[AUDIO MOD] A.R.I.S.E for AT&T Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi All,
I thought I would create a thread for all those who are using the A.R.I.S.E. mods with our phones or want to experience better sound!
ARISE Forum
I take no credit to any of the work; all the devs in the following link have put hard work and time into create some incredible sound mods that really transform our phones.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709
There are many different versions that cater to every audiophile or enthusiast out there.
Stable: Deuteronomy™
Stable: Numbers™ 3.5
Stable: Leviticus™ 1.3
Stable: Exodus™
ARISE Downloads (AFH)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=59044
I was previously using Exodus on the M8 and it really transformed my experience!
Now it'll be hard to get me away from root because of this mod alone!
Prerequisites:
1. Rooted
2. FlashFire installed (which you probably have already from the root)
My current setup:
1. 935A with the 935U (PG9, August 1) software installed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/samsung-sm-935u-firmware-install-guide-t3411451
2. Rooted with V15 mods - I rooted with clean install and no phone security pins or passwords.
Root guide I followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
V15: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68114204&postcount=1422 (I installed the regular, not debloated)
SuperSU Pro v2.78 (make sure su during boot)
FlashFire Pro v0.53
3. EZ Package Disabler Pro (i paid; root not required) - for debloat; not too aggressively - i can share my xml file if anyone wants.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.packagedisabler&hl=en
4. Working with Spotify, YouTube (and Red), YT Music
No issues so far with the apps I use.
Currently Running ARISE Deuteronomy only
No ATMOS install or any extras
See my signature for current details.
No hassle install with FlashFire. Add .zip and flash and enjoy!
Hopefully we can get some more people trying out more configs and sharing their experiences here.
Let me know as you discover what works from you and I'll add your post here.
Enjoy!

Upgraded to Duet 1.6 - crackling noise is gone now. Will try out smeejaytee's profiles too and report back

Care to share that xml file for the package disabler please. And thanks!

can't get this thing to work at all ive tried everything i need a lil help

[ROM][A2017G][B06 7.1.1.][stock] SLIM² version

HI AGAIN !
Thanks to all for downloading (almost 200 :cyclops my previous B05-slim. Espacially thanks to those who supported me and asked to make a B06-slim.
Therefore I'm glad to present the B06-SLIM²
For those who want their Axon7 G stock (rooted & unlocked) to be fully (almost) stripped of bloatware or other unwanted apps, I uploaded my second SLIM² ROM (ad-free + SuperSU). Nothing fancy, just cleaned and ready to use.
It’s fully functional and tested for some time now. Smooth, no bugs.
From this basic, almost clean version you can simply add from scratch your favorite browser, keyboard or other stuff without being messed up with unnecessary (double) applications. Some basic apps like the file manager, calender and alarm are replaced (see info) because standard in-builts are not that great
AdAway + SuperSu added.
I hope you’ll E N J O Y !!!
Based on :
A2017G Nougat B06 “Turkey” stock ROM
Stripped my A2017G_N_B06_stocksystem_by_raystef66 to SLIM² version
INSTALL : ( TWRP )
Method A : when you're already on the previous B05-slim AND you want to keep your other precious apps you've installed safe, just follow this :

4. Install : A2017G-N-B06-SLIM² : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=889764386195927892
5. Reboot
6. Done ! No more no less :cyclops: and your own apps should be intact
Method B : when you're on another ROM, stock (or even on B05-slim) and you want a clean install just follow this :
0. In case you want to reflash your own apps on B06-slim², backup your personal apps with f.e. ZipMe (or whatever)
1. Make a full backup of your current device in TWRP ! (use it to RESTORE if necessary) DON’T FORGET !
2. Wipe cache / dalvik / data / system
3. Install : A2017G-N-B06-bootstack : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298981646

I also had to flash the old boot image from my nandroid backup to get magisk to work.
so now im om this latest rom with the old boot img.
What am i missing because of the old boot image? Is it worth the efford to upgrade?
if so, how to proceed?
edit: i upgraded according this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/replacing-supersu-magisksu-a2017g-t3614024
Skipped the first step, flashed the boot img in twrp followed by flashing the magisk zip file and all is well.
I dont know what i gained by this though

Fantastic. Worked on first try. Thank you
My main suggestion is having a customized build so people can decide if they want to replace default and if so with what apps (Like Opengapps' Aroma installer maybe).
My other suggestion that's not as important is making the quick tiles centered like they were in marshmallow
Running smoothly, came from MM stock which was slow, over LOS which was fast and buggy (camera, incoming call), to this. Nice work let's see over a few days
ES is really bloated. Would suggest switching to nextapp's File Explorer.
Amazing ROM though! However I can't modify System anymore even with root. Why is that the case?

