Honor 4x Che2-L12 internal storage showing up as 3.64gb? - Honor 4x Questions & Answers

Hey Guys,
I tried googling this issue, searching it but cannot find much.
Ever since I upgraded to EMUI 3.0 Lollipop my 8GB internal storage has gone down to 3.64gb. I have since upgraded my device to EMUI 4.0 Marshmallow and i'm still having the same problem... any ideas on how to fix this issue?
My device version is Che2-L12.
Greatly appreciated,
Neucjc

Yes, that's all of the available memory. I'm searching for some kind of solution for this but for now without success. I've tried APP2SD and LINK2SD but they aren't working properly on EMUI with Marshmallow.

Link2SD didnt work properly on MM B515, but Apps2SD does work properly on MM B515. Im using Apps2SD now on B515, no problems. Just root B515 with TWRP + Magisk + Phh Superuser. 128gb, 8gb of it as Ext4, rest is ExFat. Ignore the fact that its a Link2SD screenshot, as I'm only using it for freezing stuffs.

Standard stuff. Advertise as 8gb, but max for usage is 3.64gb. Same stuff as in 16gb Galaxy S2. Advertise as 16gb, got 11gb instead. Reason: System ROM is also included in that advertised 16gb. Same goes with a 500gb as NTFS, you got 465gb shown instead.

Hi,
I just looked how much free space my internal storage has and notice, that instead of 16GB total it shows 11,07GB. Where is 5GB? Does notes system eat that much space or what?
This is maybe noob question, but i've read that ppl have lost some of their notes memory when wiped/restored in XXLPY. I did wipe cache and dalvik when i was in that Rom, but nothing bad happened then. I flashed to abyssnote 4.2 kernel and reverted back to GB after we heard, that XXLPY was dangerous. Now i've been in Asylum ICS about two weeks and no problems so far.

Noone lost memory when flashing, you need to read up on that.
However what you describe is normal because the system uses the "lost" memory so there's nothing to worry about.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Yeah, the system installation has to use some of the 16gb, and also the 2gb you have for application storage also has to use some of your internal storage.
No phone actually gets its full internal storage capacity, they all lose 4-5gb for these same reasons
Ftb
i think its something like:
2gb for system + 2gb for user data/apps + loss of GB/bytes conversion + whatever is left for mass storage

Thanks!
To be specific, someone lost a part of storage (7GB) when his note bricked and he got it recovered back. I read it here in xda, but don't remember what topic it was. This pop up first in my mind when i looket my storage and notice, that it wasn't 16GB. I haven't looked before my memory info. Good to know, everything is the way it should.
Thank you everybody for your help!

Liquid Black 3.2.1 SD Card bug?

Hey there
first off hats off to firman and the guys who released the Liquid Black Rom V3.2.1. never had i found a smoother and faster rom for my device (clocked 8455 on AnTuTu with a Notecore standard kernel).
That being said, today i woke up and realized that the external card isnt showing up on the device once its booted. i can access it via the recovery and it also shows up when i plug my unit into the USB slot. This was working fine last night. what could be done? i have done the basic steps of flashing the OS over, wiped cache, factory restore etc etc. i REALLY do not wanna move from this ROM and if anyone can point me in the direction i need to be looking at would be really helpful.

Ps am on the new Hydracore atm. just flashed and redid the vold.ftab again

i had to edit the vold.ftab files to read as the attached file. i am on the newest hydra kernel and the bug exists.
The original vold.ftab reads the 1st line as SDCARD 11 and the 2nd as EMMC. swapping them around gets me access to everything on my SD card again.

funny thing is when i flashed the standard version of the Notecore and the associated kernels on Liquid Black V 3.2.1 the card works fine without having to edit the vold.ftab file. Weird?

The mount script works properly. But if i try to move apps to my sd card i got every time the message pakage invalid.

Crazy_Oni,
Let me ask a question or 3.
Can you see the SDcard mount folders on your device ?
What paths are they showing up under ?
Can you create files within these folders from Android ?
I personally have not found it necessary to create 2 folders on my 64GB MicroSD.
I am using 1 64GB NTFS partition and I am successfully relocating (moving and accessing) folders to the MicroSD from both Windows and Android, without using any apps to do it.
It looks like this.
I remounted it with link2sd a few times but it didn't work. Viebahn can't link apps to it.

