[7.1]Resurrection Remix-N, Help with development - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

I just bought a 128GB OnePlus 3T and want to create Resurrection Remix N for it but I need help with that. So, i have just created a VM with Ubuntu 16.10, 200GB storage, 16GB RAM and 6 core i7 5820k cpu.
I found some guides, the new way and the old way. I´ll start with the new way.
https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix/platform_manifest
In my case with ubuntu 16.10, should i only use that ubuntu1604linuxmint18.sh script file then?

Just a second post if i succeed

Hi, even if you set up the environment correctly, there aren't any Cm device and kernel trees yet so unless you can do those yourself it's not going to be that easy.

Well, i can´t do that I will practice on my standard op3 first instead.

60 fps video
Hi!
Can we expect 60fps on video recording?

RR is building here but not by me:

SM-T350 Users!

As you may know, I'm still learning and this project will be my primary one in order to keep the SM-T350 users happy with their device.
Your device will need to have these same specs (If not, I may support your device in the near future. If your device is the same as the device I'm creating a custom rom for but not the same Android version, Kernel Version, Build Number, etc. please update it through ODIN/Heimdall/Samsung Kies/Samsung Smart Switch to the latest version. If you have to use ODIN or Heimdall, please get your Samsung firmware at https://updato.com).
Prerequisite specs:
Model Number: SM-T350
Android Version: 6.0.1
Android Security Patch Level: April 1, 2017
Build Number: MMB29M.T350XXU1BQD1
SE for Android Status: Enforcing
Security Software Version: ASKS v1.2_161011
KNOX Version: KNOX 2.6 // Standard SDK 5.6.0 // Premium SDK 2.6.0 // Customization SDK 2.6.0 // Container 2.6.0 // CEP 2.0.1 // OTP 2.6.0 // SE for Android 2.4.0 // SSO 2.5.0 // Shared Devices 2.6.0 // TIMA 3.2.005 // VPN 2.2.5
I highly recommend you to have these same exact modifications, use the same Build Number that is listed from Updato.
I might have to get some sources from @ashyx to create a newer TWRP for this device (I know, Build Numbers don't matter for TWRP, but this will be important as this will be a large project).
I will update this again so please make sure to turn on subscription. I will need testers soon after it works on my device.
MORE TO BE ADDED! I will only add more features if you request me! (Not DM but posting with my name attached to it).
Hope you guys can give me some guides to use to create a custom rom and some requests too! Thanks!
Will be updated from time to time!

How is it turning out?
Still been kinda busy with nexus 6p devlopment but really hope I can help jump-start development over here for our device.
If you can link me to the device sources on github and kernel (if you have them) it'll be a piece of cake.
Also did our device ever have lollipop?
https://github.com/ashyx/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_A_kernel
is this it?
https://github.com/Evervolv/android_device_samsung_gt58wifixx
although this is evervolv's .... idk. I Google searched this cuz I'd love to see my tablet not be bulky
we never got lollipop. tbh I don't even know if Samsung cares at this point for any device not in the S series
I'm so happy that someone is porting Lineage OS to this device. I was on the verge of doing it myself but I saw that you were doing it, and you way have more experience than me. Could you deodex the rom?
Thank you!
Good luck with this not a developer but willing to help out in other ways.

Our device did have Lollipop. To be exact it was 5.0.2. There was no such thing as 5.1.1.

We did get Lollipop, it came with my tablet in late 2015 (5.0.2) and then in 2016, it updated to 6.0.1. It is still updating heavily. The latest update was made in December of 2016.
I'd almost given up hope of someone developing a custom rom for the t350! Seeing this news makes me very happy. I love my little tablet but I do truly despise the touchwiz ui, and never understood why this device wasn't more widely adopted by the community. Granted it doesn't have the best specs in the world, but it's by far not junk ether.
I think I've tweaked and modded mine as much as humanly possible in an effort to change the stock os look and feel, but its a samsung os, so there's only so much you can do to help it.
A fresh RR build is exactly what the Dr. ordered to breath new life into this thing. So excited!

Well, according to his reply in the SM-T350 updated to Android 7.1.1 and rooted thread, he hasn't had the chance to start on the custom rom. Still, in that thread, it sounds like you can use the same process for Android 6.X with 7.X to gain root. Not sure to what extent. I may look into trying it myself but, for now, my SM-350 with Nougat does what I need for the moment but, yeah, miss having root.
Are you going to be working on updating this ROM for the latest update? (T350XXU1CQJ5)
Prerequisite specs:
Model Number: SM-T350
Android Version: 7.1.1
Android Security Patch Level: August 1, 2017
Build Number: NMF26X.T350XXU1CQJ5
SE for Android Status: Enforcing
Security Software Version: ASKS v1.4 Release 161228
KNOX Version: KNOX 2.8 // Standard SDK 5.8.0 // Premium SDK 2.8.0 // Customization SDK 2.8.0 // Container 2.8.0 // CEP 2.2.0 // OTP 2.6.0 // SE for Android 2.4.3 // Shared Devices 2.8.0 // TIMA 3.3.005 // VPN 2.4.0
I understand it will be hard, considering the old TWRP doesn't work for any Android 7.1.1 build on the T350, I am eager to find a working custom ROM for this version, or even just a working custom recovery.
I just picked this tablet up yesterday and it has the same build. I already did a quick dive into the model number, and if you're trying to port Lineage I'm about trying to help with that. As that was at least part of my goal with getting a new device.

