Note 4 stuck in TWRP boot loop after factory reset of CM 12 - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

About a month ago I flashed CM 12 onto my Note 4 with no problem and the phone worked great. However, I have now purchased a new phone to replace my old device and wanted to give my Note 4 to my mom and so I factory reset the device in CM 12. Now the phone is stuck in a TWRP bootloop and I have tried numerous times to access the recovery mode (power + vol. up + home button) but to no avail I cannot access recovery mode on the device.
I have tried flashing the stock ROM using Odin, but it did not work because when attempting to flash the stock all I get is an error (imgur .com/ THOYjjI) [remove the spaces, sorry the photo was taken using my phone as I was using my mom's Windows laptop for Odin and pasted the text into notepad] I am able to access the download mode (power + vol. down + home button)
I have even tried ADB and Fastboot, but I was unable to figure out to properly work the command prompt as well as configure the phone at the same time
I hate to sound desperate, but I have been trying to remedy this problem for about 2 days now and I am getting extremely frustrated at this point as I feel as though I have scoured the internet for any possible answer. Anyone please help I appreciate any input.

I see you are pushing COD6, were you on DOK2 prior to installing CM? If so, you cannot odin cod6, only DOK2 and above.
Alternatively, if twrp is jacked up, can you repush twrp from odin for a fresh recovery?
One more edit....you reset from within cm, correct? Have you tried reseting from twrp? You didn't reset in twrp and wipe the system did you?

I apologize, but could you please "dumb" down what you said...
When I factory reset my Note 4 the device was running Cyanogenmod 12 nightly and I did not think to go to the TWRP recovery before hand and had simply factory reset the phone through Cyanogenmod. The phone is currently stuck in the "teamwin" boot loop and if possible I would like to flash the stock ROM or just at least boot into Cyanogenmod. I believe the phone is bricked at this point and if possible I would like to save it.

If someone could kindly explain in layman's terms and detail how to use ADB and Fastboot to possibly fix the device. I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Do you know what touch wiz base it was on prior to loading CM? If it was the latest 5.1.1 (firmware ending in DOK2), then the firmware 5.0.1 (COD6) that you are trying to Odin will be blocked (security related). If you don't know, I would try DOK2 or EPE3 (6.0.1). Honestly Marshmallow has been great on my device and I left CM to go back to stock touch wiz with Systemless root.
Edit: if you load DOK2 or EPE3, you will be blocked from downgrading.

I can't help here with Samsung devices. I only use ADB with my nexus devices and only Odin with Sammy.

When flashing CM 12 I believe I had the latest version of Marshmallow, but since you are saying that I will blocked that means I cannot flash my phone to stock ROM?

Dok2=lollipop pe3=marshmallow you can't downgrade the bootloader from dok2 to cod6 for security... but you can flash stock dok2 instead... OR the new pe3 mm update throught odin. (you can get these from sammobile) Have you tried pulling your battery reinsert in it and booting into recovery? If that's not working. Into download mode and reflashing twrp with odin?

4. It Stuck on Samsung logo again
5. I was trying to boot recovery mode but it was not booting (to wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik Cache)
6. I am able to start phone in Download Mode only and not Recovery mode. (using Hardware Keys)
Can anyone help me out coming out of this. I still believe if i can wipe my data/Dalvik/System Cache using ODIN my phone will start.

kinda strange issue,
usually if you've already flashed the original Samsung firmware, it will come together with "built-in" recovery which "possible" to be access in any circumstances,
hmmm, try to do odin again, with different frimware version from different country (I also didn't use my own country firmware) :silly:
by default, try to disable "auto-reboot" option on the odin,
once you've complete flashed the firmware, try to remove the battery for moment, and boot into recovery,
should be working
give it a try, I used to do it in my S Plus, :silly:

hmm, strange, however I did do some research for this kind of issues,
and most of my finding stated it might to do with hardware issues (case where unable to boot normally, only download mode),
however, I do believe you can try with older version of firmware (probably last year?)
and try disable "auto-reboot" on the odin,
upon odin stated "reset" quickly pull out the battery (providing the screen is completely closed/off)
and try to reboot into recovery mode by it combinational keys, "volume up + home + power" (hold it a bit longer till samsung logo disappear) :silly:
I've even try to soft-bricked my S Plus, and try this one, seems I can boot both normally and recovery (to do wipe)

I tried using Kies too, but it did not work.:crying::crying::crying:
I was going to suggest the same thing. Try using Kies and go to Tools\Emergency firmware recovery and see if that works.

