@Funk Wizard

Sweet!
I just received mine yesterday and I'm pretty freakin' excited. I recently had a Moto G4+ and an Honor 5X I ran CM on both. I've had an eye on OPO for awhile but it's so hard to get any experience with one in the states. I'm not ready to mess with it just yet but I would like to know of any cool tweaks or shortcuts as this is my first use of their OS.
Thanks for the n00b thread!

Is there anyway to get more accent color options on opt3.

Question:
If we use a different charging block like a Fast/Quick Charge from Samsung, etc. or is the voltage too wonky? Only use the OPO Dash Charge bricks?

Because the sorcery behind the oneplus quick charge is kinda different from Samsung and other brands, recommended is to use only its charger
There are no strict warnings about this but so for safety...
The quick charge retains and protect the phone from heating due to its design that the battery lives longer, maybe one can use other charger in case of emergency
This is what I'm using for the car and seems to be quite good

I don't think so, I haven't seen any mods yet that can change colors other than those already built in, may in the future a kernel with Kcal support can bring some extra options

Excellent, good to know. I still have the discount from OPO to use so I'll probably just buy direct this time around but the info is much appreciated :good:

ive a noob question:
while on stock rom (oxygenOS), once i flash supersu on it, do i still get OTAs?
after OTA update i lose root. so i have to reflash supersu.

Yes you will and you'll be able to flash it with the cost of loosing the root unless you flash the SuperSU right away after the OTA

many thanks @xanthrax.
does the encryption cause problems once i flash recovery/rom?
its my first phone with encryption, so i thought i would decrypt it first via fastboot and then i shouldnt run into problems.
decryption will wipe my data partition, but not my internal storage. right?
or do i have to wipe the data partition alone, to lose decryption?

The decryption process requires data wipe which includes everything on the internal storage so save everything also , disable the security pin / password before before starting
Once decrypted you can flash any rom or anything you want, doesn't make any difference but keep in mind that flashing or updating the stock ROM ota will force the encryption, to prevent that you must flash a kernel which doesn't force it right after the ROM
I'm not sure which kernel is available right now, I'll, check, I'm still new to this op3t, actually, I'm waiting for delivery, still playing around with op3, but there's no difference between them

I wanted to ask that if I buy the phone in India, and may go to western countries like US, Canada. will the phone work with these countries 4G networks without issues? I understand one plus devices are carrier unlocked.
Thanks.

Can I change the double vibration settings? Is there something like an xposed module for that?

Alright, two very stupid questions.
1) I'm new to the whole rooting experience with custom ROMS and MODS and Kernels so I was wondering, do you lose all your data every time you flash a different ROM or just when you initially root? I know backups should always be made in case something goes awry, but if I flashed a new ROM, would I have to reinput my pictures and contacts and messages, etc?
2) I see that there have been no ROMS created yet for the oneplus 3t in the forums. I was wondering how easy it would be to port oneplus 3 ROMS to the 3t. Could you use one of the few custom kernels that are already there and follow this technique? : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmEl_9vwLzw
Thanks for the answers!

If your device has been already decrypted yes, flash the super SU right after the ROM and it should stay decrypted, don't boot up before flashing supersu

@shail222
1) flashing a rom can be done in 2 different ways, dirty flash, by wiping only cache and dalvik > it won't erase your data (apps settings and their data) nor the internal storage (files, photos, downloads ect... ) or clean flash by performing factory reset or from a advanced, wipe cache and dalvik and system and data > it will erase all your user installed apps (including their settings and data) and also won't erase your internal storage (as above) unless you mark it in advanced wipe to do so (be careful here...)
Each rom requires either clean or dirty flash, check its instructions
2) no, that's a gimmick... I'm not even watching that video, that's not porting, triggering suspicious thought only listening to that guy... Wait for developers to properly develop, not port the roms

Here I'm not 100% sure, I guess not, don't flash it, check if it stay decrypted, if not, restart the process
I'm still waiting for my device to arrive... I'll be more consistent afterwards [emoji72] I hope [emoji6]

Thank you. It's nice to see this phone finally get some attention. I'm having some issues with the Wifi and data connections on my sasktel version of this phone. The only way i can get internet is through passthrough using my computer.
Thanks for this rom, I was hoping something like this would be out there and stumbled upon it by accident
I have it installed and everything but like the above poster, I cannot connect to wifi - when I try to turn it on it just says error.
It was weird since it synced my google account and then after that would only let me connect through pass through. 4g is not working for me at all. Wifi just says error when trying to enable.
I can call/text just fine. Mobile data would be pretty key though.
You don't have 4G because the rom is based on the European RUU.
Btw, how is the performance, any noticable difference?
For all of those having trouble with the WiFi error here is the fix

Forgot that some will be new to this whole ROM flashing thing as it is a entry level device, probably should have explained what the boot.img in the OP was for. Fixed my mistake now - sorry for any problems

Narathan is right, it's because it is the European RUU, and the EU version does not have 4G. If you can find the US RUU I'll happily make you the ROM, but unfortunately I cannot find it.

