How can i install this ota via stock recovery? [for those who on full stock, no root]
Just download appropriate OTA zip according your device, goto stock recovery, choose install update from SD card, choose zip, wait until it finish.....
After installation hit reboot system now.
How can i boot into stock recovery?
Follow below steps to boot into stock recovery : - Switch off your phone - Press Power button Volume Up simultaneously - Select Recovery mode [VOLUME_UP to select.VOLUME_DOWN is OK] - Wait for Device logo and then a Dead Android with Test "No Command" - Now hold Power then tap Volume up (in that order only) and leave it. - Congratulation! You are now in the stock recovery Code: Installation Instructions : - Download the appropriate OTA for your device - Place the OTA zip to your sdcard - Reboot to stock/custom recovery - Make a backup (just in case) - Perform a Factory reset.. Wipe data, dalvik, cache and system (recommended) - Locate the file and install - Reboot... It may take about 10-15 minutes so be patient Code: Follow below steps to boot into stock recovery : - Switch off your phone - Press Power button Volume Up simultaneously - Select Recovery mode [VOLUME_UP to select.VOLUME_DOWN is OK] - Wait for Device logo and then a Dead Android with Test "No Command" - Now hold Power then tap Volume up (in that order only) and leave it. - Congratulation! I had modified my system, such as build.prop and other sound mods, will it affect / broke ota installation?
Yep. It'll will broke the installation process, since you've modified the build prop and system, it'll surely give you error, so I'm requesting you to please roll back to stock build prop from here https://goo.gl/0b782s [PICK MOB30N buildprop] and Uninstall if you've any sound mods installed, then attempt the installation, it's gonna update successfully!
Note=This method works with systemless as well as system mode root, you can flash this ota over custom kernel too.

Yes, just reboot after installation of Official ota, after a successful boot, again boot back into that twrp recovery, simply flash custom boot image [custom kernel] followed by Super su 2.50 zip, wipe dalvik/Art [IF YOU wish] reboot. Done!

Yep, those links / zips are full stock Roms, if you're running on any build or running on any custom rom & wanna revert back to full stock with July security patch, then just download those zips, reboot recovery, perform a full wipe [Twrp> wipe > advanced > wipe everything except Micro_SD]
Then install that full stock rom zip, hit reboot key after installation!

It has restarted numerous times but to no avail. I'm using an android one device. Current build no.:MOB30G.Model :Spice Dream Uno I'm stuck at 1st may security update. Even tried formatting the phone and installing the update but it just fails to install it. Please help me resolve it.

What's the error?
Well, most of the Android one users are in the same issue, tried many methods for updating, but none of them worked, the last chance is, just root your device and update it via TWRP that's it.

Anyhow, rooting isn't a milestone with a1, just using a toolkit we can do root/recovery /unlock everything, but new comers may mess up things. like you

How to Unlock Bootloader?
Warning-Unlocking bootloader will lead to formating of your phone. The stuff inside your sd card is safe but all your apps and their data will be deleted.
Unlocking bootloader:
1. Download Universal ADB Driver installer from here.
2. Connect your phone and run the Universal ADB Driver installer. Click 'Install' button and a warning should pop up. Just click "Install anyway" and it should look like this:
3. Download ADT Bundle from here for Win-32 Bit and from here for 64-Bit . If you are unsure which version of windows you have just download the 32-Bit one.
4. Extract the zip file in your C:\ drive like this (You can install it wherever you like but this tutorials assumes this location for simplicity). Add adb and fastboot to system path by following this tutorial . This will allow you to run adb and fastboot commands from any location on cmdline.
3. Switch off your phone. Now, Press POWER BUTTON VOLUME UP button for about 5 seconds. A menu should appear. Note: VOLUME UP allows to navigate the menu (move down the menu). Press VOLUME DOWN button for selecting/choosing fastboot. On your phone, it should say something like

Connect your phone to the computer if it wasn't already.
4. Open CMD
5. On command prompt, Type:

