. There are lots of things you can configure and tweak without the need to edit manually via adb.
Guess I’m done then, I hope this guide helps someone in some way And also to get the best out of their watch …
Thanks mate this was really nice of you, thumbs up