So I've been running this ROM for a few days now and I can see a noticable difference in performance!
On stock rom my phone used to be very sluggish - playing music and having a notification come up would result in stuttering and lagging during playback. Also opening, say, Whatsapp would take a good few seconds. Now everything feels very snappy with only a very minor lag when running Poweramp and a few other programs in the background.
I think when people manage to overclock this device to say, 800 Mhz, you would have a really decent phone. Not sure if you can get any higher.
Or by getting rid of Sense 4 would also work a lot I think (on my HTC Desire HD this make a world of a difference in performance).
Battery life is still very good, easilly reach the end of the day with around 50% left, but it still needs to be calibrated.
So, thumbs up and keep up the great work!
Ill give this rom a try. Thing I would like in future releases
battery percentage in status bar as an option vs battery icon
maybe shortcuts in notification bar for wifi, gps etc
no big deal if you cant or have other stuff more important.
Using apps for this currently.
Also some people may find this interesting but launcher 7 works pretty well and fast on this device. With small screen the big windows icons really help I find

I'm thinking of buying this phone (unlocked for 199 €) for my GF basically because it seems like it's one of the cheapest ICS smartphones out there.
I haven't flashed an Android phone in my life (last phone I flashed was a Motorola MPx200 ages ago) and for some reason the process of flashing an Android phone doesn't seem easy or intuitive; and although I use Linux from time to time, I'm no expert with it so... do you think that I should try to flash it so that the phone is snappier or is there high risks of me bricking it?
Just killing some of my curiosity before I get my hands on it.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: wow, I've just realized that, after 5 years from joining this forum, this is my first actual post! LOL!

There is little risk of bricking unless you do something stupid. And you won't see a remarkable improvement by flashing this ROM , you'll have to wait for really good custom kernels or AOSP ROM's

Well, taking into consideration that the CPU is quite weak, I guess any improvement is well received. Are the official ROMs also zipaligned?
Could someone provide some screenshots of the rom please.

Hello
I have created this rom using the Lineage sources and a fix from the creator of the rom of this page: http://customromz.proboards.com/thread/11/crdroidandroid-9-marlin-v5-zip?page=1&scrollTo=16. I don't have too much knowledge in how the rom is developed so perhaps I won't be able to solve all your questions.
Please let me know if you have any issue.

DOWNLOAD ROM
GAPPS: DOWNLOAD GAPPS
First time installing crDroid to your google pixel, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Install stock rom
2) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip and twrp zip to your device
3) Boot into Recovery
4) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
5) Flash ROM
6) Reboot into recovery
7) Flash gapps
8) Boot up
9) when the setup wizard starts execute the following command to allow it to connect to wifi
adb shell pm grant com.google.android.apps.pixelmigrate android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
10) Open the contacts and phone apps and accept the permissions requests
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

I flashed it, all good so far.
Couple things to note, the Stock OpenGapps package said it was too big for system storage, had to move to Mini package.
When going through setup, the adb command given wasn't working until I went through setup a little bit, then came back to the beginning. Not sure exactly how to fix it but it worked eventually, and WiFi connected.
Will put it through its paces over the next couple days, thanks for the build!

Thanks. Will try it tonight and give feedback to you.
Good features, like the "past" features. Your kernel has very good sleep mode, and speed stepping. Overnight battery life looking good. I haven't tried cell radio yet, this is the second pixel I use for testing first. I will try a couple of ways to get Google photos app to work Like Pie, before I commit more. Photos device file backups not working correctly, but that might be my device to device transfer process to move master work data to a newly flashed build. THANKS for your time and efforts.
Edit- yep had device transfer problem. Complete wipe / reinstall apps. Photos fine again.

