[GUIDE] Enable LTE on Samsung Galaxy S5 [No Root] [Most Carriers] [Most Variants] - Samsung Galaxy S 5 Unified Development

Hello fellow members! I bought a used Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8) (kltecan), unlocked. I popped my sim card in it and found that it didn't had any option to let me use LTE. So, I after a lot of experimentation I finally enabled LTE using service mode and even Download booster. This guide should work on all S5 devices which does not have LTE option, regardless of any carrier. This works on Snapdragon processor model and I am not sure about another SoC or device having no hardware to support LTE. Root access is not required and remember that you should be running stock rom! Backup all your data and apps before following this guide!!!
/*
* Although this is perfectly safe but still,
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns. YOU are choosing to make these
* modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device,
* I will laugh at you. Hard. A lot.
*/
So, how to do it:
1. Go to dialer and dial *#06#
2. Note down your imei. It will be something like this XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX / XX.
3. Dial *#272*YOURIMEI#.
4. Select "MTA" and proceed. (If MTA is not listed try each option one by one until you succeed, if neither of the options work for you, you can try CyanogenMod/ Lineage OS rom)
5. Wait... as it will factory reset your device.
6. Set up your device and go to settings and check if you got LTE option and Download booster.
If you liked my work feel free to hit "Thanks" button!

nvm, misread the OP

Message gh31 your service does not include the use of this feature.
That what I get when I try this.

Went back to stock rooted back up. Tried this and got the same result. But I also cant figure out how to make the "/ " mark from the dialer. So I can't put the /00.

Since the latest version of LG Revolution, Spectrum and Lucid you can not open the LG Service Menu. We have decided to release our LG tool for opening the LG Service Menu.

Opens the LG Revolution Service Menu
On the Lucid and Spectrum it ONLY opens the Data Menu (Will release a fix for this)
Enjoy!

Well its great when your trying to program these particular phones to other service providers like page plus or cricket, this service menu allow's to set up the phone's programming manually, some of the detailed provisioning is needed within these service menu's, that you cant necessarily do with cdma ws or qpst..
lg revolution downgrade from 2.3.6
@ magical, that apk will only read sum of the menu's when loaded on the 2.3.6 V8 firmware it seems to revert back after a reboot you must downgrade to V7 to utilize the lgservicemenu for internal provisioning.
Here i found this for anyone that has lost root on the V8 OTA on there Rev or needs to downgrade there Lg Device for some reason..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337386
worked flawless now I'm rooted again, and 3g on PP.. then if you must you can one click root with the new build keep your 3g and go ahead and update back to V8.
enjoy !!!

legit, but limited, only reads the RX Diversity MRD with 1stTX 2ndRX setting will not stick on the V8 2.3.6 fiirmware and you need to toggle this setting to get the 3g moving so pretty much this apk is worthless for the Revolution for programming 3g speeds on the V8 2.3.6.
It doesn't work on my Spectrum. I installed the app with Astro file manager but when I tryed to open it nothing happened.

Depends on which you decide to do. If you do adb method, its running in background of phone constant. Just follow as instructions say and itll work perfectly. For play store one, start service then do all process then go stop and save logcat file.

Dude.... That's EXACTLY what I'm doing right now... thank you.
Just to let you guys know, I was actually able to successfully overwrite my SecSettings.apk and my services.jar without screwing my phone up at all. I think maybe if we can tweak the services.jar file it might start working. It's very obviously locked out in that classes.dex file (look for the smartbonding files)
I tried copying the entire smartbonding folder within classes.dex, unpackaged from services.jar from the sprint thread. There is obviously more to it, however. My phone does boot (with original but modified services.jar), sprint SecSettings.apk, and the odex files provided. But still no download booster. Anyone have any other ideas? I'm not exactly sure where to look at this point.
I don't have this phone yet but I was thinking that you can probably edit the build . prop to that of the international s5 to get more features. Just edit the phone name for ex tolteatt to that of the init s5 tolte look in the att note2 Dn3 Rom for examples on which edits to make.

Service Menu for s6 Rom port for Note 4 ?