IMO, ES is one of the better ( even if you call it bloated. Not that debloated i think ) file explorer who can do the job nicely as it comes to deleting, changing system folders etc. It has a nice build-in editor to edit some stuff you want. Other File Explorers do have a harder job on that. I tested a bunch
Perhaps when you are using another file explorer, there's your answer when it comes to altering system.
Also, perhaps you've changed to Magisk ? It's already discussed : Magisk does a fine job with its modules but when it comes to giving root access to system and altering stuff it lacks behind SuperSU.
But thanks anyway for liking my ROM ! I'll hope you find a solution for modding your System though :good:
Flashed this yesterday because I got fed up with the bugs in non stock based custom roms.
So far running nicely!
Thanks dev.

Same here, returned to this stock based ROM after testing a lot of AOSP or LOS based custom ROMS; none of them was bugless
Axon 7 is realy not a smartphone for ROM development purposes ... better stay with stock.
I wonder if I'll ever have a smartphone where the camera in customR is as good as stockR...
Congrats to the dev! Sweet ROM!
Anyone can tell about the battery life in this ROM?
I can't get the SOT of others users see in other threads... they show screenshots with 6hrs of SOT, even 7hrs or something around this
Was in Dark ROM before this and never get 4hrs of SOT, and just normal use, like web browsing and facebook.

Yeah I can't do that as well, if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
4-5 hours is not bad but of course the more the better.
Reference to the battery life I don't see differences from B05.
Is there anybody who's able to have Hotspot working? I get authentication, IP assignment, but no data transfer.
Cheers.

Wi-Fi hotspot is working great. Always work with that and has been flawless all the time :good:
I have some problems with superSu.
It says root not detected and I can inly tap on "How to root"
AdAway gets root permission but the screen stays blank.
What can I do?
Edit: Seems like I solved it. My data partition was formatted in f2fs. Formatting it in ext4 solved it.

It seems that this is your first time modifying your device and as such I'll keep it short and to the point.
1 ) Google Play / Google Pay will Work as long as you don't modify anything in the system. i.e install any other additional mods.
2 ) Bugs:
Intelligent Scan
Custom Ar emoji
3 ) When installing the ROM zip file using TWRP You will be shown the aroma installer which is a touch based installer for use in custom recoveries. in this aroma installer you will have the choice to install either magisk or supersu.
4 ) Always On Will Work.
5 ) Camera Was Ported From J4 And was themed to match the S9.
6 ) Battery Life might be good for you or bad. That all depends on Your Usage.
************************************************************
Lastly as you are a beginner i recommend that you use THIS ROM ( DELUXE ROM) As it is much more complete and stable at the moment.
Also while on XDA always read the threads completely and thoroughly as almost all of the information that you needed was already posted on the thread of the ROM.

