Cyanogenmod 13 for the HTC One M8s (m8ql_ul) - One (M8s) General

Good news, everyone: people are reporting that Android 6 has been released for the One M8s. And after giving it some thought, I decided to work on the CM13 port!
First thing I need is the RUU, preferably the unbranded one with Android 6 for the M8s. Does anyone know if this is available somewhere?

@El-Conkistador do you know if the RUU for Marshmallow is available already?

I started work on it again after I heard about the OTA as well, but the problem is there is no way to access the inside of OTA dat files. If you want you can look at the work I have done on here https://github.com/BackupWildfireDEV. The new work I will be doing should appear on the repos in my personal account. I am yet to start pushing my new commits but will do soon.
Therefore we need to wait for a RUU or stock dump from someone running it to come out before doing anything else more.

Hello, you can actually access dat files. Search for the binary sdat2img. THis will help you create an img file and you can sudo mount it anywhere

No for the moment. The OTA are available only

Hey Guys, that's nice news to read.
Maybe this can save my device from being sold after it's back from service (power button doesn't work anymore)
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll find a way to port cm13
Sent from my One using XDA-Developers mobile app

You can do that. Sure.

keeping track, cant wait for cm13, could it be put out using Cyanogenmod OTA when done?

hello all,
Does anybody know if S-off is possible for this device. I can't find any RUU to make it work, always give some kind of errors. Maybe I have corrupted something trying all this RUU's. Don't know.
Yes, I have done all the steps correctly, relock-bootloader, use stock image saved during recovery at first time, but was always failed, was something related with signature, now is too late. I can fix only with RUU for MM or S-OFF.
CID MID are all ok, HTC__032 and 0PKV10000
So from what I read on the other from M8 (real one, not this clone ) it looks like to be able to return full stock we gonna need S-OFF.
@El-Conkistador At one of your uncrypted image I see something wrong (0PKVIMG_M8_QL_UL_L50_SENSE60_HTC_Europe_1.16.401.10_Radio_1.0.U20410.1%4050408_15.00_016_F_release_450409_combined_signed_UNCRYPTED).
I think the file is corrupted, because I can't take out system.img. Also your md5 point to other file. If you want I have also an OTA received at 1.16.401.1 to 1.16.401.10 release 448030. Don't know if it did came without errors, but at his verification it pass, and I also can extract all zip from it, can't installed because of my problems. @voidzero Congratulation for your CM12.1 rom. Is going very good.
I hope you succeed to make this CM13 same good if not even better.

There simply is no s-off for this device. The ruus are all valid. Maybe you're doing something wrong.
But most of all you are asking this is in wrong place. It's off topic for CM13 development. Did you see my 'return to stock' thread?

I friend ! My girlfriend have my old HTC M8S (I've the HTC 10 now). But for this problem you must use this RUU : https://ruu.lalleman.net/HTC_M8S(QL...1_15.00_016_F_release_434462_combined_signed/
The bootloader version are identicale. You have just use initialy the 1.11.401.1 with the OTA 1.11.401.10. It's not a problem. You lock the bootloader, you use this RUU. Your phone reboot with a stock ROM and you can flash the OTA (1.11.401.2), and the next OTA's (1.11.401.10 -> 1.21.401.1 -> 2.10.401.1).

If we do get cm13 then, would it be installed as a system update? as in would we have to start from scratch, reinstalling everything? or would it work normally like any other OTA, just installed via recovery

I'm uploading now the system image and boot for MM.
The sha1 check for system image match with the sha1 expected by the OTA step2, so it must give official stock system.
That can be sufficient for any of you to make your phone back to stock in MM this time.
The CID is for European version HTC__032 but it does have inside also HTC__001, HTC__102, "HTC__002, HTC__M27, HTC__A07, HTC__031, HTC__Y13
I will post a link to my Gdrive when the upload will be completed, I hope successful, I add a md5 of complete zip file to check if goes full.
Use it with caution and if you know how to.
Is extracted from twrp back-up, so you can easy full the recovery to restore this.
Probably it wants also the last firmware.zip installed to be able to start it, not sure.

