Now tried the room myself.
While its not ready as a daily driver (crash on call), it looks very promising.
Performance is similar to CM13, maybe better.
The good thing is the free ram.
I was getting 550+ mb free with WhatsApp in background. This is extremely useful for our 1gb device.
I suggest to try this rom if you don't really need your moto as a primary phone.
Awesome work, thanks!

Tested the ROM as well, boots fine (no GAPPS).
Phone calling doesn't work, phone soft-reboots.
Camera is working fine (front and back) but video recording is broken.
Everything else, aside from some minor visual glitches, seems to be working fine, thanks!

Ha you bet me to it I was going to create a thread this weekend.
Some things to add -
atm only clean install is supported you will get FCs if you coming from another CM/android version and don't full wipe so do a nandroid if you plan on going back.
I have tested Opengapps briefly and it seemed fine atm.
In terms of issues and the like it should be the same as this list - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-0-t3458931

I found this version of CM14 that such works , Which is better this or @LuK1337?

FINALLY! I'm in tears after seeing this, and for those who are desperate to have camcorder features on their phone, use Google Camera EXPLICITLY designed for Nougat (version 4 at the time of writing).
I am, let's just say, speechless, about this, so thank you all, and on that note, I'm going to test the Luk1337 version as immediately as possible.

Hi guys!
I almost cry seeing this post on front page of this forum, I've been testing the two builds (OP's post and @LuK1337) and I gotta say THANK YOU!
On the LuK1337's build the Phone (Using Open Gapps) is working but not the camera (Google Camera, photos only, not videos) on the OP's build the Phone crashes whenever I receive or make a call, sadly Google Play Services crashes often, after some time it tends to stop. Seems I can't install Apps using Cyanogenmod File Manager, why?
Special thanks to @sebaalbo98 (for mentioning the other build) and @aha360 (for the Google Camera thing, it works if you do what he/she says) and obviously the OP and LuK1337!
I have a question about the Quick Reply thingy, when I reply why does it close itself? I don't remember where I saw that you can keep using the Notification as a little chat (send message the notification stays and you can keep using it without closing) other thing is, if I'm writing on it and the person (or another) sends another message it closes itself and erase what I was writing... or maybe that's the way Google did it
Guys... guys... GUYS as a P.D. you can change the DPI without root or using a File Manager, simply enable the Developer Settings and modify "Smallest Width" for example 600 or 689 and BOOM! tablet's display resolution. This is incredible, I'm going to test this using it daily (maybe only this weekend lol)

Hi guys, thanks for the porting. I tried Luk version, but I can't find the thread here on xda. Can someone link it to me? Anyway I have a little request, either for @LuK1337 or @sandravictoria : can you please implement the getAllCelInfo() method in TelephonyManager? As I use an app (CellMapper) which needs that, and now with Nougat I can't use it anymore. I am on xt1039. Thanks!!

So far it works quite smoothly me

@Lurker-Observer thanks for the tip!
Luk's version (23rd Sept) is working fine so far, even calls!
And it seems stable.

You realize that this function should be in API already? I don't feel like breaking Android API.

Seems that the issue of the soft reboot is being solved with the 23/9 update.
I had already installed all of my apps to the yesterday´s version when i discovered this issue and i tried to perform a dirty flash.
Now everything continues to be ok and no more crash when receive calls.
Nice work guys!

Cyanogenmod File Manager won't let me install Apps, but if you use another FM like Amaze it would work... oh wait, you CAN NOW USE the internal File Manager to install Apks!
So, guys I figure it out about the "Notifications Direct Reply" the mini chat window on notifications needs to be implemented from the developers, the only two Apps that are working on that feature are Google Messenger and Google Hangouts.
I haven't tried the last build, I can say that this is usable as a daily driver, the only problems are some little bugs (Like App crashes but it would stop after the first boot, or some Settings changes that don't work, for example using the volume keys to control media volume instead of ringtone volume)
Also if you want to encrypt I can post the guide that I did some time ago on the CM13 thread.
And the background updates looks awesome, no more "Optimizing" thing.

Yes sir.
But I'm talking about Direct Reply without closing itself: https://www.android.com/versions/nougat-7-0/ jump to Notification Direct Reply, the Google Messenger App allows you to use the chat inside the notification without closing itself after you send the message.

im getting error 7 with twrp, why?

CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

My builds uses all official CyanogenMod sources except the kernel. But I am merging it with all fixes/features from CM kernel repo, Google and kernel.org mainline too.

Wait what, am I missing something? This ROM has HALO? That's awesome, but a bit surprising as I thought this was just CyanogenMod with your kernel. Not complaining as I've wanted to try it out for a while but it was a shock to see.