[ROM][AROMA][A2017X][B12 7.1.1.][stock] SL!M➅ DF!NR

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING ! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE OF BRICKING YOUR DEVICE.....
FOR OUR DEDICATED STOCK USERS
Made an new AROMA ROM based on the A2017G-N-B12 stock version. Like the other slim roms it’s just based on stock with some additions and option to debloat further. You can add the JOJOC Battery Tweak later on (as it gave me some troubles to implement on boot) that focuses on improved battery performance. I
It’s fully functional and tested (not on battery SOT). Smooth, no bugs. Magisk/SuperSU fully running without issues.
Hope you’ll E N J O Y !!!
Based on :
A2017G N-B12 STOCK ROM
INSTALL : ( TWRP )
When you're on another ROM, stock (or even on B05-slim,B06-slim² or B08…) and you want a clean install just follow this procedure :
Other models like A2017 and A2017U can flash this too. Only use Universal BL & your specific MODEM ! : https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=148464
IMPORTANT !!! When coming from a (treble) rom or Oreo rom beware you'll loose your data because you have to revert back to Nougat by wiping/format. When you're on STOCK rom and twrp3210 (or latest) move on to 'FLASH'
For now I'm using the 'old' school method (not yet the Labs Mod).
So follow this to prepare on 'FLASH' :
1. Boot into your twrp (let's say you're on twrp3218treble)
1a. Wipe system/vendor/data/cache/dalvik
2. Flash official twrp3.2.1.0 (or latest) and reboot into recovery AGAIN (not into system !)
3. You will see you have to “cancel” and swype and you’ll have to format again
4. Wipe : /advanced/wipe/choose data/change filesystem to EXT4
5. Then go into wipe : wipe system/data/cache/dalvik to be sure
6. continue with 3a below and so on....
FLASH :
0. In case you want to reflash your own apps, backup your personal apps with f.e. TB, ZipMe... (or whatever)
1. Make a full backup of your current device in TWRP ! (use it to RESTORE if necessary) DON’T FORGET !
2. Wipe cache / dalvik / data / system
3a For G version flash : A2017G-N-B12-bootstack : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903993157
3b For U and CN version flash Universal BL+your MODEM : https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=148464 ! Don't forget to flash twrp 3.2.1.0 afterwards !
4. Install : AROMA A2017X SL!M➅ DF!NR : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904005937
5. Choose your stuff to add or debloat, let it RUN and reboot, wait…a minute…
6. Done ! No more no less
AFTER INSTALL :
0. Use Jojoc Tweak for best battery result :
A2017X_JojocV2_SuperSU : flash in twrp
A2017X_Jojoc_magiskmodule_v2.1: flash in MagiskManager
A2017X_Jojoc_magiskmodule_v3.2: flash in MagiskManager
1. Go into Adaway/give root permission/download files etc. and update DONE!
2. Go into PlayStore/settings and check “no auto updates” ! Otherwise the Youtube app will update again to that TERRIBLE ANNOYING ADD state!
3. Check with f.e. Kernel Adiutor, when you added JoJoc Tweak, if it’s running ok and see if values are matching like here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75431784&postcount=2
4. If choosen Magisk leave it as Magisk 16.7 (other ones bootloop as known)

Preferable would be a clean flash though.
You can try but the aroma setup and endresult might differ although the initial aroma layout is quite the same.
The Jojoc module/zip has to be fashed afterwards now when you want to apply.
Do take a full twrp backup of your existing rom. You can always revert back
Many thanks for this! I decided to move over to LG V30 but want to put the Axon7 back to rooted stock & give to my wife.
hide bootloader msg zip problem
Since I'm planning on handing this over to my wife, who like things "simple" thought I would try your zip to hide the BL message at boot, flashed the zip , but it show ZTE boot screen twice, then goes right back into recovery. Any easy way to uninstall the zip, or do I need a complete do over?
thank you!

Actually yes, before I flashed the BL zip I uninstalled Magisk using uninstall zip & reinstalled 17.1, then the BL zip.
Ended up starting over, realized during Aroma that I had uninstalled apps I wanted to keep! (lol better learn to read some day)
Still not sure why BL didn't work , as I'm on a A2017G like you.
Noticed that DTTO isn't working. Is that a setting somewhere or is it actually like that always? Been a while since on stock ROM...
Thanks for the rom. Will flash it the next days. <3

Hmm, I'm hitting the same snag on B12 that I did on B10 months ago. Trying to enter/use Personal Dictionary just won't work. Crashes settings. Been a long time so I forgot if a reason for that behavior is known.
LG G3 D851, PAC-MAN LP ROM, MultiROM, XDA Legacy
Hit another snag. Wanted to use Button Mapper which requires Accessibility. Any attempt at enabling Accessibility (for any app) causes the ROM to restart.
I'll grab logs later if needed.

Hi Marc, can you flash this as a test to your PD.
As foor the ButtonMapper someone should test this (as I'm not on this one atm). Did the BM worked on G-B10 ?
What you also could do is flash the EDL G-B12 and see what happens related to the BM.

Hi Marc, can you flash this as a test to your PD.
As foor the ButtonMapper someone should test this (as I'm not on this one atm). Did the BM worked on G-B10 ?
What you also could do is flash the EDL G-B12 and see what happens related to the BM.

