Email from tmo to reserve new n7...not happy - T-Mobile Note 7 Questions & Answers

So today received an email stating I can call in to have my replacement note 7 sent in to a store near me. So I called and actually the process didn't have any wait time which was great considering every time I normally call, i have to go through the "we will call you back in xxx minutes. Now to issue I'm not happy about.....i asked the rep if I would be getting same color that I currently have (titanium) and he told he that he can't guarantee which color I'll be getting. I told him well if I'm not happy with the mystery color you're sending me, then I'm not exchanging the phone until I get the correct color. I'm not spending $800.00 on a phone and let them dictate my color especially when this whole recall b.s. isn't my fault. Did anyone else experience this?

I called to avoid the head ache of the store and got nothing. I was told to just go to a store tomorrow and call in before I go. So the number they provide is pointless. Called some stores today in Hampton Roads area Virginia and they said they won't have them til Wednesday. Also couldn't just reserve one either. So far not happy at all with this process.

I'm getting the color of my choice per the rep.. Maybe it wasn't a problem because I'm exchanging for the same color

I currently have titanium and asked for the same color.. I'm not even trying to change it.

At least you got an email. I signed up weeks ago for it and so far I have nothing. Called a corporate store last night where I got my loaner and they told me they will be instock today and to bring my loaner to get one.

I'm having mine shipped to the store, they said probably be there Fri, wondering if I call and they get some in if I can cancel and get one today..

You won't be getting a mystery color. Back in my call center days, I never guaranteed squat either since I was not the one physically sending it out. It's a jerk move we use to pull on customers when were having a bad day, or if the customer wasnt being cool. It's legit ways to piss someone off.

I never got an email from Samsung regarding the v2. I got lucky and went to a TMO store that only got 2 v2's and I was the first one. I got a Blue since they didn't get titanium.

Gamestop Returns

So my nexus 7 has a little bit of screen lift and also the screen flickering issue, so I think I may need to replace it. I bought it from Gamestop on July 17. Has anybody had any experience returning their Nexus 7 to Gamestop? How should I go about getting an exchange?

Call them and they will get you one top priority. Google would do a mail exchange if you wish but gs will take care of you.

Yea definitely let them know. I let them know Wednesday in the morning and by Thursday morning google had already shipped them my new unit! a lot quicker than i thought it would take.

Also, I have an XOSkin screen protector on it. I bought it from them based off the excellent customer service reviews they had, so is there any way I can get a new one from them? If I need to, I guess I can always pull it off and reapply?

Seeing as most gamestops don't have an exchange stock. You either have the manager at your local GameStop handle it. He speaks to his superiors and try to get an exchange sent out.
OR you call GameStop 1800 number and in my case they told ,e the district manager will call me in a few days to discuss options including getting a new tablet shipped from another GameStop in order to be able to conduct my exchange.
In both cases they were very clear in telling me that even if the 30 day exchange period passes they would still honor my exchange since there is no immediate stock available.
Hopefully the next wave of shipments hits in august. I remember my original receipt have a date of august 7.

Honestly my biggest concern is that I am a student and I am leaving to go back to school in a couple of weeks and I want to get that done before I move.
The store I purchased my Nexus 7 from told me no later than August 7. So my guess is that round 2 is coming on or before AUG 7.
I went to my gamestop 7 days after I bought it, on launch day, told them my issue and the guy first called around to other stores to see if they had any and when that failed he said he would "email the supplier and get one for me". That was Friday the 20th and on Wednesday afternoon he called and said that my replacement came in, so it took 5 days of which only 3 were "business days". Alot of people complain about Gamestop but I've had nothing but good experiences with them.
So I contacted my gamestop and they told me august 7.
I called google play customer service and they told me to call Asus or Gamestop.
I called asus and they told me that they would not replace the tablet, only fix it.
Anybody else know how I can get a replacement tablet ASAP?

