[REQUEST] Xposed screenshot options - Xposed General

I've been searching for a similar module and I can't seem to find any, or maybe I'm using the wrong words.
It'd be amazing to have a module where you can control the screenshot quality for example "I have a 1080P screen, so each screenshot is 2 MB", And sending mass amounts of screenshots to someone would take forever, unlike my old Xperia P where screenshots were no bigger than 250kb.
I know that'll affect the quality, but that's exactly what some people need, smaller screenshots, the quality doesn't matter.
Another useful option would be the "full" screenshot, such as in Note series, being able to a screenshot including all the scrollable area, not just what's visible on the screen, like screenshotting the whole website without scrolling through it all in separate pictures, etc.
It'd be so helpful if Someone would point me to a certain tool that does that, thanks!

PictureViewer - call for developers, designers, and beta-users

Hi all,
The idea is to create an amazing picture viewer for Android, free, open-source, and community powered. This thread is a call for Android developers, designers, and users so that we can kickstart this project.
IMO, we should start by:
1) users saying what they would like to see in a picture viewer app (in terms of UI, features, ...)
2) gathering a team of developers - everyone is welcome independent of their skill level (if you just want ot learn as we go thats great too)
3) gathering a team of designers - same as above
4) creating a few app concepts (devs and designers involved)
5) kick-off development
6) iterate the app with users feedback
So anyone (dev, designer, user) that is interested please post here the skills you are willing to contribute with, and your preferred way of communication, and project management software (IM, forum, etc)
So... what are you waiting for, get involved!
Cheers,
about me: I am the developer of RockOn (http://abrantix.org/rockon.php)
I'm in! I will be the token learner! My prefered form of contact/conversation is IM and email. I have accounts for all of the major messengers.
As for concept ideas, the ability to swipe to change picture is very high on my list. Also, as mentioned in the rock on app thread, a layout similar to the rock on layout would be nice for thumbnail viewing.
yeah, i'm happy to help out =]
I might be able to help out. Either development or testing. I prefer email, but also have Google Talk. As for project management, whatever works for everyone else works for me.
Sounds good to me. I am a C/Linux guy who dabbles in Java when he has to. I have almost no GUI skills that lead to anything besides functionality, I am an engineer. I prefer IM or group chat for lengthy design discussions.
As far as functionality I would personally like, I think the RockOn look/feel is pretty close:
Basic:
- scrolling list of thumbnails (maybe like a film roll?) while showing a larger version of the active item in the scrolling film roll
- tap any image to see full screen (best fit maximize, best fit crop, possibly scale to fit (yuck))
- auto rotate of course
- slideshow in order or random with variable delay time in seconds (1,2,5,10,15, tap only)
- optionally override screen timeout when on charger and on battery
Advanced:
- ability to rotate/delete/edit pictures
- show any picture info (mainly titles/when taken/where taken)
- transitions, possibly opengl?
- select background music playlist (which is part of why I thought RockOn was such a good fit)
- defined slideshows (like playlists for music) (maybe as easy as selecting what directories should be in this slideshow and what playlists to use for music)
- widget control to select and start/resume a slideshow (or maybe just a shortcut per slideshow?)
- show subdirectories like the built in picture viewer does? (by creating custom thumbnails)
Really out there stuff:
- integrated media station for pictures/music/movies since they can all benefit from a nice coherent GUI frontend