Thanks. That zip worked perfectly. I can now go into and edit the dictionary. ?
Apologies for being unclear. No issue with Button Mapper. I'm unable to activate accessibility service for any app that may require it (BM, Greenify, etc).
First one selects the app and flip the on/off toggle at upper right. Confirmation dialog pops up detailing the services needed. When selecting OK the ROM soft reboots.
Could be a "just me" thing. ?
Can someone grab the dolby from this link? https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=778560&st=2840#entry76984514

[DISCONTINUED][ROM][T715] Formula Performante [6/03/2019][CRH1]

Welcome to Formula Performante...
Hey there fellow Tab S2 user! So... your wondering what this ROM is huh? This ROM is the fruit of my labour, after many many hours of work, research etc. This ROM is genuinely the lightest stock based ROM, in all of the Tab S2 ROM era. The ROM weighs just 675 MB, its RAM usage only 1.0-1.1 GB and its fluidity and speed is unmatched, since any and all modifications have been directed towards only enhancing performance and battery life. So, what does this ROM pack? Here's a list:
Features:
1. Extraordinarily Light Operating System with a very deep debloat
2. Google Apps Removed while still maintaining SafetyNet
3. Latest @engine95 Kernel with Enforcing and far more superior RAM Management
4. Updated SoundAlive with slightly modified Volume Increases
5. Every App has been replaced by the lightest equivalent (For e.g, for the Music App, I checked RAM management of Google Play Music and Eleven Music (Cyangogenmod) and found that Eleven Music used 50 MB of RAM lesser than GPM, so I used that. This should give you an idea of how much research and time it took to find the lightest variant of most stock apps)
6. S8 Camera UI with FHD 60FPS,Tracking AF and Standard Improved Autofocus. Other than these improvements, the camera app was debloated as well, and any useless modes were terminated and rooted out.
7. Completely De-knoxed
8. Magisk Pre-Installed
9. Most Extra RAM and Battery Consuming features have been terminated
10. Device Maintenance switched out for Files GO and SystemUI Tuner (To view battery stats, pull down quick settings (notification panel), click on the top right corner (three dots),button order and place the battery icon and storage icon into the quick settings panel.
11. Mtweaks 13.0 Installed for better kernel control, including GPU control.
12. AOSP Sounds instead of Sammy Sounds.
13. Few build prop tweaks for minor performance gains.
Bugs:
Music will crash on first boot
Do not update Magisk, its 17.1 and has to stay that way to work! New versions of Magisk aren't compatible with out current kernel and will just kill boot!
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wipe DATA,SYSTEM,DALVIK CACHE and CACHE
2. Flash The ROM
3. Realize you enjoy the ROM and hit Thanks :good:
-- NOTE: This ROM is heavily debloated. It's weight alone should classify how much has been removed. Please check comments before installing to see if theres any problems.

Screenshots will be uploaded later:
Thanks. Just installed it.
First impressions:
Starting with "Music has stopped". Oops.
Upgrading Magisk Manager results in error, because Magisk version lower than v18.0 not supported. You should mention this. So no updated version of Magisk possible here (from 17.1 to 18.1)? Oops
its fast, really fast. Wow
more to follow, will just reinstall everything to get Magisk to work.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminder. OP updated
You should explain why it isn't possible to update to the newest version of Magisk. It isn't so nice installing a new ROM with an old version of root and no chance to fix this.
Update:
Removed the ROM. Titanium Backup crashes immediately. So unusable for me.

He explained why...upgraded versions of magisk are not compatible with the custom kernel he used inside the rom. Possibly if the kernel gets some updates we'll get magisk updated support too.
Btw idk why Titanium crashes...will test tonight if happens with me too. Dumb tought: maybe it uses some gapp related services to work and then it crashes because thei're missing? That sound stupid i know...
For the Dev:
It's possible to install gapps (bare minimum as play store and play services) or MicroGapps in this rom? Just in case i wont rely on Fdroid or other thirdy part stores. Thank you

