Flashed Wrong Recovery - Couldn't Get into Recovery mode now - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Which TWRP did you try flashing? Official or modified one?
Try with modified 3.0.2-22, if you haven't yet.
Sent from my OnePlus 3 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the reply.
Flashed modified 3.0.2-22 before flashing new CE build.
Post corrupting recovery partition, tried flashing back the same recovery...resulting in blackscreen tho.

yes, tried with MSMDownloadTool from that post, since the device isn't in Qualcomm diagnostic mode, that didn't help much.

I'm facing almost same situation, haven't flashed wrong twrp, have tried 3.0.2.22 and screwed up...not able to flash any other twrp. Have side loaded OOS 3.5.5 and rebooted to get official recovery and succeeded as well but as soon as have flashed official twrp resulting black screen. Again flashed 3.0.2.22 through fastboot mode and working... In short, I can't use any recovery other then 3.0.2.22. Any guidance and help would be highly appreciated....
Sent from Tapatalk

I also use .22 recovery and no problem. The problem is not the recovery, its a noob problem.

indeed that seems to be the problem here.
Tried flashing modified recovery again (-22), successfully booted into recovery now.
What's causing this issue, any pointers guys ?
can't go back to official twrp for some reason.

Well technically we should be able to get back to official recovery.

Well accepted its noob problem, appreciating if you help us, instead of pointing noob @#$%.
Want to use multiROM but not able to flash any other recovery.
Any other way to hard reset the device which fixed recovery partitions (I'm sure we messed with partitions).
Edit: even I'm using 3.0.2.22 without any issues but if I want to use any other recovery(official twrp or multiROM twrp, not able to boot into it, truly noob thing as per your post)

Official TWRP is not compatible with CE ROMs. Try first flashing official OOS (3.2.7 or older) with -22 and then flashing official TWRP.

I'm trying to get stock recovery I have modified twrp but whenever I flash the cb full zip twrp doesn't get overwritten

To Reproduce the issue.
1. Flash modified TWRP (-22) version via fastboot
2. Flash CE ROM latest 3.5.5 from recovery
3. Reboot into system, successfully booted.
4. Tried flashing official TWRP, results in Blackscreen (in my case flashed incorrect TWRP, then flashed official one)
5. flashing back (-22) version of TWRP, recovery seems working...however if one wants to switch to official or MultiRom's TWRP, results in Blackscreen.
Hope this gives detailed understanding
Edit:
Gonna try the same with 3.2.7 OOS. Thanks Mate

not able to get full zip of 3.2.7, trying with 3.2.6

Yeah, flashing full stock oos might do the trick, there's something related to firmware, it's a long story to understand and I'm not fully getting it, anyway, flash the full stock, boot it up, your device may get encrypted again and then flash the official twrp via fastboot, don't use flashify
I'll try to keep an eye out here rather than on the multi-boot thread

power off phone, keep pressed vol-up+vol-down and connect usb cable, phone will enter qualcomm download mode, then flash with MSM Download Tool.

Yesssss!! Trick worked, have flashed FULL zip OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_015_all_1609141252_c38077177cfc4e74 over OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_007_all_1610310039_bc5bc09fd9af4ceb with stock recovery, device encrypted again but no issues, then fastboot official TWRP worked & then fastboot MRTWRP worked....
now my Question:- pls help, enable us to get some knowledge
I want to use MultiROM, so decryption procedure will do.
1} if i again flash OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 3.5.5 Community Build as primary using MultiROM twrp, is it gonna work?
2} I want to use DU(MM), PAC-MAN(MM), exodus, MIUI, aicp (7.1) or HydrogenOS H2OS whats the best possibilities & way.
3} which one can be use as primary
4} can i flash FreedomOS CE 1.10 [OOS 3.5.5 CB] using multiROM twrp as primary?
5} can I swap FreedomOS CE 1.10 [OOS 3.5.5 CB] as secondary & flash HydrogenOS H2OS as primary?

aassuming you know all the basics and you have computers around you, especially windows os.
1. download everything (latest full oxygen os zip found in downloads.oneplus.net, original oxygen recovery also found in that link)
2. boot to fastboot
3. flash original recovery (i believe you know how to flash, you have twrp in your oneplus 3, this should not be a problem to you)
4. reboot to recovery
5. choose adb sideload
6. adb sideload the latest oxygen os zip
you should really just follow step by step the instruction found in the downloads.oneplus.net, assuming you now have the original recovery, not the twrp.
tell me if you still can not follow. ill make a spoonfeed tutorial when i get home using pc. its really hard to write a step by step tutorial using phone.
@abraham I noticed you didn't wipe dalvik cache before installing the OOS. Try wiping dalvik cache, cache, data and system to see if that could solve the problem.

Tried every possible method. I use twrp official flash zip or adb side load also cannot. I tried using stock recovery also cannot. I tried using the hard brick way last night but after the flash, the phone is charging and I know it is OOS charging thing. Like you power off your phone and let it charge it wok come out a battery logo and charge your phone. I got that so I assume that I have OOS install. But when I power it on it also stuck at booting the phone. So tired right now being finding solution for about 2 weeks. Could it be the hardware problem that effect the phone?

if you were able to flash op3 twrp, then its not fake. the twrp you downloaded is designed for op3, right? if you have successfully flashed it, then its an authentic op3.
just return/exchange it if possible.
i have changed my Hydrogen OS to Oxygen OS smoothly. I didnt even need to unlock bootloader nor change recoveries.