All very good points, I agree 100%. I'd like to add "browse pictures by swipe" to that list though, and double-tap to zoom in and double-tap-hold(xxx ms) to reset zoom.
I don't know the first thing about java/coding, but I have experience in graphical design (Android themes/icons/etc).
Unfortunately, I have so little experience with linux that I might as well know nothing and I'm going deeper C++ so no Java yet =( and no knowledge of GUI programming either) but I do have a suggestion, you could try a format similar to the ScatterView that is on Microsoft Surface, there is already source code that somewhat does this made my Luke Hutchinson for multitouch In the middle of this page If there is anything I can help with I would be more than happy to.
BTW: I prefer E-Mail/IM for communication ([email protected])
Take a look at the LOL Cats application. The picture browsing is great, left right swipt to navigate, up swipe to go to "film strip" and tap to zoom. It doesn't have all the features we'd be looking for but it would be a start. Perhaps they'd be willing to share some code.
I will be happy when any developer add multitouch (like in browser from JF )
and gesture
Alright so we have a few people interested in joining already, and nice ideas to start with. Let's schedule a date for an IRC/MSN/Skype conference to kick this off and start creating some app concepts and distributing tasks.
As for myself, I am really into animation-related stuff like rotations, translations, and 3d-like whenever possible. Id also like to add features for automatic categorization of pictures (for instance making dynamic albums by data- last week/month/6 months/whatever -, location, or even image similarity).
I will have a few hours Wed April 29, 2009 say 9pm-11pm EST.
Busy Thursday / Friday.
I will be free Sat May 2, 2009 after 6pm EST or pretty much any time Sun May 3, 2009 8am - 10pm EST.
@bjehsus, nEx.software, mannyb - Check your PMs
@knoxbrder - check you email (sent via the forums).
Ok well to help out with the project I'm trying to find out how to code the inertial movement for teh scatterview. If anyone has any ideas please E-Mail me ([email protected])
Edit: Please note that I have very little knowledge of Java so it will be in C++ syntax but should be easily translated from what I've been told
I am not a dev and can't really contribute to your work. However, please allow me to make one suggestion....
You already noted that you may wish to integrate the following:
widget control to select and start/resume a slideshow (or maybe just a shortcut per slideshow?)
I would suggest that you integrate a widget into your app. The widget could act like an table top lcd picture frame in which the photos change periodically.
Long press on the widget could open up the full app. Closing the app returns to the home screen with the widget on the screen.
Also, please make it so that the user can designate a folder for the widget, and one (+ the widget folder) for the full app. That way a user could have family photos alternating in the picture frame widget folder, but when the full app opens the user could look at all of the photos (widget file + regular file).
You would also have an icon in the app grid for those who didn't want to use the widget.
Just my $.02. I'm excited to see your progress and will be willing to be a beta tester if you want. I like to have photos of my wife as my "desktop" but, love photos in general. I've been waiting for an app like this!!
Thanks for considering these ideas.
***Note: If you consider working on the widget first you could enter the widget into the contest and then build the app after the widget. Just something to consider.***
maybe you can PM haykuro / JF to help you get the kernel for multi-touch and incorporate that into your photo viewer :]]
i would so pay for this!

Camera Easy [free]

Hi
this is my latest creation, an easy camera app,
in short words, you can change the resolution on the fly and all commands (like resolution zoom etc.) are on camera screen.
And More when you click the image just shot don't blocks visual so you can shoot more fast.
here's the link to market
windowsphone-com/en-US/apps/1aa27aa6-5991-4798-97e3-73df8446db76
and this is the "official" text:
Camera Easy is a “easy to use” and practical camera application.
No complicated settings,
no unnecessary menus and submenus,
all settings are fast, minimal, easy to understand, and mains of these are on camera display, to avoid unnecessary clicks.
One important feature is that once a photo is taken, camera will not display image just taken, but continue to display camera image stream, so is fast to take multiple photos.
these are the main features:
- Self-timer
- Resolution, flash, self-timer, are all on camera display
- Digital Zoom
- Local photo gallery, with multiple rename, delete… to
- Save to phone gallery button
- Sound on / sound off
- Help screen
- Metro UI
- Free
thanks for attention

Nice App.
Can you add date and time stamp just like WM 6.5?

Thanks for comment , can you explain me better please, you mean in the foto...?
thanks
nice app
that's work fine
Can you also modify or add a widescreen resolution in the settings?.. and then label it with "6MP (16:9)" or "4MP (16:9)"?
Photos looks better this way in my opinion.
Looking forward to it, thanks for a nice app. I'll recommend it to my friends.

