[APP] Install ViPER4Android on MM 6.0 - Moto G 2015 Themes and Apps

First, all the credit goes to Dhananjay for he's tutorial and zhuhang for create this great app.
Disclaimer
Installing mods on your Android device may leave it non-functional or even soft-brick it. DroidOrigin will not be responsible if anything such happens. Recovering is easy however, and we will definitely help you.
Before You Begin
- To install V4A, you must have a rooted phone. If you haven’t rooted yet, you can check for your device in our Rooting section.
- Make sure no other audio mods are installed, like AudioFX. If there is, you will need to remove it completely. If you have problems doing so, use Titanium Backup for.
- Also, you must have BusyBox installed on your ROM. You can download it by clicking the link below. (You can try other busybox installer apps, but if you face issues while installing V4A drivers, you must install this one.)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox&hl=fr
In case the driver installation fails – It seems like some manufacturer specific devices require SELinux status to be set as Permissive. You can use SELinuxModeChanger app to do the required. Thanks to our reader — Avip, for notifying this.
Steps to Install ViPER4Android on Marshmallow:
1. Go to the V4A website and download ViPER4Android FX, or direct link : http://www.mediafire.com/?ar5men9o5ar7inb
2. Move the downloaded ViPER4Android_FX_v2401_A4.x-A6.x.apk to the phone’s storage.
3. Make sure, you have enabled Unknown sources in Settings > Security.
4. Now, using a file manager (e.g Solid Explorer), install the apk manually, as you normally would do.
5. Once it has been installed, go to app drawer and run ViPER4Android FX.
6. When you will run the app for the first time, it will prompt you to install V4A drivers on your device, so tap on Yes. As soon as you tap, you will have to grant root permissions, so choose GRANT.
7. V4A app will automatically detect the system and install appropriate drivers for the mod to work properly, and upon completion, the following message will be displayed: ‘Driver installed, please reboot your device’. And now as advised, reboot your phone/tablet (I hope you know how to do that!).
8. When the device has rebooted, again launch ViPER4Android FX app.
9. Tap on the 3-dot menu button on the top-right of the app, and select Driver Status. It should display Status: Normal.
If the driver installation fails, read the last point of the ‘Prerequisites’.
10. Start using ViPER4Android now! Tweak the settings to best match your phone and output device. Are you using specific profiles for your phone? Post them below and share it with other users.

Status is Normal but two are not enabled. Is this correct? Not noticing an impact to audio throught my Sennheisers.

I think you have to disable audio fx or music fx.

Enable : no, is not good should be yes and processing : no is ok for me.
You should have Music FX or Audio FX remove like say Vicky90.
You can use Titanium Backup to completely remove it.
You absolutely must remove Audio tweaking stuff what is in your Rom.

I can't find any Music FX or Audio FX in app drawer, using Titanium or manually looking through data and priv-app folders. Weird. I'm running Overdrive 's MM ROM v. 9 and Beastmode 56.8 kernel. No other audio mods installed or enabled. I'll keep digging...

@rYz11 then make sure busybox installed and change selinux mode to permissive if not set.

Thanks. Yes, stericson busybox is installed and updated and I'm running a permissive kernel (Beastmode 56.8). I'm noticing slight gain so I'll keep playing with it and ignore the not enabled messages.

Well, major "d'oh!" moment - was checking driver status with no music playing. Thanks to @stueycaster for common sense suggestion.

Well, what version of busybox do you install ? The one I give the link ? Because other don't work for me.
And Enable should be yes because if not ViPER4Android shouldn't work.
Maybe if you are any audio tweaking stuff in your phone/Rom it's kernel fault who use audio mod. And are you using Xposed ? Because that could be bad too.
But I don't know the ROM and kernel you are using so it's difficult to help.
I have for long time stay away of ViPER4Android because I was thinking it was another illusion of sound quality, but good install and well configure, WOW !
Sorry bro, can't help much.

Np, all is good now as long as I remember to check driver status when music is playing.

I already had busybox installed, I made sure it was updated. FYI - I'm running Overdrive's MM Rom (T-Mobile Note 4) with Beastmode 56.8.

@Vink67 I have tried this (Open Source Version) and it does everything for you (even if SELinux is enforcing) and is easier in my opinion

That was the only way I could get it working for me. With the app of the OP, everything goes OK, and driver status enabled, etc., but it hasn't any effect in sound.
I have stock rom+kernel, but with exposed and gravity box.

A much easier way to install Viper is in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/viperaudio-viperatmos-3-8-sq-driver-t3289075
Just download Viper stock 5.4 zip, flash in recovery and voila! No need to mess with the selinux changer app or do anything else.

Its 2.4.0.1 which is the most up to date version of v4a. I was only suggesting it because you don't have to use selinux mode changer app, which is dangerous for security reasons. Not to mention the zip takes care of everything for you.