Unable to update the rom to the las official update

Hi guys. I hope you could help me with your wisdom.
Trying to install the new froyo rom on my legend I get a problem like this:
Writing Boot:...
E:Error finishing BOOT:
E:Failure at line 80:
write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img
BOOT:
Installation aborted.
I know that it happends because y have 1 bad block. I cant believe that the boot partition has just the size it needs. Could I be able to install this update in the future with the S-OFF ?? Can I remap the boot partition to another working space ?
Please help!!
i have same problem. there is no chance.

As soon as kernel source is released we can work this out by recompiling it, separating some drivers from monolythic core thus making it a little bit smaller.
But as I said already (many times) this is hardware flaw that was there already at the production line of NAND chip so U should claim a new phone.

Someone said that he managed to make an OTA upgrade while he wasn't able to upgrade it with whitetigerdk's ROM.
You could try by flashing just boot.img from OTA:
boot into ClockworkMod recovery
adb push boot.img /
adb shell flash_image boot /boot.img (you can try several times)
...although original boot.img is 2512896 bytes and if you have one bad cell you are 22 kB short.
However (as I said too) there's another way... if we get S-OFF before kernel source, we can make boot partition a little bigger...

The only solution is to wait S-off

But it´s strange because yesterday i unrooted my Legend with vodafone UK.
And install the OTA with no issue.
I run official Froyo with no root.
Now i make a question, can i do root again?

[Q] Seeking PRI 2.65_003 (solved)

I think it comes with 2.32.651.2 OTA update, which I can't do because on a Sense ROM, going to 'About Phone' > 'System Updates' > doesn't work for my situation.
Does anyone have this file? Or guide me on how to get PRI 2.65_003 manually (not OTA)?
Resolved!
0 - create backup
1 - install ClockWork 2.5.0.7 (#2 wouldn't install with my 3.0.2.4)
2 - install NFX Sprint 2.31.651.7 STOCK ODEX with A2sd Update3
3 - update PRL manually with ##PRL# (since ##PRL# is removed with #4, I think?)
4 - install OTA_HeroC_Sprint_2.32.651.2 (thanks to jasonmaloney) <~~~ this was my missing link
5 - install RegawMOD Hero Rooter v1.3 (to root/install clockwork 3.0.0.5)
6 - create backup of Sense rom
7 - restore back aospCmod!
...and wipe, wipe, wipe.
General consensus on this is you'll have to nandroid, run a RUU (.7), accept the 651.2 OTA, re-root (unless you're s-off ), re-flash your recovery and then restore nand backup.
I just googled "2.32.651.2 OTA update."

Have you tried accepting the OTA while on the RUU or just on a rooted "Sense" ROM? If you haven't tried the RUU route it may be worth a shot. But as far as I know and as 24601 posted in the aospCMod thread, that 651.2 is only available OTA.

I would also suggest you send member oostah a PM, he has all kinds of crazy stuff, like a verizon radio image, and a PRL from the evo - he knows how to do it manually (I think) and some good ones to try. I would HIGHLY recommend you get an unlocked bootloader - aka "s-off" - BEFORE you do this stuff.

I just tried flashing the 2nd link, it tells me
E:No signature (175 files)
E:Verification failed
Is it because I'm using Amon_RA 1.7? I downgraded from CWM 3.0.2.4 just to flash nfx's stock 2.31.651.7 ROM
edit: is it meant to be flashed through fastboot?
tried it and it says FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)

These are the OTA updates you get when running stock. They're probably not going to work on other ROMs. They're signed by HTC, so you either need to use the stock recovery or turn off signature verification.

Yeah, I dealt with this last night tho the only advantage to having the latest PRI/PRL for me seems to be that I can say I have them. I didn't go the same route exactly as you, I used ruu and then did an ota. However it does seem that the pri will not update unless you upgrade from the *.7 to the *.2, as I had flashed the .2 many times by itself.
~maybe I set it too high...

These are the OTA updates you get when running stock. They're probably not going to work on other ROMs. They're signed by HTC, so you either need to use the stock recovery or turn off signature verification.

While flashing I'm getting the error that the zip file is missing system.img, I checked the file and it was there, redownloading now and will update.
**Update** Redownloaded, MD5 Checksum matches source, still having the same issue.
Just finished flash
Not that I was expecting anything different but no obvious changes.