Did you walk into the actual store?
I went to the store brought my nexus and told them whats up. He let me know that he didnt have any stock to exchange me with so they have to send an RMA to google. He did the request on the spot, and calls me 2 hours later letting me know google is sending me one asap. Then i get a call the next morning stating that I can exchange.
Thats it.
Easy as pie, no arguing.. (hell it was a wake and bake morning so i definitely was loopy.. :laugh: ) and my new one is a little bit newer based on serial number.. so it was all good.

I just called the 800 number for gamestop a few days ago and got a call personally from the district manager today. She told me that they had none in stock in the area but for the next wave they'll be able to swap it for me which would be about august 12. She got my number down and will contact me as soon as either a) preorder isn't picked up or b) the next wave hits with extras for walk ins.
Either way going past the 30 day period will have no effect on your exchange policy wince they have no stock.
Btw the district manager herself has one on reserve and hasn't been able to get one yet.

I did walk into the store. Basically the guy told me that they have nothing in stock, and won't have any until August 7, so currently there is nothing to exchange it with. I'll have to go again and ask about an RMA to google.

I'll try the 800 number again. The guy I spoke with didn't exactly sound like the brightest guy in the world...

Yea first time I called he mentioned I should call other gamestops in the area and if I still couldn't find one to call back to discuss options. I think next time you call you should mention that you have already checked local gamestops and they are all out of stock. Also mention that you are worried about the 30 day exchange period expiring.

I did exactly what you said. There were none available in the area. I spoke to a customer service manager and he said he was going to forward my info to a district manager.
I am pretty mad at GS's customer service at this point. They clearly do not know how to handle exchanges and have pretty terrible service. I was on the phone for an hour (not exaggerating) and was speaking to a person for probably only 20 min. The rest was on hold.
Anybody have any other tips/ideas for getting this exchanged fast? The district manager is supposed to call me by Wednesday, but I already know that it is going to be a mess since I will be at work, and I won't have access to my phone.

Their customer service has been great with me. Odd that you've had a bad experience. The issue at hand is that they don't have any in stock to exchange until the next wave. I was given the option of flat out returning it if I didn't want to wait but I don't mind sticking with GameStop especially how helpful they've been with me. If you are unhappy and truly want a new nexus 7 quickly I would suggest returning it and getting your money back then proceed to buy it elsewhere perhaps.

Well you can't blame them for it being a hot item and not having stock to swap it with. Just get your money back and order from the play store. Its what I did with Staples... Ordered Tuesday and delivered Thursday.
Staples do have 8gb in stock though.

I tried that, and the customer service rep quoted their return policy for tablets: No returns/refunds, exchanges only. I am just hoping when I get to speak with the district manager things go better.
If anyone is curious, or in the same situation as I am, just get in touch with the district manager ASAP. The customer service people on the 800 number from gamestop is worthless. The DM fixed everything.

Bad news for anyone who is waiting for a warranty exchange on their Nexus 4.

As I know there are many of us out there with defective handsets I thought I should pass this on. I originally received my nexus 4 on 11/29 (defective of course), I called the next day to order a warranty replacement and was told the process and that the estimated ship date was less than one week. This was actually stated on my receipt as well. After receiving no information by 12/7 I called to check on my exchanges status only to be told an error was made on my exchange request but they corrected it and it would ship at the latest by Tuesday, 12/11.
Soooo, I call today since still no word and I was told a specialist would research my order and update me directly within 48 hours. Now the clincher, this is what the specialist sent me:
"Hi again D____ ,
I've received a response from the specialist. Due to high demand, replacements for the Nexus 4 are being delayed in shipping out. The current estimate is that they will ship in 3-5 weeks.*I'm sincerely sorry for the inconvenience."
So, how do you like them apples?