Hello everyone,
I've being testing out the ROM on the below thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/sprints-sac23-s6-edge-custom-rom-t3193025
and I finally got data to work after some trial and error. Something strange that happens is that if I enable wifi, and then I turn wifi off again, I wont connect to data.
I have some ideas, but I was wondering I anybody knows of a app/shortcut to access the hidden menu that is accessible with *#*#4626#*#* on other androids. The below rom is a port of the galaxy s6 edge from sprint, so I tried some s6 codes, but no luck.
I will really appreciate any idea.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

What I'm asking is what carrier are you using your device on and if the device is branded by a different carrier. Most times flashed devices won't be officially supported by another carrier flashed devices are different from unlocked devices as some flashing requires a "donor phone" for an IMEI and this can be problematic for data etc.

Post this thread under Galaxy S4 Forum and I promise you vill get help... It´s not that hard
There you can get help to flash back the stock firmware for your phone and to get everything to work again. Thankfully the Samsung phones are quite easy to restore.
Probably you will get help to get the right IMEI too... unless there´s something else behind the fact that it differs from the label. Perhaps a new motherboard on the phone after a repair?
Still... post it in the right forum and I promise you will get help
i'm really confused

Lets suppose they changer the motherboard ....So why do i still get an imei that starts with 4457.......... IN the status
and the one under the battery starts with 35...........
Strange... I agree...
However... if you restore to Stock firmware via ODIN the you will probably be ok.
Again... take a look at the S4 Forum, you will se that you are not the only one with this problem. So your motherboard is probably the original one, the flashed firmware is probably at fault.
When you flash firmware for ANY phone, stock or modified, it´s very important to get the right firmware for the right model, or a fimware that is tested for your phone. If you want totally stock it´s very important that you get the carrierversion of the firmware (for example Verizon or At & T)
Stock firmwares can be found at Sammobile.com. There you can also find the tool you use to flash it... it´s called ODIN. Very easy to use if you make sure you follow the instructions and have the correct drivers installed on the PC

You CANNOT flash this rom if you have a Tmobile G935T/G930T phone.
This rom is made for the Exynos G935F/G930F international phones for
people who are on the Tmobile network in the usa and want wifi calling,
volte and rcs.
Flashing this rom on a G935T Tmobile phone with either twrp or flashfire
will result in a soft brick and you will have to Odin flash your phone with
the stock original firmware to get it back to working condition.
Sorry about that...
Have a very merry Xmas!

If you are coming from another Nougat 7 rom there
is no need to flash the no-verity encryption.
If you are coming from a Marshmallow then yes,
and flash it before flashing the rom.

I really liked it, seems too light. I love the fact that we can choose samsung bloatware to remove and everything has a great explanation in the Aroma. I have two things though. First of all I am using G935FD, I do not think this is a problem, but it could be you tell me. concerns are:
1. There is no app lock under Advanced feature in settings, I would really love to use it.
2. When I go under Device Performance, under Security, I see the shield sign; however, it is blank with no text and that is the only thing visible. I know from older ROM I've been on "OnTheEdge" that this should work as an antivirus. I also had the same issue with Helios.
I have LTE, wifi calling.VoLTE, and can access my SDcard without being in recovery mode, as was the case for the two previous nougat I tried., beside the two issues above great great work man.
any chance of a flashable zip with the csc and files required for VoLTE to work?
I'm getting text messages twice with the stock messenger app. Both recieved and sent show up twice. I've cleared cache, full wipe twice and still the same. Textra works fine, only receives one text. Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions?

I had the same issue when I was on the Xperia z3 dual SIM. It mostly occurred when I used the messenger app by Google. I'm still using it now, but haven't encountered that issue. It's slow in receiving group messages, if you're connected to Wi-Fi.
Thank you for making this ROM. This is exactly what I've been looking for.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I get a "Invalid SIM card" notification and I'm unable to make calls or use data even though I have a good T-Mobile USA SIM card that works with other ROMs. When I go to "Mobile Networks" in Settings->Connections, I get a "Invalid SIM Card" toast. I did a full wipe during install.
My phone is a dual SIM version (G935FD) and I have two SIM cards installed (second SIM card is T-Mobile). It looks like the modem that ships with this ROM is only able to support one SIM card at a time. When you install the second SIM card the phone is not able to use either one of them. I reports that a SIM card is carrier-locked even though it's not.
I was able to recover by restoring a NANDROID backup that included my previous EFS partition.