1 the camera doest work . neither the focal .
2 the Google drive get permanent error

Thank you!
My feeeback:
While using stock browser the header(2 inch long bar appears @top of screen) keeps flashing when trying to scroll then goes black, same thing with dolphin browser.
Im no expert but 4.3 might need some tweaking for our video cards. This is experimental so its pretty darn good to even run.
Focus camera FC's.
Random reboots.
Thanks for letting us try this out.

Is it possible to have a flashable zip of your latest kernel compatible with official cm?
If this isn't possible, how can i make a zip always compatible with official cm?

Do you want to use this kernel over official buids?
Just replace boot.img file into rom install package.
Or
I made a flashable package (only kernel install) for N801x and you can use it as sample for anothers variants.
Please, check this file: META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
You'll see the install script.
Cheers!

Testing on xt1031 (Boost Mobile)
Took a bit to install (be patient). Installed with CWM Advanced Edition. Complains of no sim card (xt1031 is cdma). So no sim needed. I currently do not have service, so I can't really test phone functions. But on stock 4.4.2 I did have bars indicating data service (3G). Currently do not in Slim. But, someone who actually has service will need to verify that data is working, among the other phone funtions (I do have bars for cell service). Proximity Sensor was working fine over Groove IP. GPS is working fine (seems to be a issue for some people). I tested with Sygic. FM Tuner working. Camera seems to work fine, Everything is great, but I have yet to dig deep. Nice job!
When I wake the screen, it freezes, then I have to sleep it and wake it again before it works. It's annoying but manageable.

Moto G is supported by Slim, but they are working hard in the stable release and adding new phones means more time to spend fixing issues, so no more official devices will be added until SlimKat becomes stable (probably next week), for now it's unofficial.

This is NOT the place to ask questions like:
When will <feature> be included?
Is <feature> included yet?
Can you bring <feature> to Omni?
ETAs of any nature
Follow the rules. This is a new thread and it WILL remain clean and ON TOPIC. I will immediately report any off-topic posts, trolling, flaming, etc. of any sort. This is a DEVELOPMENT thread, and as such, has been posted in the DEVELOPMENT section.
INCLUDE LOGS when reported a bug. Even if you think that you might be the only one with the bug, POST LOGS, that will help narrow down the issue about 100 million times!
Explore the ROM a bit before posting here things like " WHERE IS <feature> CAN YOU ADD FEATURE etc. etc.
You have to understand, that gets extremely annoying after 50 posts like that. Most features can be seen on the blog or in the MERGED section of gerrit.
Root IS NOT included with Omni by default, so you will need to flash SuperSU in recovery SuperSU

Using 052814 unified build with 052414 full modular gapps...ROM boots but gets stuck at the "setup wizard". After you select your language and press the white triangle it reads " Welcome...please wait a few minutes" for a minute or so...the the screen goes black except for the status bar and the backlights on the hardware keys stay on.
I clean flashed twice then downloaded the ROM and gapps for a 2nd time then clean flashed those twice...all with the same results as described above.
Hope this helps.

Yes. If you notice, I closed the individual variant threads and put a direct link to this thread. Basically, you can see a list of supported variants by checking this:
https://github.com/omnirom/android_device_samsung_jflte/blob/android-4.4/BoardConfig.mk#L129
That is the list of device asserts that the updater-script will accept.

I just flashed the 05/28 nightly (on my jfltespr) with the 4-16 Minimal PA Gapps with absolutely no errors. This most definitely sounds like a Gapps problem to me, since the SetupWizard is not packaged or built with the ROM, but instead flashed with Gapps. This is why if you were to NOT flash a Gapps package, you don't have to run through it.

Thank you for the quick reply,
What about the locked bootloader, Are there any points I should pay attention to ?
Or i can just download the recent file (from http://dl.omnirom.org/jflte/) and flash it over my current version (jflteatt)

If you are already running Omni then you're fine. Just follow the instructions from the OP.
These instructions are written under the assumption that you know how to root and install a custom recovery.

Yes. I've been using it and it works perfectly fine.
You can see that from gerrit as well as the XDA News Portal...
I'm squashing questions like this now. Please re-read Post 2 as I have updated it.
flashed the 30th nightly, thought of asking about two things,
1. why does the initial setup page needs a working data connection?
2. i lost root after a clean install, am i missing something?

