Did full format in SP Tools instead of Format EMMC Single Partition - Honor 3C Questions & Answers

I was in a rush so made this mistake...
factory reset was giving problems so tried to format with SP tools....
but did full emmc format instead of single partition.
I have no backup.
Honor 3c (H30-U10) International version. Was on C900B320.
Device is now on vibration loop. Vibrates once in 20 seconds..
Flashed signed rom B108 via flashtool- gives error 6148
Flashed unsigned rom B320- Successful but still not booting.
Firmware upgrade option is also not working. Missing PMT.
Please help me.
Thanks

Hi guys. If you did full format and haven't got backup, you're in trouble. If you dont have NVRAM and other main, device-personalized partitions your devices won't work properly. If you still have warranty on your device, you can try take back to the store where you bought it, but because the previous reason, there isnt much hope.

SP Flash Tools ROM dump = standard device partitions (like boot, system, recovery, etc) + NoDL folder (which contains the "device-personalized" partitions like NVRAM, etc).
You can download a SP Flash Tools flashable ROM from codelover's thread but it isnt contains the NoDL folder. We could send to you our NoDL folder, but I think it could be dangerous. (codelover written that in his guide, we don't share files from our NoDL folder.)

yes its exactly like what you said
though its all I need to fix my phone
and, in addition, I'm from Egypt which means we don't have a Huawei customer center that can fix this

So, i think we have no options left. Service center here in Nepal has no idea. And warranty is out of question as this device was not launched here.

hi,
I found my NoDl folder backup in my old laptop..
but flashing that backup also didn't work..
Firmware upgrade doesn't get started. Error 8045. Can't get PMT info.
Download mode flashes OK but nothing happens..
Is there any other way to flash the rom read backup?
P.S.

[L3] [MOD] CWM recovery for e400 [CM/MIUI/SDMERGE]

Hi to all!! I've done a little modification to the original CWM to add support to the secondary partition we use in every CM/MIUI etc...
All is done! Now works without an error of mounting "/sd-ext" due to an "unknown volume type!!" in recovery.fstab.
I also included the recovery for the SDMerge and also a linux script. Sorry, but the archive is too big to post it here on xda so i had to upload it on 4shared.
Requirements:
1) Rooted phone (obviously!!)
Instuctions Windows:
1) Download the package from 4shared
2) Extract it in any folder you prefer
3) Make sure you have USB Debugging on
4) Run "CWM-Installer.bat" as administrator
5) Hit enter
6) Wait, if it takes too long simply disconnect the device and reconnect it immediatly.
5) Enjoy the new recovery!!:victory:
Instructions Ubuntu/Debian/Mint:
1) Download the package from 4shared
2) Extract it
3) Make sure you have the sdk properly installed with adb (if not check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100673 )
4) Run the script by typing
Code:
./CWM-Installer.sh
5) Enjoy the new recovery
The script is for stock roms but it works well even on CM or CM-Based ROMs so don't worry if you get errors, it's normal.
If you want your old recovery back you can open the CWM-Installer.bat with an editor and replace this
Code:
Files\adb push Files\recovery.img /data/local/recovery.img
With this:
Code:
Files\adb push Files\[COLOR=Red]CWMrecovery_orig[/COLOR].img /data/local/recovery.img
or if you want the recovery for the SDMerge just replace:
Code:
Files\adb push Files\recovery.img /data/local/recovery.img
with this:
Code:
Files\adb push Files\SDmergerecovery.img /data/local/recovery.img
And then run the script again.
Feel free to post comments!!

@Cobmaster, could you make similar recovery specifically for data2sdext on stock rom?
I already create similar mod based on this tutorial and it works flawlessly but lack of support from recovery (i.e can't backup/restore from sd-ext)

Are you talking about e405? Or you want a recovery modded to support the partition table in stock rom?
I think I can but I need more specs of the partitioning you use for the sd. I need the specific "/dev/block/mmcblk***" of the partitions in the sd. Nothing more (and a little bit of time obviously!).

it's for stock rom in E400 (E400 and E405 shared the same partitioning system though).
it's the same partition structure created by CWM recovery :
swap -> /dev/block/mmcblk1p1
ext4 -> /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 -> mounted as /data
vfat -> /dev/block/mmcblk1p3
thanks again for your effort

Here it is, to flash it use my script replacing the recovery.img with the one attached and report if it works or not.
Btw, are you sure that the "/data" partition is ext4? Because if it's wrong the recovery doesn't mount it.
Very sorry for the very late reply, I just had the time to test your new recovery (I had to create flashable zip for it since the script didn't work) and it work perfectly.
Now we have alternative to increase data partition without having to edit apps like gellmar's StockMergE400, means it will be compatible with all stock-based rom :victory:
Thanks again @Cobmaster :good:
Don't worry about it. It's very pleasing to see that it works.