I had some SIM card reader issues, eventually got around to activating a new SIM to confirm my issues..still didn't work, so I called Nexus support this Monday night. They filed an RMA. The phone was shipped out Tuesday morning via 2-day air and arrived today. I am shipping my old one back tomorrow.
I hate to say it, but I think you got unlucky (I was very afraid I was going to have to wait weeks as well).
Yeah that'd really unlucky i got my RMA 3 days after I called. But at least u can hold onto the original till the replacement ships

When you do the rma, do they charge you for the second until they get the defect back? I really need to send mine in due to the charger port working maybe 50% of the time but can't have another 400$ tied up with Google that long again.

no, they will not do that. once ups gets it, google is informed.
OP if you check your nexus 4 status it'll say preorder. I got the same issue as you. Still waiting on Google to ship. I called them up asking about the the 21 days to return the defective unit if I don't receive my replacement in time. They said I'll still be charged even if they can't send it out in time. Her name isf Emily ( or Emilia ).
It's because of some idiots doing exchanges for stupid reasons. Know a guy who did one because he has a scratch on the back of the phone

OK a bit off topic..I ordered a N4 off ebay(unused/factory sealed) and should be here tomorrow.If, heavens forbid, the phone is defective am i still covered by google?/ in that case who do i contact for a warranty exchange??!
Seller doesn't accept returns and says under the product description "if there is any problem with the phone you go deal with google directly"
I called Monday about starting an RMA, was told by the CSR (Katie) that I would receive an email about it. I thought it was strange she didn't ask me to do a survey, and she was pretty much uninterested the entire call. I gave it till today, then decided to phone back in and see if I had indeed been started with an RMA. Shocker, I had not. Morgan, who was quite helpful, started up the RMA right away. I got my email and the cart to order the RMA, etc. If Google thinks they're holding a $349 authorization charge on my card for 3-5 weeks, they're ****ing high.
Let us know if you get any updated info.

You may get trouble going to Google and they may refer you to LG.
I make it a point to never buy from eBayers that do not accept returns.

I ordered an RMA replacement yesterday, just got my shipping confirmation and tracking number today.
Does anyone know if this will be stuck at the same yellow screen for another week, just like usual? Or does it actually ship?
If you're lucky it gets updated the same day, as I've seen. If you're unlucky you may get it tomorrow, or get lost in the abyss. Here's to hoping for you.

Galaxy s4 was available at my local sprint store this morning

I reserved the Galaxy s4 at my local Sprint store on Monday. Walked in today and they had 8 available. So needless to say, you might want to check your local Sprint store to see if they had any shipments because mine did. By the way I returned the HTC One for this phone and I couldn't be happier.

Sprint won't be my carrier but if they have them in store I would stop by just to check out the phone in person, assuming they have one for display.
Our 2 local sprint stores and BB all got the Sprint S4's in today. I almost bought one, but they would not match the online price of $149 that I could get on sprint.com by adding a new line. So I came home and ordered one up instead. $100 is a $100. But it was nice to play with one in the store a bit before making the final decision.

Wait, what? I thought Sprint delayed all of the S4s. When I called BB about my pre-order yesterday to see if it was affected, all I got was that it wasn't in yet and they wouldn't get any sort of an ETA because of them using drop shipment to (supposedly) get it there faster. I may have to drop in today and see what's up with that. >.>
Edit: Just did so. According to the rep I spoke with, Samsung only shipped the ATT phones. All other carriers' S4s have yet to show up. Anyone else running into something similar?

We went into the Sprint store shortly after they opened on Saturday just to see if they might have received any. I'd heard the delayed rumors too, so was not shocked when they said no. Mgr said he'd got an email the night before saying they might try to scrape a few together and get them there, so check back later. Basically the same story at the BB store 2 blocks away. Called later in the day and the Sprint store had them in. So I went in and played with it for a while. When they could not price match the web price, we went over to BB. They had also received the phones but would not match the price either.
All were Sprint phones, both colors, 16gb. They are getting delivered for retail sales, at least in some areas. Guaranteed. You can call the Sprint or BB stores in Rogers and Bentonville Arkansas to confirm it, if you'd like. They may all be sold out by now as there were folks lined up to look at them, but they had them for a while yesterday, at the least. I had a black one in my hands and ready to buy until the ad match snafu came up.
Sprint stores in NJ had them...but the store by me only had 6, 3 white / 3 black...I walked in after 3hrs of them being opened and they still had 4.

