First!! Congratulations for the kernel!!

The kernel seems to flash fine but gets stuck on the boot screen. It doesn't loop, it just sits there and won't boot up.

Congrats!
I'm sorry if it states in the op, but I don't see it. Is this kernel for stock or cm?

Sorry for sounding like an idiot, but how does this change the dynamic of the phone?
Do things look different?

I am using the same. I also did a fresh install of the Rom and then flashed the kernel. Reboot to system, but just gets stuck. Maybe I will try a different Rom and see how that goes.

Just flashed it from the link and booted fine.
Are you clearing cache after flashing or fixing permissions?

I got it to work with a stock busy boxed rom. I also went back to an earlier version of twrp. I'm not really sure what the issue was.
I wiped dalvic, data, cache, and internal. Flashed the Rom then the kernel then rebooted.
I have a feeling the issue was twrp 3.0 but I'm not positive.
I noticed I can't set the 2 cores to the highest freq in kernel audiator. It won't stick.

I'm using 3.0 and it worked fine. That's weird.. If you go in and click the mhz to 1632 and then go back and out it at the highest it should stay I don't know why that is haha.
I'm glad it finally worked!

How did it run when you were running it? I wonder if the kernel would work for CM. Hmmmmmmm

No, you would have to build a separate kernel for cm... It wouldn't boot...
Common sense isn't all that common

Dang, it didn't work for me on GreezePop_H901_10c_20160112. It boots but blacks out right before bringing up the lock screen, and thats that.

Okay i think ill flash cr droid and then post my thought on the kernel...But i have a noob question...(pardon me for that ): How does the C-ROM update have anything to do with the compatibility of the kernel?
Great, another awesome kernel, we have more and more concurrency here
BTW. Can u please share your github in first post? would be nice to see what magic was put into ur code
Cheers.

@dhacker29 recently updated adreno and GPS blobs and made changes in kernel for their compatibility. That's why old ROMs aren't booting with latest up to date kernels.

[KERNEL]Skin1980's G Watch Urbane Kernel

Hi guys, here is my kernel for the G Watch Urbane.
Features:
- SELinux permissive;
- Autoroot script;
- init.d support;
- increase vibration duration ( not strength cause it's already set to 90 and i don't want to kill the vibrator with wrong values);
- unlocked all core for better performance and also added the mpdecision binary for the CPU hotplug ( thanks to @invisiblek that used it in his G Watch boot image);
- raised max cpu freq to 984Mhz for a good compromise between performance and battery life;
- removed GPU freq limitation and set GPU governor to simple_ondemand;
- added Smartmax governor and set it as default;
- various ramdisk changes.
Changelog:
Version 1.5:
- fixed autoroot script;
- added fiops scheduler and set as default;
- added intelli_plug from faux123 and set it in eco mode.
Version 1.5.1:
- fixed a bug with autoroot script that prevent the sideload of apks
Version 1.6:
- added busybox
Version 2.0:
- added kppd from @savoca to control screen parameter ( RGB channel and other things ),
see HERE for more details
- added 3 script to simplify the use of kppd:
1- kppd-configure: to configure and try your settings;
2- kppd-on: make an init.d script to load you kppd settings at boot;
3- kppd-off: turn of auto boot of the script above.
Version 2.5:
- enabled interactive governor and enabled it by default ( a way more responsive then SmartMax and also fix the slow / unrensponsive wake up);
- added Power Suspend driver;
- fixed intelliplug / screen off profile ( now works nicely, while screen off only 1 core enabled and max 300 Mhz ).
***********************************************************************************************************************
To use this kernel you have to unlock your bootloader. This mean that the device will be factory resetted.
To try the kernel ( will be resetted to stock after a reboot ):
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot bass-skin1980-1.0.img
To flash the kernel:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot bass-skin1980-1.0.img
fastboot reboot
tnx to @invisiblek ( i took some ideas from his G Watch kernel ) @Chainfire
Source: https://github.com/Skin1980/bass

I'm wondering if this would be useable on G watch R as they are so similar?

First time i did the same and got bootloop.
I restarted the watch and let it boot. I did complet setup. Rebooted in bootloader and flahed the kermel. After that watch booted normally.
Ofcourse i just fastboot boot bass-skin1980-1.0.img just for testing.
Wi-Fi does not work. It does not show/find any hotspots and when it disabled it i can not turn it back on.

