Remix OS Official - Teclast x98 Air III, No flash.xml - Teclast X98 Air 3G

I grabbed the ROM from here:
http://www.jide.com/remixos/devices/tecalstx98
But unfortunately, there is no flash.xml inside. Check contents in the attached screenshot. Any ideas?

Try to download Mirek190 ROM, bring all Remix files in that folder by replacing original...And flash it.
I'm not responsible about it, but I tested a ROM of another tab in the same way.
Ps: it's just RemixOS 1.0.

Thank you very much for the reply! I used the missing files from the Remix 1.0 x98 3G ROM, but had no luck - the files were not recognized.
I found a forum in Chinese, at Jide, in which someone was commenting on the same problem. I used that flash.xml, but ended in a boot loop, so I reverted to guvnor's ROM.
I also tried with the files from guvnor's ROM, but the files were not recognised by the Intel Manufacturing Tool (sorry, I don't remember the exact error message, but I think it was some incompatibility between the files from Remix and that flash.xml). I guess I need a ROM-specific flash.xml, but have not idea how to produce one.
Btw, I have the M5C5 model, single-boot Android, and I am on guvnor's ROM.

Do you mean it is not worth it?
I would definitely be more interested in the x86 2.0 ROM, however I saw you had problems with inverted touch input etc... And I suppose we won't be getting anything from Teclast and Jide!

[Q] HTC One Mini 2 Demo Unit, any way to remove demo mode?

Hi Guys!
So I got my hands on an HTC One Mini 2 Demo Unit. Don't ask me how or why. (NOT STOLEN!)
I have tried to get rid of the Demo mode app but without success.
This is what I have done:
Unlocked the bootloader
Flashed TWRP
This is what I have tried to do to get rid of the demo mode:
Wiping and factory reset from TWRP. About 1 minute after the phone has booted it autoinstalls the Demo Mode again. Before it does all functions is available etc, after the demo mode is installed some options and functions is disabled.
Rooted, Installed Xposed and module BootManager to stop Demo Mode from booting, no success the demo app still starts upon boot
Tried to uninstall the app with various root uninstallers, they just fail.
Tried wiping ALL partitions etc from TWRP and restored an original HTC One Mini 2 system dump from another thread, same thing. After about one minute the Demo application autoinstalls itself and some functions is diabled and the annoying demo mode starts now and then, and blinkfeed is full of sh*t, demo contacts etc.
After I reboot all settings etc is restored to it's original state.
Any ideas how I can force the phone not to install the demo mode after reset?
Thanks!
Update: Flashing the Cyanogenmod firmware from another thread does not install the demo mode and the phone works as it should. I can call etc. But I only have 3G not 4G, don't know if it has to do with the sim or not (borrowed a nano-sim from a collegues iPhone 5s).
But anyhow I would like to have the HTC firmware instead, any ideas?
Maybe someone has another system dump/ruu/firmware or any of the sort I can try. Perhaps the firmware I tried in the other thread also was a demo-firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55107684&postcount=6)

As you probably figured it was an app in the ROM so installing a custom ROM or reverting back to stock will get rid of the problem (as you've already done it)

Thank you for your answer. I have however tried to restore the original ROM and another original dump from this forum but the app installs itself anyway. Any idea where I can get another clean ROM or system dump?

I'd unlock it first on htcdev and then root and flash a custom recovery.
Then you'd either flash back to stock or flash a custom ROM.
I hope this helps

As stated in the OP I have already unlocked the bootloader and flashed a custom recovery. CyanogenMod works but very buggy build, and either way I would like to have the original ROM or something close to it (Sense). Unfortunately there are no custom roms for this phone yet (other then CM). I have only found one original TWRP dump that I tried but the demo mode installed itself on that dump as well. I don't know why it installed itself on the original rom from this forum... Thanks

Sorry, my bad.
My understanding is that this is an app so if it's not in the ROM then it cannot run.
There are a few other custom ROM but if you want stock follow this by the letter.

Those instructions and ROMs are for the HTC One Mini and not the HTC One Mini 2. Also as far as I know there is no way to get S-OFF on the HTC One Mini 2 yet.

Thanks! I will give it a try, does not matter if I brick it anyways. My fiance dropped it and broke the glass so I will get a new demo unit.

Download stock rim flashable via twrp and open it using WinZip or winrar goto system/etc/ and delete '.demo' folder. Then repack and flash, problem solved.
no need for reading the whole thread. in twrp mount preload and by using the twrp file manager navigate to /preload and delete everything you can find inside! do a factory reset and flashing "org" firmware should be done...

I was going to do same thing, but how do you repack ? I mean I packed it with WinRAR, or 7Zip, but they compress the file, or maybe they don't pack it as TWRP format, so TWRP didn't recognise my file. Simply, how do you pack it ?

