Got a question to everyone, who changed their touchscreen... - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After changing my touchscreen, when i flash any Adrian's builds or Helium kernel 6.1 my phone can't access recovery and touchscreen doesn't work. But when i use any Adrian's builds with Helium Kernel lower than 6.0 - everything works fine.
P.s. stock CM 12.1 Nightlies with CM kernel also work without issues
Using Adrian's AICP and Helium 5.0 - everything works good.
Any ideas?

The safest answer would be the kernel apparently doesn't support the newer touchscreen you installed. I suspect driver issues but I may be wrong

Starting from Helium 6 I cleaned up the config file of the kernel to match Adrian's. This removed a lot of unnecessary drivers but it might have removed some options that made your touchscreen work properly. Previously I used a very old config file. I'll compare the two configs and try to build another kernel that supports your touchscreen.

Same issue here, in TWRP i cannot use my touchscreen. (I changed 2 digitizer, last one give this problem)
F*** ! Digitizer not working on cm12.1 :'(

i wonder what the heck is going on with my screen.
I was on 4.1.2 , waiting STRYFLEX 2.0.
I changed my digitizer 3 days ago. No problems in 3 days.
But this morning, the screen go a little crazy (touched 3-4 times itself randomly ), but i did not care so much.
After that, i reboot to recovery /to install and try Sailfish OS.
But after Fastboot flash TWRP 3.0.2 /// BAMM BOOM %#$!!
The screen is not working anymore. I will try to reflash the stock with Flashtool.
and thanks for the reply
---------- Post added at 03:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:41 PM ----------
I tried 4.3 but again, no response from digitizer.
Will flash 4.1.2 and make sure that the screen is completely gone

regular update passed ok.
and then:
1. tasker fail to perform a few actions that demand root (such as "sceencap -p \sdcard\folder\pic.png").
2. Titanume backup fail to backup . "rom storgage full" or somthing like this.
reintall old su zip 2.46 from recovery fixed the problems , reupdate su binary return the problems.

Ah you are using Cyanogen OS cm's most despised OS. Seems to be they just updated to android 5.1.1. The Quality of this ROM is nowhere near the same as Cyanogenmod, could just be some broken port of 5.1.1

But this is the official last version for OPO. isn't it suppoed to be supported?
Well technically OPO has no "official ROM" See they provide COS by default but they themselves also support other ROMs like Cyanogenmod. I highly recommend you get cm 13 it's well worth it
---------- Post added at 03:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:02 PM ----------
cyanogen OS is managed by a different sector in Cyanongen Inc than Cyanogenmod which is mainly managed by independent developers and they are well known for making awful ROM's (that sector is)

Full Note7 Port for N910F by standm (Aurora Base)

Herewith find an updated version of my previous rom based on the orignal Aurora 3.1 Note 7 Port.
As previously mentioned, all credit to the developers of the ROM, including all fixes. I am only supplying you with the full package including many fixes for the N910F.
It should be noted that I have made many changes for this ROM to run smoothly on the N910F. It should be fine on other Snapdragon versions. (I cannot test this as I don't have any of the other models). If you do try it and the ROM works on your version, please post this so that others can try it out.
The ROM is based on DPH1.
Kernel is included within the ROM.
You will need TWRP or CWM to flash the rom.
No your phone does NOT need to be rooted to flash the ROM, but after installation your phone will be rooted automatically.
NOT WORKING:
Fingerprint (Hardware not compatible)
AOD still slightly buggy.
Earlier build (V3) included: (ported from N910G)
No SIM card error fixed
No data error fixed
Bluetooth fixed
Tethering fixed
Sound Mod
Latest build (V10) include:
AOD modded. (Display still darkens in bright light when AOD is active)
Added Essential Apps
Added Missing Calculator from original ROM
Fixed S Cover issue (I can't test, let me know if it works)
Stability issues fixed
Neatened up homescreen for clean flash.
Download Link: https://mega.nz/#!p8JXhDZT!VBf7BV3Tjw20SanE_B8dtG10XXfA7yPnAFlB1f6ywYw
As always a clean flash is recommended but a dirty flash should be fine if your'e running an existing Aurora ROM.
NOTE - Due to many changes, installation can take up to 20 minutes - 30 minutes (Samsung Logo), especially on a dirty flash. This is normal.
The handset will also restart once during installation.
Let me know if it works for you and don't forget to press the thanks button.

REV11
Please find updated revision 11 below.
Apologies for not being able to update sooner. Been away on business and will still be away for a few more weeks.
AOD still buggy and fingerprint not working.
A few small updates have been included and kernel updates to rev3.
I tried to include the AOD fix but have unfortunately not had time time to implement.
A few items have been fixed and updated.
If you still find Note 4 Camera, delete folder SamsungCamera3 under system priv-app folder and restart.
Changelog:
Camera Updated to Note 7 Camera
Supersu Updated
Several (most) apps updated to latest version
Kernel Updated
Removed Chinese writing on weather app.
Several stability issues fixed.
Cheers

ps. a workaround working for aod dimming screen in direct sunlight is to install xposed and sensor disabler to fake light sensor to always read a minimum brightness level. so the phone thiks you're in very dark enviroment , that's avoid screeen dimmin also when you're in direct sunlight. tested on previous xrom port