Hi I've upload a video on youtube for better explain how camera easy works on wp7, just a video help, here the link:

I can't write links so subst _ with /
thanks
ok here's link and video I've found the way to post a link
http://youtu.be/BVk9XLsKvME
nice app
Thanks
very promising indeed, but you could add:
*Tap screen to autofocus+shoot
*theme colored buttons
*option to aways start on "take photo" mode
*remake flash icon to a thunder-arrow-like (flash icon usually is one); the actual icon looks like bright settings, therefore isnt so intuitive
*drop "owner identity" permission
>rotate pic(s) before save to galery
>while viewing a photo on "photos", slide left/right to show previous/next taken photo
>change icons to ones more like default camera app
>zoom buttons feels more confortable on the right(?)
## "overtake" camera shutter button (like the lumos app does to turn on/off his led flashlight)
"*" means the fundamental things are missing, in my humble opinion
">" means secondary tweaks,
"##" means utopia: all previous tweaks were achieved, people now use camera easy as their default camera app, pinned to their start screen, so now the one step left is to completely overtake the camera button
but offcourse, this are only my opinion; you may use them or not
but if you do, i'll be more then happy to beta-test it!
cheers

glad i could help =)
about the "> Tap screen to autofocus+shoot", you mean you r not sure if its usefull/fundamental or if its possible?
Either way, it feels fundamental for me because of how precise it is (on the native app at least, as the physical button pressing may shake your phone and ruin the photo).
About it impossibleness, i think i test other camera app with this function, im not sure. Maybe you could do your custom buttons as a "mask" on the default camera app? Well, i dont know if it even makes sense since im no developer myself =p
About the twitter, i think you do can add it on your profile or signature, but as im new here, i woudnt trust me =$
oh yes, another suggestion i just thought: multiple shots! =)
im rooting for updates
take care
I'm just wondering. Why is the owner identity necessary?
Hi thanks again for your feedback, about autofocus "> Tap screen to autofocus+shoot"
is possible, but I not see the needs, bytheway I've seen somethings like that some mouth ago, but I see something like hold = focus and once focus shot...
and multiple shot is on the way
to npoe: ??? what you mean?
In the marketplace there is a list of function that the app uses and listed are:
Camera
Owner Identity
Music and Video Library
Phone Identity
Data services
Basically I would like to know why owner identity and maybe phone identity are used or necessary.

ok this is what microsoft add reading xap, I dunno how avoid this, and set only what I really need... in this case:
Camera!
Music and Video Library is put because I've include some lib to manipulate image (this lib made by microsoft, contains other services), data service I think and Phone Identity is used by microsoft ads...
it's the same for Owner Identity,
just to be clear nobody look your name, tel. number, but maybe ads service can put just something like cookie... so no fear...
for other question I'm here
Thanks for the answer. I just gave it a try and the app is fast; I'll try to find something cool to take some photos and let you know my comments.

Extracting Both Images from P9 Dual Camera

Hi All,
I am trying to test some image analysis applications with the Huawei P9. Is it possible to extract two images (one from each camera) from a single shot? I know one of the cameras has a monochrome lens, and I know how to obtain just the monochrome image, but it would be extremely valuable if I could obtain both images from just one shot.
Looking forward to your assistance,
Josh
I do not want to stop your enthusiasm, but from my tests, they don't exists two images from one shot.
I didn't do my tests with an engineering approach, I only did some empirical test and from these I gather that:
- when you setup the Monochrome mode, the P9 activates the left camera (on the left when facing the phone back)
- with all the other modes, the P9 activates the right camera (the one between the flash and the left camera)
The P9 doesn't create 2 images, than combine them, it just shot always 1. How I came to this conclusion? You can also try it at home:
I choosen few static subject and I made my photos with the phone on tripod, than I did many photoshoots in the normal way and also by covering alternately the 2 cameras with a black scotch tape.
Even by naked eye, even by using an image comparation software (I used Beyond Compare from Scooter Software) I found no difference at all, no more brightness, no more contrast, no better image definition.
I did in a bright environment, in a dark one, I enabled and disabled the PRO mode and I tried to do a testing more complete as I could (honestly, I omitted to test the image in RAW mode, I tested only JPEGs), but my conclusion is that the 2 cameras are doing a different job, but they are definetely NOT working together.
Thanks for testing, but did you also try this outside on a landscape view? Maybe then we will see other results?
Otherwise this is yet ANOTHER thing Huawei lied about.
Yes, I did.
I'm thinking about making a full post about photo comparation. Let's see

