Red Led at start

Hi guys
I tought I do a backup in cwm.
Always when I start the phone now, first the red LED lights on and then follows the purple LED with Recovery.
All works fine like before, no issues.
But whats the reason for the red LED?

well
before rooting and having recovery
there is no Red LED light up
so i would guess that the led light up for the reason to indicate when to press the Vol up/down button at start to enter recovery
I dont reboot to recovery
only boot/reboot and then press up/down (dual recovery) to enter recovery service
with out the red LED, might miss the window to enter recovery and overshoot to normal startup

It isn't that light for recovery.
The red light came after I did the nand backup. Before the backup it wasn't there. This is what I think is strange.
For the recovery is it purple light.
And how I wrote, I works normally yet. Only this red light at the beggining... Maybe I can do this evening a short clip to show it.

Hey mate.
I know it seems weird but this is the norm now that you've customised your phone. Don't worry about it. It's not a bad thing, just what will happen by default now.
Couldn't tell you why exactly though. Maybe one of the devs could.

Sony Xperia Z won't turn on [Red notification LED]

Hi all,
I have a Sony Xperia Z from my friend, the problem is that the phone won't turn on. I've been pressing all the button combinations (power + volume up; power + volume down; power + vol up + vol down), and nothing happens, no vibration, no Red LED blinking whatsoever.
The only "vital" sign it gives is the Red LED when you plug it on the charger or on the USB on the Pc (detects nothing).
I've left my device charge overnight (9+ hours) and nothing has changed.
My friend told me the phone kept rebooting it self (don't really know what caused this as himself couldn't explain) to the point the device didn't turn on anymore.
I really don't know what has happened to the phone. I've been trying to find on the forums about this but other people say the phone vibrates or the Red LED starts to blink, to my phone nothing!
Any help, suggestion, thought from personal experience is Highly appreciated!

Have you tried holding volume down when connecting it to your PC? That should enter Flashmode. If it does, then you can try flashing a stock rom.
If not, try volume up when connecting to your PC, which should enter Fastboot mode.
If none of those work, it looks like either a hardware error, or a corrupted bootloader. Neither of those are repairable by yourself.

hi, thanks, just tried that but it wont recognize at all, I've seen the device manager on my pc and nothing is detected at all. Just the notification LED, it gets Red and nothing happens.
Anything else I can try?
One more question, can I send it for repair to Sony, will my warranty cover it?

It sounds like it needs sending for repair then, unfortunately.
Edit - Yes, warranty should cover it.

[Q] Xperia Z1 C6903 won't turn up, just red light blinking

Hello, sorry if this question had been posted before. I just confusing with my Xperia Z1. It's just blank screen, no Sony logo, no boot animation, etc.
I've tried to hold power+vol up but nothing happen. When i put the charge on and i press the power+vol up, it vibrate three times and nothing happen.
What should i do with this?? I hope it's not hardware failure.

When you hear the three times vibration then you shutting down your phone and after that the phone is turned off completely, then leave it under wall charger via USB or Dock for minimum 4 hours, if it do not turn on then you have to flash a new Firmware OR Repair via PC Companion. Download Official Sony PC Companion and repair your phone. Other way is to use Flashtool and download the latest FTF from Mega Collection and flash it. Then it should turn on.

if nothing is happening just the LED red blinks even when you put the device in the charge, its hard bricked and will be fixed just with opening the phone and relive it with test point ...

If it's brick, no prob, let's begin
Requirements:
The latest Flash Tools version, the latest FTF file of your phone, or any FTF file you want
Plug your phone to AC charger for about one or two minutes, and if you see red LED, now your phone is OK
1) If your phone has more than 50 percent charges, you can unplug it
2) If it has less 50 percent, let it charge for about an hour or more till it reaches 70 percent
So, no matter the first way or second, after you unplug it, now you can now connect your phone via USB and flash it
If you do everything correctly and if nothing goes wrong, after flashing, you can use your phone without any problem
If you couldn't do it, inform me to help you more

Look at the micro sd slot. Is there a red stripe? Or white?
If red, it's a water damage

It happened exactly the same with mine. I was on stock rom, and went to the swimming pool with it. But the stripe is white.
I cannot turn it on and only get the red light blinking when is plugged into the charger...
Help...