GearUI ROM Download Links Fixed without device check bug
My big big big FAIL. In Device Patch i left format /system -.- So every time you flash the device flash system contents will be deleted and of course phone won't boot -.-
Uploading a working patch xD
Working patches are up. Same links as before but archive script is different.
Sorry for before
Enjoy!
Thanks for picking this up if you plan on maintaining development I will leave miui with you.

Installed per directions, lost root, Super user su needed updating, couldn't update, recovered to nandroid.
Reinstalled with Superuser SU per Dougfresh's advice. Everything booted well, could not connect to TMobile. Lost IMIE, went stock and back to CM10.1 will try again when I don't need my phone.

It is normal, i disabled all sounds and enabled airplane mode as default settings. If u disable airplane mode and enable all u want in settings all should work.
For in-call audio don't know, its a bit strange .....

Yes, it was just a toggle (however it took quite a bit to figure out that THIS was causing also the "SIM not found" message during the setup wizard; one also cannot toggle off the airplane mode until the wizard is done; maybe it's only my phone )
I have found the culprit causing no in-call sound, if OP allows, I'll add the link to the working patch here (with fixed Su, now the stock Permission works with pop-ups, also GearTools seems ok )
Good job!

It has all the files the original patch had PLUS some audio libraries added from a working Vibrant port AND replaces Su binnary in xbin folder. Hence it fixes no in-call sound issue and root problems with previous patch. Now the stock Permission Manager should be fully working, no more need for SuperSu app.
After a day of use I can say the same as some time ago with early Miui v5 builds: they are less smooth than Miui v4.1, unfortunately. Beautiful, for sure, but it is not enough (for now).
Hoewever I pray the OP to continue his work, I will be testing your builds as they come. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately more i can't do. MIUIv5 have lots of heavy stuff and our phone can't do more. The only solution (not so good) is removing many miui apps but this is useless and you can install a cm based rom if u want something really light without useful apps :/
Maybe when miui will be based on android 4.3 we will gain more performance but for now, its near the limit

ViPER4Android Guide of Sorts

" You need to install the viper for lollipop apk and install the driver. Install SELenix mode changer and change to permissive. That should be all you need, but if it doesn't work go to developer options and check use nuplayer..." - Swizzle 82

Here is the post about SELinix Mode Changer! All credit to respective devs! While you are there thank em!
Once I am able to post Images and Link I will update this with pictures and DL links!
I have Viper4Android working with busybox working!
All credit goes to Swizzle 82 in the T-mobile G4 Forums. I would have linked to it directly, however as I am not at the maximum posts yet to do that I can not.
So this is going to be a step by step guide as best as I can do without being able to link anything yet.
1.) Install Viper4Android ( A quick google or XDA search will bring you right to where you need to be DL link up in top post, and while it's downloading PLEASE Thank ZhuHang)
2.) Run Viper4Android, This will prompt you to make a few selections such as audio quality, READ EACH DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY! Make audio selection.

3.) Viper4Android will prompt you to install drivers, continue, it will then inform you do not have busybox installed (If you don't have it installed).
3a.)
4.) Select yes to install Busybox, Should take you to the PlayStore with BusyBox. Tap Install and wait for it to complete.
4a.)
4b.) Open Busybox app and wait for smart install ( This was how I installed it)
4b.) Continue with install once it's is all loaded.
5.) Open up Viper4Android, Tap the options Dots ( 3 vertical dot in upper right hand corner), Select install drivers, Make selection for audio quality again. Let drivers install.

Works beautifully, thanks!

I have been trying to get this to work all week with multiple apps. Including Play music, spotify & system music player. No luck. Just keep getting drivers need to be installed nonsense. I have also installed Viper as a system app. No luck. Ran from both SD card & internal mem. No luck. Any ideas at all?