That would be nice!
Hey guys. I did a quick test shooting in bokeh mode or aperture effect (I guess you know what I mean). If you cover the black and white lense it lets you shoot the picture BUT NOT edit the depth of field once you took the picture.
If you uncover the lense, it works like it is supposed and also stores the depth information (two lenses are crucial to get depth information).
Thus, in order to extract two images from one shot, the best guess is that you try it in bokeh mode. But even then I dont know if its possible. However, the phone definitely uses both lenses that time.
Great oTToToTenTanz!
I confirm that! Both cameras are essential to enable the wide aperture effect: when you try to shoot in the bokeh mode it appear an alert to check if the lens is clear, the blurred effect disappears and it's impossible to edit the depth in post-production.
I make 2 hypothesis:
- the phone really combines the 2 pictures in order to recreate the depth (is a strategy used in all the 3D cameras), so in some way there should be the possibility to get both pictures
- the phone uses the laser pointer to shot IR around the subject, then the monochrome camera will get the infrared information (and considering that its lens is without the RGB filter, will be very efficient to do that) and store them in order to obtain an accurate depth (I mean something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgrMVp7fMIE)
Nice things to try!
Additional Info on Depth

Hey oTToToTenTanz,
Really appreciate your (and everyone else's) help on this! Can you give me some more info on how you actually extract the depth info in a usable form e.g. a matrix? Does the image just produce an RGB-D image once saved?
Thanks so much,
Josh
Yes unfortunately I think this is simply a feature that huawei lied about. The phone doesn't actually use both lenses at the same time to produce better quality normal photos; the monochrome lens is only used for bw mode or to obtain depth information for the wife aperture mode. The two lenses are not used in conjunction to provide better low light performance. You can try it yourself as stated earlier in the thread, cover the bw lens with your finger and compare the photos with normal ones: they'll look the same...
As far as I understand it, there are two cases in which both cameras are used.
One is for the wide-aperture ("bokeh") mode, in which a depth map is created from both pictures that have a slightly different perspective. I've read somewhere that the resulting image is a normal JPG file that is way too large, so it seems that there is additional data after the end of the actual JPG image. This would also explain why the capability to adjust depth of field is lost once the file is opened and saved by any application. I'll have a look at such a file when I have some spare time; maybe I'll find out more.
The other case is landscape shots in low light. Several people reported that covering the second camera in this scenario results in much darker images. This seems like a silly limitation, but I believe I understand why it's there. The two images that the cameras take differ in perspective (obviously, due to the fact that the cameras are mounted next to each other), which is quite difficult to adjust for when trying to combine both sensors' data. However, when focusing at infinity, for example when taking landscape shots, the difference in perspective is negligible, so that in this case the two sensors' data can be easily combined to improve low-light performance.
Maybe it would be possible to combine both sensors' output at closer distances in a satisfactory way, but it seems that Huawei chose not to implement that. If I find a way to extract the second sensor's data from a wide-aperture image, I'll poke around a bit to see if it would be possible to combine them.
I did some poking around on my lunch break. I threw a wide-aperture image into JPEGsnoop and it came up with two images in the file (four if you count the thumbnails, as well), the first one being the processed, "bokeh" image, while the second is the original color image without any processing. I assume that this is the image that is used to re-process the wide-aperture image when editing the focus point or aperture through the gallery app.
JPEGsnoop also told me that there's more data after the image segments. Since it couldn't work out what that data is for (this is past the end of the actual JFIF file), I checked it out using a hex editor. I found a marker "edof" (extended depth-of-field?) followed by what looks like some header data, followed lots of repeating bytes. This block is about 1/16 the size of the image in pixels (so 1 byte for each 4x4 pixel block). I'm not sure whether that's a small greyscale version of the image itself or a depth map, but I suspect it's the latter.
So, I'm afraid that it will be impossible to extract the monochrome image sensor data from a wide-aperture image, as it's not there anymore.