Ok got it working, thanks to @Skin1980 :good::highfive:
Although another version was needed.
For now it seams snapier... And it seams also battery friendly...
I'm wanting to give this a shot but for some reason I can't get my watch to connect via ADB. Is there something else I need to do other than enabling debugging?
New kernel is up guys... test if you can
Guys sorry but i made a little mistake with the latest kernel that prevent the apps sideload on the watch.
In order to get all working again please follow this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/wat...guide-return-to-stock-g-watch-urbane-t3213603 to restore the watch, and then flash the 1.5.1 version that fix all.
Thanks a lot and sorry again
EDIT: You can only flash system partition and the new kernel without hard reset. All will be fixed.
Version 1.6:
- added busybox
It works , Thank you for your support

Features of this Kernel:
- Build with latest sabermod Toolchain 7.0
- Build with BPI7 kernel source!
- F2FS compatible
- Choose kernel between quality or modes
- Latest Linux version 3.18.42, is always up to date
- Performance and Batterylife improved
- Choose between different CPU governors: performance, powersave, userspace, ondemand, interactiv (default), conservative
- Built with latest ramdisk sources from samsung (BPH7)
- I/O schedulers: CFQ (Default), ROW, No-op, Deadline, BFQ, FIOPS, SIO, VR, ZEN, FIFO, and SIOplus
- Fixed power efficient wq permission
- Critical TCP bug fixed
- Thermal drivers updated
- Selinux updates merged by google
- Zram LZ4 enabled
- Allow ADB-Insecure
- TCP (Network) control: Bic (default), Reno, cubic, Westwood, Highspeed, Hybla, HTCP, Vegas, Veno, Scalable, LP, Yeah and Illinois
- SeLinux is set to permissive
- All samsung related configs disabled (as knox, tima, restrict rooting)
- force encryption by samsung disabled!

report
After rebooting the device the subscription to the Wi-Fi network get lost, means I have to reenter the password after every reboot. I don't know if it's the kernel like it is or because I changed the TCP congestion fromm cubic to highspeed. I don't have any experience with this feature. I could change back to cubic and check if the network subscription sticks... .

Would a boot.img backup in this case suffice? I haven't flashed the kernel yet but a boot image backup would contain the old kernel as well. The question is mostly if there are any other modifications that are being done.

If you don't have the zip file, I would say, you could restore the boot and system partition from your backup, this should bring back the backuped kernel.

Ok nice I will try it then. By the way it is better to use ext4 for other partitions than /data and /cache.

All other partitions are simply not supported
Kernel works great so far. No issues and performance feels good.
What's the best way to switch between SELinux permissive and enforcing on this kernel should one want to experiment with that? Some solutions don't seem to like KNOX but it should be disabled on the kernel, too, right? I'm still struggling to get Magisk Hide working so I'm feeling experimentative.

[KERNEL][6+] Noob Kernel 22-01-2019 [UPDATED][OC]

Noob Kernel
Code:
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app
failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about
features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are
choosing to make these modifications, and if you point
the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at
you. If you dont like this rom, Stay away from this thread!
I don't like large threads. My old espresso needs an up, so where we go.
It's based on latest omap4 common by unlegancy-android with these changes:

Hey there, will this work on my P3100 running SlimRom Nougat? Thanks!
Thanks!
Will test ASAP and report here!
Idea: is it possible to get some build with 1.4 or 1.5 GHZ like MM or LP kernels we had previously for this tab ? maybe it could boot at 1.2GHZ but with the proper tools (like setcpu) this higher levels would be possible as the user would test this possibility in each device! This boost is the only way to get updated apps and games to run properly in these tabs today and even battery savings can be reached with the right tweaking!

Yes I could but not sure how much it will effect CPU life, Android Andi said he dosent want to burn his CPU, but I can make a test build with those frequencies and try it out and tweak voltages to get some idea

Do you have any recommendations to configure the kernel to get the tablet run faster and smoother? I dont care much about battery.

Thanks for the info,
You can enable touch boost with the settings i provided in the the second post, just change the boot duration to 1000 or 500 ms!
Switch to SIO i/o in IO scheduler settings.
Switch to LULZACTIVE GoV
Also do you use telegram?
Getting a boot loop on the kernel from 22/01/2019, but boots fine with the kernel from 20/01/2019.
Using P5110 with OmniROM with Android 7.1.
Am I missing much on the older version?

Dont worry I will be dropping a new build soon.
Seems to me like the bootloop on p5XX devices is caused by Overclocking to 1200Mhz :/
Hi.
I have both: P3110 and P5110 and both run 1.52GHZ fine with CandySiX-espressowifi-1.1.1-UNOFFICIAL-0320.zip + DhollmenM-Espresso_Kernel_20160629-P5110.zip OR DhollmenM-Espresso_Kernel_20160629-P3110.zip !
It is this limit I would like to test with updated ROMs and your kernel!
Thanks again.
PS: I can test your kernel builds with this updated frequencies if you need!