Hello Jakew02
I moved over to your latest rom yesterday the 5/29 nightly and i came across a couple issues.
i have been using cm mod since the days of android cupcake and decided to try this out.
1st issue is when im trying to lower the phone ringer volume, it always goes to lower the sounds/music volume. it is pretty annoying because i have to make all the sliders come out and manually slide the phone ringer volume. even after switching between apps and what not it insists on lowering the music volume.
2nd issue is i cannot get the multi window to work or how to enable it. i have downloaded and installed these apps :halo)),multiwindowsidebar, toggle multiwindow, xhalo floating, xmultiwindow, and xposed installer. also the fixvisibilityofmultiplenonulls. Any help on getting it to work will be appreciated. i am very new to this feature since ive never had it in CM since i thought u couldnt get it, only on Stock Samsung roms.
lastly, is there any way to add shortcuts to the unlock slider like in cm?
thanks

These aren't issues or bugs at all; you just haven't looked around the settings.
all of your questions can be answered by just looking through the settings.
OP updated, please re-read it.
Download page says 193 Mb, the download is 183 mb. I downloaded twice, both 183. Anyone else? The newest nightly.

jakew02 said:
i have stated multiple times that kernel developers will need to begin released "omni-based" kernels.
I WILL NOT alter this ROM to accommodate custom kernels. the kernels need to change to be compatible with the ROM.
Custom kernels will not just magically start working. Kernel developers need to remove the flo adreno drivers and related commits from their kernels. If they don't know which commits those are, they can simply cherry-pick this commit: https://github.com/omnirom/android_kernel_samsung_jf/commit/068449af3996f1072c80dcc4a09a88af43abd7f7
contained in that commit is all of the reverts needed to make a cyanogenmod-based kernel work with Omni.
I have spoken with @Entropy512 about this a few times and we both agreed that we will NOT be altering the ROM in order to this one device to be able to use flo adreno stuff. That's just stupid and causes more work and problems for everyone else.
So the bottom line on this is, if you want a custom kernel, ask your kernel devs to cherry-pick the above commit and release Omni kernels separately from CM-based one.
If anyone has a problem with this, well, gerrit is free to use and open to all.
As before I will use this comparison to better justify my decision:
You wouldn't buy a Playstation controller(an accessory) to use with your Xbox(a primary), once you get home and realize it doesn't work because it's designed for something other than what you have, you call Microsoft and demand that they make the Xbox(primary) work with Playstation controllers(accessory)?
Absolutely Not. If ANYTHING, you would call Sony and demand that they make their controllers(accessory) work with the xbox system.
Hope this clarifies that issue a little better for everyone.
Also on another note:
I have narrowed down the camera preview freeze down to one repository

Jake the only reason I asked was because I did a bit of testing for you where the testbuild had support for custom kernels and you said that it should be fixed and you would push the change when you could. I even followed up with you at a later time and you said you hadn't had time/inclination to do it yet. I'm not demanding anything of you and I didn't want to bug you with the issue so I asked someone else who was in similar territory. Had I known about your changed stance on the issue, I wouldn't have brought it up.

[CM][i705][VZW-LTE] CM12.1 Unofficial

CyanogenMod 12.1 is a free, community built distribution of Android 5.1 (LolliPop) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
This is the unofficial Build of CM12.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 I705 VZW LTE version.
**IMPORTANT** I705VRBLL2 FW required,if you have taken the latest OTA, and were not already rooted/unlocked you will not be able to use this ROM.
There is not root/unlock solution for the latest OTA. See more info in the last few pages of the linked root /unlock threads below.

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
Installation Instructions (These are all required)
ROOT and BOOTLOADER unlock required following the linked guides.
Flash THIS custom TWRP recovery with SELinux capabilities.
Download latest ALPHA from http://downloads.codefi.re/jrior001/cm/espressovzw.
Locate 5.1 Gapps via a quick Google search.
Wipe factory/data reset in recovery before installing CM12.1 (unless you are already on a CM12.1 build).
Reboot into recovery and install ROM and gapps.
Known Issues:
LTE radio - Acts up at times requiring a reboot. Causes wakelocks
GPS sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Reboot usually fixes it.
CAMERA - 720p recording fails, all other resolutions work well
USB wakelocks after removing USB cable, "USB Connected" pop-up doesn't go away.
OTG/keyboard dock doesn't work at all
Overall device is smooth and stable minus the above listed issues. I will continue to work on these but wanted to get some feedback on this so far as well. I'm open to assistance if anybody else has one of these and some talent and wants to help.
Huge thanks:
@invisiblek and the rest of the Samsung MSM8960 device maintainers, without there work to follow this would have never happened..

I'm not as experienced as some others so this took 3 attempts I think...in between 3-4 month breaks to get the 3.4 kernel booting but I finally got it.
I've got GPS fixed and I'm close on USB. Its proper in windows I think but Linux connectivity is still giving me issues. I'll try to get a new build up in a few days with all that.
I my self am on linux. I use elementray os.
2/28 build is up now, GPS and USB should be proper. OTG/dock still not working but not a major concern for now.

