First of all, ensure that the module isn't outdated and compatible with latest Xposed version. v86 introduced some new stuff under the hood, which makes some modules incompatible, the module developers have to fix it.

Does this happen with all modules or a specific one that you want/need?

Exposed not working on my nexus 5 running android 6.0.1
Hey guys can any one help me with this problem
When I open exposed it says "Exposed Framework version 79 is active"
But when I go to modules sections there is no modules available over there
It says "No Exposed modules were found"
Please help
Is it normal because Xposed Framework is just a framework, you need to install Xposed modules.
You can find many modules here:
http://repo.xposed.info/module-overview
After flashing xposed-v80-sdk23-arm.zip on Nexus 5 running 6.0.1, it continuously shows a loop of NFC service stopped. After pressing OK, the msg comes again immediately. I had to flash xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm.zip to bring my phone back to life.
Please help me to install xposed.

Which Xposed installer did you install? v2.x or v3.0? A screenshot of the Framework section within the Xposed Installer might be helpful.
I got almost the same problem on CM13; http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-framework-t3273084

Yes, V87
I used uninstall Xposed script and attempted to disable Xposed via Hardward Keys. - Neither worked. Mainly due to the modification of the Android.System.ui from the Xposed Module.

Help with instaling Xposed...

I'm trying to flash Xposed on my device (its an mtk6735 device, using a custom rom ported from the meizu m2, android 6.0), I've tried installing xposed but whenever i try to do so, xposed installer says that xposed is installed but not active, I've tried researching about the issue and tried the common fixes suggested on XDA and other forums, to no avail. One clue that I do have is that my device is an arm64 device but when i try flashing the arm64 zip, it says that my device is arm hence i should use that zip, I'm sure mine is an arm64 device cause I've researched and used apps to confirm it, so to flash xposed i used the arm zip but that causes the issue "xposed is installed but not active", my theory is that since it thinks its the wrong processor it doesnt work properly on my device, any help would we appreciated greatly, thanks.
Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-framework-89-0-systemless-t3723850

Might try to change the custom rom If available or go back to stock to flash xposed.
That's gonna be alot of work just to get Xposed working
Try soft rebooting from Xposed Installer app if it reports Xposed Framework is inactive.

Magisk + Root gone after installing RR-Rom

Hi everone,
After having my Samsung Galaxy S9+ for a while and been on team iPhone before that, I've been out the custom rom area. After a a couple week of considering it, I decided that today was the day.
What did i do?
-I followed HighOnAndroid written tutorial of flashing my S9+ using TWRP and Magisk. (I don't know if linking the website is okay, so I didn't.)
-Flashed Resurrection Rom and wanted to start it, which didn't go well (no Gapps).
-Installed Gapps Aroma, but didn't work so good, as i could not log into Google and got Maps/Calender/Photos errors.
-Booted into Recovery-->Wiped everything-->Installed RR-rom again-->Installed MindTheGapp.
This worked pretty good. I could login and stuff so i was happy about it. But not that I want to USE my rooted phone to the max, I couldn't find Magisk anywhere. There is no Magisk anything. What I still do have is TWRP Recovery.
Also when I checked via a root-check-app, it said that my phone isn't rooted... I do have RR-rom which is working perfectly.
Guys, WTF??
Can someone please tell me what I should do to get 'rooted' again.
Waiting for someone to help me get out of this hell. (Been trying to flash/root properly for hours. Just when I thought I was in the clear.... )
Thank you in advance.
Magisk has its own root built in so you just need to flash magisk

You wiped it when you flashed resurrection. Just flash magisk 18 zip in TWRP if you want root. Most ROMs do not come pre rooted these days because some people need safetynet to pass no matter what.
Magisk was in your original system, you wiped it and installed a new system (resurrection).

First, what Android version is the ROM you installed? If it's Android pie, xposed does not work on it. it doesn't matter what version of Android you were previously on before you flashed the ROM, the ROM could be a different version.
If it's Oreo or lower and,
if you are installing Xposed through magisk you also have to get the Xposed installer APK for magisk. The regular Xposed installer APK will not work.
In magisk manager in the downloads section tap Xposed SDK (?) and read the file that pops up it will have a link to the proper xposed installer APK.
Pick the Xposed SDK version that your device requires.
8.1 SDK 27
8.0 SDK 26
7.1.x SDK 25
Etc....

My rom is on android 8.0
I installed Xposed via Magisk download section.
"XPOSED FRAMEWORK"
But when I opened it, it said my andoid version was not supported for sdk xxx. I can find that Xposed Framework (sdk xxx). Should i delete current version and install Framework (sdk xxx)?

I would. I always use the specific one rather than the unity package. Also make sure to get the Xposed app from the module description. The link will take you to the XDA thread containing the APK.
Edit: this thread. Xposed magisk APK 3.1.5
