Cover cases and glass screen protectors... - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Hi, couldn't find anything about Samsung galaxy s7 edge cover cases compatibility with glass screen protectors.
Is very strange that people don't wont to protect their phone (that already in the case) with tempered glass screen protectors...
I know that good quality cover case (both sides) will give good enough protection but.. is very normal that phone needs cleaning sometimes and not always you will have in your pocket a peace of cloth for cleaning phone screens. I may clean against may trousers or jacket, etc. For that I'll need glass protection.
Any idea? which cases will support glass protectors and I'm talk now about cases that are fully coves your phone including original Samsung cases.

This thread is a discussion about glass screen protectors and if they work with cases.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/accessories/curved-tempered-glass-screen-protector-t3320688
Most do not work well with cases due to them being pushed up at the corners so everyone is waiting to see if better ones come out.

I thought that the thread you gave me link is only for glass screen protectors and almost nobody discuss a part of having two things - Fully covered cover + Glass scree protector.

I was simply pointing you to the main thread about the glass screen protectors. The main thing to take away from that is the fact that there are no good glass screen protectors yet based on the numerous reviews. Those issues won't change with a fully covered cover.

So far the best choice for a case compatible with glass screen protector seems to be Spigen Thin Fit and Ringke Air.
Anyone knows if Ringke Fusion Crystal View and Samsung Clear Cover are glass screen protector friendly?

Both Samsung Clear View and Samsung LED View covers work fine with TGSP.

What you think about Ringke Fusion? Could that work too?

Hi peeps, I've got the Galaxy S7 Edge Case Crystal Shell, waiting for the amazingthing to come back in stock at eBay will then order and report back

Hard to tell mate. Looks like it may be OK. Just realised the Ringke I have tested with TGSP is the Ringke Air.

I've settled on the AMAZINGthing TGSP, and will be ordering it as soon as it comes back into stock. But does anyone know if a case like the Speck Candyshell Grip would work? Iv'e considered getting the Spigen thin fit, but ideally wanted something that offered a bit more protection - anyone got any suggestions?

Don't think it will be compatible. It's hard to tell. Also retract my comment above about the Ringke being ok. Looking again at my cases it depends heavily on top and bottom.
If you can tell from the photos, it's the cases which sort of "hug" the edges by a mm or two as opposed to those overlap by a few more mm on to front glass.

Close up.
That's what you have to consider when choosing a case if you want compatibility with protectors.

Those 4 tested by you that are OK in the pictures above what model are they? I suppose one is Samsung Clear View Cover, one is Samsung Clear Cover and another Spigen Thin Fit, right? The fourth I don't know.

Someone had a review on his gpell and it fit the commuter just wondering if the amazingthing will achieve the same

Poetic Revolution and Supcase Unicorn beetle pro cases should fit. as the top layer of cases go over the top of the screen protector not lifing it up. 2 part cases on amazon both under 20 bucks.

Does anybody have tried Casemate Tough Case with glass screen protector?

Does this FlexHD cover Edge2Edge? I was just looking at this on Amazon....ordered a case just now....now looking for a screen protector that will cover the entire glass...
I too have been spoiled by tempered glass screen protectors.... It's the best IMO and I have it on my Note 4 now.....
I had a hunch that it was too early to tell if anyone had one available (tempered glass that will cover the entire screen on the S6 Edge....end to end...) .....and found this....

the Spigen advertises "Full coverage" so yeah, i'd say Edge to edge coverage.
for now, i would stay away from buying any Tempered glass for the Edge version until there are some reviews, because it's very difficult to make a piece of glass to be exactly precise so it sticks to the phone. for the Note Edge there were a few glass options but they all had problems because the glass bend has to be extremely exact otherwise it will lift.

It's definitely edge to edge. I, too, have been spoiled with tempered glass screen protectors and will purchase one when I find someone who gives a solid review on it.

Rear glass protector

Hey guys, has anyone found a plastic or glass protector for the back of the Note 5? I've had no luck at all! I've got a clear case coming in the mail to cover the phone and I already have a plastic protector that covers the front, but I'd rather not use a case at all.
I plan on using a clear plastic/glass protector on the front and back of the phone and then get the Rhino Shield Crash Guard bumper for the edges. As far as I know the Rhino Shield isn't out yet. Would be awesome to find a clear thin plastic bumper case too!

I am with you on this one, I found just one protector for the back: "Xtremeguard" but the review for it are terrible,

I have this. Ringke fusion case comes with front and back. Back is not edge to edge but it does cover across the flat part in back and is cut out for the camera and flash. Suppose to cut out the "rainbow" effect u get from some of the clear back cases. Its definately a case to check out if u are one of us guys who like to have a couple different cases. Its prob my favorite one out of the 3 i have. It was definately my favorite s6 case

Zagg HD friendly case

After searching for a good screen protector I've settled on the zagg HD. I have the spigen slim fit case being delivered tomorrow but are there any other cases that will work with it that offer full cover protection( slim fit leaves the buttons exposed)? Appreciate any help. Thanks
The thin fit one like ringke slim, spigen thin fit and the official Samsung clear case are the only ones I was able to use with the zagg hd. Yes the buttons are exposed on the spigen thin fit.
Seidio Surface, VRS Layered Dandy, VRS Damda Clip, and the Caseology Series (Provided you aligned the protector very well, e.g. it's not on one side more than the other).