Yes, I can. One of my attached photos has shown as above. I tried to flash via ODIN or Smart Switch ( Kies 3), the program has shown OK but I still got the problem.

It is pretty hard to brick these phones. Just in case you have a bad file or something. Grab the zip and follow these instructions. I know that all these files in this zip are good so it is worth a shot.
Even if you know what you are doing, follow the instructions exactly, you may be overlooking something. It happens to everyone sometimes.

After you odin whichever firmware you flashed, wait about 10 min or so on that boot screen that is stucked. Then pull the battery out. Go into stock recovery but power+home+vol up. Then select wipe data/reset. Reboot and it should boot just fine.
At least that's how i fixed my phone that stuck few times like what you going through.

The problem is my phone can not access to stock recovery or TWRP recovery. It just stuck at first bootscreen which is shown "Samsung Galaxy Note 4 powered by Android", then restart and stuck again. So that I can not wipe data or reset to fix.

Since you can still get into download mode, what happens if you flash TWRP through ODIN? Step 10 in the instructions I posted assuming it is still rooted or start at step 8 if not. Just to see if you can get recovery working again.
You are wasting time...start over, it's your best and quickest fix....

[Q] Hard bricked S6 Help plz!

I rooted the S6 using cf auto root. I'm not quite a noob but please forgive my ignorance. I installed twrp and had been using the XtreStoLite rom for about a week. I was selling the phone so I wanted to reflash the rom so he could run through the setup him self. There were no problems flashing the rom. It was up and running. I was installing apps and the phone froze. I held down the power until it restarted. Now it is in an endless loop. The Galaxy S6 powered by android splash screen appears but it reloops before the Samsung splash screen appears. I can get the phone into download mode and I've tried to reflash the stock firmware, bootloader, stock recovery, everything. Odin recognizes the phone and it looks like it is working but as soon as it gets to NAND write it fails. I've been told it appears like the recovery partition was erased. I've used andnew versions of odin. My friend who knows a bit more than me tried backing up my working S6's efs and copying it to the bricked phone. He even did some stuff with my pit file. I'm at a total loss. I would send it back to Samsung but the phone is blacklisted by T-mobile and I don't want them to repo it. Any help is greatly appreciated and I would happily make a donation to anyone who can help me.
I guess I'll be the bearer of bad news here... You're screwed... Most likely. There is, however, a 0.0001% chance you can find someone who can make a copy or port of their recovery partition and TRY to put it on your device. This seems like a long shot, but it may be your only bet.
Don't count on this, as I have never personally seen it done before.

I didn't read it all that you attempted Odin...
KEEP IN MIND
You have to odin the same firmware build you had on it stock So if it was OJC build YOU have to use Ojc You cannot go from a newer 5.1.1 build to one earlier anymore So try the latest build OJC
It won't fail I bet .
Duh. ???
Pp.
I have the same problem and when i turn to the download mode is written another model. I have tried several steps in odin came back failed. Anyone can help please support me.....
What's on the boot screen? If it says FRP Locked or something similar, you need to go into download mode (if possible), connect to ODIN and flash the stock ROM from Sammobile.com. It will flash the stock kernel, ROM, etc. DO NOT reboot your phone. Go to your settings, unlock developer options, and toggle OEM Unlock OFF. Then you can reboot your phone and attempt rooting again.
literally same **** happened to me homie
just did this ****

Tmobile bricks the phone once someone black lists it and if you flash stock firmware...... always have custom rom installed and disable all network bands on dialer *#2263#

GT-I9295 Brick? Stock ROM fail on system.img.ext4 in Odin

Hi all.
A newbie, I ended up lost after trying to flash the latest CM 12.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active GT-I9295.
At first, there was an issue with the recovery, which upon entering showed black screen instead of the tool itself.
Trying to fix this, I managed to remove the recovery through flashing the Stock ROM, which has failed in Odin on the "system.img.ext4" instead - could not paste screenshot link here, feel free to ask for it, please!
I must say that I have tried hard to figure out what to do with the mess I have caused, but now I am helpless.
Would anyone give me some nice piece of advice to get my phone going again?
Thank you so much!

