Ballistic PERFECTION - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

This ballistic leather case is perfect. I've always preferred leather back covers. Always sacrificed protection, just because it was proffesional and classy looking. Burkley, Qialino, & Tetded basically I've had every flagship phone from Samsung and LG fir the last 4 years. I have 7 lines I pay for (wife & kids) so dammit I use all the upgrades, then pass phone down the line. Every 5 or 6 months when I get ready to get a new phone, I ALWAYS start looking to see if there is anyone else making something better...
This time BALLISTIC of all people had this leather case that interested me. They do an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE job displaying the case on the website, they state it was their thinnest ever case, but in my mind it would be BALLISTIC huge. I took a chance and bought it. So glad I did.
First, it's thin. Super thin. Like perfect man. I had the Naked Tough and it's less obtrusive than that. Plus the still have their corners integrated in, and they do not look anything but stylish and flow well with the case. It's rated at 6ft like all there cases too. The lip, which is another area of contention for me with these leather back cages is the exact perfect size. Keeps my screen elevated very well if I sit it face down. Some cases I've had would elevate screen no more the high enough fir paper to move freely. That's pointless to me, a grain of sand would still scratch the hell out of it. Not this case. I'm telling you as far as security and protection go, I do not see how any slim case could do more than this. PERFECTION.
Now the leather. The ENTIRE back is leather. Just the bottom and top edges are rubber and they are a part of the piece that makes the corners. The leather and rubber blend SEAMLESSLY. I'm telling you I do not see how this could have been done any better. Ballistic says they used what they call a "buffalo leather" and it feels very supple, but is very durable thus far.
This case is dang near perfect. If you like classy leather backs, do yourself a favor, buy this.

Um, got pics? Link to their site for purchase?

Yea, let's see some "Real" pictures of this case.
I also believe that the leather is fake leather but still looks like an interesting case.

Well they say they are using "Prwmium" materials on this line. The call it Buffalo leather. I believe it's real. Get it on Ebay though. I paid 16 bucks. On Ballistics website it's 40

Please post some Pictures..............................

Pics or it didn't happen

On ebay chaise I saw would be about 30$ US

I don't see it for anywhere close to $16. The cheapest I see if $24, and other sellers are $30 to $40. If you really payed $16, I suspect you got a knock off.

Guess I'm just going to have to order so we can see some real pictures of this case.

Ordered one up, should have it by the end of the week. Not available for $16.00 though.

tiny70thomas is 100% correct about this case. Got it in today and I actually love the case. It adds hardly any bulk to the phone and feels great in the hand. The power/volume buttons are just as good as the Speck candyshell grip if not better. Not sure how much drop protection it would provide and it's nothing more then a thin rubber case with thick corners. I'm almost 100% sure the leather is not real but non the less it feels great. Here are some "Real" pictures of this Ballistic Urbanite base in Buffalo Leather. I like it !

I am sorry but that looks terrible....

It is alright but what kinda turns me off is the texture. If it was less coarse-looking, like the OEM Samsung leather case, it would've appealed to me more.

[Q] Thinnest Case?

Hi,
I am looking for a case that adds minimal bulk to the device. I would prefer something with a soft-touch finish, but not necessarily silicone.
So far, I have looked at the Seidio Surface, the SGP Ultra Silke, and the Rearth Ringke.
Does anyone know from experience which of these cases is thinnest?
Also, has anyone found other cases that will retain the slimness of the phone?
Thanks.
I dont know from experience but from reading these forums the incipio feather case maybe be the slimmest. Its hard case that snaps on but doesnt cover the top or bottom of the phone. I do got the Rearth Ringke which is awesome. The fit is great.

Thanks for the reply. Is the Rearth Ringke relatively slim as well?
Also interested in a slim case.
Its really not that bad. The fit is great and the texture it has is a nice touch. It has enough grip to keep it from slipping but slippery enough to keep lent and fingerprints off.