For some weird reason I went into an Amazon trance and bought more than 10 cases for the S7 Edge, and I also have a Zagg HD Dry on my phone.
Echo the notion that the Caseology Envoy case won't lift a properly applied HD Dry. Also the Obliq Flex Pro caused me no issue. Of the two, I'd give the slight protection edge (heh) to the Obliq. The Case-Mate Naked Tough also did not intrude on the screen-protector, but I rate that case at minimal protection and more for style.
The following cases did mess with the corners of my Zagg, which I have subsequently mitigated by carefully trimming the film away from the very ends of the top two corners.
Speck Candy Shell Grip
Spigen Crystal Shell
Spigen Tough Armor
(All awesome cases, BTW)
A couple more extreme-protection cases were split with respect to this; the i-Blason Prime Dual Layer Holster case will interfere with it, and the (Supcase branded) big-brother the Unicorn Beetle Pro - with it's front bezel design - is the best here, appearing not to cause even a full-coverage (not trimmed) Zagg to peel on the phone, as I tested it with my wife's fully intact Zagg HD Dry.
Just my anecdotal observations on the topic.

Right. Somebody, quick, tell my wife that.
Anyway, our path's crossed sooner than I thought today, due to a school-function schedule change, and I have her shiny gold S7 Edge in my hand right now. After about 10 hours with the Obliq case on it there is no lift on any of the four corners of the Zagg HD Dry on the screen.
You want pics, or are you good?

Ringke fusion s7 edge case
I have the ringke fusion and the edge of the case doesn't even make to the edge of the screen and the has really good flaps that cover/insert into the power and headphone jacks. Its perfect for a screen protector and it comes with a slim screen protector for the back so the is none of the wierd bubble effect that some clear cases make.
Got the obliq flex pro today and it works great with the zagg HD. I'm happy for now as the phone is now fully covered.

What screen protector to combine Spigen Rugged Armor with

I really like the Spigen Rugged Armor Case for OP3 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A2SFKRF5TPZMT5
But I'm worried the tempered glass i want to get won't go well with it. The Yootech one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A3KGQHS00G2MDY
Should i just go for a regular screen protector since the case already has some leap in front? Like the ArmorSuit one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A3LQSX85N730QN
Need to order them soon. Replies will be appreciated.
I had the non TG from yootech and it was trash. Didn't stick well left tons of adhesive on the top of screen protector after peeling the top layer off.
Still waiting for something with decent reviews, but now I don't even have the OEM protector on.

I am worried about those tempered glass protectors to be honest. Anything that causes air bubbles or rainbow effect, i will rip off quickly i'm sure
I'm probably just going to get another plastic screen protector and use that til a good TG one comes out. I really like the rugged armor case too and don't plan to use anything else except maybe the neo hybrid spigen case.

Yep i'm in the same boat. Currently using spigen with stock screen protector as well. I usually dont care about the front glass as I am with the back but I recently found some people had their display broke so i'm a bit nervous about that.

I would get that, but don't want to lose even 5mm of screen space. It's not a big deal, but it would annoy me.
The phone feels and looks great with the Rugged Armor case so I don't wanna buy another just so I can use Tempered Glass. I'd just keep the OEM protector on until TG compatible with this case comes out.

This is why i opted for the Neo Hybrid instead of the TPU Rugged Armor. Because i need more protection if i got only a plastic protector on.

Best Thin Cases

Has anyone tried some new thin cases? The Note 8 is a slim sexy phone. It sucks to put it in a thick bulky case. Show us what y'all have in thin cases.
I bought these 3
The first one was from Best Buy and I like it alot and its the one I use the most. Nothing fancy just a thin case TPU soft in the hands.
The second one I got off of eBay it's blue with a clear acrylic back. Don't get that one the cut out for the finger print scanner is to small. I cut it out some more to make it work. It's a ok case if you don't mind cutting it yourself.
The third one is from Ghostek it's 40 dollars it has a aluminum frame and a acrylic clear back. It's still a little thick for me but a damn well built case. I did not even use it I am going to sell this one.

Ok here is two more that came in today. Both are so so.
The first on I got off of ebay. They made it sound like the end caps were metal. Which they are not they are cheap looking plastic. But it's ok
The second one I got from Amazon. I like it but don't think it has much drop protection. Thin thin thin.
I got the Spigen Neo Hybrid, I am very happy with it so far. The tpu layer is stiffer than most tpu layers I've used before, which feels nice, and the metal trim, while thin and a bit more pliant than I would prefer, looks great. Fortunately I haven't dropped it, but it feels like it would survive most reasonable falls. It's much thinner than my wife's otter box commuter and only $15 on amazon.
I got the Spigen ultra hybrid crystal clear case, and I live it. Have bought these before, they don't yellow and last a long time. Great for letting my dbrand Dragon skin show !!