I confirm that: I did few shots on a single subject (always using tripod);
- the pictures in normal mode and with wide aperture with the BW camera covered results in 2.5 MB weight (max resolution; the photo's Title/Subject/Description is marked as "edh"
- the same subject in wide aperture mode (with the BW camera fully working) results in 5.5 MB weight (more than double); the photo's Title/Subject/Description is marked as "edf"; if this photo is opened with some image editing software, no alpha layers or other visual information appears anywhere; if the photo is saved back, the size will became comparable to the same photo without wide aperture effect
As depth information are not appearing in any editing software, I suppose they are hidden inside the jpeg file with some kind of steganography technique. I tried to examine the file with some ready-to-use tool (like stegdetect, that should be capable to detect if a jpeg file is standard or has something hidden) but I get only some mismatching header error, nothing that can let me understand where and how the depth information are stored and, primarily, if the black and white picture is also stored inside.
The cam seems to be making two Images for every shot. You can for - instance - make a picture and then edit it with the onboard effects. If i make the picture e.g. partially B&W, I can see, that it does use an original B&W picture taken with the original shot. This is not an artificial B&W.
The question is, where it is stored or are the necessary informations only "combined"?
PerpulaX, ScareIT you guys are right,
- the 992x744 depth map is coded on 8 bits at the end of the file, use HxD editor to extract the image (check the tags in ascii code "edof" & "DepthEn" ).
- displayed jpg is the saved one after blur processing on your sd card
- hidden jpeg in exif is the original image shot , without blur processing.
So it explains why you can re-edit your picture anytime on your P9 even after renaming... or simply have fun with the depth map for detouring in photoshop for instance
Made a python script to automate the EDOF and image extraction. It's simple but it works.

Hy!
I think, that P9 does take two pictures and combines them in low light conditions. Here is two example, when something went wrong with the combination of images, and the two images becomes visible: https://goo.gl/photos/cK5q2TEisEU7rmpz9
What do you think?
Abel
So the file size is increased when B&W is uncovered but gives no actual benefit to the picture? Damn it, as useless as Interpolation!

Photo editor pro is missing on android Pie

Hi
I just updated my Note 9 with android Pie and my favourite function for editing photos is missing now.On oreo I had the option in photo editor to add another picture to my actual photo when I wanted to edit...now this editor doesn't have this function to insert a picture to the actual photo ...Is anything missing here, or is just me?
I Still have the option to add another photo in a photo. In Samsung Galary edit the picture, pick to add a sticker and choose your second picture.
Thank you..I thought they removed this option.
Photo editor pro
You can add only stickers but no photo from gallery;( Anybody knows how to fix that????
Its ridiculous. I was hoping this was because I was on pie beta. Apparently not. They keep cutting little tweaks and features here and there.

People need to make noise over at Samsung fourms or direct msg Samsung via members app! ONE UI PIE 9 has taken away so much.. it's a becoming a joke!
Great... I thought i wasn't going mad, just really disappointed it's gone, it was extremely useful.
Option is not gone, just hidden.
You just need to go under stickers. On the default page by the calenders and such there's one that looks like a white square with rounded corners. Choosing that will open the gallery and allow you to insert an image.
Why we dont have an assist to prevent rotate images and stickers while scaling them. They always rotate!
Where is this "calendar" icon in stickers? I'm not finding it on my note 9
this update sucks, does anyone know how to adjust the "Effect" like "cartoon there use to be an adjusting sliding bar....I don't have it anymore Please help..this is so confusing and messing up my editing
Thank you guys for helping me find out how to do the photo-in-photo edit! In photo editor pro, where that function used to be, there used to be an option to add Covers- which are blurred/censored effects for thing you wants covered- anyone know if that was hidden and accessible as well or completely removed like a lot of features
I'm using a Samsung note 8
edit it's actually missing some pro features
I just updated today my self and I was searching for photo editor pro for ages, It's actually still there when you view the picture it's self you'll see a little pencil symbol second from the left on the bottom of the screen all of the pro features are there for you to use.
They could of told us though.
Thanks guys, I managed to locate it. I was also going crazy about that as I struggled after upgrading to Pie.
Android Pie Gallery: I've found Photo Editor Pro!
Sorry - but the photo-editor Pro features are NOT all there - e.g. Where is the "Advanced" button with the feature I used so often, i.e. "Backlight"?? Can't find it...
Correction: EUREKA - I found it!!
with a picture open, click the Pencil-symbol and THEN the three dots at the top right where you have the items "Portrait / Point color / Advanced. Tap "Advanced" and there we go -EVERYTHING that was under Oreo.
So the difference is that the three dots when you open the picture do not offer the editor pro, but AFTER tapping the pencil you get another three-dots menu, where you find the functions . In essence: it's just ONE step more than before - I can live with that )
Complete happiness!
Seems like a serious drill down... But at least it's there! Cheers
I can't find these options that I have circled. The 'covers' doesn't seem to be anywhere, and you can't toggle an image that is inserted as you could before, you can only make it bigger and smaller and move it around, more basic than before. Uff!