If it fixes all the bugs related to this phone I wouldn't have minded if it was released in January

And here is the ota zip file!! ??

I am going to do a complete wipe and reinstallation to ensure the best chance of working.
We are good to go now. Manually flashed and it worked. Appears the issue is with Windows Technical Preview. Thanks!
You can flash/root with the Wug toolkit too.
I can connect to corporate wifi now. At least one bug is fixed for me.

I haven't done this in a while, do we need custom recovery to flash or can we flash this with stock recovery. I am completely stock with just an unlocked Bootloader.

If you are using the factory image, you can do it with the stock. Haven't done it using ota image so not sure about it.

HTC Desire 510 Bootloop

Hi,
i'm trying since 2 days to fix my phone, because i accidently deleted the backup from the SD Card, after falsly assuming it was the old one. What i got is a bootloop after trying to install DragonROM_Minimalist-1.2.9 via PhilzTouch recovery mode. I did the Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe delvik cache and clean for new rom before installing the zip. I have a rooted Kernel and Bootloader unlocked. I simply restarted the Phone after installing that ROM and it is stuck in bootloop.
I'm running a x64 HTC Desire 510 bought from Tesco and i have Windows 10 (also got Ubuntu installed on another partition, if that somehow helps)
I tried those RUU Files, but the Programm just keeps closing and nothing happens. (I have all vcredist packages installed)
I tried to download the kernel zip from the htc download site and apply it via fastboot flash zip, but that was a big fail to.
I tried unpacking the ROM from the RUU Programm and installing that via Flash zip, which gave me "FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)"
I tried to place (several different) 0PCVIMG.zip on the SD Card and rebooting to HBOOT, which gave an error that was to large for the screen
I found a total of about 4 Errors durings fastboot flash zip, such as remote 99, remote 42, etc...
I really don't know what to do now.. Anyone help?
It doesn't necessarily has to be to stock version, it would be perfect, if that ROM would work..

Every single one of those RUUs you mentioned AND ROMs are ALL 32 BIT!!
There IS a ROM somewhere on the forums that another user uploaded to help those on 64 bit at least get BACK to STOCK but you need to learn how to use the search bar to type HTC Desire 510 Stock E.U ROM.

you'll need to post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (dont post your imei/sn) so we can tell you how to update. The version shown in your picture isn't necessarily the same version you'll find in bootloader.
And may I add - it would be better if you took a picture of bootloader screen. That way we could have better idea of phone's state. Is the bootloader unlocked, real firmware version, s-on or s-off...
Hi guys, today i managed to get the needed info. Please see the attached pictures. PS; why is the CID 1111111? Does that mean that the phone has been rooted? And s-off?
Thank you guys in advance.

Your phone was messed with. Great thing it's s-off. Someone flashed a new h-boot over old firmware, that's why you can't receive updates.

Take a look at this thread, download 7.19.401.1 RUU.zip, and flash it, you have all instructions on the thread. That will update your phone to Lollipop

Full stock will give you a fully stock Android, but it will wipe everything from your phone, so you might want to back up your files before doing anything. I always flash full stock, just to be on the safe side. And there's no need to apologize, better to ask if you'rr not sure than ruin your phone, right? [emoji6]

Yeah you are right, normally i don't ask so many questions. I just flash the phone ans see what it will bring me to.
But this is not my phone, it's my brothers in law phone.
Last question, i hope, i read that after flashing full stock zip i need to flash rom, kernel and recovery and that phone wont boot up after the flash. It needs a rom flash.
So what should i do? I'm a bit confused, there is so much information and so many files..

You need to do it via HTC fastboot

You need to flash it in RUU mode. Issue the next command "fastboot oem rebootRUU" without quotation marks obviously. That will put your phone in RUU mode ( black screen with silver HTC logo ). Then fastboot flash zip

Then you definetly need to flash via HTC fastboot. I don't have it, so maybe @alray could help
@donkeykong1
I dont know how but i managed to update the phone.
I downloaded the fastboot of htc site and installed htc sync. Then i pluged the phone in with and without development modus on to instal drivers.
After this i pluged the phone back on in fastboot mode and flashed the zip of 1.6GB. It started right away and installed the android 5.0.2.
Working good till now, so thank you for your help.:sly:
