I want to update instead of starting from scratch. I tried with snapshot and CWM recovery and I couldnt do it by both ways

I tried stock version with cm recovery and update via ota then install through cm recovery but not able to flash gapps which was not present in ota , then flash twrp recovery and flash gapps via twrp shown more fc , so I reflash everything now no problem till now

How do I flash this? Thru Cyanogen recovery? thru TWRP? If thru TWRP, which version?

I flash through twrp 3.0.0 recovery.there is no gapps in update, when I first flash through cm recovery , I need twrp to flash gapps but that lead to many fc . so I flash through twrp clean flash of ROM, gapps through twrp 3.0.0 official recovery

COS13 is on the way. "That said, you'll find that 13 runs amazing on the OPO thanks to both improvements in M and also the low level stuff we improved this time around. COS13 for the OPO is in final QA+cert so it won't be much longer (a few days we hope)."

[Q] Omnirom 4.4 help

On this Omnirom 4.4 for N7000. Am I supposed to have to flash CMW every time I update the nightly. Currently on 1Dec build. Also these night lies unrooted me and I can not figure out how to root again. I am kind of a noob. So that leads to my last question. Since you were working on the CM 11 builds you know what's going on and when I had beta 6 flashed it didn't unrooted me or uninstall CWM. So is there a way to get those codes from CM 11 into the new Omniroms so we don't have to constantly reflash CWM and reroot. Thanks
-Omni rom comes with twrp recovery. You can flash the update using this recovery itself.
-For rooting you will need to flash supersu after you flash the ROM. This zip can be downloaded from the ROM thread.
-CM 11 for n7000 stopped at beta 6 for now till may be if cm team publishes a nightly.
Thanks

I have flashed CWM but every time I flash a new nightly it overwrites CWM and I have t reflash before I can flash a new nightly. Thanks about supersu. But what I meant about CM features. Herna was working on the beta 6 so why can't those CWM and root features be moved to Omnirom?
I don't think cwm will be used in omni as they have gone with twrp recovery. Most of the features will be integrated slowly
You font need to flash cwm every time. You can flash the zip file using the twrp recovery also.

Cool thanks I thought the thread said you couldn't flash the Omnirom zip with twrp.
You cannot flash omni rom with a cwm version lower than 6.0.43. I guess. Twrp is fine.

How to flash AOSP-based ROMs

Hey guys, judging from the number of users between Slimkat, CM, and Mokee that are having trouble installing, here is a guide to install any AOSP-based ROM for the Xiaomi Mi3
Installation Guide:
Be on a KitKat ROM before flashing
You must have a custom recovery installed that allows SELinux.
Download the Xiaomi Mi3 build .
Download the gapps
Disable True Dual Boot
Fully wipe your device from Recovery if you are not coming from the ROM you're flashing already.
Install ROM on System 1
Wipe Dalvik and Cache
Reboot
Enjoy, hit the thanks button
Would be rather helpful if you explain it in a bit more detail. People who don't know some of the things written above will be left even more confused.
Agreed, some newbies do not know all the acronyms and versions... I know KitKat is Android 4.4.x , but what custom recovery? TWRP (TeamWin Recovery Project)? Clockword Mod? The Mi3 W (Snapdragon 800 chipset?). Anyone else want to expand / pitch in?
Thanks.
get the latest recovery from either twrp or cwm. It'll work. just be sure you get the correct build.
CANCRO is the international version (snapdragon)
and most of the roms are for cancro only

Hi Bro, I am a newbie here, don't know anything at all. Can you help a bit here?
1. Kitkat rom:-> any of the miui rom will work? just the number > 4.4x ?
2. How to install custom recovery, can you give a link for mi3?
3. You meant download from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/general/aosp-rom-leaked-t2876646/ ?
4. Install Slim on System 1 :- Can you give a link?
Is it just me or does formatting cache with CWM take forever on this device? I'm wating for at least fifteen minutes now and it used to take just seconds on my old device. I know the MIUI revocery had that annoying 98% bug but CWM shouldn't be affected by the same thing right?

"SystemUI Stopped Working" right after boot

I was flashing and using LP roms normally till I came back to KK.
After a week I wanted to come back to LP, but then, every lp rom I flash gave me the message "systemui stopped working" right after the boot
I can't even click an app icon
What i've already tryed:
-Clean Flash
-Dirty Flash
-Update Recovery (TWRP)
-Flash With/Without GAPPS
-Diferrents ROMS
Nothing seems to work, every rom gave the same error after flashing
Can someone help me?
I have seen this and forget how I got past it but try this recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/xt10xx-philz-touch-t2612149
Even before trying that - try a clean flash of a very early version of L then boot it up. Then dirty flash the latest version and gapps.