How is battery life
Battery life is always difficult to discuss as there are so many things one has to take into account. I myself use my phone extensively, and even then I get around 9 hours out of it. BUT that does not mean you will get the same. SOT (Screen on time) affects it obviously. I myself switch off WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth when I'm not using it. Your battery condition and age will also affect it as many don't want to believe.
Hi dev are u have solved my problem... im using aurora and norma rom for my Galaxy S5 prime.. for Norma everything work is so well... but if i to trying install aurrora rom or base rom.. i always dont have data conection and phone unfortunately forced stop information pop up.. flashing all data fix variant cant help... sorry for my bad english.. i really need to flash this rom hope you have a solution sorry for my bad english.. thx
Flashed clean, some impressions:
Spen magnifier function, open but is not working(no zoom inside zoom box)
AOD still buggy, still lowering screen brightness when unlocking the screen
wallpaper choice works only via gallery not via theme store (if you choice gallery it return back to theme store first page)
more to come...
Anyway, 910f best version, one zip file, one flash and you have all ready to go (apart some minor issues stated above)
Many thanks to the op that is sharing with us this nice piece of rom!

New rom repacked let me know if better or worse I'll give it one more shot if its worse lol, but am waiting for N for our devices just like you. Just wanted the community to feel Nougat that wasn't Chinese firmware. I'm waiting for the release too so I can update the Lineage 14.1 drivers and ramdisk and kernel. I'm afraid if I do that now, a bit will change when its available via ota and make my work moot.

Hi @travis82, The rom works so far so good, just one question, why the samsung theme store is in Chinese, and it ask for phone, contact, and storage access. I flashed Dave's auroa N before yours, but I did format the data. so I'm wondering if the theme store is embended in the rom? And why the app's name displays in Chinese?
thanks,

Is there anywhere to find old versions of beta?

14.6 flat out doesn't work for me. 14.5 works but has a looping logcat issue that generates around 30gb of logs a day and drains battery in a hurry. Works ok for me, but won't work for my wife's phone (having her go in once every day or two to clear the logs is a non-starter). 14.37 is reported by some as working without the issue, but I can't find it anywhere. I attempted a build from source, however there is an issue with the sub module pull of SE linux for that tag, so I'm unable to build it myself. 14.0 isn't an option as it won't install on an Essential PH-1.
The segfault with v14.6 on Essential phones is known. No idea if it can be fixed though. Let's hope so...
Meanwhile, you can find old release on GitHub.

Since I'm not a dev and I'm on my phone and have the exact same problem (Magisk tell me to update to 14.6 and it cause bootloop, I have flah my phone with a backup to unbrick it), do you know where to find a useable version of Magisk 14.5, like you download and flash and it works?
And why do the dev erase old beta versions? It makes things complicated for no reasons... Magisk 14.5 was the only one to work on my phone. 14 don't works and 14.6 creates bootloop.

@Uzephi do you have downloads for twrp?
this is great news i was playing with the vendor partition on these phone and was not able to get the gsi to load until i started modding the version of twrp i was running with red wolf recovery additions. it booted but was not usable as the device did not like something in my work around and gave up on it i was just going to wait for the Z3 but now i think this phone will stay in my pocket even longer.

Check erfanoabdi's AFH. All his experimental releases are there. There is a treble one (a bunch of stuff broken, on back burner for now) and one that supports password decryption. Cannot flash current builds with it though.
Edit: warning. Experimental means no support and most likely things are broken, like flashing ROMs explained for the test twrp. It does decrypt 8.1 ROMs correctly though
Looks like an experimental build has been posted.

I've been using LOS for quite a bit now, and it's great, and to answer your question, YES, it is better than stock, battery life is better, smooth and responsive, the only drawback for some people, is that audio motomods don't work on the ROM and probably never will, but highly recommended if you want a clean android experience.

I would not be so pessimistic on that. There's a small but possible chance, once they force the Treble on, that someone else may be able to figure out the Audio Motomods.
Flashed Nightly 15.1 following steps in their official website and ended up with a brick....But I found a blankflash through port 9008 to recover.
It`s possible that I missed the fastboot -w step.

Unless motorola releases the audio drivers for their motomods, I find it kinda impossible, because it seems that those drivers are closed source, treble will help with future development but I really doubt we'll see audio mods working.
I was using the last nightly until yesterday when I found out that the microphone on video calls was not working, so I had to come back to stock.

Flashed Nightly 15.1 following steps in their official website and ended up with a brick....But I found a blankflash through port 9008 to recover.
It`s possible that I missed the fastboot -w step.

Me too, but I got it working following other AOSP installs.
Flashall
Bootloader and then Fastboot into TWRP
Wipe Cache, Data, System
Install to A
Install to B
Reboot to Bootloader, run the fastboot -w
(optional) Fastboot into TWRP, Install GAPPs
(optional Magisk)
Boot into the system, do not add your accounts or anything.
Skip past everything, only selecting the reporting and bug logs you want on.
Boot back into the Bootloader, and fastboot TWRP
Install Magisk, and preferably go to Magisk Manager and Magiskhide Google Play Store and Google Framework Services before adding accounts.

Well, that might've been an experiment release? I know the July 3rd one is a nightly.
Anyone able to get volte working on the latest nightly (20180703)?