Google has not yet released the L source.As soon as the sources are up,they will start their update process.The only thing you can do now is WAIT

well hey buddy i don't break your arm to flash this, and its FAR to be my first rom! , if u don't wanna break anything just don't flash it.
im just too busy now to flash it, or u wait, or u don't flash...simple as that.
BTW as its booting and working perfect on my Yuga (Z), and so for Odin (ZL) wich are same platform....means same kernel sources "fusion3" i don't see why its not gonna work...

my tester just flashed it....it boots up so...
from omnirom KK sure u can but if u wanna come back KK u gonne need a pc, cuz cm lollipop recovery is broken for all devices, u need to fastboot a KK boot.img in order to get back working recovery
But how exactly to flash ?
1. Place the ROM on your SD-Card.
2. Extract boot.img included in zip and fastboot flash it via Flashtool or CMD
3. Reboot to recovery.
4. Wipe data-factory reset/cache partition/dalvik cache
5. Flash the ROM.

I think it's a good idea to wipe system too. I initially used the boot.img (I actually used the CM11 one) as I'd screwed up my recovery by installing the latest TWRP 2.8.4.0 on the fota partition, I think that version is faulty. But I tried installing TWRP 2.8.1.0 on fota once up and running and screwed it up again! (black screen when trying to boot to recovery). So I flashed a stock ftf, booted and flashed an omnirom boot.img with fastboot, booted into it (2.8.1.0) and flashed this rom no problem. So I guess if you already have TWRP, you'll be ok!
*edit* Oh no! My recovery got overwritten with Cyanogenmod recovery. (No options to install zips) Hoping I can get TWRP back...

well ...i have to modify steps, because as included recovery into lollipops kernel, i was wishing cyanogen fix their sh*t, but it semms they are not gonna fix it soon, is broken, u can't flash anything from it, or else from sideload.
better way is:
From a fastboot flashed cm11 (yeah KK) boot.img (or if u already are on a cm11/or based rom with working recovery)
u boot into recovery
make a nandbackup
wipe data factory reset+wipe cache partition+wipe dalvik cache
flash rom+gapps
reboot
let settle
reboot once again...

Well I think I'm getting somewhere... After having my recovery overwritten, I flashed stock ftf again, booted, flashed omnirom boot.img (TWRP 2.8.1.0) and flashed Pacman Rom 4.4. Then I booted to recovery and it was once again overwritten by cwm. So I booted to system, used the fota install method for TWRP 2.6.0.0 and hey presto! It was successful. So I'm guessing later versions won't stick if flashed for the first time. I was on TWRP since 2.6.0.0 and have updated using fota method ever since. So now I've installed this rom again and will see if I can get TWRP 2.6.0.0 to stick, then maybe update...

These are the official (444mb) MRA58M OTA firmware for all Android One First Generation device. Captured via KPX44 firmware using various oem.prop collected from all the A1 devices. These OTA's are compatible with both stock and custom recovery, rooted or none rooted, locked or unlocked bootloader. It doesn't matter whether you are on Kitkat or older versions of Lollipop, or any custom roms, just install them like a normal ROM and you'd be fine. Basically, these OTA's are stock rom images which will install Android 6.0 Marshmallow to your device regardless of what version you have.

Hey dude! Google unleashed 2 types of Marshmallow OTA for the Android One sprout device. The first one was about 337mb which was meant for the LMY48M Lollipop build. The other one was about 444mb which was a similar OTA when LMY47O arrived in India.
The first OTA was meant to update Lollipop LMY48M build to Marshmallow. The 444mb was meant for older versions of Android such as Kitkat and LMY47O to LMY48K builds.
So basically, the 444mb is a stock rom image which will install Android 6.0 to your device regardless of what version you have

For some reason the zip file failed the zip signature verification on the phone , even though the file passed a SHA1 check. Marshmallow seems to be running just fine though!

Did you take any logs or a screenshots?
Anyhow, probably the "Zip file signature verification" option was enabled from TWRP settings. If thats the case it will fail to verify since TWRP will look for the md5 file which is missing. But as long as it pass the sha1 verification, its a good file..