[ROM][8.1.x] Official LineageOS 15.1 for Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus (Wifi/LTE)

Introduction
These builds only support the Lenovo YTX703F and YTX703L targets.
Installation instructions
Unlock your bootloader and install latest TWRP. Some further indications on how to do this can be found here.
If coming from another ROM (including unofficial cm14), do a full wipe of the system and data, cache and Dalvik cache.
Install your downloaded zip file containing this ROM.
Make sure your device has the latest supported firmware package (S000973_180524_ROW). If it doesn't, you may flash the attached firmware zip. This only needs to be done once.
Optionally install Open GApps (tested with ARM64, 8.1, nano variant).
Known Issues
After installing from unofficial to official a data wipe is needed.
Speaker auto-rotation is off by 90 degrees, and has currently been disabled.
The Facebook Messenger app (com.facebook.orca) reads data from the camera sensors rotated by 90 degrees. To the best of my knowledge, this is an application bug, since it doesn't observe our camera HAL settings. Other camera applications work fine. Please use Facebook Messenger Lite if you need camera.
Expanded Desktop feature doesn't work -> display isn't turning on after standby. See here for details.

At the moment we do not have plans to support unofficial builds.
Automatic data migration from unofficial cm14 to official lineage15 is technically possible, but we never attempted it before and therefore it might be error prone. You should be best served by backing up your app data on your own (e.g. Google cloud) and restoring after you clean wipe system and data partitions and install lineage15 and gapps.
Hi. When i try to install the lte Version i get this message. Any Suggestion what i can do? Thx

I don't know, I'm not a Dolby Atmos guy.
Of course you can try, but personally I wouldn't expect much.
What are you trying to achieve with Atmos anyway? Maybe I can help you in another way. Because you know, I use the device too for videos and music, and the speakers don't even sound half bad. Especially when you compare to some other devices running AOSP-based ROMs that lack the OEM customizations (**cough** devices with NXP TFA amplifiers **cough** where the audio in Lineage is really cringy).

Can you rephrase?
Is it the power button that fails to register some presses, or your screen has issues turning on (delayed or not at all)?
Sometime delay ( time ) to get it on and and sometime i have to reboot and even it wont open and i check the wake on plug when i charge and discharge the tab the screen wont turn on even if i press the power bottom ( how i reboot i long press the bottom and the tab reboot )
The next time this happens, could you please activate ADB, connect the tablet to a PC and send me the dmesg on pastebin?
Ok i will
After you capture the logs during screen power-on failure, please send me another dmesg taken immediately after you reboot as well. I want to check some messages printed early during the boot process and I want to make sure they don't get overwritten by newer messages if you keep the tablet open for too long.

Nice. The addition of sigspoofing and substratum service would make plain LOS usable for me. Straight LOS and themes were always iffy.

ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, /e/ v0.1 ROM, microG (NoGapps), Multiboot, XDA Legacy
As nobody really posted here, I just wanted to say that this is working really well.
I had huge gps problems with the last 15.1 unofficial, but it works perfectly in this one and it has some very nice additions as well and is 100% stable for me even with xposed and magisk.
@admicos Thank you very much and I really hope that, if you have the time, you continue making these.
New build being uploaded right now, no changes other than a LOS repo sync.
The last couple test builds I made were somewhat iffy, but this one seems pretty well. (The recolored boot animation didn't make it in for some reason, but the rest are fine)
Everytime when i reboot the system to os or recovery, the recovery looks replaced and i cant mount data.
Not sure what caused it,i just flashed this on my non treble axon 7

I'm not sure why that's happening either. Can you replicate this on official LOS? If you can, I'd suggest you try asking on their thread, they might know more.
Good ROM for a while, why not update it? Is there a new kernel upgrade for the top post?

What version of Xposed are you using? I've always wanted to try this ROM, but thought there wasn't an official Xposed yet. The others I knew at the time were reportedly shady.
Sorry for the long wait (kinda forgot about this existing :/), and sorry for the bad news;
As I am planning to switch to another phone, I cannot continue making this anymore.
I might continue this as a GSI or something, but I really don't know if that will happen, as Android source is a big mess that I don't think I, and my (reasonably fast) CPU are prepared to handle. (Any pointers to dealing with this are greatly appreciated)
It was a fun two years lurking around.
(ps: The source link is completely borked (and all my sources are gone). I probably should stop trying to be fancy and use a public Git server like a normal person the next time)
If your build env is on Docker, I can easily stage a build server for you. It won't be fast, but you can leave it running all night long if you need, and free up your computer.
Also, if you're not using Docker, I can help you set it up, so anyone else can easily build by themselves if they choose to do so.
Can I upgrade the kernel?

[ROM/TOOL][10.x] RattlesnakeOS [Pixel 3a XL]

This is a bit different than most postings here, as I'm not directly providing any binaries to install on your phone and instead providing a simple tool, rattlesnakeos-stack, to build your own customized ROM based with latest AOSP on a regular basis, with your own signing keys, and your own OTA updates. This probably will be interesting to a small subset of users as it requires some technical knowledge and costs money to run this infrastructure in AWS to produce your own builds.
You can read more about the project here: https://github.com/dan-v/rattlesnakeos-stack

Right now the customizations are a bit limited as they were initially meant just to apply patches to the AOSP source tree. There is support for executing shell scripts during the build process that could do pretty much whatever you want though. Both of these options (patches and shell scripts) are lightly documented here: https://github.com/dan-v/rattlesnakeos-stack#customizations. If you wanted to swap the kernel for example (by default it uses the prebuilt AOSP kernel), you could use a shell script that builds the kernel out of tree or pull down a pre-built kernel and copy it over the prebuilt kernel for your device. I unfortunately don't have any detailed examples of this to point you to though.
For 9.0 there was a series of patches contributed by the community (https://github.com/RattlesnakeOS/community_patches) that did small things like give you ability to control network/sensor permission or increasing password length, etc. For 10.0, none of these patches are currently ported over yet.
This is actually an interesting project. Will have a look for sure.