Collection of Magisk Modules

Collection of modules for @topjohnwu's Magisk!
General Information
I wanted to make a single thread where everyone can contribute and add modules to serve as a one stop shop for modules until the Magisk Manager gets an xposed-like module downloader. All files are attached in the order that they are introduced.
My Modules
Busybox Installer - Credits: YasadSharaf for the binaries
The installer detects what architecture (ARM/ARM64, x86/x86_64, MIPS/MIPS64) your device uses and installs the correct busybox binary accordingly.
Better Battery Stats Installer - Credits: @JudgeDread11
The installer systemless-ly installs the Better Battery Stats app.
Screen Density Changer - Credits: @JudgeDread11
The zip changes your screen density systemless-ly, extract the zip to set the value that you would like.
Debloater - Credits: @JudgeDread11
The zip debloats your ROM, he uses for Asus Zenfone 2 could probably be adapted to many more devices.
Mount Magisk
The simple script mounts the magisk.img to /magisk to allow it to be edited in case a module or script is causing a bootloop.
ViPER4Android Installer - Credits: @topjohnwu edit by me
The installer systemless-ly installs the ViPER4Android app as well as the driver. Detects and supports the x86 V4A driver. It uses the material design version 2.3.4.0 because it is of higher quality than 2.4.0.1. Two zips, one for dark theme and other for light theme.
Ad-Block Installer
The installer systemless-ly installs my ad-blocker, which supports updating by running hosts as root in terminal. The updater utilizes a wget port to android. The entire hosts file is 18 MB and has over 600k unique entries. Hosts is located at GitHub.
Liveboot Installer - Credits: @topjohnwu edit by me
The installer systemless-ly installs the LiveBoot app and script. Credits to @topjohnwu for this one I just edited the settings to the way I prefer it. Two zips, one with boot logs and one without both have 60 lines as default.
Credits & Thanks: Mainly @osm0sis for his awesome odds & ends thread that I used as a template and @topjohnwu for Magisk. Also everyone else who has contributed in any way to installer scripts for various mods, I've tried to include your name by the module you contributed to.
Disclaimer: Naturally, you take all the responsibility for what happens to your device when you start messing around with things.
Contributing: Post a reply with your module attached or a link to it with a short description. I'll add it to the OP with credits and a link to your post. Or even post ideas for modules!
Source Code:Working on it.
These are all very simple modules, but good for noobs like me, who would like some examples.
A better battery stats systemless system app
The sample from the magisk thread, changing screen density by script.
And a sample for a de-bloat module that I use on stock Asus Zenfone 2 laser.

also, installed the new adblocker and i can't seem to disable it still:

removing/disabling modules?
Hi,
I was wondering what the process is for removing modules since there isn't a manager like there is for xposed? Please let me know when you have a moment.
Thanks

the drivers seem to be installed now. no prompt at startup to install drivers, but it still does not appear to be working. i've tried toggling effects via bluetooth and wired headphones and neither work.
I'm on a Nexus 6P, encrypted, Android N Official, Magisk v6, selinux enforcing

Play music after you've changed settings and then tap driver status and screenshot it. I'm pretty sure Android N needs permissive.

Or if you afraid things go seriously wrong when you delete something that is essential in your running system add a file called remove to the mod folder. The mod will be removed on the next reboot.

How would u accidently delete something essential if your in the Magisk folder? This works too but the reasoning behind it doesn't make sense, your nowhere near deleting anything 'essential' while in the /magisk folder.

From my understanding you can change anything in the system folder, and i believe there is some essential stuff in there. When you run a mod that changes this stuff the files in the mod folder are the files the system is linked to. So removing these files on the fly would have the same result as removing the files on the fly in an unmodded system.
I might be wrong. But I'm learning

Changelog:
Magisk v9 from xda-developer topjohnwu preinstalled and prerooted with phh superuser - special thanks to @topjohnwu!
Note: After first setup please install latest Magisk Manager Download: http://tiny.cc/latestmanager This is the only App which cannot be included - because of special code cache - it must be installed by the user! Soon as you have installed this Manager - superuser ask you - grant Root Permission to Magisk and grant Permission for MM in the next window. After you will see Magisk is correctly installed.
Go to settings /module - phh´s SuperUser is installed, go to settings /Downloads: From MagiskManager you can install:
Sonys Framework and systemless Xposed Framework 87 and Pixel Launcher (for activation or deactivation Pixel Launcher go after installing to Settings /Apps / Advanced /Standard-App Settings)
Material Design Xposed Installer is onboard from xda-developer: DVDandroid - but dont install the framework from here, install it from MagiskManager.
As soon you have it installed, you can open the Material Design Xposed Installer - systemless Xposed Framework is active. With this installer (is included in the Rom) you can download and manage your modules. - special thanks to @DVDandroid!
Important tip: If you want to restore a Nandroid Backup of a none Magisk-Version (Gratitude 4.1, Gratitude 5 Classic Edition) - you must do following steps before:
be sure to uninstall phh Superuser first - flash unsu.zip (Download: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067 )and directly after flash Magisk-uninstall.zip (Download: http://tiny.cc/latestuninstaller)
If you have done this two steps you can restore a Nandroid Backup of another Rom. If you dont do this steps, the restoring will not be without faults.
Requirements for Gratitude-ROM:
Marshmallow Firmware (Android 6.0 Bootloader) or any 6.0 Custom Rom of @Blackball (ROM cannot be flashed on Lollipop based Roms!)
Unlocked Bootloader: http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/hwdownload/download
TWRP 3.0.2.0 released 2016-11-14 by KangV - Some more Information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69622679&postcount=136
Download TWRP: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862681510
Installation:
Clean Installation with Fullwipe is recommended (Backup your data, boot to TWRP, go to Wipe /Advanced Wipe and format Dalvik/ART Cache, Cache, System and Data - NOT the Internal Memory)
Dirty Flash is possible:
backup your converted System-Apps first (System will be formated during flashing) and wipe immediately after installation BEFORE Reboot Dalvik and Cache (TWRP left next to Reboot-Button)
The Installation needs about 2 Minutes, the Reboot needs about 10 Minutes (clean install) and with dirty flashing the Reboot needs about 15 Minutes
To switch of chinese Letters - go to K-Settings, in there to Notification Settings/Show statusbar lunar - disable it. After to Lockscreen und desktop settings/Lunar calender + Desktop wheather lunar - disable it.
Push-Notifications
The Push-Notifications are working for sms, mms, email.... But for WhatsApp, Viber, Skype and other Chat/Net-Call Apps the push-notifications work only perfectly if you convert them into a system app. You can easily do this with Link2SD. Link2SD give you a list of all Apps - for example "WhatsApp" - just press long on it and you get a menue - use: convert to system-app. Then reboot your Phone. After you have to authentication WhatsApp again - so make a Google-Drive Backup of the Chat-History before doing this.
Optional Downloads:
Huawei-Swype-Keyboard (flashing in TWRP) Download: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224387045
To enable go to settings, advanced settings, Language and Input, Standardkeyboard - configure Input Method, enable Huawei-Swype (Google Keyboard must be enabled) after you can change to Swype....
Removal-Tool for this Huawei-Swype-Keyboard: Note: Another keyboard must be installed (but not activated) before removing Huawei Swype.... Example: Google Keyboard installed, but not activated. Huawei Swype activated. Flash zip in TWRP. Download: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224392930