Remember pls
I guess there's no problems with the gapps, because, even when I flash without the gapps, I got the same error
BTW i'm download that gapps to flash it
Help pls
Just got a Moto X 1st gen replacement from Motorola and getting same problem after unlocking/rooting. Has OP found a fix for this? Or does anyone know how to fix? Spent all day working on this and its driving me nuts.
Did you guys flash CM11 first let it boot up and then dirty flash CM12? Might not be needed still but was when I tried CM12.
Just installing CM 11, or any other rom, caused this problem. Unfortunately can't go back to my 1053 stock as I didn't make a nandriod backup since I didn't think I needed.
...not sure if it'll help, but did you guys update the bootloader and such to match your android version? I had to update mine before it would work right.
Your kernel may be out of date, update it or change it

[Q] Official Cyamogenmod 12.1 Bootlop

Hey everyone,
I found an Official update for my device from CyanogenMod Download Site.
I search any forum if available here about this ROM, unfortunately i cannot be able to find any form related to this ROM. Then i download 5.1 Gapps and download the ROM CyanogenMod 12.1. i wipe dalvik , userdata , cache and system. then flash both of the zip files ive downloaded. As i was using 12.0 Cyanogen i dont think i need to flash Cyanogen snapshot as it require for 12.0 to solve the BootLop. After flashing my phone is stuck on the booting animation since 20-25mins then i force reboot my phone into Recovery then i flash the SNAPSHOT and then reboot for once it works fine for me, then i just flash 12.1 and L gapps on the phone and then reboot, unforunately im facing the same problem from last hour. I dont know how to make 12.2 Cyan to work on my phone wihtout bootlop.
If anyone knows how to remove the bootlop then please let me know, thanks

Hmmm...I was on CM12 and wiped everything (cache, dalvik cache, system, data) so I clean flashed CM12.1 and GApps 5.1, after 2-3 mins it booted ok. So I guess flashing CM11 first is not needed. Just try again idk...:/

Problems with TWRP/CyanogenMod 12.1 - Motorola MotoG 2nd Gen XT1068

Hello guys! How are you?
I'm having some bugs with CyanogenMod 12.1 in my MotoG and haven't found nothing that could help me with my problem.
Well, here's the story:
My device had Android KitKat 4.4 as the stock rom and I updated it to Lollipop 5.0 before rooting.
Well, I unlocked the bootloader and used TWRP as a custom recovery and installed SuperSU.
I've been using the phone about almost 8 months after rooting and then, Motorola released an update, I tried to update it via OTA and, of course, it didn't worked since TWRP can't OTA. Nothing changed in my phone, I simply rebooted it and it worked but since a few days some apps started to suddenly close and/or stop.
I decided to install CyanogenMod 12.1, downloaded the latest nightly and a stock package of GApps and flashed them via TWRP.
Wiped Dalvik Cache, Data, Cache and System
At the first attempt, TWRP rebooted after flashing CM12.1 and I wiped the caches via WIPE menu before flashing GApps wich couldn't be installed because there was "no space in storage". Well, I booted my phone normally (running cm12) and downloaded a Micro GApps package and flashed it sucessfully.
Problem is: Clock stops working (it has stopped for now), I can't install some apps from PlayStore such as Facebook, etc and my phone appears to be unrooted.
I think my TWRP is bugged or something cause it does not works as tutorials, etc tells...It shows some errors and sometimes reboots itself after flashing some file.
Do you guys think I should reset everything and then redo all the steps to use CyanogenMod properly? I really liked this custom rom but I'm afraid there will be more bugs in the future....
Anyone?
my solution..
1. (JUST SAYING)You can install ota through fastboot. Use the ota file found in root.( There is a thread for this)
2. Try installing Lucas 2.8.7.0 build. Find it in his thread. Its posted there. It's somewhere in the sea of posts just find it.
3. Then try to clean flash cm 11 build. Then install cm 12.1 build.
4. See if it works.
I don't understand why you face this problem cause well TWRP is very stable.
Well see if it works and get back to me.
Edit :
Saved you some trouble here's the link for TWRP
Link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0WGdtNWubBJVlctNE5PZ1oyQ00/view?pli=1
Its labelled as 2.8.7.0 but its actually 6.0 features of 7.0.

This is exactly what you should do.
There are several things that don't work as they supposed to do, so follow the steps @sagar846 mentioned.