Project : petition to get true fullscreen under developer options (no more black bar)

Hi dear members.
Long story short, i am fed up with the display setting that it's supposed to force fullscreen on selected apps but that does nothing 90% of the time at best. I also noticed that many people over here and reddit hoped that developpement would help bringing this to life with time.
I see that we couldn't find a sustainable solution for this, no modding, no rooting, no custom rom...
Only "app cloner" manages the result but doesn't work with many apps.
I wish we could have a developer option allowing the notch to be ignored system wide. Even if it means losing that circle portion of the display with app details being rendered behind the punch hole.
I bought into losing a small circle, not an entire portion of my screen. End result is that the screen panel is bigger than the galaxy s9 (or my previous lg v30) but in reality there is less usable screen space with this phone.
If we manage, all of our apps could take advantage of the entire screen. Too many apps are cut on top or on the side (landscape). Other 16/9 apps arend centered (fullscreen browser videos, many games, video editing software,... I always went "immersive mode" with all my previous devices but with the Galaxy s10, that's impossible except for (almost exclusively) the gallery app and YouTube.
TLDR : i wish we could get true immersive mode system wide if we wanted to.
I would like us to launch a petition that we would show Samsung via Twitter or something. English not being my native language, is also need help to write it's description in a concise way.
If enough people would mind being part of this, or helping for visibility (like push for a front page article on xda, share with the other s10, s10e, s10+, note 10 forums...) That would be great. Not only for our devices, as power users but also, for future buyers since the gs11 will most likely have the same notch as the note 10 series.
Many thanks in advance !!
note 10 plus fullscreen immersive
Thanks much for posting this. I'm up to as well to get this done. I have done the immersive on other Samsung phones, s9 plus, note 9. Believe it or not this was the main reason I went on to upgrade to the this phone with the main purpose of doing the ADB Commands and get it full immersive but little did I know this is not possible with the note 10 plus. it's a disgrace that Noone seems to care about this
What apps specifically don't work with full screen. Everything I use is full screen and if not I change the aspect ratio on the app settings and it works fine.

It is definitely possible.
Search for "notch" module in Magisk.
Install it and then go to Settings-Developer-Notch -> select last one, no cutout.
Now immersive mode will actually be full screen. Problem is, right padding needs adjusting, otherwise the status bar icons will sit underneath the camera.
-----
It's not like samsung dev hasn't thought about it. But they went in the end with the lesser devil, disable the whole notch bar.
The main problem being that apps will not know to go around the camera. Nor have dynamic paddings for icons and buttons.
So for example with immersive mode on (full screen, no black bar) on all apps. You will notice that almost every app has the three dotted button, icon in the corner, which will be hidden under the camera. Samsung QC will never officially allow this.
Perhaps that's why Note10, S20 and the others, have the camera in the middle. Using immersive mode, will not cover much important info, so we might see it in the future on those phones.
But as it stands, S10 (or any corner cutout phone) will not display apps correctly, hence there will never be an official fix.
-----
Pro tip: Instead of enabling system-wide immersive mode and get frustrated in some apps, I remember there was a paid app, granular immersive, or something. Which allow you to enable full screen only on some apps.
But Magisk notch module has to be installed in any case.

TL;DR!!!
LOL jk man
if anything is going to get this done, itll have to be a device-wide system update that will be a major PITA for Samsung. I personally believe that not having this option is a literal mistake and to correct it, theyll have to admit that it was a f**k up from the get go. Im betting that "GoodLock" is going to be our best bet to get this accomplished as it is allowed root access from Samsung and its written by Samsung, so it can allow this "personal preference" that they should have built in in the first place.
Id bug the goodlock folks. Its probably your only hope

Is possible to achieve it Now. Download system UI tuner. Connect phone to laptop and execute adb commands to hide the navigation bar. Disconnect phone, go to galaxy store, download Good Lock, then open up the app then download multistar . Open multistar go to the last option to stretch The screen over the camera hole. Chose options to all.... Now go to system UI tuner and select hide navigation bar.... that's all