Did you try odin 3.10 by any chance? That could be the problem. Use odin 3.07 or 3.09, boot manually into download mode with complete shutdown & using vol down + power key and odin the stock ROM, reboot and do the same with TWRP (hold down the vol up key after flashing recovery when it is rebooting)

Hi there, Jason.
Yes, I did exactly as you say - got to the download mode, plugged in, ran Odin (tried 3.10, 3.09 and 3 v1.85) started flashing the latest Stock ROM and the I only got as far as the "system.img.ext4", when the download failed. Sometimes that happened even earlier, saying that there was no PIT etc.
When trying to flash the CWM recovery, it goes through OK, but then when trying to get into it, the screen just goes black, as described in my previous thread - "CWM or TWRP Recovery Black Screen".
I am stuck.
But I still hope that I am not a proud brick owner

Hi. Try this:
Remove the battery and USB cable from your phone, and wait at least 3 seconds.
Place the battery only back in your phone.
Fingers on volume down and home, then another on power. (cold boot directly into download mode - this is important!)
Press up to enter download mode.
Insert USB cable into phone and lie it down somewhere it won't move or be touched during the flash.
Download a good current copy of Odin from:
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/Odin_3.10.7.zip
Extract the archive and run Odin.exe
Download this emergency recover tar for your device (newest firmware revision available as of right now):
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/recover/BL_I9295XXUDPA4_RECOVER.tar.md5 (also has official TWRP 3.0.0-2)
Insert "BL_I9295XXUDPA4_RECOVER.tar.md5" in the [BL] slot.
In the Options tab put an [✔] in the "Phone Bootloader Update" checkbox.
If you don't have anything you need on your internal storage, put an [✔] in the "Nand Erase All" checkbox.
Click [Start].
Once the progress bar is near finished, place your fingers on volume up and home to enter directly into official TWRP 3.0.0-2.
If you used the "Nand Erase All" feature earlier, you will need to go into Wipe -> [Format Data] -> type "yes" for your data partition to be usable again.
Hopefully this will get you past your black screen issues.
PS. Remember to flash stock boot.img with your system.img.ext4, as you cannot boot a ROM without a matching boot image.

Need Help with Galaxy Note 4

Anyone please help. I am fairly new too the whole Android scheme of things and everywhere I look I see gibberish all talk about Roms and flashes and I don't know what to do. I have a Galaxy Note 4 in a rebbot loop, I tried to root with this thing called kingo root. And I rebooted my phone and it doesn't turn on it goes to the T-Mobile screen then powers off and repeats the process. I need to know how to factory reset the phone. I already tried to wipe the phone in recovery and same problem. I don't want a root or custom OS I just want to get the phone working. And as dumb down as possible. I'm so used to the one click jailbreak on iPhone and not the complexity of rooting and it screwed me over. I just want to know how to reset the phone and get it working.
Thanks
Lollipop 5.1.1 was what it was running and I have an SD Card if I need to reset from external since ik that's an option.

Look on here how to Odin 5.1.1. Thatll give you a fresh start. I suggest staying away from kingoroot or king root. Use cf-autoroot.

This could help you also - you could try to re-root and flash the kernel in this video that should get you going.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDCTQtCaUig
Look for a program called odin 3.10 and dl it to deaktop. Then dl 5.1.1 firmware . Also dl twrp 2.8 or higher . Once you have everything put phone into dl mode by holding power ,home and volume down. Once in dl open up odin and connect your phone to computer. Click pda and look for the twrp and flash it. Once done put phone into recovery by pressing power, home and up volume. Once in recovery wipe to factory reset. Now put phone back into dl mode and do the same with the firmware you dl. Make sure you extract the 5.1.1 file and it's a tar so you can flash it. Once it's ready flash the tar and you should be back to stock with no problem.