^That's good to know.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for slim cases?
you could get these if you would consider a skin http://www.adreama.com/products/mobile-phone-skins/samsung/nexus-s
they're pretty damn thin, give good grip, protects the outside of your phone from scratches, and you get two so you can pick which color you prefer
I wish case mate would make a barely there case. There seems to be a huge demand for it.
incipio case quite slim, soft, and sexy.. the only drawback is it's quite fragile. my friend bought it awhile ago, he had SOD (sleep of death) many times using netarchy kernel and he had to remove the case to remove the battery. after a few remove, the case start to get loose and finally the case gave up and broke..

This seems interesting. I have found several cases identical to this on eBay for as little as $3 (like this andthis).
The material seems different than other TPU cases, and is just what I am looking for. Anyone else have a case similar to this (TPU, but with matte-finish rubberized rear)?

that second one looks just like the black one that you get in the two pack I posted. I actually think that the black one looks really bad with a black phone, but that's just my opinion.
I have the incipio feather case (black) and love it. Soft touch, great grip, and best of all no fingerprints. Not a tacky rubberized feel that sticks to everything (lint, hair). There is a little space at the top and bottom that isn't covered (bottom for port access) but it looks great. very slim. I bought the standard black case that best but had available on launch day and the crappy rubbery screen protector. Couldn't stand either one and dug out my g1 sleeve cover.
Bought the incipio because I hate the slick back of the phone. Been using it ever since.
I would disagree that it is fragile. I take it off and put it back on at least once a week and haven't had any loosening or breakage (after several months of use). Thing is still rock solid and fits perfectly snug.
hopefully this is helpful.
edit: although it is very thin and adds very little bulk, it is noticeable. With the case on, my phone no longer fits in my g1 sleeve and this makes me kind-of a sad panda.

How is your overall experience with the two-pack case that you posted? Does it add too much bulk to the device, or attract dust/lint?

Thanks so much for the detailed review. I appreciate the input.
The Feather seems to be a promising alternative to the other cases, mainly because I love the soft touch finish.

I actually think that the phone fits better in my hand with the case on. i'm not worried that i'm going to snap it in half on accident and it's only the tiniest bit bulkier than it normally would be.
I seem to notice little hairs and stuff accumulating right where the case stops, but it's easy enough to either wipe them off without removing the case or to just pull the case off and clean around the edges. overall, I think it's a great case. I added some before and after pictures so you could see how little bulk there is.
I also have the Incipio Feather Case and agree with discussion above. Actually have 2 for 2 phones.
Black is matte finish. Teal is not, but its not a hard, shiny plastic feel. I really like it, questioned buying but so tired of black (their other colors are
very bright, way too much for a mother of 3).
I was looking for the thinnest case possible and feel this is it.
The top and bottom is open so won't protect there, but has the corners.
The thing I love the most is the grip, felt the phone was too slick and just
waiting to drop. This solved that. I do not feel it is fragile, don't take off
that much, but have no problems using fingernail. It is tight, but that is good.
Would highly recommend. And if shopping on Ebay, there are some for $20
shipped. It states Nexus S (not specific for 4g, even on the box when you
receive it), but if it is Incipio, not knock off, it works.
sgp case is very good

Comparison: Seidio Case + Holster

There two different Cases, the Active case & Surface case.
Does anyone have any of the two? I'd like some thoughts about the cases
because I'm most likely to jump into one of these cases, since I think ballistic
cases are too big & bulky but I had the infuse 4g so that had something to
do with it too =P
-Edit-
Seido Holster case
Here's an even better case, it's almost the same price, and it comes with a kickstand.. i wish i saw this before i purchased the pt holster case ):
I got the Seidio Surface.
Very beautiful case. Its very thin, believe its just 1mm thick.
Feels very nice to the touch, easy to put on... easy to take out.
Nice access to all buttons.
However, since its so thin and all that stuff, not sure its good for protection. Probably just minor? I got it more for aesthetics reasons because I love that sapphire blue.
However, still offers some protection over not having a case, but obviously less than a more bulky case like my old Case-Mate Pop.
Basically, everything about the surface feels and looks nice.
Thank you! I want to get the Surface one too because I mainly just want the holster.. the case is just an added bonus lol.. the fact that it looks very simple and doesn't add too much bulk is a plus to me too
Just an FYI, but Best Buy sells the exact same case as the Surface Combo. It is branded for Best Buy but it is the same. It is an excellent case IMO.
Hey thanks for the heads up.. i did check into it and saw how similar they both are.. i might just end up buying it since shipping might take a while. Thank you