How have you managed to flash franco kernel. I have this error: new image larger than host partition. Aborting...
Regards
After a few days on this I can say this is easily the best Pie ROM I've put on my phone. Features are great and no problems to report in my day to day use.
Couple notes I had; I had to flash the Mini Gapps since the Stock package said it was too large for the partition. After booting, the trick to get WiFi to work during setup didn't work immediately but did work after clicking around a bit. Then Photos was crashing on start so I deleted it as a system app and just installed it from Google Play. That works fine, and I haven't had any other apps do this.
Thanks again OP, will be on this one for a while.

I just flash it and it work like usual. Maybe something wrong when u flash the rom file. Did u clean flash it or dirty? Mine clean flash. After flashing the rom, i boot it to system. Then install gapps, magisk. Boot it again. Then franco. Work like a charm. Btw, this rom is smoother than other roms. Love the extra setting on this rom. Thanks for ur work.

What? No, firmware, like modem, bootloader, etc.
Question:

So are you saying if we root there is no support? As most of us coming from stock would at least need root temporarily to restore all our apps.
Can anyone confirm if root even works on this build. I woudnt see any reason not but would like to know cause of the above reason.
UPDATE: Decided to just go for it and everything is working great so far. Took a little work to get google apps working instead of the included aosp ones (phone calendar and contacts) and a bt more work to get it to pass safteynet but its all working 100% now. Also tested this build with both ex kernel and mvk and they both seem to work just fine as well. Will report back if anything changes as have only been running it.a few hours but so far no issues or complaints at all.
Great job LOS team

Based on the above statement i quoted sounds like root is not "officially" supported at all. That said to get root i followed the process by which you patch a boot image file with magisk manager. Making it pass safteynet net took additional steps.
If you need more details on either process just post back and i can be more detailed

Yes please - maybe message me off thread, as this topic might not be appropriate on here.
I have Magisk app installed, due to using Titanium Backup to keep a backup of my app. The upgrade went great and everything is working fine under LOS 18.1. But I miss the ability to take backups and use certain features properly on the device (ie clipboard sharing and other features in KDE Connect, scheduling backups etc) There used to be a package provided by LOS to add or remove su - https://download.lineageos.org/extras but that seems to have stopped now. I was just wondering if there was an "official" way of doing it!
I actually held off upgrading due to the previous download being released on 1st April and not finding some previous April fools pranks to be very funny!!

I actually held off upgrading due to the previous download being released on 1st April and not finding some previous April fools pranks to be very funny!!

i flashed the version of Magisk (v21.4) via the LineageOS recovery using the adb sideload and just updated to v22 via the app. I haven't had any issues with root since installing.
First off, I want to say thank you for all the hard work on these builds.
I have came across one issue that isn't working for me, but might not be something everyone else uses a lot. My "squeeze" for Assistant isn't working, but I can change it to take a screenshot of any other option, except the Assistant. Am I doing something wrong or is there another settings need to activate for it to work?
Thanks!
Really want to try this, but can't "fastboot boot twrp.img" or "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" in Android 11 to backup my partitions. What's the point of Android OS if I can't backup my system? I can boot into Lineage OS Recovery, enable adb, figure out the partition names, dd the partitions from shell or pull with adb? But good grief, kinda ridiculous if you ask me.
Haven't been able to use twrp since Android 9 far as i know
lineage-18.1-20210401-nightly-bonito-signed.zip
Searching Settings aborts after a matter of seconds and while typing.
Derelict non-clearable notifications requiring reboot or force close.
Desk Clock stuck at "Loading".
The final LOS 17 seems more polished, but lingering notifications are still present requiring force close.
Nevermind, user error.

you're using opengapps - don't do that ;p
Use MindTheGapps, which doesn't break that feature.

Actually, it's the first time I've used MindTheGapps. I used OpenGapps after falling back to 17.1 though since it is recommended on the LOS site. I kind of liked the Slim Gapps feel of MTG though, and might try it on 17.1

weird - we don't have MTG builds for 17.1 though, sadly.
How do I disable encrypted device? Tried ElemntalX kernel and Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_quota.zip but phone is still encrypted under security settings after first boot.
When I see "Say Hello To Trust", I just want to punch it in the face. Somebody just needs to build an updated LOS 16 so we have TWRP and possible access to /data (formerly user space) and call it a day.

Why do you want encryption disabled?
It's hardware backed, and FBE, so very little gain from running unencrypted...
"Trust" has nothing to do with encryption, it can be on, off, trust just reports it to the user.
Why do you want TWRP? Lineage Recovery does the job just fine. What do you mean "/data (formerly userspace)"? That statement doesn't make much sense.
Regardless of all the above, the disabel force encrypt zip, followed by `fastboot -w` to format userdata ought to do it - but be warned, if you set a PIN, Android (AOSP, not a lineage thing specifically) will re-encrypt you... hence there being no point.