Open the zip file that you want to flash with any zip manager you like, you don't need to extract the files, just navigate to the folder and delete the .demo folder and it will automatically repack it. Close it and copy it to your phone and flash normally. It will work.

Odd "bricking"

OK, twice now this has happened.
The first time was after I updated some apps. The second was when I had installed a new app.
Initially several apps then fail to work, they open and close straight away.
I reboot and phone hangs on first M screen - before the swirly white bits.
Into recovery from there shows dead Android with open chest and Explanation mark (I think)
Factory reset from recovery fail doesn't seem to do anything
Only solution is to flash official ROM using RSD
Phone is totally UK Orange Stock - not unlocked or rooted.

To access recovery in the Android with open chest and Explanation mark : press Volume up AND down some times to get in recovery
and in recovery try factory reset.

See http://forum.xda-developers.com/razr-i/general/index-razr-t2832722 - should answer all your questions - but yes, you can use RSD on any phone, without unlocking or rooting - it is the official Motorola tool. The O2 De ROMs are on the linked page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028814

By looking at your other post you are using this zip file in RSD-lite: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028814
As the Titel of the thread says, they are 'OTA' updates. So only usable through recovery and when going from a working 4.0.4 stock rom to 4.1.2.
That's why u are getting that error. The zip is not intended to be used through RSD-Lite.
U will need to get your hands on a JB RSD-Lite firmware zip file. This site: http://motofirmware.com/files/category/24-smi/
Has some firmwares, not all.

Thanks I followed Eserims advise. I also found this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239706 before, but only working link was Retail UK/British and I wasn't sure if I can use it since i have O2DE.
But on the site you showed me I found this: CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBO2DE.xml.zip. I don't know what CFC means, but I'm going to try it, thank you.
Update:
It's working... Couple of days reading threads, searching the internet and nothing, than Hazou came and it's done, thaks again.

Remove partition Teclast X98 Air3G

I have an X98 that came as dual boot. I would like to make it Android only and use the full 64 gb. What xml file should I use to flash with MFT? I would even like to try it as Android 5 if there is a flash file that will do the above.

After reading 4pda fo 2 days about X98, I think the most simple way for You is do nothing with dualboot, you must reinstall only android wtih remap emmc.

Yes, this is the right thing to do.
At least, if you want more, you can also update bios (if your is not the last), but reinstall android with new remap file is already ok

You need to flash a MIUI Nougat firmware before flashing Lineage OS. You'll find all the links in Lineage OS thread if you read the instructions carefully.
Wow, fast reply. A lot of guides seem not to mention this. I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks
EDIT: All worked. For anyone who needs help, these are the links i used:
NOTE I REPLACE THE ASTERICK WITH A PERIOD '.' I CANT POST FULL LINKS AS IM TOO NEW
xiaomiadvices*com/download-xiaomi-mi-5-nougat-update-miui-8-2-global-stable-rom/
(I installed through adb sideloading instead)
Downloaded the rom off this page:
xiaomiadvices*com/download-miui-82-global-stable-rom/
Then i installed lineage os like normal as a zip file

You don't need to flash whole rom. Flashing the firmware it's enough. You can find TWRP flashable firmwares here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/tool-flashable-firmware-twrp-easy-t3474898

twrp gives error 7 when it is unable to write to the system partition.
check in recovery if you have mounted the system as read-only.
twrp-->mount-->check box at the bottom.

how to install lollipop again?

hello. i don't know when it happened, but... either after trying a Marshmallow ROM or Nougat ROM it started to happen. now when i try to install ANY Lollipop rom 5.0-5.1 the first boot has become infinite. i am aware the first time setup can take a long time, but it shouldn't take several hours and still no finish. the boot animations play, but i don't think any progress ever will be made. it has never taken this long before. can't even get my most used ROM up and running. i know it works. but there is no problem using KitKat or Marshmallow or Nougat. just now Lollipop seems broken.
does anyone know what i can do here?
Because you need to use Sony Emma flashtool and after do that, you can flash your lollipop rom

oh hey. thanks!
hopefully this will help get back to another ROM. it is strange, though. i actually got a Lollipop ROM to install. the ROM was found on accident. the download link in a 4.4.4 KitKat ROM thread lead to a page with only the links for a 5.1 and 6.0 ROM.
for now, i am going to stick with this one that i found on accident, it has what i need. and is very light. some reason KitKat doesn't seem to support USB audio. my headphone jack is busted, so that is very important.
out of curiousity, do you know what is preventing me from using the normal way to install some other Lollipop ROM's? i normally just copy the .zip to SD and install from recovery whatever is needed.
or maybe anyone else?