Just got the platinum series with holster from bestbuy. Its a great case, does not add too much bulk. The front edges are slim so it does not interfere when you slide your fingers. And I got it for 30 dollars it was initially 35 but if you get a best buy rewards card they will do a 20% discount
I agree its a really nice case

I have the surface case with kickstand and holster combo like the one in the ebay link above. Just two nights ago i dropped my thrill out of my truck window doing 55mph and it only scratched the corners of the whole case and around the kickstand. i had just got the phone replaced due a manufacturing defect so i thought i was screwed and just destroyed my phone. thankfully it is still in mint condition because of the case.

[Q] Decent Nexus S Case?

I've been searching all around for a decent case for my new phone. I want something that will give it minor drop protection, isn't bulky and doesn't look ugly. Locally I don't have much of a selection but the two I've been looking at are the adreama case and the incipio feather case. Does anyone have any suggestions or have tried either of those cases?
I have the incipio feather. I bought it only so I could lay my phone down without fear of scratching my camera or backplate. It offers little to no drop protection. But can barely tell its there if you like a minimalist approach.
I have a rocketfish case I got at best buy. I was looking for exactly the same thing you are. It's a rubbery case but the outside is hard coated, as are the edges so it doesn't stretch or stick. It's all black and molds to the phone. I really love mine.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketf...lack/2494399.p?id=1218330754572&skuId=2494399
Any cheap TPU case will do. Can't see myself plopping over 10$ for a case, and definitely don't like the so said protection of "hard" cases they sell just about everywhere. Next thing you know the case blows into 1 billion tiny pieces or just breaks away from your phone at the most minor drop.
This from SGP is very nice, and comes with a first rate screen protector.
http://www.sgpstore.com/sgp-google-nexus-s-case-ultra-silke-series.html.
I just bought this one:
http://goo.gl/fktZi
Very happy with it. Makes the phone feel very solid. It does add some bulkiness, but it's worth it because the case feels great to hold.
This is the one I use, I have had it on it since day one. Reminds me of an otterbox, but half the price and not nearly as bulky.
Bump for Incipio, have one in blue, one in teal and its subdued. Does offer protection, least bulk I could find and love it.
Thanks for everyones responses, I think I'm going to settle on the Feather case. One more question, is it necessary to have a screen protector? I'm generally pretty safe with screens, I managed to have all of my iPod screens live without a scratch so far but I'm not sure how much this screen will be able to manage.
I have the Incipio thin feather case. Its as low as $16.95 on Ebay and is super thin, sexy, and sleek. Just be prepared to beat women off of you. They come runnin'. lol
Google Nexus S Pop! Cases
This case is a great addition to my Sprint Nexus - S. It was very easy to put the phone in the case basically just running one's thumbnail around the edge will make sure the phone is in tight and well sealed.
The case 'elevates' the phone's glass off of a surface when placing the phone face down. Plus, the rubber edge makes a nice satisfying and 'rubbery' thunk, and you know it just won't slide around!

I had a TPU case and then got the Rearth Ringke case, and the Ringke case is much better. Retains thinness of the phone, looks sleek and feels great in the hands. Worth looking into.
Incipio Feather is awesome. I'm less worried about protection and more worried about how slippery this phone is. The case gives it grip and looks alright too.

+1 for incipio feather. Just picked myself up one.. won't offer much drop protection but it's a sleek slim case.
I have never been one for cases, but I purchased the Incipio Feather and I haven't had the need to take it off. Love the damn thing.
Hope that helps.
another +1 for incipio feather. just got mine yesterday, great case. and i think it would actually offer some drop protection, at least if it landed on a corner or back.
if you need to access the back of the phone frequently though, to change battery or sim, forget this case. it fits really really well, and would be a pain to take off all the time imho.