I don't either. Or I would.
I can confirm that data is working. Thank you for breathing new life in this tablet
Edit. Had running for a full day and data works most of the time. A soft reboot fixes it though

If you wouldn't mind I'd like to see the logs when it craps out. I still have some hacks in place for debugging. When it acts up, reboot to recovery and grab the following:
/data/data/logcat.txt
/data/data/kmsg.text
/data/data/radio.txt
Oh and there is a newer recovery build and an updated build at the download link.
I'm dropping the "ALPHA" label at this point. Everything that should be working seems to be in order at this point and the builds are more than reasonably stable. I just uploaded a fresh build w/f2fs support on /data and /cache if anybody is interested in using that. Changing /data to f2fs will require a FULL factory reset and SDCARD wipe as sdcard is emulated on /data/media so be prepared to lose EVERYTHING. TWRP 2.8.5 is required if you wish to reformat anything as f2fs. Both are available at my codefire download link in the OP.
A few minor annoyances remain:
Charging is painfully slow.
USB OTG doesn't work at all.
Plugging USB to PC tends to create some nasty wakelocks.
LTE data is glitchy.
Keyboard dock support hasn't been brought in.

delete thread please

The rom is done 80%, it boots, but I need someone to test it with his phone too to be 100% that everything is working.

*/
FEATURES OF THE ROM
-New boot UI(but I don't know if this will be in final version)
-Bloatware removed
-Proffesional camera app; light painting and that stuff added
-Google Now Launcher(because emui=ugly) and kernel adiutor added(but NO ROOT, because I know about the Snapchat problem) TIP: TO MAKE SNAPCHAT WORKING INSTALL SNAPCHAT, LOG IN, THEN REBOOT AND INSTALL ROOT
-Advanced Reboot
What is not working:
-Wifi(sees all networks but when I try to connect it fails and says: The connection to"network" has expired. The connection has failed.
-I have a problem with Huawei Swype Keyboard. At first boot when I try to type something the keyboard doesn't show. After skipping everything in first boot of the os you need to go to -Settings-Advanced Settings-Language and tiping methods-There you press on Default Keyboard, then select Google Keyboard or how it's named, I forgot.
-Bluetooth- same problem as wifi; maybe even worse, whe you press on Activate bluetooth, after 10 seconds it goes off again.
I have not tested everything because at the same time I am working and on The CyanogenMod 12.1 EmuiMix. This is the Modded Emui EmuiMix.
I do not not when I will release the CyanogenMod EmuiMix, I'm kinda mad that I need to fix the Wifi and Bluetooth, and on CM I need to fix A LOT
DOWNLOAD:
Here is the link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-...3dUeHNjYVNxWUU . If it doesn't work, tell me.
INSTRUNCTIONS - READ VERY CAREFULLY!
1.Download zip from the link
2.Hold power+vol up+ vol down to get into TWRP
3.Click on "Wipe" and slide to wipe the system ---------Normal wipe doesn't wipe all data(music,photos...) just some cache what is part of the system
4.Click on install and choose the zip
5.(alert)--DO NOT INSTALL GAPPS AFTER INSTALLATION OF ROM!!! , JUST INSTALL IT AFTER FIRST BOOT SETUP, OTHERWISE THE ROM WILL BREAK!
6.Reboot your phone- ALERT- First boot might take a while, somewhere between 10-15 minutes, just wait, do not panic.
7.Set up your phone how you can; how I said in the problems of this rom is that the keyboard isn't showing= you cannot connect to wifi(but wifi doesn't even work), cannot connect with Google(but if wifi doesn't work I don't know if you can connect with mobile data; so just skip it)
8. After setup, go to -Settings -Advanced Settings -Language and tiping methods -There you press on Default Keyboard, then select Google Keyboard or how it's named, I forgot.
9.(optional). After setup, now you can install Gapps. Go to http://opengapps.org/ , and be sure to download ARM64-6.0- AND CHOOSE Micro, Mini or Full, just these three will work. But installing this package erases old gapps, including google keyboard. Be sure to have in your phone a keyboard .apk because you will have no keyboard.
Again, do not blame me for bricking your phone, losing data, etc SO PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
If you can help me with fixing the remaining bugs, I would appreciate that A LOT.
I will let a screenshot of the ROM, too.
If you have any questions, please reply to this thread.
Code:
Changelog:
28.03.2017:
-Initial Build
P.S. - I used Omnirom 5.1 files for installing in TWRP, because stock HW roms are made in UPDATE.APP format, maybe I will do a custom one at a time
So don't panic if it says in TWRP "OMNI" and "Enjoy Omnirom!" because it is not Omnirom.

Good luck! But I've got a small question. Wouldn't it be better to all developers work together? Like we have like 4+ different roms so IMHO it would be better together right? It would make the progress faster... But I'm not a programmer or a professional so pls don't hate me. I'm just curious.
PS: I don't want rushed things etc and I respect you guys (doing stuff for our device)
Thanks

That ACTUALLY would be better, but not all developers want to make a team
These Kirin devices are a headache, not like the snapdragon phones when you can make a stable custom rom in a day.