OnePlus 3T Recovery Loop

Hello lovely XDA-members,
this morning a new OTA update/patch came out for my OnePlus 3T, so I downloaded and tryed to install it right away. My phone is rooted on android 7.0 and I have TWRP 3.0.3-0 installed as my recovery. Normally (when I updated to nougat) after downloading a new update the phone reboots itself into TWRP and installs the update by itself, but not this time. I had to seqrch through my phone and had to install thw update manually. After that I rebooted the phone and it started booting the TWRP recovery again, I tried it again and again and again, nothint changed. So I tried to restore my backup with everything functioning, but this wouldnt help either. :/ I read the few existing threads with this problem and heard of a recovery flag that isnt cleared and the bootloader being the problem. One solution that I found was only for an LG phone and I'm afraid that I'll brick my brand new phone I have absolutely no idea what to do now, I would be so happy if someone could help me with this :$
I thank you in advance <3
Encoutered the same problem. Either you reflash the official or twrp recovery (neither did the trick to me) or use this "emergency tool" (which helped me):
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/unbrick-guide-oneplus-3t.481214/
Btw: TWRP 3.0.3-0 is not working well, switch to 3.0.3-1 beta
Good luck to you
I had the same problem.
How you can ''unbrick it'':
1. Flash a any rom available for the oneplus 3t via twrp
a. after this you will be still in twrp bootloop, to solve this go to step 2
2. Flash back stock recovery via twrp
Now your system will boot again
Optional: Flash back twrp
Just flash stock recovery via adb and you're done. It will fix the problem, you won't lose any data

Why TWRP deleted after booting?

I flashed latest TWRP with fastboot command on CMD.
TWRP works but after I reset the TWRP was deleted and I can get STOCK recovery.
I can boot up TWRP only if I connect my device to computer and use command FASTBOOT BOOT RECOVERY.IMG
Why?
If u flashed a rom,.then before booting you must flash the root file or a custom kernel in order to keep the TWRP.
Unleashed by my rooted OP3T on 8.0
I do not flashing another rom, only new open beta versions and flash files.

You have to flash at least Magisk/SuperSU or custom kernel in order to keep TWRP intact after each reboot. Not sure about modified stock kernels with dm-verity and forceencrypt disabled, they may work too.
This is the nature of stock ROM.

OOS enforces encryption and restores the stock recovery when you reboot your phone.
Custom ROMs, custom kernels, and Magisk all prevent that from happening.
If you want plain OOS (stable or Open Beta) and keep TWRP, then use Xennet's patched boot image. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...y-force-encryption-op3t-t3688748/post74155053

I flashed magisk on TWRP and TWRP deleted again after restart.
What can I do?
Reflash your current ROM via TWRP and flash Magisk right after ROM without restarting
Today I flashed open beta 24 and after that Magisk and wipe dalvik and restart recovery and I got stock recovery and dont TWRP.

Because stock will always revert to stock recovery.
If the device doesn't boot, then you're using an incompatible boot image
(it seems that Magisk/SuperSU isn't enough)
I flashed this boot patched image and choose restart to recovery and stock recovery again...
I have the same problem - twrp gets erased after booting in OS Since beta 24
I don't know guys what's wrong with your devices, I'm using Open Beta 24 with custom kernel and TWRP boots everytime.
I use stock kernel, maybe that is the clue.

Upgrading without un-rooting OP3T

I am upgrading my OP3T from 5.0.1 to 5.0.3. My device is rooted using magisk and I have TWRP installed.
The system updates says -
"Root is detected, system will begin dowloading the full package. Your device will be un-rooted once the upgrade is completed."
Now my questions are
1. How to install the upgrade (5.0.3) without unrooting it ?
2. As it says it'll un-root my device, does it also mean it'll wipe my data as well ?
EDIT - I read about Dirty flashing the version I want but I can't find 5.0.3 image on Oneplus website.

Nothing will be lost even if you don't flash Magisk, so yes.
And Rastaviper meant that when you flash the update via TWRP, you don't reboot, but right after flashing the ROM you flash Magisk and then reboot, this way you will stay rooted.

That only happens if you reboot the phone while on the stock boot image. If you use a patched boot image, or a custom kernel, or Magisk, then the stock recovery doesn't overwrite the current recovery.

[Solved] Mi 5X with A1 8.1 ported: mobile network issues

Hi, so i've just installed A1's 8.1 version 9.6.3(security update from 5th of June). Ported with modded TWRP. Looks good with one exception - mobile network keeps disconnecting and connecting back constantly. So basically it makes phone unusable at all.
Any idea how to fix it? May be by flashing specific radio?
PS before i was using 8.1 beta versoin 8.5.11(security update from May) without issues.
SOLVED by flashing modem that comes with original A1 8.1 rom. Video recording isn't working btw. The only thing i found for now
Ok, rolled back to that same 8.1 beta. Mobile network is connecting and disconnecting constantly as well. Now i'm not sure if it was working before since i've used this rom for few hours only and just may be didn't notice it initially. Going back to 8.0 until solution found.

Do you port your rom after installation using modded TWRP? Running a1to5x in TWRP terminal right after flashing your system and boot?

To be honest i have no idea what could be wrong then. I assume are already factory reset to make sure it's a clean installation. Sorry. I'm also just trying everything possible unless i'm not sure i can restore it after failure.
Can you just share the link of firmware you flashed, and the link of script also. Please.

Alright so I successfully flashed Mi A1 8.1 Oreo.
Download the Firmware from Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76947535&postcount=421
Flash system and all other files manually.
Or else, use this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5x/how-to/guide-how-to-install-a1-rom-5x-t3777139
(Remeber to keep all the files in "images" folder.
Install TWRP.
Wipe dalvik and Cache
Go to Advance, terminal run a1to5x
I'm using Aex 5.7 on my MI 5X and my network is constantly dropping. What could be done to fix it? Thank you.