A screen protector is a must have, there are no arguments against it.
You can get already 3 protectors in high quality for 1.77$!
And im not a fan of any case, smartphones are thick enough and you take it off after a while anyways.

Nexus 7 really needs a back case?

Its an accessories related question and i hope its ok to ask here. I just received my Nexus 7 32GB and loving it! As what i would do usually, I immediately started looking for back cases / covers / pouches for this lovely device and then I tought, does it really need one? The material at the back doesnt look like the one that could easily be scratched. But then I see so many cases around and people using them. Maybe to better protect the device when/if it falls? I dont like folio cases anyway and only buying a back case looks like a waste.
Any suggestions?

It can get scratched. I have mine in a case almost all the time and I found a scratch on mine somehow
While it's not essential, I'd still go with a case, because you just never know what may befall your new shiny tablet. Since a lot of cases on the market appear to be cheap and ugly, buy something that is well built and from quality materials. This may set you back $50 or more, but trust me, it's well worth it. The tablet will just feel better in your hand, more secure, and you won't have to worry about the screen being scratched or it getting dinged on the side.
Ever since I got my Norever leather case I like the way my N7 feels way more than it does without it.
If you're only interested in a "back case" then I would consider the Incipio Feather. Here's my review. The Feather did come with a screen protector, but I'm with the others in this thread and I would just go with a full case to protect the whole thing.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The Feather was provided to me by Incipio for the purpose of review. I do not receive any compensation for my reviews.
Protection required
I would have to agree that i enjoy having my nexus out of a case . I like the feel of the back and for me it would not get scratched as im careful.. But I use it while im out and about all the time.. I have almost dropped it a few times.I think if you drop this device and it hits the edge of bezel The screen will crack. So i recommend having a nice case . For me i have the bobjgear silicone case . It does add bulk and the nice look of the device . But it provices alot of protection.

Well, having dropped my N7 twice, I can attest to getting a case for the Nexus lol. Both drops were from at least 3 feet and the first one went down rolling to the sidewalk from my truck in my Treegloo case. The N7 came unscathed but the Treegloo had an indentation that could barely notice. The second fall was in the garage cement floor. This time the fall was straight down back side down and went SPLAT. I freaked!:silly: and immediately took it out and found it turned on fine and the glass was uncracked. So I went inside and put the N7 down but noticed the cover didn't sit flush like it normally did, so I took the N7 out of the case and saw the backing corners were coming undone and I had to press down to re-snap them back into the corners again.
Now the treelgoo has been semi-retired now that I have the Seidio Active case on. It works because I now also use the Kropsson Aero modded universal car mount and using the treegloo wouldn't work in that case.
Simply... Yes
as in the title yes, I have had a couple of small falls and one or two larger ones, and having the stock official ASUS ones may have saved it a lot of times, so getting any that will have some bump protection is a definite go ahead
call it insurance
I like the naked feel of the N7 in my hand. It's just right. The options available are all over the map. Those folding contraptions remind me of the old paper maps that I could never get right. The armored ones look like two handers and you are going to drop test it because it's a job just to handle all that bulk. I'm going with a leather YooMee pouch [correction: they call it a sleeve] for transport purposes and working the N7 raw.
Noticed Otterbox just announced the Defender series for the N7.
I like Otterbox but $70 is too expensive for a plastic case. Hell, you get a hand made leather Noreve case for $72.

You're right about that. I figure once things settle down they'll run in the $50 neighborhood. Still, as much as I love Otterbox, I'm afraid it will add too much bulk and that's entirely too much for a stand.
I've had all sorts of adventures with my nexus 7, and to be honest back plate is as good as new, the silver border however is a different story.
I went with a Cruzerlite TPU case $19 doesn't add any bulk really comes in all colors with cool design on the back (they are the androids)

Something like the Poetic Slimline, but better quality?