Ok so Titanium backup, is related with the kernel being enforcing. Titanium require permissive which I didn't release due to the many security holes it usually poses. Oh and about Gapps, don't flash.
Updated Magisk 17.3 and up, (18.0, 18.1) compatible kernel is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79164496&postcount=42
Enjoy
Can't enable any Accessibility Services telling that the text to speech language is not supported and when i tries to force itself to change it to english it restarts.
Thanks
core issue imo is that the calling app dialer does not show up during a call-no call ui (call received but no way to accept it) if there was a way to go back to stock dialer and messages this ROM would have been perfect. too bad all in the past now.
For me, after some finetuning, this is the best, fastest and most stable and compatible custom ROM ever for the SM-T715. Thank you Skulldron!
My finetuning after flashing the ROM (TWRP is clearly a requirement):
1) flash new Kernel v1.4
2) flash Magisk v.21.4 (the last one before Magisk (with v.22.0) became an "App", bundeled with the Magisk Manager )
3) install MagiskManager-v8.0.7.apk (The last separate Version of the Magisk Manager before it became a bundle with Magisk)
4) install newest Open Gapps for Arm 7.0 ("Micro" bundle in my case, because I need Exchange support that seems only to come with GMail) choose the one for your needs if you need: open gapps 7.0 arm
5) install Magisk Module "Google Dialer Framework" via Magisk Manager
6) install Google Phone (The offical Google dialer app shows a "device not supported" message but works fine with the Performante Rom. If you don´t like the error message, try another dialer app)
7) install Google contacts (The offical Google contacts app that works fine with the Performante Rom)
That´s the good and stable working basis installation for me. I do not need any google account and use sources like F-Droid, uptodown or the A**zon appstore for some charged applications i need (like Business Calendar, Mobile Doc Scanner...)
Based on you description I reinstalled this one because all other custom roms result in reboots, looping etc.
- Installed stock Gapps (Micro wasn't even available for 7.0)
- the newest kernel 1.6.1
- can use phone and contacts without warnings and problems
- upgraded to lastest magisk version, get warning about system app etc (seems a known problem right now, so I'll wait). But root works
- Netflix, Prime working, Disney with error 39
- fast!
-------------------------
Very good until now. Have to wait a few days and see if the reboots/boot loops etc are gone.
-------------------------
I'll use it only inhouse (since yesterday we have a Galaxy Tab S7+ as primary tablet, but: I can't use it because my daughert occupies it constantly!). Maybe this old and slim rom will give the S2 a new life.
@photona: Thanks for your post. Without it I never would have tried this one again. Sadly Skulldron was last online some months ago...
@engine95: Thanks for updating the kernel!

Thank you for the tips, after installing opengapps, system webview will be missing, so I have to push a webview (v70.0.3538.80) into /system/app and install it again in the system. Didn't you encounter this issue?

I don't use webview, so: no.
cant believe i haven't tried this before. made this ancient tablet very useable. I wish they still made tablets this size, this thin and light with such good screens. its perfect if you want to read the news or surf social media, want something bigger than your phone but not a monster tablet like most these days
Been using for a couple of days now and it is the best rom by far for everyhting, tried lineage android 10 and 11, both of them make the tab run very hot in games and after a few mins the graphics glitch so bad it is unplayable.
This rom however, the games run great and the tab only gets warm. Also battery usage is superior to all other roms ive tried.
Thank you for your hard work.
Glad to see the link still works, shame this was the last rom ive tried, the last happens to be the best

[FORUM] Viper4Android doesn't work and can't read profiles in Android 10

I've been using Viper4Android for 2 years and all I can say it is the best EQ I used. But lately upon the release of Android 10 ROMS (i.e Pixel Experience) on RN7, I ended up an issue like in V4A 2.7, audio effects only applied to music players, and not in video playback. Then in V4A 2.5, V4A is not processing and is not reading the profiles and DDCs in the storage.
By the way Im using Magisk 20.1 on PE10 12222019 build.
For V4A 2.5 issue this fixed the issue in me:
1. Download Viper4Android Legacy on Magisk Manager
2. Install Viper4Android.
3. Choose 2.5 version > Material
(the important part)
4. If it asks if how do you want to install the app, choose USER APP (not as a System App)
5. Then the last choose Install libworkaround.
6. Restart
If you still having the issue
7. Install busybox
8. Change SELinux to Permissive
-
If someone who has a similar issue regardless of what version you're using kindly share it with us with your fix so we can compile it and move this forum in General discussion.
