Any way to swap the back button with the recent apps button on Xperia X? - Sony Xperia X Performance Questions & Answers

And is there a forum for Xperia X separately?

You can enable "Force RTL layout direction" in Developer options (just keep tapping the build number if you can't find it in settings menu).
The downside is that the whole UI direction will be changed; including the navigation drawer.

nexus 4 toggle soft keys/navigation

I made a combination of tasker and gmd gesture control that helps to toggle the softkeys and the navigation bar....When the softkeys are hidden you can navigate using gestures...You can select to toggle only the navigation bar or the soft keys using the setting in the power menu and then selecting the expanded desktop option that suits you.
it works well for me and also i can stick with the softkeys that i have and no restart necessary.
But only if you guys do have a custom rom with expanded desktop functionality.
Unfortunately my youtube link wont get posted as i am a new user so just go to youtube and add this in address /watch?v=lPpTaf6y7qQ&feature=youtu.be
Please suggest any changes to make the combination better
Do you have the tasker code to toggle navigation bar ?
I know it uses:
Package: com.android.systemui
Class: com.android.systemui.NavbarTog*gle
But what do I need to use as action ?

I want to create a tasker shortcut to toggle softkeys on the home screen because with the softkeys on QR readers have garbled camera image.
I have class and package for tasker 'send intent' but with only these 2 items it does not work. I need something more to make it work.

Best/Safest way to hide navbar?

This is my first android with soft buttons, and coming from the DNA's 5" screen I would like to hide the navbar to get more screen space during games. I have root, and I tried GMD auto hide but when I hid the bar the phone just kept crashing. I just downloaded ultimate dynamic navbar and it says the safe way is to get XPOSED and install a module. Where do I find XPOSED? I had a MotoXposed but it didn't have the hid navbar option (and I couldn't get any of the other options to stick anyways) So is anyone out there using an app to hide the navbar on their Moto x? Thanks!

Nova launcher will do what I believe your asking.

MotoXposed (as well as the option you are talking about in UDN) require the Xposed Framework to be installed. You download Xposed Installer, install the Framework with that app, and then activate the desired modules within that app.
Go nova settings/look and feel/ un check show nav bar.
The option in nova is notification bar! I tried the usual methods. But get system ui errors. Build prop edit will get rid of it, but that's for good.

Yeah, I don't want to get rid of it, just hide it when I don't need it

To do this with Nova Launcher purchase version will be needed. Go to Nova Settings/ Gestures and Buttons/ then pick a gester like swipe down/ Toggle Notification bar. You would have to toggle the Notification bar before opening the app.
I hope this helps.
You can always just hide it using that build.prop edit then use pie launcher (lmt launcher) to be your nav bar

This app will help you hide the navbar, and replace it with Pie gestures when you swipe from the sides of the screen. there's lots of customization that comes with it as well. Have fun!

This app can hide the navbar indeed, but it hide the notification bar and disabled the recent apps interface as well..... Cannot separate these two things......

It works fine but the usual stuff about keyboard and what not. I could see it being quite good in pro mode if you select apps that don't really require a keyboard only. I don't think it's worth using for me as I use my phone to write things, so having to many all make the keyboard appear is not worth the effort. Works fine though

I didnt get your point bro..keyboard???
I installed on one of my frends xperia z3...it freezes after some time and then no buttons are available.sometimes buttons are available but didnt work.ultimately I have to reboot the device..any issues with anyone??
I use "all in one gestures" to hide the nav bar. I've set it up like this: swipe up from the bottom right or left corner enables/disables immersive mode. That is the most efficient way to quickly hide the nav bar or bring it back when you need the keyboard that I've found. Does not require root!
It's also possible to use other gestures of course. Does not replace GMD gesture control (which requires root), but it's something!

Yes. You select gesture and set it to activate Fullscreen. When you perform the gesture you enter immersive mode. It's nice because you can quickly disable it when you need the keyboard.

Swap soft buttons

Is that a way to swap these buttons. I'm rooted but can't find a simple way.
Xposed+ gravitybox
Install custom navigation bar app from Play Store.
Open and run the command it tells you to from ADB.
Reboot phone.
Open the app> navigation bar> enable inverted option.
Profit.
Doesn't even require root and works amazingly. Been using it for a few months now with that OP5T compact nav-bar

Disable Nav Bar?

Hi
Is there anyway to disable the Nav? I'm using XDA Gestures which works but ideally I'd like to use Lmt on the bottom instead.
I've tried a build prop edit but it doesn't do anything on note
I have root if it helps
Thanks
Interested to findout the same as well please. I don't have root and want to disable nav bar.

adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*

Hey I came from a google search and tried this, and while it does hide the nav bar, all gesture apps that utilize a swipe up, still brings up the transparent navbar. The nav bar also appears when a keyboard is present.
Any way to completely disable the nav bar so that gesture apps can work properly?

Update to latest Android Pie version. There is option in setting to use gestures instead and hide the navbar completely.