[ROM][UBR] First Ever Android 9.0 for Nexus 5 [29/08/2018]

I have something new for you!
It is based on Unlegacy Android Project 9.0 CAF Beta. This UBR contains some useful tools that can be easily uninstalled.
What does UBR stand for?
The letters UBR stand for Update By Recovery - this is a very non conventional way of flashing (invented by me).
This backup does not contain the EFS partition which holds your personal IMEI number, that's why you can use it on any Nexus 5 phone!
Features:
One-click Upgrade Process
Super Smooth Android 9.0
A mixture of both CAF and AOSP
Flash Friendly File System (F2FS)
Google Pixel 3 Experience
Unlimited Google Drive storage
Google Lens and Adaptive Icons
Magisk Manager 16.7 (ROOT)
Rounded Screen Corner
CloudFlare DNS
Built-in AdAway ad blocker
Why it is so BIG?
The size of the project is 1.26GB (ROM + OpenGApps Nano + other Google apps + Tools & Modules).
After installation you can remove all unwanted apps including Magisk (Unroot).
Requirements:
All you need is Google Nexus 5 16/32GB smartphone with TWRP 3.2.3.0 (Team Win Recovery Project) installed.
Download:
I'm not providing any links, but you can find the project site on <Mod Edit>
so far so good, but i think it needs better ram management, havent installed ny apps and only has 570 -640 ram free should be like 1.1 gb and sometimes camera stops working while recording video
---------- Post added at 03:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:46 AM ----------
What is invented here? This is just a backup file of Unlegacy ROM with added additional mods installed from different devs, right?
And the misleading name! First Ever!
Google cam 5.1 hdr wont work and completely buggy.
Unlimited storage? Google patched that years back, right? It just shows unlimited but actually it would count against your storage.

Really? I dedicate my time and energy to create the easiest solution for beginners.
Show me who else uses backups for installing ROMs?
I've been using this nickname since running Windows on the Nokia N95 in 2009.
You can uninstall camera app and install better one.
I didn't know that (use Mega.nz with 50GB instead of 15 GB).
If you don't like it, don't use it!

Are you kidding me? You have right to mislead people in XDA that you are offering unlimited magical storage. But I have no right to criticize?
Also the backup file is some kind of invention by you!? And you are advertising it in other's ROM threads.
No, thanks. I dont want mega.nz's 50gb.
To say it simple, its a backup file. Not invention.
I'm working to improve the upgrade process even more!
I can update the Nexus 5 stock firmware 6.0.1 to Android 9.0 on unrooted phone (without access to a computer) - more details coming soon!
Ok, so wifi wont connect to hidden networks
Thanks for this rom. Well, I have one question. Is this rom based on aosp_hammerhead-9-20180829.CAF.zip or aosp_hammerhead-9-20180827.CAF.zip by amaces?

Slow writing speed and random freezes

Hello,
I've been owning my mi8 for a year now, and in the last few months i have been experiencing random lags and had to restore to factory defaults twice because the phone got stuck into recovery mode, after rebooting because lots of apps were crashing. I have tried to go back to an older miui version(10.1.2.0), try to use other roms like lineage os... But the problem persists. Recently i ran the androbench and i saw that the sequencial writting speed in my phone is much slower than other devices. Can someone confirm this? Can you help me fix it?
Thank you.

Hello, some weeks ago i sent the phone back to the store I bought it and they sent me a partial refund after confirming that it was faulty. The weird thing is that i started having troubles without messing with different roms. I unlocked the bootloader for the first time on that phone because i thought it was a software issue.

I talked to a few friends / android developers on other devices and several of them believe that this a TWRP issue.
I have not had any more of these issues since using this TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80952013&postcount=121

In my case i think it was a hardware issue because i had those issues with the stock recovery also. I tried orangefox recovery with the same result, but i think that this one is built on top of twrp.

For sure, a hardware issue, especially since it happened on the stock recovery.
For the record, the Chinese LR.Team builds the official Chinese TWRP, this version is based on their very own official build , but with extra features, not included in the official.
I stopped using the Orange fox version after dealing with persistence issue twice, that issue along with learning that that their releases are "blind builds" meaning the developers do not have a Mi8 themselves.