I really like the functionality of the Poetic Slimline case for my Nexus 7. The tri-fold cover, magnetic closure, light weight and thinness are great. What is not so great is the quality of the materials and construction.
Has anyone found a case of similar design and functionality, but of better quality? Real leather, better fit and finish? Anything better out there?

I am wondering the same thing. I am going to be getting a nexus 7 soon so I have been trying to pick out a case. I like everything about the poetic slimline except all that is holding me back is all the reviews talking about the poor build quality and it falling apart.

I too have Poetic Slimline, and I have not liked the build quality from the first time I laid my eyes on it on Xmas day.
The Speck case looks a lot better, but I would prefer the magnetic latches of the Poetic over the manual latch of the Speck. Other than that, the Speck would be a no brainer.
The Moko also looks like it has a few straps that would anoy me.
I literally want a non-crappy built Poetic Slimline and I would be happy.
i say get the nillkin, exotek or MoKo.
(ive got the MoKo)
One interesting thing about the Moko, it looks like you might be able to slide it into a dock while leaving it in the case, but that would need tested. You would just let the flaps lay behind the dock if they would bent correctly without interfering.
I just ordered the Speck about an hour ago.

Can you do a video review of this?
I am very skeptical because the Poetic Slimline use external magnets on both sides of the case to keep the cover closed because if they only have magnets on the cover, it will be too strong and will turn off the device when the cover is flipped to the back. And if the magnets on the cover is just right, then I really doubt it will keep the cover closed which will be a problem because when it flaps around it will keep turning the screen on and off...
Otherwise this look exactly like the Poetic Slimline but even smaller. (Doesn't mean it is better quality though).
Really interested in a review of this.
So are there actually any covers that are not leather, but rubber exterior? Something like these: https://www.hammerheadcase.com/
I don't get all the complaints about the poetic quality. Had mine for 2 months and its still perfect.

I also backed out from ordering a poetic slimline case because of some of the quality issues shown in the customer uploaded images on Amazon. Glue issues, fraying, etc... I'd also recommend against the trifold cover design as it is definitely more prone to toppling over.
If you want something similar and maybe a bit better for typing and other such use, the nicest I've seen was the Incipio Slim Kickstand Folio, but it isn't the most available case around. The good news is, it's basically the same case as the Speck FitFolio or Devicewear's the Ridge.
Speck's a more widely known brand, but I saw a few FitFolios, in a couple of stores, showing wear along their corners while still on shelves. The vegan leather material seemed a bit like an eraser from the ones I felt. I also didn't care for the harbor blue color when it came to the poly-shell against the color of the device, especially since it doesn't fully cover the back of your N7. I also didn't care for the clip, not that it doesn't have some use.
I went with Devicewear's The Ridge option myself. It's very slim. It has full shell coverage for the back of the N7 with holes for the mics (wifi). I believe there are three color options available. The outside leather is a bit less soft than the FitFolio, and it uses a soft stap to stay closed instead of a dangling clip. The sleep function works when it's supposed to, and doesn't when it's not supposed to.. I felt like I was taking a slight chance with it because a lot of the reviews seemed fake, but so far its been a very good case.
Don't sell the Poetic Slimline short
Gotta be honest, been using the poetic slimline case for a couple of weeks now, and I must have got insanely lucky or something, becase I really dont have any complaints. Doesn't really add much heft to the device (I came from an HTC flyer, and even with the case this is slimmer and lighter than the flyer was bare) provides decent protection, doesn't get in my way, and (after trimming a few little threads off the cover with a razor knife) has continued to look awesome regardless of my poor treatment of it. I think cases are up to personal opinion in the end, but I for one will certainly not complain about the poetic. Just another opinion.

It's smart. It's the case I use. Pleather covered cheap metal (my guess, could be plastic) that grips the Nexus in 6 places, the corners and midpoint of each short side. You slip the tablet out of the 2 bottom most corners and then sit it one of the slots in the lid of the case to use it like a stand. Pretty much how all of this sort of case works. But no it's not as thin as a true smart cover lid. OTOH the lid has a lip that clips over the Nexus to keep it closed and is thicker offering more protection and even an elastic grip to hold the tablet in portrait orientation.
