Sleep/wake folio case - Moto Z Play Accessories

Can anyone recommend any specific folio/flip cover/book-style cases that will sleep and wake on open? This is something I've gotten used to with my last couple of phones and I'm not prepared to give it up. The Googles have not turned up any products that state clearly that they support this functionality.
Thanks.

Smart COVER

I am not looking for a case, I am simply looking for a cover that will turn my screen off when I slap it on, much like the smart cover for ipad, nothing on the back just a cover on the top thats it.
I tried to find it but nothing so far.......anyone found anything similar? I dont need a stand AT ALL, all I need is a cover with a small magnet attached to it, dont need a thick protective case or any other feature! A simple magnetic cover will do!
Poetic Slimline Portfolio Case for Google Nexus 7 Android Tablet by Asus Black, I know this is similar, but I dont think they ship to canada
Nothing YET....
Ships on 8/20/12 20USD.
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Portfo...43077846&sr=1-22&keywords=poetic+case+nexus+7
thats the only one i found too, however they do not ship to canada
I know it's not as pretty and elegant, but this is the closest thing to the Amazon variant I've been able to find (that ships to Canada).

To be honest OP, I don't think you'll be able to find just the front side cover ala iPad's Smart Cover, because
1) Google + ASUS would be sued by Apple on patent infringement as usual
2) as far as I know, there's no magnetic piece on the side of the N7 for such a cover to "click" onto, so a back cover is needed to be able to stay attached on the N7

I supposed you are right, I am only looking for something similar, it doesnt have to be magnetic cling on like the apples smart cover.
I dont mind a back cover to hold the device, as long as it is not too bulky that is all I am looking for. All the cases I have seen so far are quite flimsy, especially the part holding the device, it just looks so...bulky, almost feel loose to be honest!
The one I found on amazon.com is exactly what i am looking for, however they do not ship to canada as i previously mentioned the one you showed is fairly good i guess, do you happen to have one yourself by chance? If so, how is the "smart" function working out for n7? I have heard a lot of so called smart covers arent really working as intended, Often times they just dont turn off or on lol.
Anyways thanks for showing me that.

the nexus 7 has a magnetic sensor in a specific place and smart covers have a corresponding magnet in the correct place on the front cover. When sensor detects magnet it turns off screen.

I didn't end up getting this case as I found it too flimsy (like you said with a lot of current N7 cases). I ended up opting for a clear hard case just for the base side of the N7, but it hasn't arrived yet. And since I didn't buy this, I can't comment on the smart cover functionality unfortunately. The Amazon one does look awesome. I guess if worst case scenario, if you have family or friends in the States that you can ship the case to them, and then have them mail it to you later, that'd work. Just a lot more hassle obviously.

Guess i will just have to wait till they have the same kind of product in canada lol, it DOES look perfect from the pictures, hopefully places like bestbuy will have n7 accessories soon so i can see them hands on hehe
Ya no kidding. The device is still new and unfortunately I dropped my N7 for the first time last Friday...I was completely shaken and pretty upset at how stupid I was lol. Screen is fine but the 3 out of the 4 sides have scuff marks now. Sigh...just couldn't wait till I got my case :crying:
You can get it from Hong Kong if you're not in a hurry. I just bought one. $1.25 + 11.99 shipping to Canada

Best case for loose Droid 3?

I just got a Droid 3, and I'm liking it for the most part. My only issue with it is the slightly loose slider which opens the phone inside my pocket. I gather this is a normal occurrence, but it's still annoying. Anyone know of a hard case that has some sort of slider locking mechanism? I've tried the Verizon original case, but it doesn't really help.
Monoco has an aluminum case that you have to open to use the slider, but let's you access the other functions without opening, search aluminum case for droid 3 on ebay.

I don't know if its what you're looking for, or if you already found something, but my trident case i got on amazon for 20 works wonders, its basically an otterbox. Multiple colors, and although it doesnt have that slider locking mechanism you were looking for, my phone has never opened in my pocket since i bought it back in september.

Wallet-case with wake/sleep function?

I'm looking for a wallet-style case (with room for credit cards) with a built-in magnet, so that it can wake/sleep the screen when the case is opened. The style of case I'm looking for: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-Flip...XT1541-/181838860678?var=&hash=item2a5670d186
The official flip-case has this functionality, but other than that I've only seen 1 other case which has it.. The Nilkin Smart Flip which is really nice, but seems to lack the slots for credit cards and money: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NILLKIN-Sma...rd-Gen-/262049446910?var=&hash=item3d035d3bfe
Has anyone come across something like that? Or maybe it's too soon?
I think essentially even the cheap flip ones you can find will do that also as the flip cover overlaps the proximity sensor, just like if it was in your pocket which our device does already to rely on notifications. Would also like to know though as moto won't ship to Canada and I'm not fluent on online shopping.

I ended up buying a standard generic-looking wallet-case which doesn't have wake/sleep function but works fine otherwise: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012NLSAZ0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I then installed Gravity Screen and tweaked the settings so it wakes/sleeps the screen when it detects the case via the proximity sensor. Works fine

Led View Cover

I got the LED view cover for S7 Edge and read somewhere that it should be possible to answer calls by swiping the led on the front... But I can't get it to work.
Also is it so that the LED is supposed to light up only in 2-3 seconds?
Have you switched on the nfc on your phone? This needs to be on for the case to work properly. The LED only lights for a few seconds on my case also. Hope this helps
Hi guy's I have just finished reviewing the official led case on YouTube, I bought it with my own money and I don't earn a penny from my reviews. Click on my link below and see the major flaws with this case.