Hey Tecalote, its me again. The problem with atmos/viper is happening again, sometimes processing is working, but mostly its not, even after restart, using stock player... with V3 i never had such problem, just letting you know
Thank you for informing me!

im using just stock music player, the problem occurs for example, when i stop listening music, i unplug earphones, then few mins later i wanna to listen something again, and then none of those two works (viper/atmos), sometimes when i manually quit all apps and re-launch them, it help, but very rarely (im not sure why is this happening)
EDIT:
Well, something interesting happened, this may help you:
Using stock music player, playing some music, trying switch on/off atmos and viper, nothing worked, so i tried disable DTS in music player, atmos and viper, then switch to next song, and tried to enable atmos, and it worked, then i could enable DTS (didn tried viper :/ ) so i imediately went to PC to inform you, while i was writing, music was paused, now i tried if it still works, and it doesnt DTS is working everytime tho... hope it will help somehow

it works very well on UL10. Just install with MM Rom stock and follow the 1st post instrutions. Excellent ROM, love all the advanced settings. Keep it up.
Just one thing. Does normal Xposed doesn't work? Cause I install the arm64 xposed 86.1 and it doesn't boot, and warm a lot. Which xposed can we install with this ROM?
Cheers

Please don't flash Xposed - I wrote in the OP -
Go to Settings K-Settings Xposed Framework - Install Confirm - Wanams Xposed Framework 86.1 is included and will correctly installed automatically.
The Reboot needs maybe 15-20 min.
You don't need Alpha-Installer, its also included.

Hello Sir, at the moment there is no Dolby compatible Huawei Musicplayer yet for this Rom - but as you said, Poweramp works - and I tested Google Play Music. This works even great together with the Dolby Feature.
Of course, I try to find also a solution for Huawei Musicplayer.

[Audio mod] [V2] Viper4Android [Nougat]

Hey guys!! so earlier I have come up with Dolby Atmos mod for Samsung Nougat devices, but it still bugged me that Viper4Android was not working!! So after countless hours of brainstorming, I finally got viper4android to work on Nougat!!
So here you go!! Also works with my Dolby Atmos!
Tested devices:
- S6 edge+
- Note 5

Requirements:
- Samsung device
- Nougat rom (N-lite V3 rom users, please wait for V4 rom. Pre-installed busybox on V3 interferes with viper driver installation)
- Rooted by Magisk (Dolby does not need root. Only viper needs root by magisk)
Installation instructions:
- Flash attached viper zip file and UPDATE zip file in TWRP. Users already using this mod, please see update instructions below.
- Reboot
- Install Busybox by Meefik here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox&hl=en
- Open Viper4android app and install drivers if it prompts.
- Enjoy!! Flash DolbyAtmos zip if you want
Update instructions:
- Uninstall Viper4android drivers from the menu in Viper4android app.
- Flash the update zip.

Okay, so I talked to rainbow_dash and apparently he had some other busybox built into the v3 version of his rom, that's not compatible with viper. And even if you install the meefik one, it reverts back to his busybox after a reboot. And he has agreed to fix that in the upcoming N-lite v4!