Not for CRAP. On an encrypted phone will not mount the /data partition. Cant even tell what size it is-reports it as 0b. I have TWRP , the real version on a Note 8 encrypted. When entering recovery you are asked for the password. Whoever did this its probably ok for unencrypted devices but it is not what one expects from the actual program. It appears someone did the recoding without incorporating a very important feature i.e. dealing with encrypted partitions. Jesus what a waste of time. Also as advertised does not mount the external SD card. Garbage.

TWRP, ROOT and disable Encryption for Yoga Tab 3 Plus (YT-X703F/L)

TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. We also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.
Team Win was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After our work on the EVO 4G we wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and we settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.
A custom recovery is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom "ROM" like OmniROM

WARNING!!! Be careful what you do here. One mistake and the device is soft-bricked. I take no responsibility for bricked devices, lost warranty or even OTAs not working!! Booting and/or flashing files from this post is on your own risk.
Requirements
Unlocked bootloader
Yoga Tablet 3 Plus with and without LTE (YT-X703L and YT-X703F) are supported
Known Issues
WARNING! Our device uses dm-verity (verified boot). The system partition should remain read-only. Otherwise a bootloop will occur. You can flash my modified kernel or SuperSU to resolve this but OTA's are no longer possible! You have to restore a factory image or clean system backup to receive OTAs
Potentially DRM keys are lost! Pure unlocking and rooting does not cause the issue. However, there have been reports of lost DRM keys by some unknown action. It is advised to act with caution. Losing your DRM keys can lead to issues with some apps which use DRM which could then have limited or no functionality. E.g. Netflix will only stream in SD (480p). You can check with DRM info if you still have L1 security level which means DRM keys are intact.
Download
Official TWRP for YT-X703F (Wifi): twrp.me
Official TWRP for YT-X703L (LTE): twrp.me
Instructions
Install fastboot and adb on your PC, e.g. from here
Enable developer options and in there select to unlock your bootloader by enabling OEM unlock and enable USB debugging
Connect your PC to your tablet and run
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
using adb on command line. The tablet will reboot into bootloader mode where you will only see the Lenovo logo. Now you use
Code:
fastboot oem unlock-go
to unlock. This will factory reset your device
Setup the tablet again and reboot again to the bootloader
Then run
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-yt_x703f.img
to temporarily boot into TWRP. You can also flash if you are sure
Select to keep system read only when TWRP starts to avoid modification which will make OTAs impossible
Optionally flash SuperSU or Magisk in TWRP which should install system less. Keep OEM unlock enabled if you flash or modify anything
Additional Downloads
Backup of original boot, recovery and system image for YT-X703F S000936: MEGA
Modified Boot image with forceencrypt disabled and it switches off CABC fully. You need to factory reset after flashing to format data without encryption boot_yt_x703f_s000963_noforceencrypt_cabc.img (YT-X703F S000963) / boot_yt_x703l_s000963_noforceencrypt_cabc.img (YT-X703L S000963) . Use
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot_yt_x703f_s000963_noforceencrypt_cabc.img
to flash the kernel in fastboot. SuperSU or Magisk should be flashed afterwards if root is desired.
Full factory images with flash tool and instructions YT_X703F_S000689, YT_X703L_S000704, YT_X703F_S000725, YT_X703L_S000725, YT_X703F_S000734, YT_X703L_S000734, YT_X703L_S000744, YT-X703F_S000744, YT-X703L_S000963, YT-X703F_S000963 and OTA updates: MEGA (These images contain the individual boot, recovery and system images that you need to restore from any modification mentioned above)
System Updates (OTA)
In order to successfully apply Lenovo system updates after root you have to restore the original boot, recovery (if you flashed TWRP) and system partitions from your current installed version (e.g. S000744) for your variant of the tablet. This will NOT delete your apps and data but will unroot. Note that OTAs are block based and always check the contents of most of the partitions. This means that all of these partitions (except your data) have to be original and have to be on the exact same version (e.g. S000734) for the update to succeed.
See here for instructions how to restore the partitions with fastboot.