Haha your first paragraph was just be way my several went at one of my local corporate store I reserved a handset at. But when I called a friend at another corporate location just a few towns south of me, she said she had a huge supply but we're running low rapidly. And even at 10:15am the store was PACKED! So in turn, I had a feeling that some stores may have some supply. Which was exactly what happened. Funny, cause the 2 BB stores in Mt area have the Samsung booths. Neither were displaying anything. Which I thought was unusual, cause even though there is a delay, I would have thought that they would at least wanna show Em off

I got mine! 4.2.2 is alot different. Menu's have more to it. Overall I am liking the GS4. Bigger screen, smoother and faster than my GS3. I cant wait until a solid root is out there and for Ktoons OC kernel to come out! I can see this thing rocking 2.5 GHZ with it's quad core! My Quadrant score is already 12,772 stock, so I'm thinking 18,000 is possible!

Spoke to a sprint employee on the 24th(after they stopped taking pre-orders) and was told they'd only get enough S4s to satisfy pre orders and then would have to wait for "a week or so" for a shipment of S4s for the general public. So I preordered from amazon and they said they'd ship the today and deliver May 1st. But yesterday I called local sprint stores and 3rd one I called said they had one left in white. Amazon preorder cancelled shortly their after . Any way what I took away from this fro any one still looking for S4s is that some sprint stores have general public stock but generally the bigger stores closer to downtown (I'm in Houston). The stores that only have pre order stock just don't know what the hell they are talking about .
I'm in Houston too and got mine from the Westpark store. They had plenty of them. Like 50 or so! Don't know about today though.....

I must have gotten lucky, because I ordered mine online from Sprint Saturday the 28th in the afternoon (pst), and received a shipping notification Sunday at 10AM and received my shipment Monday morning at 9:45 AM. Needless to say I was happily shocked
I was able to use Upgrade Now for $100 fee. They bought my cracked E4GT for $64. They said they had 13 white and 8 black.

The release date was pushed back because word of a possible shortage, and several sites were on backorder..... smartass

My local sprint store in memphis also has/had a bunch in stock opening day. I leisurely walked in not expecting them to have it, but they had about 10 left at closing in Saturday

[Q] Tmobile note 4 replacment quality

Hello I pre-ordered galaxy note 4 and its having issues. The phone doesnt charge properly...i have to plug it in and out couple times for the phone to recognize that it is connected to charger and "dock is connected" notification is keep coming up..so i called tmobile and since warranty is issued, they are going to send out a replacement. My comcern is that they are probably going to send a refurb without any accessories right? I heard some rare instances they send out brand new but most likely its refurb. Anyone has an experience with tmobile refurbs? Are they any good or bad?

They probably don't have any refurbished units yet, so you may get a new one. Have got tried another charger? I've seen a couple reports of the adaptive chargers failing.
I will let you know, my replacement is due to be delivered 2nd Dec ( I ordered it earlier today from 611 ). I will check and it and post back for you. I know it sucks to get a refurbed but so long as I dont get one that was rejected by another XDA forum, then I should be good to go HAHAH

yes i have my wife got the same phone so tried her charger on my phone and my charger on her phone and its my phone that is having issues. Rep told me that i might be getting a new one but the terms are "brand new or like new" so he has no idea but when he was going through instruction he said it will come with no accessories. .idk if he is reading written terms or telling me i am getting a refurb...

Right fair enough. They said that as I didn't have "insurance" then it would be regular 7day ground delivery. Which will take me over my 14 day refund time frame. Shame but such is life.
I remember a couple of years ago when I was with AT&T they swapped out my GS4 at one of their authorized repair centers. The IMEI label on the back was different to the original one as it didn't have the Samsung logo on it so was definitely a refurbished unit. But worked well.
The T Mobile rep mentioned the same stuff to me as well. Saying it will be just the phone minus battery etc. But she did mention that it was coming directly from the manufacturer whoever that is in T Mobiles language maybe Assurion or Samsung?
My current build date according to the box is 11/5/14 previous to that it was 11/4/14. Made in crappy Vietnam. My perfect note 3 was made in prestigious China haha.

I had mine replaced due to screen inconsistencies. My replacement was brand new & made in Vietnam on 10/23. I think it's still too early for them to have refurb units.