Try the hard brick fix (if you have warranty send to Sony instead). I doubt it'll do anything because it seems by your decription the hardware is damaged physically, but its worth a shot.

I have the same problem !! PLS HELP !! THE PHONE IS DEAD !! My pc don`t recognize the phone !! no led... the phone not charging! what to do?? help please my z1 bricked today while updating Monster'$ Rom my Phone is entirely lifeless ... no LED light, NOTHING
When connect to PC... nothing at all happens, doesn't even pick up the phone!

Drain your battery completely
By Pressing and holding volume up and power button for 15 second, no vibration dont worry just hold it for 15 seconds and forget your phone for 1-2 days
Get working charger and usb cable check it then connect charger to phone there should be red light
Leave your phone for 3-4 hours
Now disconnect your phone from charger
Again check usb cable and drivers in pc
Open flashtool and get stock ftf ready for flashing
Once the dialog box appears with phone's animation
press and hold just volume down button and connect your phone with pc and immediately Release volume down button as soon as dialogue box disappears
Then disconnect phone when instructed in flashtool and wait for 4-5 minutes
Now try to turn on the phone.
Main thing is to have patience
This should work as i have my phone in same hardbricked state twice and this brought life in my phone back..!

I've had exactly the same problem, nothing but the blinking red light. I replaced the battery (around $6 on aliexpress) and the phone worked again!

I hope, your solution works for me too. I ordered a battery and waiting for delivering it. If it won't work, I'll write here to help someone like us who wants to order a new battery.
Edit:
After battery changing, the phone worked. I don't know why, but it had been locked and rebooted repeatedly. Then I resetted to the factory settings. After that, it has been started to run well.

So is the red LED just on for a short time then the pone stays on the sony logo, or is it a constant red LED, on the sony logo?
Can you hold down the volume and power buttons and does the phone vibrate.?

If the LED is on for short time it can be recovered
Use Flashtool to flash a new firmware to your phone
1. Get flashtool (get version 0.9.18.6)
2. Download stock firmware for your phone
3. Move downloaded firmware to the flashtool firmware folder
4. make sure you have all ADB drivers - and drivers for your phone
5. In flashtool click on the lighting icon and click the firmware you downloaded and click FLASH (wait for process to finish)
6. When it says, turn the phone off - hold the volume down button while plugging the phone in
7. should start flashing the firmware, just leave it to do its thing

Any firmware will do, it doesn't matter
Its all the same, just has different apps suited to the country really, and different basebands - but that no matter
usually when you charge it the red LED should stay on but this is probably due to your phone not completely booting

So my z3 is fine?.

Okay i see now... you have a Z3 in a Z3C Forum..
Okay for Z3 same steps, just use xperiafirm to find the firmware for your phone, and download it

I have a z3c too, bought it second hand with 5.0.1 on it. Now a second time it blacked out on me. The first time it just restarted after several days ... Now it wont startup or vibrate, troubleshooting is without any effect. Only red charging led when "charging" (slightly unstable brightness), the led stays on for 1 h or longer then switch off and stays off for 1 hr or longer. Then lights again, all by itself. I tried: powerbutton+volume up, powerbutton+volume down, small yellow button, keeping it away from charging. All nothing. PC-companion doesnot connect. Flashtool doesnot connect. Please advise.

If Flashtool/SUS/And Sony PC Companion don't work, then there is no option but to bring the phone to your nearest Sony Service Center and let them fix it

I maybe hard bricked my Xperia Z

So I tried to replace my screen on my Xperia Z c6603 and since then all i get is a red notification led for like 5-10 seconds. It is not flashing.. Sometimes I get this red notification led by pressing the power button, but that is very rare. Also I know for sure that my battery is not dead. I don't have any idea if it is bricked or if it is an hardware issue, I'm not able to find out which of those issues it is. And if I try to connect my phone to my computer, i will get the red notification light and my computer doesn't even discover the phone..