Thanks buddy! You are an absolute champion! Tell me what you need me to do and I'll do it before rooting and up load what you need.
Doing good work here.
Who wants to bet on a race between matshias and Lenovo support for who can fix the issues with this device first?
That's great and fast, I'm thinking tab 3 plus is getting hot now.
Great to see there is something moving for the yoga now. You think it will support the lte Version anytime? Or maybee even lineageos?
so you know, i've managed to install xposed thanks to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268 and is working well.

Well if you haven't modified anything yet then it'd be great if you can boot into TWRP with system read only and then connect via ADB to the tablet with a big SD card inserted which has enough free space (4 GB).
The run the following command
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system of=/sdcard1/system.img
This will take a while. Then copy the file system.img from your SD card to a PC and zip it (or 7z, rar). Then upload it

The LTE variant is probably very similar and it wouldn't be much work. But I don't own the device, so I would need some help. So someone with the LTE variant who is not afraid to experiment with fastboot and adb and who can provide me with the details needed I am happy to compile a TWRP for it.
LineageOS is much much more work than TWRP. For an experienced cyanogenmod/LineageOS dev it is not much of a thing and would take only a few days, especially since it is a Qualcomm device and there are already ports for devices with SD 652. But for me this is new as well so it'll take much longer. As soon as I have time I'll look into it.

You forgot to tell me to go to adb shell :silly:
DD is currently doing a dump, non interactive so I hope it is still alive, it has been close to 1 hour so far. I will upload the clean image once it is done and await further instructions from you. :good:
I'm in Perth, Western Australia (UTC +8:00), so we might be playing timezone tag.

I think I forgot one more thing. The external SD card needs to be mounted in the TWRP menu. I believe it's not mounted automatically. So the DD command does nothing. It shouldn't take that long. Sorry about that!

If that's real it would have saved me a lot of time finding the loophole in the system to extract the boot and recovery image. But still a great find which will rescue some soft-bricked devices.

Firmware dump request

Hi, I'm looking for someone willing to dump the firmware of the phone for me.
This will help development and I'm currently in need of this firmware, so if you have the phone and want to help, backup the "ODM, VENDOR and SYSTEM " partitions, upload them and send the link to me.
You can do so from TWRP or with an app like this one if you have root access.
Thanks!
There is no TWRP , so many didnt root Honor 9 Lite by taking risk using Kingroot, or some root tools including me. @XePeleato
Right, I'd release a TWRP for you to be able to do it but since there aren't any options to recover and I don't have a Honor 9 Lite myself I don't want to take the little risk.
Anyway I think it should be possible to do something like:
Code:
adb pull /vendor vendor
adb pull /odm odm

It's read only and you are reading it, there's another problem. Anyway don't worry, I got the partitions from the P Smart so they shouldn't be very different.
Thanks for your help!

I dont think so , when i will flash oreo rom it will flash orignal sprit modem files then it will again become single sim as per my knowledge . But i am not sure what lines to skip from flash script to flash oreo .
zeeshan.siddique4779 You don't need to skip anything when flashing. The firmware will not affect these sections of the system.
At least I had that when using this method to activate Dual SIM mode http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=885689&view=findpost&p=69776735

This technique is designed to activate the Dual SIM mode for Sprint phones. IMEI SIM 2 = 0 As a basis for the preparation of the tool of this method was taken instructions from a third-party forum, written by wizardik For which he thank you in particular!
Perhaps it will suit T-Mobile phones. Owners of this modification of the phone, wishing to apply this method, write in a personal.
I apologize in advance that this method has turned out not so concise and fast, but in principle there is nothing complicated in it. To begin with, carefully and thoughtfully read the sequence of actions.
Be careful! For your mistakes you answer yourself.
Attention! If you want to upgrade to Android 8.0, be sure to restore the backup partition of the hw partition first.

hey I think it works because I flashed many motorola 2017 to 2018 sprint models and not having any issues with relocking the network.
if you have doubt about network issues so try to flashing it without non-hlos,fsg, erasing modemst1 and modemst2 leave those partitions and flash other all partitions.
Sorry for my ignorance but i have a question. What would happend if i install this update in my at&t moto z2 force? It would work?