I am having no problems with the ROM, it's fast and smooth. My only issue is after every restart Disable HW overlays in developer options is always switched off.
If you want fingerprint, flash 2.5 vendor
Is there a way to put blur in the notification shade, like evolution X?
Issue found - when opening settings from notification shade it sometimes causes systemui to crash
don't say "everything is fine" then, I'll no longer post roms in XDA.

That's the common thing on Android... Stop posting weird thing that isn't even related to bug... Go to buy iPhone if u want bugless UI

This is one of several reasons why Developers leave any given site. While it is ok to report bugs, please include logs if/when you have issues with any development on XDA.

No, just return the device to the stock operating system, Android 11 stock and then root the device, debloat yourself and enjoy flawlesness. Custom roms/o.s. will never work better then the stock UI for the A70. This is because not all drivers and software are released from samsung, just the basic so you'll actually be downgrading by moving to custom o.s.
Stock is bloated heavily, that we all can agree, but, everything works on stock even while rooted with Magisk including passing safety net. Ive also figured out how to upgrade the stock rom without loosing root, magisk, twrp, and ect. No more having to start over or factory reset when updating the o.s. and the steps are very simple. So with that said, remember, these custom roms/o.s. is a work in progress and not meant to be ran as a daily driver, at least not yet. So if your looking for a smooth, flawless U.I. well, stay on stock.

I did reread your reply 3 times, and I still don't understand why are you criticising him for posting a bug he encountered during his normal phone usage.
His report is missing the vital log, but that's no what you are criticising him for. Of course the ROM won't get any better than stock ROM if the development stopped.
I'm sure you understand what development means, thus, I see no justification to your criticism.

Sorry to bother, but I did exactly this (used MiXplorer) and copied the apns-conf.xml to my /system/etc and then rebooted the phone but nothing has changed and I am still unable to use cellular data. Is there anything you could suggest?

Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks!
Awesome!
Got to install today and everything is working very smoother then butter on a bagel! Thanks for all of your hard work!
Was able to install on my Pixel 3a XL successfully! Sadly there was a niche feature that was removed, but i hope as this rom continues to be developed, the feature might be readded. The feature i am referring to is the Now Playing detection, for the ability for the Pixel to hear music that is playing in background and display it on the Always On Display. Other than that, this is a solid rom. I would give it a 9/10 regardless because LineageOS is a good rom nonetheless.
Well I am not having as much luck... I keep getting errors
Android system intelligence keeps stopping
This is with the UNOFFICIAL buld from the 21st
Also there does not appear to be any theming colors other then the deafault ones found in stock android. One of the reason I like LOS so much is that gogle does such a horrible job picking allowed theme colors
UPDATE: Loaded the official version and while I dont have the issue with android system intelligence I no longer can find any way to change theme color. In the custom version I had the options to use the standard google colors, in the stock version those choices simply dont exist. I only see wallpaper options and nothing else.
Is it hidden somewhere else under settings as I cant find it
Also changing system icon type doesnt affect all icons, not sure this may be an issue with pure sock as well

ok so whats the official party line from LOS for theming as currently there is no way to change accent colors at all. Mine defaults to lime green and I can find no way to change it
That said I dont want to seem negative as for a first build for android 12 everything else seems to work perfectly

On the official build there is no way.
It's monet. Matches AOSP.
With much thanks & appreciation for LOS support for our beloved devices over the years, going back to the early Moto & Nexus days ... here I come, joining soon - my Pixel 3a XL in excellent condition, well cared for and AccuBattery health put it at 97% still, SOT on stock rom of close to 8 hours - not putting this away anytime soon, nor going to trade it for $25 or even $50 (BL unlocked, ready to have fun)
Really sorry for this question
I have mido and it's quite simple to flash roms via usb in twrp or of...... instructions are...
Wiping
Dalvik/art cache

Interal storage
Vendor
After all this
Data wipe with yes option

Reboot

UPDATE: forgot stock android theming is horrible. Only 4 colors to pick. Will keep using official with the magisk module for now... and yes I know this makes me unsupported since am using magisk but until LOS implements some kind of theming its really the only choice

Actually The answers seem to be No and No then. Tried to load yours on top of official and had intelligence errors as well as just general app stoping errors mostly when in settings.
Back on official LOS for now, had to reload with a factory format to get it to work right again. Hope LOS team implements some kind of theming in the near future.