You are referring to the Universal Stock Rom, which is compatible with all A1 first gen device as long as you have a custom recovery. Both have similar contents and build, but...
This OTA's are officially provided by Google for specific device only, e.g. you cannot install micromax a1 ota to another device. Google sends them out only once, when a new Android OS is released. They are compatible with both stock and custom recovery as long as you are installing the right firmware for your device.

Yeah, it's easy to bypass the zip file signature verification. A md5 file isn't needed (I think) since the CM11 zip that TWRP verified didn't have a md5 file but still passed the signature verification. But yeah, the Marshmallow zip file passed SHA1 verification on desktop :good:

EDIT: You wont see the ota zip file in case your sdcard is adopted internal storage since the drive is encrypted. You need to transfer the ota zip to another sdcard via pc.

Yes I figured it out. But my problem was not booting to the sock recovery. It was how to flash when in it. The green android was my screen with no options. Pressing the volume up and power button and then releasing the power button and tapping it again gave me the options. Thanks btw

i Was talking about OTA update
sad, my p1ma40 s36 rooted (i keep stock recovery not twrp) can't update OTA. someone help me , my phone rooted! There must be someway to upate , not flashing the big firmware.
Some are developing lineage os 7.1.1 for Vibe p1m. Available on lenovo-forums.ru

you can go For minmod editions,
if you want something stable in custom Rom go for RR or AOSP,
I would prefer RR

What solution you need exactly?
i used sptool to flash s40 rom now i get invialid imei and i can't use any sim card
*i tried upgrade first didn't work so i went with format + download

i tried to flash S024_150914 and S036_160822 but the same problem so i got back to s40
any way i will try Lineage OS 7.1.1 for now

For me everything is working fine.
There are methods to change IMEI to previous one. It's all mentioned on site. Search it. If not found then create account there and ask.

Instructions to Flash :
Method 1 : TWRP Method [ NO Data Loss] [ For Decrypted Devices]
1. First flash this chinese twrp recovery from here on mega link thx for @xXx
2. Now boot to chinese twrp recovery and wipe dalvik/cache/data . No need to wipe internal storage
3. Now flash the leaked rom zip file and nwo dont reboot , immediately follow the next step.
4. Flash that chinese twrp.img by selecting install img option. [ this will stop stock recovery to replace twrp]
5. Now reboot the phone to recovery . [ Dont boot the phone to system]
6. Now Flash latest magisk 14.5(1456) .
8. Then flash this force encryption disabler zip file from attachment below or here on mega link
7. Now reboot the phone. Voila . You have your phone booted into latest oreo without data loss [emoji3]
Method 2 : Sideload Method
1. First you need to flash the stock recovery ( you can't flash the rom on twrp recovery).
2. Reboot the phone to stock recovery.
3. Wipe all datas (everything).
4. Then Select Install Via ADB option
5. Now Sideload The downloaded zip file.
6. After completing, now reboot the phone.
7. Hurray!! Now you are on Oreo.

P.S: Since its a beta build , this might have more bugs .
Guide To ROOT :
1. Firstly flash twrp using Fastboot Method.
2. Then boot into twrp.
3. Now go to "wipe" and click "format data"
4. Then, in recovery simply go back (without reboot)
5. Connect your phone to pc and copy newest magisk zip in root folder of your phone
6. now flash magisk zip file and reboot into system.
Instructions To revert back to N ROMs:
1. Take backup of your data to pc.
2. If you r on stock recovery, wipe everything.
3. If you are on twrp recovery, flash stock recovery and wipe everything.
4. Now open into stock recovery.
5. Now connect phone to Pc.
6. Now sideload any stock rom (full zip).
7. That's it. Reboot the phone.
Enjoy Oreo!!!

it shows as 4.5.2 . since its a closed beta build , they didnt checked that out .

I think I'll wait for a more stable release...
Hopefully the same thing will happen when the closed beta for the OP3 was leaked. OnePlus then opened up their beta programme.

Well 5t is coming with android 8.0 and launch date is november 16. But i think there will be no open beta for oneplus 5, just official oreo release.