I will be reviewing a lot more case's in the next few days so subscribe to my channel as I will also be giving out some cases for you guy's to review from Ulak. Please enjoy many thanks

It costs between £40 & £50 depending where you buy it from. Which country are you based in?
I bought this case when I got the phone, because there was no other decent case in the store at the time being and I couldn't wait till April for my spigen cases to arrive from amazon (I know, right..... April??).
It is quite nice actually. The materials used are very good, very "premium" (as it is socially accepted to say). The inside of the lid is a soft leather-like material and I feel quite certain it won't scratch the screen (like the SView for the S6 duo did). Also you DO NOT need NFC turned on in order to use the LED part of the case. I turned off my NFC the moment I got the phone and the case works flawlessly (accepting, rejecting calls etc).
One thing I do mind though is the limited functionality. I do not get why I can accept a call when the lid is closed, but I can't end it.... doesn't make much sense. Truth be told this is my only complaint really. The price is quite steep for what it offers though - if I were to buy the case again for the price I got it (circa 50 euro), I don't think I would. Don't get me wrong - it is a really nice case, it's just not worth so much.

I agree with you, interesting about the nfc, the instructions state that it needs to be switched on for the case to work fully. Are you getting text and email notifications with the nfc switched off? And the galaxy music player app showing the eq? Sammie should have created an app for the case to increase the notifications and timings etc.
Yes, I do get text notifications. Don't know about email and music because I use Play Music and Gmail, and the case does not work with third party apps (which is another bummer).

How do you get text notifications? I have NFC enabled but only get for calls and alarms. I use hangouts for texts though.. could that be it?
edit: nevermind, just read the whole comment.. sucks that 3rd party apps don't work :/ I use hangouts, whatsapp and gmail, and it would've been awesome to have those show up, now that we're covering the LED notification on the phone with this cover.
No missed notifications. Only when you receive them. Theres no way to see ANY missed events. It doesn't even recognize original email-app
Full of **** this is!

From what i read it gets power via nfc and doesnt require much, something to do with radiation energy given off by nfc. It might be rubbish but thats all i have heard
Anyone else annoyed by the NFC sound? How do I turn it off???
I think it is the S_Beam_error.ogg that plays (located in /system/media/audio/ui) ... Doesn't work turning off Android Beam. The sound is still there when the led cover gets behind the phone.
u dont need nfc on for it to work, not on my led case anyway

That's right. My case works without Nfc turned in settings, too. Strange thing is that at the beginning the case was not always working properly- delayed notifications, once I couldn't answer the call with a swipe, errors with displaying, etc. But after some time, about a week or more, it got better and now I rarely face any issues.
After reading this thread i went and bought it. Here are my thoughts.
The case is expensive but worth it if u can get it cheaper. I only paid full price cause i financed it from tmobile to pay $3 a month. For the $69.99 that it actually cost. I actually hate flip cover case but this one i really like.
Not sure if it is real leather but it feels really premium, it does look really premium. Has a flip cover is very easy to open and close.
It needs NFC only to pair at the begining, then u can disable it and still works 100% i get all my notification, the time etc, this is with NFC off (after pair)
I do like when u are in a call the led shows the duration of the call instead of the time, i also get my notification of sms and when im charging i get a cool animation of charging battery icon then a % battery number.
Wireless charging works just has well with this case. I really like how it feels and in half of day of use i have gotten use to this flip cover.
If u can find it under $50 i really recommend this case, very soft premium feel, i had before the samsung slim platic cover, it is nice looking but the back plastic also become very fingerprint and slipery. Not enough grip, also its more like scratch cover than anything else. This case seem to take a fall and protect. Plus is protecting the screen for fall and scratches.
this case is only ok, if it was around £15-20 it would be more appropiate. it just lets its self down with the notifications only staying on for a few seconds, if it stayed on all the time it would be a great case
3rd party notification
anyone working on LED cover notifications ?
the cover is excellent. however, i hope someone can develop application to include 3rd party notification such as whatsapp and facebook. it will be awesome !!
thanks

Detachable Wallet Case?

Anyone know of a good wallet case that allows you to remove the phone easily? Most tend to use magnets and I am unsure how this affects Qi charging. Unfortunately, many sellers are small names and while I'm sure it's a reasonably functional case (reviews for older gen phones tend to be good), I don't know if they've fully thought through and tested the wireless charging function since it's relatively new. Just curious if anyone here has one they can recommend.
I'd be more concerned of any magnets inside a case affecting my screen because of the S-Pen. I've seen this issue in my past Notes. I still can't understand why any case manufacturer thinks it's a good idea to feature any magnets inside their cases. Like those with clips. Screw that noise.
As far as a detachable wallet case, I'm not sure I've ever seen one. Maybe you could DIY something together, like putting some velcro on the back of a card wallet and a phone case and slapping those two together. Does that make sense? Personally, I've never been comfortable with wallet cases. If I lose my phone or it gets stolen that's two of the major three (wallet, phone, keys) that's gone in an instant instead of just one important item. PKW. Phone, Keys, Wallet. I say make sure to keep them on you but separately.