Rumor has it that its approx 2 months before refurbs are ready after initial launch by Samsung.
Either way, does anyone know if the refurbed Galaxy phones are proceeded by a third party vendor for and behalf of t mobile or are they done by the manufacturer Samsung?

Defective phones our sent to tmobile, and then there sent off to Samsung to repair and certify, and then sent back to tmobile.

Thanks. The t mobile tech support person mentioned that the device is coming directly from the manufacturer. I take what you say in higher value than what they say. We all know they read of a script.

Lol Yea bro..That's 99% of them,every once in a while you'll get 1 that knows a little something.
Well I can vouch for that. First rep insisted I goto store for replacement and then when she finally realized I wasn't wanting to take that route told me they had no stock LOL. The very same rep also told me to just send my Cel Fi signal booster back without a return label. Glad I didn't listen to her as the second rep needed the imei of the signal booster and created me a return label. That could have cost me $500.

Right now I'm going through issue with my first returned note 4,sent to there fort worth,TX return center and they still haven't said nothing to me about receiving it,even tho ups tracking shows signed and delivered.They had to credit my account 31.50 because I have 2 note 4 on my account right now,because returned device hasn't been dropped off my account, it's going on 2 weeks now.

Tmobile online now taking orders

Go to tmobile website and put gear vr in search box and click on gear vr option and order it for 99.99. They did not even advertise that it was available for order. I just ordered mine. I'm thinking first come first serve hopefully, it's sold out everywhere else and tmobile told everyone that they wasn't taking orders till November 27 so order asap.

Is Best Buy selling these in store? I see it is not available for in store pickup on their website...

Thanks for your response, actually last night seemed all my UPS Status went from nothing (literally UPS site said the tracking number wasent in their system) to being on truck ready for shipment today. I cant stop looking for the truck! LOL

Awesome. My order does not even say "shipped" from T-Mobile...it just says "Being Processed" which makes me a little concerned that maybe they got a ton of orders and I won't be getting one any time soon. We'll see.
Did you pick regular shipping, or did you pay for next day shipping? I picked the free 2-4 day shipping.
I noticed that the Gear VR is now listed as out of stock the T-Mobile's website.

I picked next day overnight because the lady offered it for free, so why not? LOL.
Then, the next day (sat) I made a follow up, and for the inconvenience, they gave me a $30. credit!
On top of that, I complained to Best Buy last week because when I went to the store to get more information on the unit, none of the Samsung reps knew anything about it, or would make any effort to look into it in the computer. 3 different reps gave me 3 different "possible" dates.... I say "Possible" because they didn't want to bother looking at the computer. All I wanted to do was place an order in store if possible because I prefer to have my CC scanned in person and not have the number sent off to cyberspace.... all they had to do was take my money and they didn't want to, so I said screw it and called corporate and complained (took 5 minutes) and they sent me a $25. gift card LOL. So, essentially this thing will cost me about $45. in the end.
Mine is still being processed as well, now it's back available for ordering when it said out of stock last night...this tells me there system is screwing up so we may not have anything shipping anytime soon ...chatting now with tmobile specialist...will fill u guys in

Thanks for doing some leg work and looking in to this. I keep hoping for an email with a tracking number, but still nothing.
I did online chat with T-Mobile earlier today, and they assured me I should have it in 24-48 hours, but I am still feeling skeptical. When I look at T-Mobile's website it is still showing as out of stock for me.

Nope...still no shipping notification. The online chat people are useless too. They just keep telling me I should receive it by the end of the week (i.e 2-4 business days)...but since I ordered it on Saturday, you would think it would have shipped yesterday. That leads me to believe T-Mobile F'd this one up.
Wish I did one day shipping now...maybe it would have helped...but Samsung USA online store said they will be shipping back orders on 30th...I have one with them too...so if both come I will sell one for double on eBay

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile. They sadly just confirmed that it is backordered with no anticipated ship date. What a crock.
The girl said they can get shipments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but that really doesn't help at all.
What a bunch of BS.
